truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n when_o they_o be_v first_o preach_v but_o now_o say_v paul_n where_o be_v the_o blessedness_n you_o speak_v of_o your_o heart_n be_v not_o now_o so_o take_v with_o the_o gospel_n as_o they_o be_v at_o first_o now_o you_o seem_v to_o be_v take_v off_o from_o it_o where_o be_v the_o blessedness_n you_o speak_v of_o i_o make_v no_o question_n but_o many_o minister_n in_o many_o congregation_n have_v cause_n to_o make_v use_n of_o these_o word_n of_o the_o apostle_n when_o god_n send_v they_o at_o first_o the_o heart_n of_o people_n be_v take_v with_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o within_o a_o while_n they_o be_v off_o again_o and_o well_o may_v their_o minister_n say_v where_o be_v the_o blessedness_n you_o speak_v of_o the_o peace_n of_o the_o gospel_n it_o do_v not_o abide_v upon_o they_o but_o one_o thing_n or_o other_o take_v it_o off_o from_o they_o so_o in_o heb._n 6._o there_o you_o read_v of_o some_o that_o yet_o be_v not_o save_v by_o the_o gospel_n or_o be_v not_o in_o a_o condition_n at_o least_o for_o the_o present_a to_o be_v save_v yet_o they_o have_v a_o taste_n of_o the_o heavenly_a gift_n they_o do_v not_o only_o hear_v the_o word_n and_o understand_v it_o but_o they_o have_v a_o taste_n of_o the_o good_a word_n of_o god_n o_o they_o say_v it_o be_v the_o good_a word_n of_o god_n and_o mark_n of_o the_o power_n of_o the_o world_n to_o come_v that_o be_v of_o those_o powerful_a truth_n of_o those_o truth_n that_o do_v concern_v the_o world_n to_o come_v that_o be_v powerful_a truth_n for_o so_o certain_o my_o brethren_n the_o truth_n that_o do_v concern_v the_o world_n to_o come_v as_o powerful_a truth_n they_o have_v a_o mighty_a deal_n of_o power_n to_o work_v upon_o the_o heart_n and_o these_o have_v not_o only_o the_o apprehension_n but_o a_o taste_n of_o the_o power_n of_o the_o world_n to_o come_v and_o yet_o it_o appear_v that_o they_o have_v not_o those_o thing_n that_o do_v accompany_v salvation_n many_o other_o scripture_n may_v be_v show_v that_o there_o be_v many_o that_o be_v affect_v with_o the_o gospel_n yea_o they_o be_v convince_v and_o they_o have_v some_o taste_n of_o it_o and_o their_o spirit_n take_v yea_o almost_o persuade_v with_o he_o that_o we_o read_v of_o almost_o persuade_v to_o become_v a_o christian_a and_o yet_o for_o all_o this_o this_o mercy_n that_o be_v here_o promise_v to_o the_o son_n of_o peace_n be_v not_o their_o portion_n the_o peace_n of_o the_o gospel_n do_v not_o rest_n upon_o their_o spirit_n it_o be_v a_o blessing_n beyond_o that_o which_o any_o hypocrite_n in_o the_o world_n have_v to_o have_v this_o peace_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o rest_v and_o abide_v upon_o his_o spirit_n that_o be_v first_o to_o be_v set_v up_o as_o a_o constant_a light_n before_o the_o soul_n not_o to_o come_v as_o a_o mere_a flash_n of_o lightning_n sudden_o come_v and_o sudden_o go_v but_o than_o it_o may_v be_v say_v to_o rest_v when_o the_o lord_n set_v up_o those_o glorious_a truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n as_o a_o constant_a light_n before_o the_o soul_n and_o second_o when_o as_o the_o lord_n work_v those_o truth_n by_o meditation_n upon_o the_o heart_n the_o lord_n cause_v those_o truth_n to_o follow_v the_o thought_n of_o the_o mind_n and_o so_o to_o work_v they_o upon_o the_o heart_n yea_o into_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o thought_n of_o the_o mind_n when_o the_o lord_n give_v a_o constant_a real_a taste_n of_o those_o truth_n and_o savour_n of_o they_o that_o though_o they_o be_v not_o always_o hear_v of_o they_o yet_o the_o savour_n and_o relish_n do_v abide_v in_o a_o constant_a way_n upon_o their_o heart_n when_o the_o lord_n cause_v those_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o spread_v all_o over_o the_o faculty_n of_o their_o soul_n that_o it_o be_v as_o the_o holy_a ghost_n compare_v it_o in_o scripture_n to_o leven_n the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v like_a unto_o leven_n which_o in_o a_o little_a time_n do_v leven_n the_o whole_a lump_n so_o when_o the_o lord_n cause_v the_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n not_o only_o to_o be_v in_o the_o mind_n in_o the_o understanding_n in_o the_o conscience_n but_o to_o get_v into_o the_o heart_n to_o get_v into_o the_o affection_n and_o as_o it_o be_v to_o leven_n in_o a_o good_a sense_n the_o whole_a soul_n by_o the_o sweetness_n and_o the_o goodness_n and_o the_o excellency_n of_o those_o truth_n yea_o when_o the_o lord_n shall_v cause_v those_o truth_n to_o be_v dear_o root_v in_o the_o heart_n to_o take_v such_o root_n as_o temptation_n and_o deducement_n any_o provocation_n without_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o take_v out_o those_o truth_n which_o be_v upon_o the_o heart_n when_o the_o lord_n shall_v cause_v they_o to_o stick_v so_o fast_o to_o sink_v so_o deep_a into_o the_o heart_n let_v there_o come_v