motion_n whether_o to_o good_a or_o evil_n for_o if_o they_o be_v evil_a hereby_o we_o take_v notice_n of_o they_o and_o so_o discern_v the_o quality_n of_o they_o by_o the_o word_n be_v hereby_o humble_v and_o confound_v by_o they_o in_o regard_n of_o any_o perfection_n that_o we_o have_v attain_v and_o so_o by_o this_o mean_n either_o prevent_v the_o consent_n and_o act_n of_o sin_n or_o else_o break_v the_o force_n of_o it_o though_o it_o be_v commit_v that_o so_o it_o may_v less_o discourage_v we_o and_o abide_v short_a time_n with_o us._n but_o if_o they_o be_v good_a by_o this_o ruminate_v of_o they_o we_o discern_v of_o their_o nature_n and_o fitness_n for_o our_o present_a use_n and_o so_o approve_v of_o they_o according_o be_v enable_v to_o take_v the_o opportunity_n to_o replenish_v with_o heavenly_a meditation_n so_o have_v we_o get_v a_o great_a hand_n over_o corruption_n so_o have_v we_o a_o more_o plentiful_a increase_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n 2_o as_o good_a meditation_n and_o thought_n do_v more_o abide_v with_o we_o and_o be_v more_o affect_v and_o delight_v of_o we_o be_v more_o powerful_a to_o enable_v we_o to_o holy_a action_n so_o do_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n increase_n in_o us._n 3_o and_o on_o the_o contrary_a the_o more_o we_o be_v sensible_a of_o evil_a thought_n the_o more_o they_o be_v irksome_a and_o grievous_a unto_o we_o the_o satan_n who_o dishonour_v his_o name_n and_o abuse_v his_o workmanship_n by_o such_o odious_a contumely_n and_o so_o thereby_o to_o deliver_v we_o out_o of_o his_o hand_n the_o last_o use_n of_o this_o treatise_n be_v for_o comfort_n and_o that_o many_o way_n 1_o to_o those_o which_o be_v not_o yet_o call_v that_o they_o may_v hope_v for_o their_o call_n in_o due_a time_n and_o hasten_v the_o same_o not_o that_o there_o be_v in_o any_o natural_o any_o true_a hope_n of_o theiâ—_n call_v or_o any_o mean_n to_o further_a the_o same_o but_o that_o the_o powerful_a and_o wise_a lord_n for_o doctrine_n of_o thought_n discover_v hereby_o our_o utter_a inability_n to_o grace_n prove_v a_o gracious_a mean_n to_o cast_v we_o whole_o out_o of_o ourselves_o and_o so_o to_o provoke_v we_o to_o faint_v for_o the_o true_a remedy_n and_o the_o rather_o because_o if_o once_o the_o lord_n awaken_v the_o conscience_n by_o the_o law_n and_o so_o discover_v what_o heretofore_o we_o be_v ignorant_a of_o namely_o not_o only_o that_o lust_n be_v evil_a but_o that_o even_o our_o very_a thought_n without_o consent_n deserve_v eternal_a damnation_n as_o this_o to_o the_o natural_a man_n prove_v a_o mean_n of_o further_a rebellion_n because_o the_o wisdom_n of_o the_o flesh_n be_v enmity_n against_o god_n and_o can_v be_v subject_a to_o he_o rom._n 8.7_o so_o hereby_o our_o thought_n become_v confound_a all_o conceit_n of_o perfect_a happiness_n in_o himself_o that_o hereby_o he_o must_v necessary_o be_v constrain_v to_o seek_v for_o peace_n else_o where_o and_o do_v not_o the_o law_n not_o be_v liable_a to_o they_o and_o yet_o they_o may_v serve_v gracious_o when_o we_o come_v to_o discern_v right_o of_o they_o both_o to_o advance_v the_o mercy_n and_o power_n of_o god_n in_o preserve_v we_o from_o such_o effect_n which_o our_o thought_n portend_v and_o also_o to_o humble_v we_o more_o deep_o in_o the_o sense_n of_o our_o vileness_n that_o be_v subject_a to_o be_v abuse_v and_o distract_v thereby_o a_o second_o comfort_n herein_o be_v that_o though_o satan_n may_v abuse_v our_o heart_n by_o cast_v in_o strange_a and_o fearful_a tentation_n and_o so_o provoke_v we_o infinite_a that_o no_o earthly_a thing_n can_v give_v that_o content_a unto_o they_o but_o shall_v still_o they_o be_v hunger_a after_o better_a thing_n therefore_o see_v the_o lord_n have_v make_v
