shall_v receive_v the_o hire_n due_a for_o the_o same_o for_o man_n when_o any_o thing_n be_v in_o question_n that_o they_o have_v to_o do_v will_v straight_o way_n enter_v into_o their_o own_o speculation_n they_o never_o make_v question_n to_o have_v recourse_n unto_o god_n nor_o to_o call_v upon_o he_o but_o every_o man_n will_v do_v what_o seem_v best_a to_o himself_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v meet_v that_o god_n pay_v we_o in_o such_o money_n as_o we_o deserve_v that_o he_o put_v we_o i_o say_v in_o such_o doubt_n as_o that_o we_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o know_v what_o shall_v become_v of_o we_o so_o that_o the_o anguish_n shall_v force_v we_o too_o say_v what_o shall_v become_v of_o this_o matter_n which_o way_n shall_v i_o begin_v and_o what_o shall_v be_v the_o than_o cast_v away_o and_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n hereof_o even_o the_o man_n which_o have_v build_v unto_o themselves_o such_o maze_n for_o it_o be_v even_o they_o themselves_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o their_o so_o great_a torment_n for_o david_n have_v here_o declare_v unto_o we_o that_o as_o many_o as_o seek_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n do_v walk_v at_o liberty_n it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o the_o faithful_a although_o they_o endeavour_v themselves_o all_o they_o can_v to_o obey_v god_n and_o suffer_v he_o to_o govern_v they_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o they_o be_v not_o void_a of_o merueylous_a grief_n &_o vexation_n that_o they_o be_v many_o time_n at_o their_o wit_n end_n and_o know_v not_o what_o to_o do_v but_o yet_o they_o come_v unto_o god_n and_o lay_v all_o their_o care_n upon_o he_o as_o it_o be_v write_v in_o the_o thirty_o and_o seven_o psalm_n and_o there_o they_o find_v themselves_o discharge_v and_o unburden_v and_o so_o go_v they_o daily_o on_o for_o they_o be_v assure_v that_o god_n can_v never_o fail_v they_o behold_v then_o how_o we_o may_v be_v very_o well_o tempt_v with_o many_o sorrow_n and_o grief_n neither_o can_v we_o be_v exempt_a from_o a_o great_a number_n of_o disquietness_n but_o yet_o god_n will_v always_o unburden_v we_o of_o they_o as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o a_o other_o place_n of_o the_o psalm_n that_o when_o we_o have_v be_v for_o a_o while_n fast_o shut_v up_o yet_o god_n will_v set_v we_o at_o liberty_n as_o also_o saint_n paul_n say_v in_o the_o second_o to_o the_o corinth_n it_o be_v very_o true_a say_v he_o that_o we_o be_v oppress_v with_o many_o torment_n and_o grief_n but_o yet_o we_o continue_v not_o in_o sorrow_n and_o pain_n for_o god_n will_v always_o deliver_v we_o and_o will_v give_v we_o a_o good_a and_o joyful_a issue_n so_o that_o in_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o overcome_v they_o see_v then_o what_o be_v declare_v unto_o we_o in_o this_o place_n where_o it_o be_v say_v i_o will_v walk_v at_o liberty_n o_o lord_n because_o i_o seek_v thy_o commandment_n even_o so_o let_v we_o know_v that_o when_o our_o life_n be_v miserable_a and_o wretched_a and_o that_o we_o must_v needs_o live_v in_o pain_n torment_n and_o sorrow_n that_o all_o come_v by_o reason_n of_o our_o sin_n because_o we_o present_v not_o ourselves_o before_o god_n suffer_v we_o not_o to_o be_v conduct_v by_o he_o put_v not_o our_o life_n into_o his_o hand_n neither_o do_v we_o come_v willing_o too_o seek_v for_o remedy_n after_o we_o have_v once_o know_v out_o grief_n that_o be_v too_o say_v too_o desire_v god_n that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o to_o take_v we_o into_o his_o custodye_n without_o hope_v or_o wait_v for_o any_o other_o thing_n but_o for_o that_o which_o he_o tell_v we_o out_o of_o his_o word_n for_o when_o we_o shall_v so_o do_v there_o be_v no_o doubt_n but_o that_o he_o will_v make_v we_o too_o walk_v at_o liberty_n now_o it_o follow_v i_o will_v speak_v of_o thy_o testimony_n also_o even_o before_o king_n and_o will_v not_o be_v ashamed_a behold_v a_o declaration_n of_o the_o matter_n which_o we_o have_v already_o touch_v here_o before_o for_o david_n make_v after_o that_o god_n in_o bestow_v his_o grace_n upon_o he_o have_v open_v his_o mouth_n have_v confirm_v the_o child_n of_o god_n by_o his_o example_n and_o bring_v they_o unto_o he_o in_o show_v they_o the_o way_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n have_v foil_v the_o wicked_a and_o despiser_n of_o god_n and_o of_o the_o law_n the_o scorner_n of_o his_o hope_n and_o the_o blasphemer_n of_o god_n yet_o be_v he_o able_a i_o say_v too_o beat_v they_o back_o and_o make_v his_o part_n good_a against_o they_o all_o and_o this_o matter_n he_o manifest_o declare_v whereas_o he_o say_v i_o will_v speak_v of_o thy_o testimony_n because_o god_n shall_v no_o more_o take_v the_o word_n of_o truth_n out_o of_o his_o mouth_n now_o beside_o this_o that_o god_n give_v untoo_o we_o matter_n whereof_o to_o speak_v free_o yet_o must_v that_o come_v from_o he_o as_o we_o hear_v that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n have_v speak_v off_o that_o it_o be_v the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o guide_v our_o prince_n and_o never_o be_v ashamed_a as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v o_o lord_n thy_o word_n ought_v to_o be_v of_o such_o power_n unto_o we_o as_o that_o we_o may_v foil_v our_o enenemye_n yea_o have_v continue_v long_o they_o render_v a_o good_a testimony_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n but_o here_o david_n namely_o speak_v of_o the_o heaven_n because_o we_o see_v by_o they_o a_o more_o manifest_a sign_n of_o the_o majesty_n of_o god_n than_o we_o see_v here_o below_o on_o earth_n and_o in_o deed_n in_o that_o we_o be_v rude_a and_o earthly_a we_o have_v need_v to_o have_v god_n to_o guide_v we_o and_o too_o lift_v up_o our_o mind_n when_o that_o he_o will_v have_v we_o to_o think_v on_o he_o too_o the_o end_n we_o may_v forget_v the_o world_n &_o all_o the_o corruptible_a thing_n here_o beneath_o see_v they_o the_o reason_n why_o david_n in_o this_o make_v the_o seat_n and_o house_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n in_o heaven_n because_o we_o have_v need_n to_o look_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o high_a than_o into_o our_o own_o sense_n when_o we_o will_v comprehend_v how_o god_n be_v true_a and_o faithful_a when_o we_o will_v feel_v the_o certainty_n and_o assurance_n of_o his_o word_n we_o must_v enter_v into_o a_o more_o deep_a consideration_n than_o our_o sense_n be_v able_a too_o bear_v and_o not_o look_v so_o into_o the_o visible_a thing_n or_o into_o that_o which_o we_o conceive_v on_o earth_n he_o add_v that_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n it_o from_o generation_n to_o generation_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v it_o be_v true_a o_o lord_n that_o man_n be_v