what_o will_n to_o take_v off_o the_o heart_n from_o they_o or_o take_v they_o out_o of_o the_o heart_n yet_o they_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o take_v they_o out_o of_o the_o heart_n as_o a_o martyr_n say_v say_v he_o you_o may_v take_v my_o heart_n out_o of_o my_o body_n but_o you_o shall_v never_o take_v the_o belief_n of_o these_o thing_n out_o of_o my_o heart_n o_o the_o blessing_n and_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n do_v so_o rest_n upon_o his_o soul_n and_o they_o have_v get_v so_o near_o into_o his_o heart_n that_o nothing_o in_o the_o world_n can_v take_v it_o off_o many_o people_n that_o be_v a_o little_a stir_v upon_o the_o hear_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o they_o think_v it_o be_v good_a and_o the_o truth_n be_v bless_v truth_n and_o they_o have_v good_a resolution_n but_o perhaps_o when_o they_o come_v home_o from_o hear_v of_o the_o word_n they_o shall_v have_v a_o fellow-servant_n jeer_a of_o they_o or_o the_o father_n or_o mother_n speak_v against_o they_o or_o the_o husband_n the_o wife_n or_o the_o wife_n the_o husband_n and_o so_o perhaps_o they_o come_v to_o lose_v all_o those_o truth_n which_o former_o they_o be_v so_o take_v with_o but_o those_o that_o be_v the_o son_n of_o peace_n they_o have_v the_o peace_n of_o the_o gospel_n rest_v upon_o they_o as_o have_v be_v open_v to_o you_o and_o this_o be_v a_o very_a great_a blessing_n of_o god_n o_o this_o be_v a_o mercy_n indeed_o for_o the_o lord_n to_o grant_v the_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o the_o good_a of_o it_o thus_o to_o rest_v upon_o the_o heart_n that_o the_o heart_n do_v keep_v it_o as_o a_o treasure_n within_o it_o it_o be_v a_o great_a mercy_n first_o because_o it_o be_v a_o special_a fruit_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n according_a to_o that_o text_n in_o jer._n 31._o where_o god_n promise_v as_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o covenant_n that_o he_o will_v their_o heart_n that_o be_v when_o ever_o they_o shall_v come_v to_o hear_v the_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n open_v to_o they_o they_o shall_v find_v as_o it_o be_v a_o counterpain_n of_o the_o bless_a truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n in_o their_o heart_n yea_o further_o to_o have_v the_o word_n of_o
be_v the_o food_n of_o thy_o soul_n though_o thou_o can_v not_o remember_v and_o give_v a_o account_n of_o such_o and_o such_o thing_n thou_o do_v hear_v in_o the_o word_n but_o yet_o do_v thou_o find_v that_o thou_o be_v nourish_v by_o it_o i_o say_v the_o good_a thing_n of_o the_o gospel_n then_o do_v rest_n upon_o thy_o soul_n then_o if_o this_o be_v so_o great_a a_o blessing_n o_o that_o i_o can_v but_o convince_v you_o this_o day_n to_o go_v away_o with_o your_o heart_n take_v with_o this_o blessing_n o_o that_o all_o of_o you_o be_v convince_v this_o day_n we_o hear_v that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o we_o to_o have_v sudden_a apprehension_n when_o we_o hear_v the_o bless_a thing_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o that_o that_o be_v indeed_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n upon_o a_o son_n of_o peace_n it_o be_v to_o have_v the_o good_a thing_n of_o the_o gospel_n abide_v and_o rest_v upon_o they_o o_o then_o that_o it_o may_v be_v so_o with_o we_o o_o that_o the_o lord_n will_v the_o heart_n of_o people_n do_v attend_v upon_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n thus_o that_o be_v we_o be_v here_o o_o lord_n in_o thy_o presence_n now_o to_o hear_v what_o thou_o have_v to_o reveal_v unto_o we_o and_o we_o believe_v that_o in_o this_o thy_o ordinance_n when_o thou_o be_v make_v know_v any_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o we_o thou_o be_v come_v nigh_o to_o our_o soul_n in_o a_o matter_n that_o concern_v our_o eternal_a good_a if_o you_o do_v attend_v thus_o certain_o every_o truth_n will_v get_v into_o your_o heart_n three_o when_o you_o find_v the_o truth_n preparation_n but_o the_o lord_n must_v still_o work_v further_o and_o further_o so_o when_o thou_o feel_v thy_o heart_n a_o little_a stir_v do_v not_o think_v that_o the_o work_n be_v present_o do_v but_o pray_v to_o god_n to_o prepare_v thy_o heart_n and_o that_o he_o will_v go_v on_o with_o that_o bless_a work_n of_o his._n and_o then_o another_o rule_n be_v this_o labour_v after_o thou_o be_v go_v to_o work_v the_o truth_n upon_o thy_o heart_n by_o meditation_n that_o so_o they_o may_v abide_v will_v you_o have_v a_o salve_n that_o shall_v do_v good_a to_o a_o affect_a member_n it_o be_v not_o only_o the_o lay_n of_o the_o salve_n upon_o the_o body_n but_o to_o rub_v it_o that_o it_o may_v get_v in_o and_o supple_a the_o part_n so_o when_o the_o lord_n come_v to_o present_v the_o bless_a truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o you_o you_o must_v labour_v to_o rub_v they_o upon_o your_o heart_n by_o meditation_n another_o rule_n