above_o their_o contrary_n whereby_o we_o embrace_v they_o with_o our_o affection_n and_o this_o i_o hope_v i_o may_v without_o offence_n allow_v the_o name_n of_o his_o common_a renew_v grace_n to_o in_o which_o sense_n or_o notion_n if_o any_o shall_v allege_v his_o capacity_n of_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o present_a work_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o he_o i_o mean_v not_o heathen_n as_o well_o as_o christian_n have_v doubtless_o in_o great_a measure_n participate_v of_o this_o grace_n for_o so_o i_o call_v it_o now_o it_o be_v from_o the_o mere_a good_a will_n and_o pleasure_n of_o god_n without_o any_o motive_n or_o inducement_n from_o man_n and_o own_v the_o same_o to_o be_v his_o good_a work_n in_o they_o and_o yet_o never_o otherwise_o enlighten_v miss_v of_o enlighten_v grace_n and_o fear_v he_o have_v it_o not_o which_o he_o who_o seem_v assure_v of_o it_o neglect_v by_o consequence_n to_o do_v saint_n paul_n concern_v spiritual_a gift_n will_v not_o to_o have_v we_o altogether_o ignorant_a and_o about_o to_o show_v we_o that_o there_o be_v diversity_n of_o operation_n but_o it_o be_v the_o same_o god_n which_o work_v all_o in_o all_o give_v we_o to_o understand_v that_o 10.3_o no_o man_n can_v say_v jesus_n be_v the_o lord_n but_o by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n which_o thing_n i_o do_v believe_v but_o yet_o i_o take_v his_o meaning_n there_o to_o be_v not_o a_o bare_a outward_a profession_n and_o confession_n by_o the_o tongue_n for_o sure_o there_o be_v many_o who_o have_v profess_v so_o much_o and_o utter_v as_o much_o with_o a_o clear_a audible_a voice_n at_o that_o very_a instant_n they_o have_v intend_v to_o deceive_v and_o with_o a_o very_a intent_n to_o deceive_v which_o can_v never_o be_v the_o work_n of_o that_o good_a spirit_n of_o truth_n in_o they_o and_o therefore_o we_o can_v take_v his_o meaning_n there_o to_o be_v other_o than_o a_o intus_fw-la dicens_fw-la a_o cordial_a and_o total_a from_o the_o whole_a soul_n embrace_v and_o lay_v hold_n on_o that_o word_n by_o faith_n as_o the_o alone_a saviour_n and_o so_o lord_n of_o the_o whole_a world_n and_o this_o thing_n we_o can_v as_o of_o itself_o behold_v in_o any_o man_n he_o have_v give_v we_o to_o understand_v likewise_o in_o another_o place_n that_o there_o be_v 23._o fruit_n proceed_v from_o the_o work_n of_o that_o spirit_n and_o enumerate_v some_o of_o they_o yet_o since_o no_o man_n now_o a_o day_n can_v or_o will_v i_o think_v pretend_v to_o any_o inmediate_a gift_n of_o 12.10_o discern_v the_o spirit_n more_o than_o he_o can_v or_o will_v mention_v by_o saint_n paul_n as_o temperance_n patience_n goodness_n etc._n etc._n have_v appear_v much_o more_o real_a in_o many_o heathen_a than_o some_o of_o we_o and_o yet_o our_o reason_n be_v not_o convince_v that_o they_o proceed_v from_o any_o thing_n more_o than_o that_o bountiful_a goodness_n of_o god_n in_o his_o providence_n over_o they_o nor_o until_o we_o have_v that_o special_a gift_n of_o discern_v the_o spirit_n
can_v we_o acknowledge_v a_o belief_n of_o a_o better_a fountain_n if_o so_o good_a in_o some_o of_o our_o present_a spiritualist_n without_o a_o breach_n upon_o our_o reason_n whateever_n our_o charity_n may_v incline_v we_o to_o i_o be_o so_o far_o from_o deny_v the_o often_o immediate_a bless_a effect_n of_o that_o spirit_n of_o truth_n in_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o true_a believer_n that_o i_o will_v not_o be_v think_v to_o make_v use_n of_o my_o reason_n in_o the_o least_o so_o as_o to_o interpose_v it_o as_o a_o cloud_n or_o mist_n between_o that_o and_o any_o man_n soul_n to_o obscure_v it_o if_o i_o can_v