here_o very_o circumspect_a and_o advise_v and_o we_o see_v also_o how_o thing_n have_v their_o alteration_n so_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o which_o be_v not_o waver_v and_o inconstant_a we_o be_v as_o mind_n now_o see_v then_o a_o good_a remedy_n that_o be_v let_v we_o know_v that_o although_o we_o be_v environ_v with_o a_o great_a number_n of_o danger_n although_o there_o be_v no_o certainty_n in_o our_o life_n although_o there_o be_v always_o a_o hundred_o death_n before_o our_o eye_n yea_o that_o we_o think_v the_o devil_n shall_v swallow_v we_o up_o every_o minute_n of_o a_o hour_n yet_o must_v we_o be_v peaceable_a and_o hold_v ourselves_o quiet_a and_o still_o because_o that_o god_n have_v lay_v the_o foundation_n of_o our_o salvation_n in_o his_o word_n and_o that_o he_o have_v promise_v to_o keep_v our_o life_n when_o then_o we_o shall_v have_v the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o certify_v we_o that_o he_o have_v care_n both_o of_o our_o soul_n and_o body_n let_v we_o know_v and_o be_v certain_o assure_v that_o herein_o consist_v all_o our_o constancy_n so_o then_o let_v we_o right_o apply_v this_o doctrine_n for_o our_o instruction_n that_o when_o it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v permanent_a in_o heaven_n that_o his_o truth_n show_v itself_o from_o age_n to_o age_n &_o so_o continue_v that_o it_o be_v namely_o speak_v to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v patient_a in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o the_o trouble_n giefe_n and_o anguish_v which_o we_o may_v have_v be_v shake_v amid_o so_o many_o danger_n and_o also_o see_v the_o endless_a and_o incessant_a change_n which_o be_v here_o beneath_o and_o nothing_o else_o but_o all_o unquietness_n let_v we_o then_o see_v what_o be_v here_o to_o be_v consider_v for_o the_o first_o point_n we_o must_v not_o seek_v to_o take_v our_o rest_n in_o this_o world_n for_o we_o shall_v never_o have_v it_o here_o but_o let_v we_o always_o have_v our_o recourse_n too_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n moreover_o let_v we_o see_v if_o we_o can_v right_o practice_v this_o doctrine_n that_o nothing_o hinder_v we_o but_o that_o we_o may_v live_v in_o peace_n and_o tranquillity_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o the_o most_o great_a and_o dangerous_a confusion_n which_o may_v light_v upon_o us._n let_v we_o also_o see_v that_o whether_o the_o wind_n blow_v in_o this_o corner_n or_o in_o that_o that_o there_o be_v garboil_n of_o war_n that_o there_o be_v pestilence_n &_o famine_n and_o such_o like_a that_o it_o seem_v we_o shall_v perish_v a_o thousand_o manner_n of_o way_n yet_o all_o they_o which_o settle_v themselves_o upon_o the_o word_n of_o god_n will_v never_o be_v but_o certain_a for_o they_o shall_v feel_v both_o in_o life_n and_o death_n that_o they_o be_v in_o his_o hand_n and_o protection_n and_o have_v this_o confidence_n with_o themselves_o they_o will_v make_v no_o reckon_n of_o all_o whatsoever_o shall_v come_v unto_o they_o as_o we_o see_v saint_n paul_n command_v we_o too_o exalte_n ourselves_o against_o all_o thing_n present_a and_o too_o come_v so_o that_o we_o be_v full_o resolve_v that_o god_n love_v us._n when_o this_o shall_v be_v in_o we_o 8.38.39_o rom._n 8.38.39_o and_o we_o shall_v have_v hereof_o a_o good_a testimony_n in_o our_o own_o conscience_n through_o faith_n and_o the_o word_n of_o god_n loe_o how_o we_o may_v assure_v ourselves_o and_o great_o turmoil_v for_o any_o thing_n that_o may_v come_v unto_o we_o the_o next_o day_n and_o why_o so_o for_o have_v god_n who_o have_v declare_v himself_o unto_o we_o too_o be_v our_o father_n speak_v it_o but_o for_o a_o day_n only_o where_o as_o he_o have_v testify_v unto_o we_o that_o he_o will_v have_v our_o salvation_n in_o his_o hand_n be_v here_o any_o time_n lymit_v now_o we_o see_v too_o the_o contrary_a that_o god_n say_v that_o he_o will_v never_o forsake_v us._n our_o hope_n then_o

no_o man_n but_o will_v confess_v this_o at_o the_o tongue_n end_n but_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n for_o we_o to_o know_v this_o equity_n and_o truth_n which_o be_v contain_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n alas_o we_o be_v too_o too_o far_o off_o so_o then_o let_v every_o man_n look_v well_o unto_o himself_o and_o see_v whether_o his_o life_n be_v agreeable_a unto_o the_o word_n of_o god_n or_o be_v when_o we_o turn_v ourselves_o away_o from_o god_n and_o give_v ourselves_o whole_o to_o worldly_a thing_n they_o be_v so_o excessive_a and_o inordinate_a that_o it_o be_v even_o pitiful_a be_v without_o end_n and_o measure_n but_o if_o we_o have_v a_o lean_a desire_n &_o such_o a_o one_o as_o i_o know_v not_o what_o to_o walk_v according_a to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n this_o desire_n will_v be_v as_o soon_o allay_v as_o a_o drop_n of_o wine_n put_v into_o a_o hundred_o time_n so_o much_o water_n i_o beseech_v you_o what_o shall_v that_o be_v shall_v it_o taste_v any_o more_o as_o wine_n even_o so_o forcible_a shall_v the_o good_a affection_n of_o a_o faithful_a man_n be_v if_o this_o affection_n be_v not_o fervent_a and_o very_o vehement_a it_o shall_v be_v soon_o choke_v by_o the_o corruption_n of_o our_o carnal_a passion_n &_o affection_n which_o as_o i_o have_v before_o say_v have_v neither_o measure_n modesty_n nor_o temperance_n see_v then_o for_o the_o second_o point_n what_o we_o have_v here_o to_o note_v in_o this_o behalf_n to_o wit_n that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o that_o we_o have_v a_o mean_a desire_n to_o serve_v god_n for_o that_o will_v be_v very_o soon_o quench_v in_o we_o and_o be_v make_v nothing_o worth_a but_o we_o must_v be_v so_o attentive_a thereto_o as_o that_o we_o may_v able_a to_o say_v that_o our_o soul_n faint_v and_o languish_v that_o our_o power_n and_o strength_n drop_v and_o melt_v away_o as_o it_o be_v until_o such_o time_n as_o god_n relieve_v we_o in_o grant_v that_o unto_o we_o which_o we_o require_v of_o he_o the_o three_o point_n which_o we_o have_v here_o to_o note_v be_v the_o firmness_n and_o constancy_n in_o this_o our_o desire_n and_o see_v here_o why_o david_n be_v not_o content_v with_o this_o say_n that_o his_o soul_n be_v break_v out_o but_o he_o say_v always_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v this_o be_v not_o a_o blast_n of_o wound_n but_o a_o root_a affection_n in_o his_o heart_n and_o that_o he_o persevere_v therein_o now_o these_o three_o thing_n be_v most_o necessary_a for_o we_o see_v in_o the_o first_o place_n that_o we_o be_v as_o it_o be_v by_o nature_n incline_v to_o vanity_n because_o that_o be_v so_o addict_v unto_o the_o world_n we_o think_v no_o whit_n at_o all_o of_o heaven_n we_o ought_v therefore_o to_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o very_a attentive_a to_o this_o doctrine_n &_o to_o have_v a_o burn_a