be_v turn_v all_o that_o you_o hear_v into_o prayer_n that_o be_v when_o you_o have_v hear_v any_o truth_n that_o have_v take_v and_o affect_v your_o soul_n get_v alone_o into_o your_o closet_n and_o before_o you_o go_v about_o any_o other_o business_n fall_v down_o before_o the_o lord_n and_o turn_v that_o which_o you_o have_v hear_v into_o prayer_n it_o be_v a_o good_a rule_n for_o your_o direction_n and_o you_o will_v find_v a_o admirable_a benefit_n by_o this_o you_o will_v find_v this_o to_o help_v your_o memory_n much_o do_v but_o henceforward_o observe_v this_o rule_n that_o now_o be_v tender_v unto_o you_o as_o from_o the_o lord_n work_v the_o matter_n that_o you_o hear_v upon_o your_o heart_n by_o prayer_n and_o further_o take_v heed_n of_o temptation_n keep_v a_o narrow_a watch_n over_o your_o heart_n take_v heed_n that_o some_o temptation_n do_v not_o come_v secret_o to_o steal_v away_o that_o bless_a truth_n that_o you_o have_v hear_v for_o the_o devil_n will_v labour_v as_o i_o tell_v you_o the_o place_n be_v full_a of_o angel_n and_o so_o it_o be_v full_a of_o devil_n too_o the_o devil_n be_v watch_v who_o it_o be_v that_o be_v stir_v with_o the_o hear_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o he_o present_o be_v labour_v to_o draw_v out_o all_o the_o power_n and_o efficacy_n therefore_o watch_v against_o temptation_n another_o rule_n will_v be_v this_o often_o call_v your_o heart_n unto_o a_o account_n oftentimes_o be_v commune_v with_o your_o own_o heart_n in_o this_o manner_n o_o my_o soul_n be_v there_o not_o such_o a_o time_n that_o thou_o be_v stir_v and_o affect_v when_o thou_o do_v hear_v such_o and_o such_o thing_n why_o what_o be_v become_v of_o all_o thy_o stir_n and_o of_o all_o those_o resolution_n and_o truth_n that_o thou_o have_v hear_v o_o my_o soul_n where_o be_v they_o what_o have_v thou_o do_v with_o they_o o_o it_o will_v be_v of_o admirable_a use_n if_o you_o will_v take_v a_o account_n of_o your_o heart_n but_o when_o man_n and_o woman_n be_v stir_v sometime_o and_o go_v away_o and_o never_o call_v their_o heart_n to_o a_o account_n what_o be_v become_v of_o they_o no_o marvel_n though_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o gospel_n do_v not_o abide_v but_o vanish_v all_o and_o be_v as_o water_v spill_v upon_o the_o ground_n and_o further_o take_v heed_n of_o secret_a sin_n thou_o have_v no_o power_n to_o purge_v thy_o heart_n but_o thou_o may_v in_o great_a measure_n abandon_v the_o act_n of_o sin_n that_o man_n or_o woman_n that_o live_v in_o a_o secret_a sin_n i_o say_v that_o secret_a sin_n will_v either_o eat_v out_o the_o truth_n that_o he_o have_v hear_v or_o the_o truth_n will_v eat_v out_o that_o sin_n thou_o come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n and_o have_v many_o bless_a thing_n reveal_v to_o thou_o i_o say_v they_o will_v either_o eat_v out_o thy_o secret_a sin_n or_o thy_o secret_a sin_n will_v eat_v out_o they_o and_o which_o of_o the_o two_o do_v thou_o think_v thou_o have_v best_o be_v rid_v of_o and_o if_o thou_o will_v have_v they_o abide_v turn_v all_o into_o practice_n that_o be_v fall_v a_o
o_o the_o lord_n the_o lord_n forbid_v but_o let_v i_o the_o rather_o embrace_v it_o by_o how_o much_o the_o more_o it_o be_v neglect_v and_o disregard_v by_o other_o what_o shall_v such_o a_o glorious_a gospel_n be_v preach_v in_o vain_a what_o shall_v the_o precious_a blood_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v shed_v in_o vain_a and_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a in_o respect_n of_o many_o soul_n and_o shall_v it_o be_v in_o respect_n of_o my_o soul_n the_o lord_n forbid_v o_o that_o the_o lord_n will_v put_v such_o kind_n of_o thought_n into_o your_o heart_n when_o you_o see_v other_o live_v under_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n in_o a_o sinful_a way_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o this_o supposition_n if_o not_o what_o follow_v if_o not_o let_v it_o return_v to_o you_o again_o here_o we_o have_v first_o a_o encouragement_n to_o god_n minister_n in_o case_n their_o ministry_n be_v reject_v and_o second_o a_o dreadful_a denunciation_n against_o those_o that_o shall_v reject_v the_o gospel_n first_o the_o encouragement_n of_o the_o minister_n of_o god_n in_o case_n their_o ministry_n be_v reject_v let_v it_o return_v to_o you_o again_o in_o this_o we_o have_v these_o two_o thing_n first_o that_o when_o any_o minister_n preach_v christ_n to_o a_o people_n if_o the_o people_n get_v no_o good_a by_o his_o preach_v yet_o he_o shall_v have_v the_o benefit_n of_o it_o upon_o his_o own_o soul_n that_o be_v the_o first_o let_v it_o return_v to_o you_o again_o if_o they_o will_v not_o embrace_v it_o so_o as_o to_o have_v the_o good_a and_o benefit_n of_o it_o to_o they_o it_o shall_v return_v to_o you_o and_o you_o shall_v have_v the_o benefit_n and_o blessing_n of_o it_o upon_o your_o own_o soul_n second_o let_v it_o return_v that_o be_v though_o it_o prevail_v not_o