from_o the_o light_n thereof_o i_o will_v soon_o wish_v or_o be_v content_a not_o bare_o to_o lose_v my_o reason_n but_o he_o change_v into_o a_o brute_n as_o to_o visible_a shape_n than_o do_v it_o yet_o since_o i_o challenge_v and_o own_o my_o very_a reason_n from_o one_o and_o the_o same_o godhead_n however_o miraculous_o and_o diverse_o work_v as_o several_a person_n i_o hope_v i_o may_v even_o from_o that_o without_o offence_n or_o grieve_v that_o holy_a spirit_n tell_v man_n they_o may_v possible_o err_v in_o the_o opinion_n of_o its_o effect_n and_o proper_o call_v such_o a_o love_n rational_a love_n now_o for_o that_o sensual_a love_n in_o man_n have_v reason_n in_o company_n with_o it_o and_o ofttimes_o assist_v it_o and_o contrive_v for_o it_o engender_v such_o a_o mutual_a love_n between_o man_n as_o very_o much_o resemble_v friendly_a love_n nay_o for_o that_o sensual_a love_n and_o friendly_a love_n be_v often_o complicate_v and_o twist_v together_o in_o man_n incorporate_v let_v we_o say_v if_o you_o think_v good_a it_o will_v be_v necessary_a we_o find_v out_o the_o true_a original_n of_o each_o and_o the_o real_a difference_n between_o they_o that_o so_o we_o may_v right_o discern_v and_o distinguish_v bettween_n they_o first_o we_o say_v friendly_a love_n properly_z and_o strict_o be_v a_o motion_n of_o affection_n any_o thing_n true_o lovely_a in_o man_n it_o inform_v man_n withal_o he_o ought_v to_o love_v and_o that_o with_o some_o trust_n and_o confidence_n in_o the_o party_n love_v i_o do_v not_o think_v but_o that_o reason_n in_o man_n may_v be_v so_o far_o debase_v as_o of_o itself_o to_o behold_v and_o judge_v that_o thing_n as_o good_a which_o in_o truth_n be_v not_o so_o through_o some_o mist_n which_o self-love_n full_o feed_v and_o pamper_a from_o sense_n before_o have_v raise_v in_o the_o soul_n and_o in_o that_o case_n love_n though_o reason_n seem_v to_o be_v the_o conduct_n of_o it_o may_v change_v upon_o every_o change_n of_o sense_n but_o whenever_o reason_n free_a and_o at_o liberty_n and_o withal_o clear_a do_v once_o direct_a or_o guide_v love_n to_o such_o a_o object_n love_n in_o that_o case_n will_v not_o easy_o be_v move_v but_o must_v be_v hale_v away_o by_o the_o same_o strength_n which_o direct_v and_o guide_v it_o thither_o neither_o shall_v sense_n soon_o loosen_v it_o fidelity_n in_o man_n or_o some_o ground_n whereon_o another_o may_v place_v a_o trust_n must_v be_v the_o foundation_n on_o which_o the_o first_o love_a stone_n oracle_n for_o i_o will_v deliver_v it_o as_o such_o in_o this_o case_n though_o he_o 6.35_o augment_v the_o gift_n as_o solomon_n say_v in_o another_o case_n that_o man_n shall_v never_o love_v he_o at_o the_o bottom_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o yet_o there_o may_v be_v and_o continue_v a_o mutual_a love_n between_o these_o two_o ground_v upon_o sense_n but_o no_o interchangeable_a view_n for_o a_o etc._n etc._n or_o at_o least_o in_o expectation_n of_o some_o future_a reward_n and_o not_o from_o behold_v any_o thing_n of_o good_a in_o he_o in_o the_o second_o case_n he_o may_v with_o the_o like_a reason_n conjecture_v my_o liberality_n flow_v with_o expectation_n of_o a_o return_n and_o with_o some_o reference_n to_o my_o own_o worldy_a advantage_n that_o i_o intend_v to_o make_v use_n of_o he_o or_o the_o like_a but_o if_o at_o any_o time_n there_o appear_v to_o this_o man_n a_o sight_n of_o truth_n in_o i_o that_o upon_o the_o great_a advantage_n or_o great_a offer_n and_o place_v no_o trust_n or_o repose_v in_o he_o now_o if_o outward_a profession_n be_v to_o be_v the_o standard_n of_o this_o love_n and_o my_o own_o religion_n the_o guide_n i_o shall_v soon_o make_v