desire_n to_o follow_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o beside_o this_o our_o affection_n ought_v to_o be_v so_o vehement_a as_o that_o it_o may_v be_v able_a to_o have_v the_o dominion_n over_o all_o our_o affection_n which_o hinder_v we_o to_o cleave_v unto_o our_o god_n and_o even_o to_o be_v marvelous_o ravish_v therewith_o now_o it_o have_v need_v to_o be_v mighty_o strengthen_v with_o the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n for_o our_o lust_n be_v too_o too_o mad_a and_o furious_a if_o god_n stretch_v not_o forth_o his_o arm_n unto_o it_o what_o shall_v become_v thereof_o and_o put_v the_o case_n that_o we_o have_v a_o good_a desire_n sure_o it_o will_v very_o soon_o vanish_v away_o in_o us._n we_o must_v be_v wonderful_a fervent_a therein_o and_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v much_o more_o heedful_a than_o we_o be_v of_o all_o the_o benefit_n of_o god_n too_o the_o end_n we_o may_v come_v too_o this_o consideration_n of_o the_o reason_n which_o david_n here_o bring_v in_o too_o wit_n that_o we_o may_v say_v untoo_o god_n that_o he_o have_v hear_v us._n now_o there_o be_v very_o few_o of_o we_o that_o can_v do_v this_o and_o why_o so_o because_o that_o when_o we_o be_v in_o any_o distress_n we_o never_o think_v to_o call_v upon_o god_n yea_o although_o the_o grief_n or_o disease_n press_v and_o grieve_v we_o never_o so_o much_o and_o yet_o if_o we_o do_v then_o call_v upon_o he_o it_o be_v so_o that_o assoon_o as_o we_o have_v escape_v the_o danger_n we_o will_v not_o acknowledge_v it_o too_o be_v god_n that_o have_v have_v pity_n and_o compassion_n upon_o we_o but_o be_v quite_o out_o of_o memory_n and_o tread_v clean_o under_o foot_n by_o cause_n then_o we_o remember_v not_o the_o benefit_n of_o god_n loe_o what_o be_v see_v that_o all_o the_o assurance_n and_o certainty_n which_o we_o ought_v to_o have_v in_o our_o prayer_n to_o god_n be_v to_o look_v unto_o that_o which_o he_o have_v promise_v us._n for_o they_o which_o trust_v unto_o themselves_o and_o think_v there_o be_v sufficient_a in_o they_o why_o god_n shall_v hear_v they_o it_o be_v most_o sure_a that_o they_o shall_v never_o open_v their_o mouth_n to_o desire_v any_o thing_n of_o god_n or_o if_o they_o do_v it_o shall_v be_v all_o but_o mere_a hypocrisy_n as_o in_o popery_n where_o we_o be_v not_o teach_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n true_a it_o be_v that_o they_o will_v babble_v much_o mumble_v over_o a_o number_n of_o pater_n noster_n with_o a_o mixture_n of_o ave_n yea_o and_o will_v also_o direct_v their_o paternoster_n to_o the_o puppet_n of_o s._n agatha_n or_o some_o other_o saint_n as_o if_o it_o be_v too_o god_n now_o this_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o beastly_a to_o profane_v the_o name_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o i_o have_v say_v that_o the_o principale_a point_n that_o we_o ought_v to_o use_v in_o pray_v unto_o god_n be_v to_o lay_v before_o he_o his_o promise_n say_v o_o lord_n god_n it_o be_v true_a that_o we_o right_o deserve_v to_o be_v reject_v of_o thou_o but_o see_v thou_o invite_v and_o call_v we_o shall_v we_o go_v from_o thou_o be_v it_o not_o meet_v that_o we_o shall_v do_v thou_o this_o honour_n to_o a_o number_n of_o wicked_a thought_n and_o imagination_n which_o may_v always_o wicked_o lead_v he_o from_o the_o right_a way_n except_o god_n have_v hold_v he_o with_o his_o mighty_a and_o strong_a hand_n and_o this_o be_v a_o point_n which_o we_o ought_v here_o right_o to_o note_v for_o we_o see_v how_o man_n great_o abuse_v themselves_o when_o any_o of_o we_o shall_v have_v have_v a_o good_a beginning_n we_o straight_o way_n think_v that_o we_o be_v at_o the_o high_a we_o never_o bethink_v we_o too_o pray_v any_o more_o to_o god_n when_o as_o he_o have_v show_v we_o that_o favour_n too_o serve_v our_o turn_n but_o if_o we_o have_v do_v any_o small_a deed_n we_o by_o and_o by_o lift_v up_o our_o sail_n and_o wonder_v at_o our_o great_a virtue_n to_o be_v short_a we_o think_v straightway_o that_o the_o devil_n can_v win_v no_o more_o of_o us._n this_o foolish_a arrogancy_n cause_v god_n to_o let_v we_o go_v astray_o so_o that_o we_o fall_v mighty_o yea_o that_o we_o break_v both_o arm_n and_o leg_n and_o be_v in_o great_a hazard_n of_o break_v our_o neck_n i_o speak_v not_o now_o of_o our_o natural_a body_n but_o of_o the_o soul_n let_v we_o look_v upon_o david_n and_o security_n in_o david_n and_o see_v also_o wherefore_o he_o say_v alas_o my_o good_a god_n i_o beseech_v thou_o so_o to_o guide_v i_o that_o i_o may_v forsake_v the_o way_n of_o lying_n this_o be_v the_o whole_a sum_n that_o david_n although_o he_o exceed_o profit_v in_o the_o law_n and_o word_n of_o god_n acknowledge_v that_o he_o be_v subject_a and_o apt_a to_o be_v carry_v away_o and_o thy_o power_n and_o might_n and_o again_o how_o many_o be_v our_o enemy_n which_o molest_v and_o grieve_v we_o how_o mighty_a and_o strong_a be_v the_o devil_n how_o great_a and_o infinite_a be_v the_o mean_n wherewith_o he_o assayl_v we_o and_o when_o he_o shall_v assail_v we_o with_o his_o dart_n and_o arrow_n it_o be_v impossible_a for_o we_o too_o escape_v they_o we_o shall_v become_v then_o like_a unto_o the_o lamb_n in_o the_o throat_n of_o the_o lyon_n when_o we_o shall_v thus_o have_v understand_v these_o our_o want_n and_o need_v then_o may_v we_o say_v with_o david_n o_o lord_n take_v from_o i_o the_o way_n of_o lie_v now_o he_o show_v the_o remedy_n when_o he_o say_v cause_v i_o to_o make_v much_o of_o thy_o law_n or_o grant_v i_o thy_o grace_n that_o i_o may_v keep_v thy_o law_n for_o the_o word_n which_o david_n use_v import_v mere_a favour_n and_o free_a gift_n as_o if_o the_o shall_v have_v say_v it_o come_v of_o thy_o mere_a favour_n and_o grace_n that_o thou_o give_v i_o thy_o law_n see_v here_o the_o remedy_n which_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n use_v when_o he_o will_v withdraw_v we_o from_o the_o law_n of_o lie_v to_o wit_n that_o we_o shall_v keep_v his_o truth_n for_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n be_v sufficient_o able_a to_o encounter_v all_o the_o subtlety_n and_o sly_a practice_n of_o satan_n to_o withstand_v all_o temptation_n and_o to_o vanquishe_v and_o overcome_v all_o the_o lust_n of_o our_o flesh_n the_o truth_n of_o god_n then_o will_v suffice_v against_o all_o this_o and_o this_o be_v it_o which_o saint_n paul_n speak_v of_o etc._n ephe._n 6.10.11_o 12_o etc._n etc._n that_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v stir_v doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o then_o we_o shall_v have_v wherewithal_o too_o be_v justy_a and_o strong_a and_o become_v valiant_a champion_n too_o fight_v under_o thensigne_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o triumph_n over_o all_o our_o enemy_n so_o then_o will_v we_o be_v far_o from_o hypocrisy_n will_v we_o be_v deliver_v from_o lie_v from_o all_o the_o subtlety_n of_o satan_n and_o from_o all_o the_o deceit_n of_o the_o world_n let_v we_o beseech_v god_n then_o to_o grant_v we_o his_o law_n and_o to_o do_v we_o that_o good_a that_o we_o may_v be_v instruct_v therein_o as_o we_o be_v here_o teach_v by_o the_o example_n of_o david_n now_o after_o all_o this_o he_o make_v his_o protestation_n that_o he_o have_v choose_v the_o way_n of_o truth_n and_o have_v cleaven_n unto_o the_o testimony_n of_o god_n that_o he_o have_v follow_v his_o judgement_n and_o hereupon_o he_o beseech_v he_o not_o too_o be_v confound_v here_o now_o we_o see_v that_o when_o we_o beseech_v god_n to_o give_v we_o his_o law_n to_o deliver_v we_o from_o temptation_n to_o suffer_v we_o not_o too_o be_v deceive_v neither_o by_o satan_n nor_o the_o world_n that_o we_o do_v it_o with_o such_o a_o true_a desire_n as_o david_n show_v we_o here_o in_o this_o place_n for_o there_o be_v many_o which_o may_v say_v with_o their_o mouth_n o_o lord_n i_o