here_o yet_o it_o shall_v not_o lose_v any_o thing_n of_o its_o efficacy_n of_o the_o life_n of_o the_o vigour_n of_o it_o but_o it_o shall_v return_v to_o you_o with_o as_o much_o efficacy_n and_o they_o shall_v not_o lose_v by_o it_o they_o shall_v have_v the_o blessing_n of_o their_o ministry_n in_o isai_n 49._o 4._o then_o i_o say_v i_o have_v labour_v in_o vain_a i_o have_v spend_v my_o strength_n for_o nought_o and_o in_o vain_a here_o be_v a_o dreadful_a complaint_n but_o mark_v what_o follow_v yet_o sure_o my_o judgement_n be_v with_o the_o lord_n and_o my_o work_n with_o my_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n but_o especial_o he_o be_v to_o look_v after_o his_o faithfulness_n in_o his_o labour_n and_o if_o he_o be_v faithful_a there_o he_o shall_v not_o lose_v his_o labour_n but_o say_v bernard_n you_o must_v have_v a_o care_n rather_o to_o discharge_v your_o work_n to_o take_v care_n of_o soul_n rather_o than_o the_o cure_n of_o they_o it_o be_v your_o work_n to_o take_v care_n of_o they_o but_o it_o be_v god_n work_n to_o cure_v they_o that_o be_v to_o be_v leave_v to_o god_n there_o be_v a_o question_n among_o divine_n whether_o a_o minister_n that_o convert_v many_o soul_n here_o by_o his_o ministry_n or_o another_o that_o be_v as_o faithful_a every_o whit_n as_o he_o and_o as_o painful_a and_o yet_o do_v not_o convert_v soul_n or_o but_o very_o few_o which_o of_o these_o shall_v have_v most_o glory_n in_o heaven_n whether_o the_o one_o or_o the_o other_o many_o think_v rather_o the_o second_o because_o the_o one_o have_v a_o great_a part_n of_o his_o comfort_n here_o and_o his_o encouragement_n the_o other_o go_v on_o in_o his_o painfulness_n and_o faithfulness_n though_o he_o have_v not_o such_o comfort_n and_o encouragement_n and_o indeed_o of_o all_o work_n it_o be_v the_o hard_a work_n for_o a_o man_n to_o go_v on_o comfortable_o in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n without_o success_n there_o be_v no_o work_n so_o hard_o as_o that_o be_v what_o for_o a_o man_n to_o think_v o_o that_o the_o lord_n shall_v send_v i_o to_o a_o people_n to_o what_o end_n to_o preach_v the_o gospel_n indeed_o but_o to_o harden_v they_o but_o to_o aggravate_v their_o sin_n but_o so_o as_o their_o condemnation_n shall_v be_v increase_v o_o it_o be_v a_o dreadful_a thought_n unto_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o minister_n to_o think_v that_o he_o shall_v be_v send_v about_o such_o a_o task_n as_o this_o be_v jeremy_n be_v even_o weary_a and_o say_v he_o will_v preach_v no_o more_o in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n only_o the_o word_n of_o mercy_n altogether_o do_v but_o consider_v of_o this_o and_o consider_v to_o tremble_v before_o he_o that_o god_n shall_v take_v advantage_n against_o million_o of_o angel_n for_o so_o they_o be_v for_o we_o read_v in_o scripture_n that_o legion_n of_o devil_n be_v in_o one_o man_n and_o they_o be_v once_o angel_n and_o they_o do_v but_o commit_v one_o sin_n against_o god_n and_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o plea_n with_o they_o about_o term_n of_o peace_n but_o mark_v now_o the_o same_o god_n that_o be_v so_o severe_a against_o angel_n that_o be_v his_o own_o creature_n as_o well_o as_o thou_o and_o be_v more_o glorious_a creature_n and_o commit_v but_o one_o sin_n yet_o will_v never_o enter_v into_o any_o term_n of_o peace_n with_o they_o this_o god_n be_v not_o only_o willing_a to_o treat_v with_o thy_o soul_n to_o be_v at_o peace_n with_o thou_o but_o he_o send_v forth_o his_o messenger_n unto_o thou_o to_o treat_v in_o his_o name_n and_o do_v give_v they_o command_v that_o when_o they_o come_v to_o thou_o they_o shall_v offer_v term_n of_o peace_n to_o thy_o soul_n admire_v at_o this_o thou_o that_o have_v not_o be_v guilty_a of_o one_o sin_n but_o of_o see_v that_o it_o be_v a_o good_a advantage_n to_o work_v upon_o man_n self-love_n to_o offer_v term_n of_o peace_n and_o the_o truth_n be_v that_o be_v it_o that_o gain_v the_o heart_n of_o a_o sinner_n and_o god_n will_v outbid_v the_o world_n and_o devil_n and_o flesh_n what_o do_v they_o offer_v any_o thing_n that_o may_v delight_v you_o say_v god_n i_o will_v outbid_v they_o all_o christ_n out-bids_a the_o world_n and_o devil_n in_o offer_v unto_o sinner_n a_o great_a good_a than_o world_n or_o devil_n can_v possible_o bring_v unto_o they_o and_o indeed_o this_o offer_n of_o peace_n do_v outbid_v the_o world_n that_o be_v do_v proffer_v a_o great_a good_a to_o a_o sinner_n than_o world_n or_o devil_n can_v possible_o proffer_v to_o they_o nay_o then_o say_v the_o soul_n if_o i_o see_v that_o i_o may_v have_v a_o great_a good_a by_o repent_v and_o believe_v than_o by_o go_v on_o in_o my_o sin_n i_o will_v go_v that_o way_n i_o will_v rather_o attend_v upon_o the_o word_n for_o i_o hear_v of_o great_a thing_n that_o be_v there_o about_o reconciliation_n between_o god_n and_o man_n now_o this_o be_v the_o way_n to_o take_v the_o heart_n of_o man_n and_o it_o be_v shall_v be_v forgive_v to_o make_v this_o supposition_n and_o yet_o that_o this_o shall_v be_v a_o truth_n that_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o any_o godly_a people_n to_o be_v afflict_a for_o their_o these_o two_o can_v stand_v together_o you_o will_v say_v if_o they_o have_v commit_v sin_n it_o shall_v be_v forgive_v be_v it_o not_o forgive_v before_o true_o they_o be_v forgive_v in_o respect_n of_o god_n eternal_a wrath_n or_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o gild_n that_o bind_v they_o over_o to_o the_o satisfy_n of_o revenge_a justice_n they_o be_v forgive_v that_o but_o they_o be_v not_o so_o forgive_v but_o that_o they_o need_v a_o fatherly_a forgiveness_n still_o christ_n have_v take_v away_o already_o at_o first_o the_o revenge_n of_o a_o judge_n but_o he_o have_v not_o take_v away_o father_n indeed_o through_o christ_n satisfy_n god_n will_v never_o deal_v with_o his_o people_n as_o a_o judge_n to_o revenge_n but_o this_o do_v not_o put_v they_o out_o of_o his_o way_n of_o deal_n with_o they_o as_o a_o father_n and_o they_o have_v need_n of_o fatherly_a forgiveness_n still_o and_o this_o be_v that_o that_o christ_n teach_v every_o one_o to_o pray_v forgive_v we_o our_o sin_n forgive_v we_o our_o trespass_n some_o other_o plea_n and_o objection_n may_v be_v make_v but_o i_o shall_v rather_o hasten_v to_o the_o use_v of_o the_o point_n be_v the_o sight_n of_o god_n that_o that_o shall_v cause_v we_o humble_o to_o submit_v o_o let_v what_o have_v be_v say_v in_o these_o several_a consideration_n serve_v to_o rebuke_v our_o impatiency_n our_o fret_v and_o sink_v these_o thing_n but_o to_o have_v the_o effectual_a work_n of_o these_o thing_n upon_o the_o heart_n that_o be_v not_o so_o easy_a to_o sanctify_v god_n name_n in_o the_o fire_n carnal_a heart_n they_o have_v many_o poor_a thing_n to_o help_v themselves_o in_o their_o affliction_n they_o say_v this_o it_o be_v my_o ill_a fortune_n this_o befall_v i_o and_o another_o say_v this_o this_o befall_v all_o man_n one_o or_o other_o it_o be_v common_a other_o say_v thus_o we_o must_v we_o can_v help_v it_o and_o we_o must_v submit_v to_o it_o another_o think_v thus_o why_o i_o hope_v it_o will_v be_v over_o these_o be_v poor_a reason_n to_o work_v upon_o the_o heart_n in_o the_o day_n of_o affliction_n but_o now_o a_o gracious_a heart_n shall_v get_v up_o high_o above_o all_o these_o it_o be_v the_o lord_n and_o there_o look_v into_o the_o counsel_n of_o god_n and_o seek_v to_o know_v the_o mind_n of_o god_n and_o to_o sanctify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n o_o grace_n my_o brethren_n have_v many_o excellency_n in_o it_o but_o among_o other_o thing_n this_o be_v not_o the_o least_o that_o it_o have_v such_o a_o mighty_a power_n to_o help_v man_n in_o the_o day_n of_o their_o affliction_n a_o mighty_a power_n to_o sweeten_v the_o heart_n and_o to_o take_v away_o the_o sting_n and_o evil_n of_o all_o affliction_n and_o to_o carry_v the_o soul_n on_o comfortable_o in_o the_o time_n of_o all_o danger_n and_o trial_n o_o labour_n to_o have_v this_o wrought_v upon_o your_o heart_n for_o by_o this_o you_o will_v manifest_v much_o beauty_n in_o grace_n much_o excellency_n in_o grace_n it_o will_v be_v a_o mean_n to_o convince_v all_o that_o be_v about_o you_o all_o those_o that_o profess_v godliness_n shall_v labour_v to_o behave_v themselves_o so_o as_o to_o do_v that_o that_o other_o can_v do_v in_o the_o time_n of_o affliction_n they_o shall_v then_o show_v what_o grace_n can_v do_v as_o david_n in_o another_o case_n say_v to_o the_o king_n of_o achish_n thou_o shall_v see_v what_o thy_o servant_n can_v do_v so_o now_o in_o the_o time_n of_o affliction_n a_o gracious_a heart_n shall_v put_v it_o to_o this_o come_v let_v we_o see_v what_o grace_n can_v do_v and_o certain_o this_o will_v be_v the_o way_n for_o remove_v of_o affliction_n soon_o when_o the_o heart_n be_v bring_v thus_o to_o yield_v unto_o the_o lord_n wherefore_o that_o you_o may_v bring_v your_o heart_n to_o this_o in_o the_o day_n of_o your_o affliction_n labour_n in_o the_o constant_a course_n of_o your_o life_n to_o converse_v much_o with_o god_n those_o that_o walk_v with_o god_n according_a to_o the_o text_n that_o you_o know_v i_o be_o upon_o and_o converse_v much_o with_o god_n in_o the_o day_n of_o their_o health_n why_o their_o heart_n will_v in_o a_o kind_n of_o natural-way_n work_v up_o to_o god_n in_o the_o time_n of_o affliction_n then_o the_o thought_n of_o god_n will_v be_v as_o suitable_a to_o thou_o as_o fire_n be_v to_o fire_n fire_n ascend_v up_o to_o fire_n because_o of_o the_o suitableness_n of_o the_o fire_n that_o be_v here_o to_o that_o that_o be_v above_o why_o so_o the_o heart_n will_v work_v up_o to_o god_n in_o a_o kind_n of_o natural-way_n because_o god_n be_v so_o suitable_a to_o the_o heart_n the_o heart_n have_v so_o much_o converse_v with_o god_n in_o the_o day_n of_o prosperity_n and_o labour_v thorough_o to_o