establish_v thy_o promise_n to_o thy_o servant_n because_o he_o fear_v thou_o take_v away_o thy_o rebuke_n that_o i_o be_o afraid_a off_o for_o thy_o judgemente_n be_v good_a behold_v i_o desire_v thy_o commandment_n quicken_v i_o in_o thy_o righteousness_n these_o eight_o verse_n here_o contain_v the_o prayer_n which_o we_o have_v already_o before_o see_v to_o wit_n that_o david_n pray_v too_o preach_v unto_o we_o that_o the_o same_o be_v as_o it_o be_v from_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n but_o we_o must_v also_o be_v teach_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n yea_o and_o that_o two_o manner_n of_o way_n for_o when_o god_n shall_v have_v enlighten_v we_o to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v know_v that_o it_o come_v from_o he_o it_o behoove_v that_o he_o imprinte_v in_o our_o heart_n a_o desire_n too_o cleave_v unto_o it_o for_o without_o that_o we_o shall_v do_v clean_o contrary_a as_o natural_o we_o be_v incline_v so_o then_o although_o it_o be_v not_o superfluous_a too_o read_v and_o hear_v yet_o will_v it_o profit_v we_o nothing_o at_o all_o except_o the_o holy_a ghost_n teach_v we_o yea_o and_o that_o to_o discern_v aswell_o between_o good_a and_o evil_a as_o also_o to_o be_v well_o and_o right_o affect_v too_o walk_v according_a to_o the_o commandment_n of_o god._n which_o thing_n be_v sufficient_o confirm_v unto_o we_o in_o the_o person_n of_o david_n for_o as_o we_o have_v heretofore_o declare_v he_o be_v a_o most_o excellent_a prophet_n now_o it_o appear_v that_o he_o be_v not_o only_o sufficient_o instruct_v for_o himself_o but_o god_n have_v also_o ordain_v he_o too_o govern_v and_o instruct_v other_o this_o be_v the_o doctor_n of_o the_o whole_a church_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o he_o confess_v himself_o too_o be_v utter_o ignorant_a and_o blind_a except_o god_n direct_v he_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n yea_o and_o he_o declare_v unto_o we_o most_o plain_o that_o he_o have_v need_n of_o these_o two_o part_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n here_o by_o we_o touch_v to_o wit_n to_o be_v teach_v too_o know_v that_o which_o be_v good_a and_o afterward_o too_o have_v his_o mind_n frame_v to_o continue_v therein_o this_o circumstance_n also_o be_v special_o too_o be_v note_v that_o david_n in_o make_v his_o request_n herein_o contain_v be_v no_o novice_n for_o god_n have_v already_o instruct_v he_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o that_o which_o be_v more_o he_o declare_v that_o he_o have_v already_o desire_v too_o follow_v god_n and_o too_o obey_v his_o commandment_n wherefore_o then_o be_v it_o that_o he_o pray_v afreshe_v but_o only_o that_o he_o feel_v in_o himself_o great_a weakness_n in_o this_o point_n and_o that_o he_o be_v but_o in_o the_o mid_a way_n let_v we_o they_o understand_v that_o even_o they_o which_o be_v enlighten_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n &_o be_v well_o affect_v ought_v not_o to_o content_v themselves_o herewith_o as_o if_o they_o be_v already_o come_v to_o a_o full_a perfection_n but_o rather_o to_o acknowledge_v their_o weakness_n that_o they_o be_v not_o grow_v to_o that_o forwardness_n but_o that_o they_o may_v fail_v and_o that_o it_o be_v god_n which_o cause_v they_o to_o persevere_v and_o to_o be_v more_o and_o more_o confirm_v loe_o here_o what_o we_o have_v yet_o to_o observe_v by_o the_o example_n of_o david_n now_o let_v we_o follow_v the_o word_n which_o he_o use_v to_o the_o end_n the_o effect_n of_o this_o doctrine_n may_v the_o better_o be_v imprint_v in_o our_o memory_n teach_v i_o o_o lord_n the_o way_n of_o thy_o statute_n and_o i_o will_v keep_v it_o unto_o the_o end_n here_o david_n declare_v that_o he_o have_v well_o begin_v to_o serve_v god_n but_o he_o right_o well_o feel_v that_o we_o be_v so_o frail_a that_o we_o can_v never_o come_v home_o to_o the_o mark_n without_o god_n strengthen_v we_o wherefore_o he_o have_v recourse_n unto_o this_o high_a &_o mighty_a power_n by_o which_o god_n remedi_v the_o vice_n that_o be_v in_o his_o choose_a which_o he_o know_v not_o to_o be_v in_o their_o nature_n we_o see_v then_o that_o when_o god_n stretch_v out_o his_o hand_n unto_o we_o so_o that_o we_o have_v already_o be_v instructer_n bring_v he_o into_o the_o way_n of_o salvation_n yea_o and_o have_v bestow_v upon_o he_o excellent_a grace_n but_o yet_o he_o know_v that_o he_o may_v err_v a_o hundred_o time_n in_o a_o minute_n law_n yea_o for_o ever_o and_o ever_o and_o i_o will_v walk_v at_o liberty_n for_o i_o seek_v thy_o commandment_n i_o will_v speak_v of_o thy_o testimony_n also_o even_o before_o king_n and_o will_v not_o be_v ashamed_a and_o my_o delight_n shall_v be_v in_o thy_o commandment_n which_o i_o have_v love_v my_o hand_n also_o will_v i_o lift_v up_o unto_o thy_o commandment_n which_o i_o have_v love_v and_o my_o study_n shall_v be_v in_o thy_o statute_n the_o beginning_n of_o these_o eight_o verse_n contain_v a_o request_n which_o david_n make_v unto_o god_n that_o he_o feel_v the_o accomplishment_n and_o performance_n or_o the_o promise_n which_o god_n grant_v unto_o he_o and_o after_o which_o he_o hope_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v o_o lord_n declare_v unto_o i_o that_o the_o promise_n which_o thou_o have_v make_v unto_o i_o to_o do_v i_o so_o much_o good_a be_v not_o in_o vain_a but_o that_o thou_o will_v make_v i_o feel_v in_o deed_n that_o thy_o word_n and_o promise_n be_v most_o certain_a and_o true_a now_o that_o he_o found_v himself_o upon_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n appear_v by_o his_o thus_o say_v and_o let_v thy_o love_a kindness_n come_v unto_o i_o o_o lord_n and_o thy_o salvation_n according_a to_o thy_o promise_n so_o shall_v i_o make_v answer_n unto_o my_o blasphemer_n for_o my_o trust_n be_v in_o thy_o word_n wherein_o also_o we_o see_v that_o satan_n crafty_o go_v about_o to_o