convince_v your_o heart_n of_o this_o thing_n that_o there_o be_v no_o good_a in_o any_o creature_n but_o only_o in_o the_o reference_n that_o it_o have_v to_o god_n there_o be_v no_o good_a in_o health_n in_o liberty_n in_o your_o name_n in_o your_o life_n in_o your_o estate_n any_o further_a than_o they_o have_v some_o reference_n to_o god_n the_o infinite_a first_o good_a the_o chief_a and_o high_a good_n it_o be_v a_o easy_a matter_n in_o a_o way_n of_o reason_n to_o convince_v any_o one_o that_o this_o be_v a_o truth_n but_o now_o to_o have_v this_o principle_n indeed_o wrought_v upon_o your_o heart_n not_o only_o to_o say_v so_o in_o a_o way_n of_o argue_v but_o i_o account_v in_o my_o soul_n of_o no_o good_a in_o any_o thing_n further_o than_o it_o have_v reference_n to_o god_n as_o now_o i_o have_v for_o the_o present_a health_n of_o body_n where_o do_v the_o good_a of_o the_o health_n of_o my_o body_n lie_v it_o be_v that_o while_o i_o have_v health_n i_o have_v ability_n to_o serve_v god_n and_o be_v useful_a in_o the_o place_n where_o god_n have_v set_v i_o i_o have_v a_o estate_n wherein_o lie_v the_o good_a of_o it_o it_o lie_v in_o this_o that_o by_o this_o i_o may_v be_v instrumental_a for_o god_n more_o than_o other_o if_o i_o live_v wherein_o lie_v the_o good_a of_o life_n why_o that_o i_o may_v be_v useful_a to_o the_o church_n in_o the_o way_n wherein_o god_n have_v set_v i_o now_o when_o the_o heart_n be_v principled_a in_o this_o then_o if_o god_n take_v away_o my_o health_n then_o it_o seem_v god_n have_v no_o further_a use_n of_o my_o health_n for_o the_o present_a but_o will_v rather_o honour_v himself_o in_o another_o way_n upon_o i_o why_o now_o there_o be_v no_o good_a in_o my_o health_n and_o if_o god_n take_v away_o my_o estate_n than_o he_o will_v rather_o honour_v himself_o in_o the_o exercise_n of_o my_o humility_n and_o of_o my_o patience_n if_o god_n take_v away_o my_o life_n than_o god_n will_v rather_o have_v his_o honour_n from_o my_o soul_n to_o join_v with_o angel_n and_o saint_n in_o honour_v of_o he_o that_o way_n rather_o than_o in_o employ_v of_o i_o any_o further_a in_o this_o world_n such_o a_o principle_n as_o this_o be_v will_v mighty_o help_v the_o heart_n in_o the_o day_n of_o affliction_n certain_o our_o happiness_n do_v not_o depend_v upon_o what_o we_o have_v here_o in_o this_o world_n the_o reason_n why_o the_o heart_n be_v so_o trouble_v in_o the_o time_n of_o affliction_n it_o be_v because_o of_o this_o that_o man_n and_o woman_n look_v upon_o their_o happiness_n to_o consist_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o these_o thing_n o_o no_o thou_o dishonour_v the_o name_n of_o christ_n and_o thy_o holy_a profession_n to_o think_v that_o thy_o happiness_n shall_v depend_v upon_o such_o poor_a thing_n as_o these_o be_v sure_o jesus_n christ_n have_v not_o come_v to_o shed_v his_o blood_n and_o to_o purchase_v happiness_n for_o the_o saint_n and_o when_o all_o come_v too_o it_o shall_v be_v so_o poor_a as_o to_o depend_v upon_o all_o the_o uncertainty_n that_o we_o have_v in_o this_o world_n no_o no_o thy_o happiness_n lie_v hihger_n thy_o life_n be_v hide_v with_o christ_n in_o god_n if_o a_o man_n have_v a_o jewel_n worth_a many_o thousand_o and_o his_o house_n shall_v be_v on_o fire_n why_o though_o he_o lose_v the_o lumber_n and_o stuff_n in_o the_o house_n yet_o if_o he_o be_v sure_a the_o jewel_n be_v safe_a he_o be_v quiet_a now_o the_o saint_n they_o may_v be_v sure_a that_o they_o be_v safe_a for_o eternity_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o much_o what_o other_o thing_n be_v oh_o consider_v of_o these_o thing_n and_o work_v they_o upon_o your_o heart_n that_o be_v the_o second_o point_n but_o a_o word_n or_o two_o of_o the_o other_o doctr._n that_o be_v that_o that_o which_o seem_v ill_a to_o we_o may_v seem_v good_a to_o god_n it_o be_v the_o lord_n let_v he_o do_v what_o seem_v he_o good_a certain_o for_o the_o present_a it_o do_v not_o seem_v very_o good_a to_o ely_n if_o that_o ely_n judgement_n have_v be_v ask_v of_o those_o thing_n ely_n will_v have_v say_v that_o they_o have_v be_v very_o sad_a ay_o one_o thing_n many_o time_n conclude_v in_o my_o wretched_a weak_a foolish_a and_o unbelieve_a heart_n and_o another_o thing_n in_o heaven_n one_o thing_n conclude_v in_o the_o world_n and_o in_o man_n rumour_n and_o another_o thing_n in_o heaven_n it_o be_v some_o comfort_n to_o a_o man_n though_o he_o hear_v rumour_n abroad_o in_o the_o world_n if_o then_o he_o can_v have_v his_o own_o heart_n to_o contradict_v they_o if_o he_o have_v nothing_o else_o to_o think_v but_o this_o well_o that_o that_o be_v speak_v in_o the_o world_n be_v one_o thing_n and_o that_o that_o i_o find_v in_o my_o heart_n be_v another_o that_o be_v comfortable_a but_o this_o be_v great_a comfort_n thou_o be_v my_o portion_n say_v my_o soul_n say_v the_o