overthrow_v his_o faith_n as_o if_o god_n have_v make_v it_o nothing_o worth_a so_o then_o first_o of_o all_o we_o be_v to_o note_v that_o david_n feel_v himself_o press_v down_o run_v unto_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n and_o this_o be_v a_o point_n very_o profitable_a for_o us._n for_o behold_v how_o we_o must_v put_v the_o word_n of_o god_n in_o practice_n when_o as_o we_o have_v learn_v it_o that_o when_o we_o come_v to_o the_o fight_n and_o satan_n assail_v we_o on_o every_o side_n in_o such_o sort_n as_o that_o it_o may_v seem_v that_o all_o the_o world_n have_v conspire_v against_o we_o and_o that_o we_o see_v nothing_o but_o destruction_n round_o about_o even_o then_o i_o say_v must_v we_o run_v unto_o the_o promise_n which_o god_n have_v make_v we_o and_o make_v account_v of_o they_o and_o so_o apply_v they_o to_o our_o own_o use_n that_o then_o we_o may_v feel_v the_o power_n and_o strength_n of_o they_o now_o it_o shall_v be_v a_o easy_a matter_n for_o we_o when_o as_o we_o be_v at_o rest_n and_o quiet_a to_o receive_v whatsoever_o god_n have_v say_v unto_o us._n and_o why_o so_o because_o our_o faith_n all_o that_o while_n shall_v not_o be_v exercise_v and_o trouble_v so_o that_o we_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o feel_v whether_o we_o have_v believe_v in_o good_a earnest_n until_o such_o time_n as_o we_o be_v try_v loe_o why_o i_o have_v say_v that_o this_o place_n be_v worthy_a the_o mark_v that_o david_n speak_v not_o with_o out_o cause_n when_o he_o say_v so_o shall_v i_o make_v answer_n unto_o those_o that_o go_v about_o to_o shane_v i_o for_o by_o these_o word_n he_o protest_v that_o the_o wicked_a contemn_v despise_a &_o mock_v he_o as_o if_o he_o have_v be_v a_o very_a fool_n in_o trust_v so_o much_o unto_o god_n but_o yet_o for_o that_o his_o faith_n be_v not_o shake_v and_o see_v how_o satan_n assayl_v we_o with_o temptation_n when_o as_o the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a speak_v reproachful_a word_n of_o we_o insomuch_o as_o we_o have_v think_v it_o to_o be_v wonder_a strange_a gear_n because_o that_o we_o have_v hear_v the_o so_o honourable_a &_o excellent_a promise_n of_o god_n think_v ourselves_o straightways_o to_o be_v rapte_v and_o carry_v above_o the_o cloud_n and_o yet_o this_o same_o our_o persuasion_n prove_v nothing_o at_o all_o so_o as_o it_o make_v a_o show_n to_o the_o outward_a appearance_n even_o so_o likewise_o come_v it_o to_o pass_v in_o david_n as_o we_o may_v especial_o see_v in_o the_o twenty_o and_o two_o psalm_n and_o our_o saviour_n christ_n also_o who_o be_v the_o very_a true_a pattern_n and_o mirror_n of_o all_o the_o child_n of_o god_n have_v sustain_v &_o abiden_v such_o combat_n very_o well_o say_v they_o unto_o he_o he_o trust_v in_o god_n let_v he_o now_o see_v whether_o god_n will_v hear_v he_o or_o not_o let_v we_o then_o note_n that_o david_n have_v not_o devise_v and_o make_v here_o any_o vain_a speculation_n as_o a_o idle_a body_n may_v do_v which_o never_o have_v be_v tempt_v nor_o distress_v but_o be_v so_o mock_v by_o his_o enemy_n that_o his_o faith_n seem_v to_o be_v overthrow_v and_o he_o himself_o in_o great_a hazard_n utter_o to_o be_v destroy_v then_o come_v he_o for_o refuge_n to_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n say_v my_o god_n thou_o haste_v give_v i_o thy_o word_n which_o can_v fail_v i_o loe_o wherein_o be_v all_o hope_n and_o trust_v even_o so_o also_o ought_v we_o to_o follow_v this_o doctrine_n too_o wit_n when_o the_o world_n on_o the_o oneside_n shall_v deride_v and_o scorn_v we_o because_o we_o have_v over_o light_o credit_v god_n and_o that_o satan_n shall_v travel_v all_o he_o can_v too_o turn_v we_o clean_o away_o from_o the_o certainty_n which_o we_o have_v have_v yet_o let_v we_o not_o cease_v too_o say_v o_o lord_n it_o be_v thou_o which_o have_v speak_v and_o in_o thou_o be_v all_o our_o hope_n and_o trust_v moreover_o as_o we_o be_v to_o call_v too_o mind_n the_o promise_n of_o god_n when_o as_o we_o be_v assail_v by_o satan_n and_o the_o ungodly_a let_v we_o also_o note_n as_o have_v be_v heretofore_o treat_v of_o that_o this_o be_v it_o whereon_o we_o must_v build_v all_o our_o request_n for_o if_o we_o will_v earnest_o pray_v unto_o god_n and_o obtain_v that_o which_o we_o pray_v for_o we_o must_v not_o pray_v in_o the_o air_n &_o say_v o_o lord_n i_o pray_v unto_o thou_o for_o such_o a_o thing_n and_o i_o will_v it_o may_v so_o come_v to_o pass_v for_o this_o be_v over_o rash_a and_o too_o too_o great_a boldness_n to_o think_v to_o make_v god_n subject_a to_o our_o will_n to_o briddle_v he_o as_o we_o listen_v and_o to_o desire_v he_o to_o grant_n we_o whatsoever_o shall_v please_v our_o appetite_n but_o it_o be_v his_o word_n that_o must_v lead_v we_o and_o be_v our_o cresset_n and_o we_o must_v refer_v
ourselves_o whole_o to_o it_o and_o altogether_o rest_v thereon_o behold_v say_v i_o after_o what_o sort_n our_o prayer_n be_v allow_v to_o wit_n when_o as_o we_o pray_v not_o to_o god_n for_o that_o which_o seem_v best_a in_o our_o own_o eye_n but_o when_o as_o we_o be_v fence_v with_o that_o which_o he_o have_v promise_v us._n and_o this_o be_v it_o wherein_o we_o differ_v from_o the_o painime_n and_o infidel_n for_o we_o see_v that_o the_o turk_n and_o idolater_n do_v great_o pray_v unto_o god_n but_o after_o what_o manner_n pray_v they_o forsooth_o even_o at_o all_o adventure_n so_o that_o they_o know_v not_o what_o they_o do_v but_o contrariwise_o we_o must_v pray_v unto_o he_o with_o full_a assurance_n that_o he_o will_v hear_v us._n but_o from_o whence_o shall_v this_o certainty_n proceed_v if_o we_o have_v not_o the_o truth_n to_o go_v before_o we_o and_o say_v behold_v the_o lord_n who_o call_v we_o unto_o he_o and_o then_o when_o we_o come_v unto_o he_o this_o be_v no_o foolish_a presumption_n but_o we_o come_v in_o such_o sort_n unto_o he_o as_o he_o have_v command_v us._n let_v we_o then_o see_v what_o we_o have_v yet_o to_o note_v in_o this_o place_n when_o david_n set_v down_o here_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n by_o which_o he_o be_v bind_v unto_o he_o o_o lord_n say_v he_o let_v it_o be_v do_v unto_o i_o according_a to_o thy_o word_n now_o here_o be_v a_o very_a profitable_a point_n to_o be_v consider_v off_o to_o wit_n after_o that_o we_o be_v once_o assure_v that_o god_n have_v promise_v too_o do_v that_o for_o we_o which_o we_o shall_v ask_v of_o he_o we_o must_v no_o more_o doubt_n that_o it_o shall_v be_v so_o but_o that_o the_o thing_n be_v full_o conclude_v upon_o so_o that_o we_o be_v ever_o sure_a and_o certain_a thereof_o for_o when_o god_n speak_v unto_o we_o we_o be_v very_o sure_a that_o he_o will_v not_o deceive_v we_o he_o will_v not_o give_v we_o fair_a word_n and_o then_o deceive_v we_o as_o man_n many_o time_n do_v deal_v very_o liberal_o with_o their_o tongue_n but_o yet_o notwithstanding_o very_o close_o fist_v but_o