unto_o you_o there_o be_v something_o to_o be_v open_v unto_o you_o about_o your_o miserable_a state_n by_o nature_n for_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o open_v the_o doctrine_n of_o peace_n and_o reconciliation_n without_o the_o open_n of_o that_o and_o that_o may_v well_o be_v justify_v that_o though_o the_o first_o thing_n shall_v be_v to_o say_v peace_n yet_o before_o this_o can_v be_v the_o nature_n of_o the_o thing_n for_o though_o at_o first_o we_o be_v to_o open_v this_o peace_n yet_o when_o we_o come_v to_o open_v it_o this_o have_v that_o in_o the_o very_a bowel_n of_o it_o that_o will_v show_v the_o most_o woeful_a condition_n of_o man_n by_o nature_n that_o possible_o can_v be_v as_o for_o instance_n peace_n between_o god_n and_o we_o why_o what_o be_v we_o enemy_n be_v there_o a_o enmity_n between_o god_n and_o we_o yes_o that_o come_v here_o we_o can_v open_v the_o meaning_n of_o this_o peace_n but_o if_o we_o come_v once_o to_o open_v it_o we_o must_v of_o necessity_n fall_v upon_o the_o doctrine_n of_o man_n state_n by_o nature_n and_o show_v what_o a_o breach_n sin_n have_v make_v between_o god_n and_o the_o soul_n and_o what_o infinite_a need_n there_o be_v of_o such_o a_o redeemer_n that_o we_o can_v no_o other_o way_n be_v redeem_v but_o that_o we_o must_v have_v such_o a_o saviour_n that_o must_v be_v both_o god_n and_o man._n now_o when_o we_o come_v to_o open_v the_o nature_n of_o this_o it_o must_v needs_o show_v you_o what_o your_o miserable_a condition_n be_v by_o nature_n but_o a_o word_n or_o two_o for_o the_o application_n of_o this_o god_n do_v appoint_v his_o minister_n at_o first_o to_o come_v to_o you_o and_o to_o make_v the_o proffer_n of_o peace_n unto_o your_o soul_n than_o it_o shall_v teach_v you_o present_o to_o be_v willing_a to_o come_v and_o close_v with_o that_o message_n god_n heart_n be_v sofull_a of_o mercy_n towards_o you_o as_o at_o the_o very_a first_o he_o will_v have_v this_o offer_v to_o you_o then_o your_o heart_n shall_v likewise_o come_v in_o as_o well_o to_o god_n and_o at_o the_o very_a first_o come_v in_o and_o close_a with_o that_o bless_a offer_n of_o grace_n and_o mercy_n o_o it_o be_v a_o great_a encouragement_n to_o a_o minister_n when_o people_n come_v in_o at_o the_o very_a first_o offer_n we_o have_v a_o notable_a scripture_n for_o this_o in_o psal_n themselves_o shall_v rejoice_v in_o the_o day_n of_o jesus_n christ_n that_o they_o have_v not_o run_v in_o vain_a therefore_o to_o wind_v this_o up_o it_o shall_v be_v one_o strong_a motive_n to_o people_n to_o embrace_v the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n even_o for_o the_o encouragement_n of_o those_o who_o the_o lord_n do_v send_v among_o they_o that_o they_o may_v be_v willing_a to_o draw_v forth_o their_o heart_n and_o to_o venture_v their_o life_n among_o they_o as_o certain_o not_o one_o man_n of_o forty_o of_o a_o hundred_o scarce_o that_o shall_v preach_v to_o such_o a_o congregation_n as_o this_o but_o must_v expect_v a_o venture_v of_o his_o life_n in_o it_o but_o lot_n this_o message_n be_v but_o entertain_v it_o will_v be_v think_v to_o be_v thorough_o recompense_v for_o it_o will_v be_v a_o joy_n to_o those_o that_o do_v venture_v themselves_o among_o you_o it_o will_v be_v a_o joy_n in_o the_o day_n of_o jesus_n christ_n that_o they_o have_v not_o run_v in_o vain_a but_o we_o leave_v that_o point_n and_o come_v to_o the_o last_o part_n of_o the_o text._n if_o the_o son_n of_o peace_n be_v there_o your_o peace_n shall_v rest_v upon_o it_o but_o wheresoever_o he_o come_v shall_v not_o be_v entertain_v true_o this_o very_a supposition_n that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o possibility_n for_o any_o soul_n to_o who_o christ_n be_v reveal_v ever_o to_o reject_v do_v argue_v the_o extreme_a sinfulness_n of_o the_o heart_n of_o men._n o_o woe_n to_o we_o that_o such_o a_o thing_n shall_v be_v suppose_v as_o possible_a if_o not_o that_o christ_n shall_v come_v to_o any_o place_n and_o shall_v not_o be_v entertain_v what_o that_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n shall_v come_v and_o be_v reject_v when_o as_o it_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o the_o bring_n of_o the_o message_n of_o peace_n to_o a_o people_n between_o god_n and_o they_o they_o may_v think_v perhaps_o that_o it_o come_v to_o trouble_v they_o but_o the_o truth_n be_v the_o errand_n of_o all_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n among_o people_n it_o be_v no_o other_o in_o the_o conclusion_n and_o in_o the_o issue_n but_o to_o bring_v eternal_a peace_n to_o their_o soul_n and_o shall_v this_o be_v reject_v sometime_o it_o be_v so_o now_o in_o this_o we_o have_v these_o three_o thing_n first_o a_o sad_a supposition_n that_o sometime_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n come_v where_o it_o be_v reject_v by_o some_o second_o the_o encouragement_n of_o minister_n in_o this_o case_n christ_n do_v not_o only_o encourage_v they_o in_o case_n their_o ministry_n prevail_v that_o then_o they_o shall_v be_v instrument_n of_o so_o much_o