god_n deal_v not_o in_o such_o sort_n let_v we_o then_o come_v before_o he_o without_o distrust_n have_v we_o his_o word_n let_v we_o then_o hold_v the_o thing_n as_o already_o perform_v and_o so_o when_o david_n say_v according_a to_o thy_o word_n he_o signify_v unto_o we_o that_o he_o be_v not_o only_o assure_v that_o god_n be_v faithful_a and_o liberal_a that_o he_o mean_v not_o to_o abuse_v we_o when_o as_o we_o trust_v to_o he_o but_o show_v we_o that_o this_o certainty_n which_o we_o have_v of_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n shall_v not_o make_v we_o weary_a to_o say_v that_o we_o be_v as_o it_o be_v even_o overwhelm_v but_o we_o must_v rather_o be_v careful_a and_o diligent_a to_o pray_v unto_o he_o there_o be_v some_o man_n which_o will_v in_o deed_n say_v that_o they_o believe_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n but_o since_o say_v they_o he_o know_v what_o we_o have_v need_n of_o what_o need_v we_o to_o be_v importune_a upon_o he_o now_o these_o man_n indeed_o very_o well_o declare_v that_o they_o never_o understand_v what_o faith_n and_o hope_n be_v for_o if_o we_o receive_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n without_o hypocrisy_n we_o ought_v to_o be_v thus_o earnest_a and_o zealous_a to_o pray_v and_o have_v recourse_n unto_o he_o say_v o_o lord_n god_n when_o as_o thou_o have_v assure_v i_o of_o thy_o bounty_n and_o mercy_n it_o be_v to_o this_o end_n that_o i_o shall_v call_v upon_o thou_o in_o my_o need_n and_o that_o i_o see_v the_o necessity_n which_o urge_v and_o press_v i_o i_o must_v needs_o come_v unto_o thou_o as_o thou_o haste_v call_v i_o by_o thy_o word_n behold_v then_o that_o all_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n shall_v serve_v we_o in_o stead_n of_o so_o many_o spur_n to_o prick_v we_o forward_o in_o make_v our_o prayer_n unto_o he_o let_v we_o now_o come_v to_o the_o word_n of_o david_n let_v thy_o love_a mercy_n or_o thy_o grace_n come_v unto_o i_o o_o lord_n and_o thy_o salvation_n after_o that_o he_o have_v lay_v his_o foundation_n whereupon_o too_o build_v he_o desire_v oneself_o same_o thing_n in_o two_o word_n which_o to_o the_o outward_a appearance_n be_v diverse_a and_o sundry_a to_o wit_n the_o grace_n of_o god_n and_o his_o salvation_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o david_n mean_v nothing_o else_o but_o that_o god_n will_v show_v himself_o to_o be_v his_o saviour_n neither_o be_v there_o any_o thing_n here_o speak_v superfluous_o for_o it_o be_v asmuch_o as_n if_o he_o have_v say_v o_o my_o god_n i_o beseech_v thou_o that_o according_a to_o thy_o promise_n thou_o will_v make_v i_o feel_v thou_o to_o be_v my_o saviour_n and_o father_n but_o yet_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n he_o express_v unto_o we_o whence_o this_o salvation_n which_o we_o must_v wait_v for_o and_o which_o god_n have_v promise_v we_o come_v and_o that_o be_v of_o his_o mere_a good_a will_n for_o man_n can_v otherwise_o choose_v but_o that_o they_o will_v ever_o wrongful_o take_v upon_o they_o some_o thing_n or_o other_o which_o appertain_v nothing_o unto_o they_o and_o always_o to_o be_v foolish_o and_o arrogant_o bind_v unto_o themselves_o now_o david_n clean_o contrary_a show_v here_o that_o all_o the_o salvation_n which_o he_o hope_v after_o &_o desire_v come_v from_o another_o springheade_n then_o from_o the_o virtue_n and_o dignity_n of_o man_n to_o wit_n even_o from_o the_o mere_a goodness_n of_o god_n so_o then_o we_o see_v that_o as_o before_o he_o have_v speak_v of_o the_o promise_n even_o so_o also_o he_o here_o add_v and_o express_v the_o cause_n which_o move_v god_n to_o bind_v himself_o so_o unto_o we_o to_o wit_n his_o mere_a mercy_n by_o this_o we_o be_v admonish_v that_o when_o we_o be_v to_o call_v upon_o god_n we_o shall_v always_o have_v regard_n unto_o these_o two_o thing_n to_o wit_n the_o grace_n of_o god_n and_o his_o free_a mercy_n and_o after_o that_o his_o promise_n god_n be_v good_a and_o liberal_a and_o see_v why_o it_o be_v that_o he_o with_o pity_n look_v upon_o we_o and_o behold_v we_o with_o his_o eye_n of_o compassion_n vouchsafe_v to_o receive_v we_o yea_o and_o call_v and_o allure_v we_o unto_o he_o and_o also_o imbolden_v we_o to_o crave_v of_o he_o to_o the_o end_n he_o will_v help_v and_o succour_v we_o in_o all_o our_o need_n and_o necessity_n now_o this_o goodness_n shall_v lie_v hide_v in_o god_n be_v it_o not_o that_o he_o make_v we_o to_o feel_v it_o by_o his_o promise_n for_o god_n show_v himself_o unto_o we_o to_o be_v such_o a_o one_o as_o in_o deed_n he_o be_v he_o lay_v his_o heart_n wide_o open_a when_o he_o render_v we_o a_o testimony_n of_o the_o love_n he_o bear_v us._n loe_o here_o why_o i_o have_v say_v that_o in_o all_o our_o prayer_n we_o ought_v to_o have_v these_o two_o consideration_n the_o one_o be_v that_o god_n be_v so_o good_a and_o love_a that_o although_o we_o be_v poor_a and_o miserable_a creature_n and_o nothing_o else_o but_o dung_n and_o stench_n yet_o for_o all_o that_o he_o cease_v not_o too_o love_v we_o and_o to_o have_v great_a care_n of_o our_o salvation_n and_o since_o we_o be_v come_v too_o the_o promise_n which_o be_v a_o sure_a testimony_n that_o god_n be_v such_o one_o we_o shall_v no_o more_o doubt_v what_o affection_n he_o bear_v we_o whether_o he_o be_v our_o friend_n or_o enemy_n see_v it_o be_v so_o that_o he_o be_v very_o well_o willing_a to_o be_v bind_v unto_o we_o in_o declare_v unto_o we_o that_o he_o be_v our_o father_n and_o take_v we_o to_o be_v his_o child_n now_o david_n make_v such_o a_o request_n as_o we_o have_v already_o touch_v to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v answer_v those_o which_o wrought_v he_o shame_n although_o he_o say_v word_n for_o word_n to_o the_o end_n i_o may_v answer_v these_o which_o work_v i_o shame_n here_o david_n declare_v that_o when_o god_n shall_v have_v aid_v he_o that_o then_o he_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o withstand_v all_o his_o enemy_n put_v by_o all_o the_o injury_n &_o scorn_n of_o the_o unbeliever_n and_o faithless_a which_o they_o do_v lay_v before_o he_o to_o the_o end_n too_o shake_v and_o crush_v the_o faithful_a and_o to_o destroy_v they_o yea_o and_o utter_o to_o make_v their_o faith_n nothing_o worth_a if_o it_o be_v possible_a for_o they_o to_o do_v it_o by_o this_o we_o be_v let_v to_o understande_v that_o if_o we_o make_v our_o prayer_n to_o god_n whensoever_o it_o shall_v happen_v all_o the_o world_n too_o assail_v we_o and_o that_o it_o may_v seem_v we_o shall_v be_v plunge_v in_o hell_n a_o hundred_o thousand_o time_n yet_o
we_o may_v stand_v sure_a against_o all_o our_o enemy_n yea_o very_o for_o god_n will_v never_o fail_v we_o whensoever_o we_o shall_v desire_v &_o pray_v he_o to_o perform_v his_o promise_n unto_o we_o and_o make_v we_o feel_v his_o goodness_n for_o our_o salvation_n moreover_o if_o we_o have_v wherewithal_o too_o resist_v the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a which_o come_v upon_o we_o too_o daunt_v and_o quail_v our_o faith_n we_o shall_v have_v also_o wherewith_o to_o withstand_v satan_n for_o when_o man_n shall_v persecute_v we_o or_o deride_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n and_o labour_v all_o they_o may_v to_o turn_v we_o away_o from_o they_o it_o come_v not_o of_o themselves_o but_o it_o be_v the_o devil_n which_o push_v they_o forward_o even_o so_o then_o we_o may_v fight_v and_o win_v the_o victory_n against_o all_o the_o combat_n of_o satan_n if_o we_o will_v pray_v unto_o god_n after_o the_o example_n of_o david_n this_o be_v also_o to_o be_v consider_v and_o note_v which_o here_o he_o add_v when_o he_o say_v my_o delight_n be_v in_o thy_o word_n he_o declare_v what_o sign_n and_o token_n he_o desire_v of_o god_n here_o before_o that_o he_o will_v do_v unto_o he_o as_o he_o have_v promise_v for_o i_o have_v delight_n therein_o say_v he_o will_v we_o then_o have_v god_n his_o promise_n to_o take_v place_n in_o we_o to_o open_v the_o gate_n that_o we_o may_v come_v untoo_o he_o that_o they_o may_v be_v as_o key_n too_o give_v we_o in_o entry_n too_o the_o end_n our_o request_n and_o petition_n may_v be_v receive_v we_o must_v then_o join_v hope_n therewith_o and_o lo_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o we_o feel_v not_o the_o power_n of_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n as_o we_o ought_v the_o reason_n be_v for_o that_o we_o have_v no_o hope_n nor_o trust_v in_o they_o it_o be_v most_o true_a that_o god_n for_o his_o part_n be_v always_o true_a of_o his_o word_n and_o although_o we_o be_v miserable_a faithless_a people_n yet_o will_v he_o never_o falsify_v his_o faith_n which_o he_o have_v give_v to_o us._n but_o what_o sure_o we_o be_v unwoorthy_a one_o too_o feel_v such_o a_o pleasure_n in_o very_a deed_n god_n have_v promise_v to_o pour_v his_o grace_n upon_o we_o as_o also_o he_o offer_v it_o untoo_o we_o but_o yet_o be_v we_o utter_o unworthy_a thereof_o without_o we_o believe_v his_o promise_n will_v we_o that_o god_n shall_v do_v unto_o we_o according_a to_o his_o word_n we_o must_v then_o receive_v his_o word_n and_o embrace_v it_o by_o faith_n 2._o heb._n 4._o 2._o as_o also_o the_o apostle_n treat_v thereof_o and_o thus_o much_o as_o touch_v these_o two_o first_o verse_n now_o it_o follow_v take_v not_o the_o word_n of_o thy_o truth_n utter_o out_o of_o my_o mouth_n for_o i_o wait_v for_o thy_o judgement_n when_o david_n say_v o_o take_v not_o the_o word_n of_o thy_o truth_n out_o of_o my_o mouth_n he_o mean_v not_o that_o it_o suffice_v too_o magnify_v god_n with_o his_o tongue_n and_o to_o make_v many_o goodly_a protestation_n before_o the_o world_n but_o he_o presuppose_v that_o when_o he_o have_v witness_v of_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n with_o his_o mouth_n that_o it_o must_v also_o be_v graff_v within_o his_o heart_n and_o in_o deed_n david_n speak_v not_o here_o like_o a_o hypocrite_n as_o they_o do_v which_o will_v seem_v to_o make_v a_o goodly_a show_n before_o he_o and_o think_v themselves_o well_o enough_o and_o in_o good_a case_n when_o as_o they_o be_v open_o suppose_v too_o be_v very_o faithful_a well_o think_v off_o and_o take_v to_o be_v very_o honest_a man_n this_o think_v they_o be_v all_o that_o be_v to_o be_v require_v but_o david_n have_v not_o proceed_v after_o this_o manner_n for_o when_o he_o say_v take_v not_o the_o word_n of_o thy_o truth_n out_o of_o my_o month_n o_o lord_n it_o be_v asmuch_o as_n if_o he_o have_v fayde_v o_o lord_n do_v i_o not_o only_o this_o grace_n that_o i_o trust_v secret_o in_o thou_o that_o i_o stay_v i_o upon_o thy_o promise_n that_o i_o stand_v sure_a against_o all_o the_o assault_n of_o my_o enemy_n but_o namely_o and_o chief_o even_o before_o the_o face_n of_o man_n that_o my_o faith_n may_v declare_v itself_o that_o by_o this_o mean_a i_o may_v guide_v and_o instruct_v all_o those_o which_o will_v come_v unto_o thou_o &_o contrariwise_o that_o i_o may_v withstand_v all_o those_o which_o shall_v go_v about_o to_o overthrow_v this_o spiritual_a hope_n of_o i_o which_o i_o have_v in_o thou_o and_o in_o thy_o truth_n and_o when_o thou_o o_o lord_n shall_v have_v deep_o root_v thy_o word_n in_o my_o heart_n let_v it_o also_o be_v often_o time_n in_o my_o mouth_n that_o i_o may_v magnify_v thy_o name_n before_o man_n we_o have_v to_o learn_v out_o of_o this_o place_n that_o in_o the_o first_o place_n we_o must_v be_v assure_v of_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n yea_o although_o that_o man_n perceive_v it_o not_o we_o and_o again_o although_o every_o man_n will_v keep_v it_o so_o secret_a too_o himself_o as_o that_o no_o god_n moreover_o david_n speak_v here_o of_o the_o wicked_a call_v they_o the_o proud_a neither_o do_v he_o so_o entitle_v they_o without_o cause_n for_o it_o be_v the_o property_n of_o all_o those_o which_o trust_v not_o in_o god_n for_o it_o can_v not_o be_v choose_v but_o that_o a_o man_n which_o put_v not_o his_o trust_n in_o god_n must_v needs_o grow_v proud_a and_o swell_v therewith_o like_o a_o toad_n and_o why_o so_o for_o when_o man_n do_v know_v themselves_o to_o be_v such_o as_o in_o deed_n they_o be_v they_o must_v needs_o be_v cast_v down_o and_o humble_v and_o this_o common_a of_o he_o loe_o the_o combatte_n wherewith_o satan_n daily_o assail_v us._n when_o as_o the_o ungodly_a do_v see_v the_o child_n of_o god_n in_o any_o misery_n and_o calamity_n they_o rush_v even_o only_o to_o know_v whether_o god_n be_v faithful_a and_o that_o his_o truth_n be_v everlasting_a for_o to_o prove_v it_o to_o be_v so_o we_o see_v that_o neither_o heaven_n nor_o earth_n but_o be_v subject_a too_o corruption_n and_o that_o all_o must_v pass_v only_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v say_v too_o last_o for_o ever_o and_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v so_o for_o else_o what_o shall_v because_o it_o be_v god_n his_o will_v it_o shall_v be_v so_o what_o shall_v we_o then_o say_v of_o his_o truth_n which_o surpass_v all_o the_o world_n when_o then_o we_o shall_v make_v such_o a_o comparison_n between_o the_o state_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n we_o may_v certain_o conclude_v that_o god_n sufficien_o grant_v we_o wherewith_o too_o settle_v ourselves_o upon_o his_o word_n we_o must_v not_o be_v so_o inconstant_a as_o too_o let_v our_o faith_n be_v shake_v so_o often_o as_o we_o shall_v see_v the_o world_n toss_v with_o any_o trouble_n but_o rather_o he_o now_o show_v we_o where_o we_o ought_v to_o seek_v for_o this_o word_n whereof_o he_o have_v general_o speak_v heretofore_o for_o we_o may_v use_v this_o name_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o yet_o it_o may_v be_v hide_v in_o the_o air_n or_o among_o the_o cloud_n but_o because_o he_o have_v give_v unto_o we_o his_o word_n familyar_o and_o communicate_v the_o same_o with_o we_o daily_o even_o in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n let_v we_o consider_v that_o in_o give_v honour_n unto_o the_o word_n of_o god_n we_o say_v that_o it_o be_v infallible_a let_v we_o not_o imagine_v it_o to_o be_v have_v such_o experience_n deserve_v well_o to_o be_v hear_v and_o that_o they_o be_v no_o vain_a word_n which_o he_o here_o set_v down_o before_o hand_n but_o that_o god_n also_o will_v have_v it_o must_v have_v a_o sure_a testimony_n of_o his_o will_n we_o must_v be_v sure_a that_o he_o love_v we_o and_o that_o when_o he_o love_v we_o he_o will_v not_o fail_v we_o in_o our_o need_n and_o how_o shall_v we_o be_v assure_v of_o this_o it_o shall_v be_v by_o the_o only_a mean_a of_o his_o word_n now_o because_o man_n be_v so_o hard_a to_o be_v bring_v to_o rest_v themselves_o upon_o god_n and_o not_o trust_v only_o when_o we_o be_v quiet_a and_o at_o rest_n ne_o yet_o be_v throw_v down_o by_o any_o temptation_n but_o when_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v in_o our_o extreme_a trouble_n that_o we_o for_o all_o these_o continual_a change_n man_n must_v not_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n be_v carry_v away_o with_o every_o
blast_n of_o wound_n to_o be_v inconstant_a and_o unsteadfast_a but_o while_o they_o be_v sail_v through_o the_o wave_n of_o the_o sea_n they_o must_v hold_v themselves_o firm_a and_o sure_a in_o as_o we_o fail_v herein_o and_o that_o we_o have_v not_o as_o of_o ourselves_o the_o spirit_n to_o comprehend_v this_o righteousness_n whereof_o in_o this_o place_n mention_n be_v make_v ne_o yet_o to_o attain_v thereto_o yea_o and_o if_o that_o we_o shall_v attain_v thereto_o so_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o to_o lead_v we_o to_o iniquity_n yet_o let_v we_o pray_v with_o david_n that_o it_o every_o of_o we_o may_v do_v the_o like_a now_o in_o the_o first_o place_n he_o say_v i_o have_v cry_v out_o with_o my_o whole_a heart_n wherety_n he_o signify_v unto_o we_o that_o he_o babble_a not_o heart_n for_o david_n tell_v we_o nothere_o that_o he_o will_v solemnize_v the_o praise_n of_o god_n but_o in_o address_v himself_o unto_o god_n he_o protest_v before_o he_o that_o he_o will_v sing_v praise_n unto_o he_o and_o in_o speak_v this_o he_o right_o well_o know_v that_o his_o heart_n must_v needs_o be_v dispose_v thereto_o wherefore_o when_o as_o we_o will_v magnify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n as_o appertain_v let_v we_o not_o deliver_v it_o out_o with_o the_o mouth_n only_o but_o our_o heart_n also_o must_v be_v set_v thereto_o and_o that_o it_o agree_v therewith_o to_o make_v a_o song_n now_o since_o it_o be_v so_o that_o david_n speak_v after_o this_o sort_n let_v we_o now_o see_v what_o our_o duty_n be_v for_o as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v heretofore_o he_o brag_v not_o up_o in_o a_o cheste_n but_o communicate_v his_o grace_n unto_o other_o yea_o and_o do_v the_o best_a we_o can_v to_o draw_v on_o the_o miserable_a ignorant_a people_n too_o the_o service_n of_o god_n that_o it_o be_v talk_v of_o both_o at_o the_o table_n in_o the_o way_n and_o every_o where_o as_o that_o we_o can_v hardly_o abide_v that_o even_o for_o fashion_n sake_n the_o preach_n of_o it_o be_v keep_v and_o although_o it_o be_v here_o lawful_a too_o speak_v in_o the_o pulpit_n one_o hour_n in_o the_o name_n of_o god_n yet_o shall_v you_o have_v a_o great_a number_n of_o dog_n which_o will_v not_o stick_v even_o to_o gyrne_v at_o it_o as_o if_o god_n be_v too_o too_o much_o privilege_v it_o be_v very_o far_o of_o to_o have_v every_o man_n to_o apply_v himself_o to_o sing_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n and_o his_o whole_a word_n and_o for_o we_o to_o have_v our_o ear_n beat_v with_o it_o now_o whence_o come_v this_o unthankfulness_n very_o because_o we_o never_o taste_v of_o that_o which_o david_n here_o add_v all_o thy_o statute_n say_v he_o be_v righteous_a if_o we_o do_v thorough_o know_v what_o equity_n and_o pureness_n there_o be_v in_o the_o statute_n of_o god_n without_o doubt_n we_o shall_v be_v more_o earnest_n to_o learn_v hold_v and_o show_v they_o unto_o other_o than_o heretofore_o we_o have_v be_v so_o then_o all_z they_o which_o make_v no_o account_n too_o instruct_v their_o neighbour_n and_o do_v not_o esteem_v of_o the_o knowledge_n and_o faith_n which_o they_o have_v receive_v do_v hereby_o show_v that_o they_o will_v not_o render_v the_o be_v teach_v of_o god_n he_o say_v o_o deliver_v i_o yea_o he_o right_a well_o know_v that_o if_o he_o have_v not_o he_o for_o his_o protector_n that_o he_o shall_v always_o remain_v as_o it_o be_v in_o death_n now_o he_o add_v let_v thy_o hand_n help_v i_o and_o why_o so_o for_o i_o have_v choose_v say_v he_o thy_o commandment_n when_o he_o desire_v god_n too_o help_v he_o with_o his_o hand_n he_o confess_v his_o want_n and_o that_o he_o be_v as_o a_o man_n which_o need_v help_v even_o as_o though_o he_o have_v never_o have_v more_o need_n and_o that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o he_o to_o deliver_v himself_o neither_o can_v he_o find_v it_o in_o any_o of_o his_o creature_n and_o therefore_o except_o god_n have_v stretch_v forth_o his_o hand_n see_v how_o david_n have_v be_v utter_o cast_v away_o now_o this_o confession_n here_o be_v very_o profitable_a for_o us._n for_o which_o of_o we_o be_v he_o that_o can_v be_v without_o affliction_n and_o that_o be_v able_a to_o say_v i_o have_v all_o thing_n that_o be_v necessary_a it_o be_v most_o true_a that_o we_o be_v more_o careful_a for_o that_o which_o concern_v our_o body_n and_o this_o present_a life_n then_o for_o that_o which_o be_v require_v for_o the_o salvation_n of_o our_o soul_n
not_o too_o flatter_v ourselves_o when_o as_o the_o lord_n our_o god_n shall_v visit_v we_o with_o any_o little_a affliction_n that_o we_o think_v too_o have_v do_v even_o sufficient_o if_o we_o call_v upon_o he_o but_o if_o we_o shall_v have_v do_v so_o a_o hundred_o thousand_o time_n more_o yet_o that_o we_o must_v not_o give_v over_o pray_v and_o call_v upon_o he_o and_o herein_o may_v be_v see_v the_o hypocritical_a deal_n of_o man_n for_o they_o be_v so_o womannishe_o mind_v and_o tender_a heart_a that_o they_o think_v themselves_o too_o have_v wrought_v a_o million_o of_o trust_v that_o god_n will_v deliver_v he_o out_o of_o it_o and_o there_o upon_o call_v on_o he_o and_o receive_v great_a courage_n namely_o he_o desire_v too_o be_v quicken_v according_a to_o the_o love_a kindness_n of_o god_n for_o we_o must_v also_o be_v at_o that_o point_n if_o we_o will_v be_v hear_v to_o know_v that_o god_n be_v bind_v untoo_o we_o of_o his_o mere_a grace_n and_o favour_n and_o that_o we_o also_o must_v have_v recourse_n unto_o he_o if_o we_o will_v have_v he_o too_o accomplish_v his_o promise_n unto_o us._n man_n must_v not_o then_o abuse_v themselves_o too_o look_v