good_a to_o soul_n but_o he_o do_v encourage_v they_o in_o case_n it_o do_v not_o prevail_v as_o if_o the_o disciple_n shall_v say_v i_o indeed_o if_o our_o ministry_n prevail_v that_o we_o may_v bring_v peace_n to_o soul_n we_o have_v enough_o but_o what_o if_o not_o it_o shall_v return_v to_o you_o again_o and_o then_o three_o a_o dreadful_a denunciation_n against_o all_o those_o that_o do_v not_o entertain_v the_o gospel_n and_o that_o be_v that_o they_o shall_v have_v no_o benefit_n of_o the_o peace_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n shall_v be_v take_v from_o they_o and_o that_o god_n will_v be_v very_o quick_a in_o his_o deal_n with_o they_o now_o then_o at_o this_o time_n for_o the_o first_o first_o if_o not_o this_o sad_a supposition_n from_o hence_o the_o point_n of_o doctrine_n or_o note_v of_o observation_n be_v this_o that_o the_o gospel_n do_v sometime_o go_v to_o place_n doct._n the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v sometime_o send_v to_o place_n where_o it_o be_v reject_v by_o man_n as_o before_o if_o the_o son_n of_o peace_n that_o suppose_v that_o where_o god_n do_v send_v the_o gospel_n there_o be_v some_o son_n of_o peace_n so_o if_o not_o here_o be_v a_o supposion_n that_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n may_v be_v send_v to_o a_o place_n and_o yet_o there_o may_v be_v some_o that_o will_v reject_v this_o bless_a ministry_n you_o know_v what_o be_v say_v of_o christ_n himself_o and_o well_o then_o may_v it_o be_v say_v of_o they_o he_o send_v to_o preach_v when_o christ_n himself_o come_v to_o his_o own_o john_n 1._o his_o own_o receive_v he_o not_o his_o own_o those_o that_o he_o have_v a_o pecular_a right_n in_o the_o people_n of_o the_o jew_n even_o such_o as_o be_v the_o only_a people_n that_o do_v profess_v the_o true_a god_n upon_o the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n i_o beseech_v you_o observe_v intend_v first_o how_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o it_o be_v reject_v or_o why_o man_n do_v reject_v the_o gospel_n second_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n that_o god_n will_v send_v it_o to_o those_o place_n that_o he_o know_v beforehand_o that_o it_o will_v not_o be_v entertain_v the_o lord_n send_v the_o ministry_n of_o peace_n the_o offer_n of_o peace_n by_o jesus_n christ_n to_o soul_n and_o yet_o they_o do_v not_o regard_v it_o but_o cast_v it_o off_o because_o indeed_o first_o the_o generality_n of_o people_n they_o do_v not_o know_v god_n they_o do_v not_o know_v that_o they_o have_v to_o deal_v with_o a_o infinite_a and_o glorious_a god_n in_o all_o their_o way_n they_o do_v not_o know_v who_o it_o be_v that_o they_o have_v sin_v against_o and_o therefore_o do_v not_o understand_v their_o danger_n and_o upon_o this_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v but_o a_o dry_a thing_n unto_o they_o whereas_o do_v but_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n understand_v what_o a_o infinite_a and_o a_o glorious_a majesty_n they_o have_v to_o deal_v withal_o and_o thereby_o what_o a_o dreadful_a thing_n it_o be_v to_o have_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n to_o be_v reveal_v to_o their_o soul_n they_o will_v hearken_v to_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n that_o this_o be_v the_o reason_n it_o appear_v in_o john_n 15._o 20_o 21._o say_v christ_n to_o his_o disciple_n remember_v the_o word_n that_o i_o say_v unto_o you_o the_o servant_n be_v not_o great_a than_o the_o lord_n if_o they_o have_v persecute_v i_o they_o will_v also_o pesecute_v you_o if_o they_o have_v keep_v my_o say_n they_o will_v keep_v you_o also_o but_o now_o mark_v ver_fw-la 21._o but_o all_o these_o thing_n will_v they_o do_v unto_o you_o for_o my_o name_n sake_n because_o the_o gospel_n and_o we_o know_v that_o man_n that_o love_v their_o sin_n can_v endure_v that_o which_o do_v discover_v the_o evil_a of_o it_o but_o you_o will_v say_v how_o do_v the_o gospel_n discover_v so_o much_o of_o the_o evil_a of_o sin_n certain_o you_o may_v see_v more_o of_o the_o evil_a of_o sin_n by_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n
hear_v it_o my_o soul_n shall_v weep_v in_o secret_a place_n for_o your_o pride_n and_o my_o eye_n shall_v weep_v sore_o and_o run_v down_o with_o tear_n because_o the_o lord_n flock_v be_v carry_v away_o captive_a if_o you_o will_v not_o hear_v that_o indeed_o shall_v be_v the_o work_n of_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n when_o they_o be_v reject_v not_o to_o be_v careless_a and_o say_v sometime_o reject_v all_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n in_o his_o son_n we_o shall_v not_o think_v much_o though_o our_o love_n and_o kindness_n towards_o other_o be_v many_o time_n slight_v and_o may_v never_o come_v to_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o good_a of_o those_o thing_n it_o have_v be_v so_o with_o many_o and_o you_o must_v look_v to_o your_o own_o heart_n do_v not_o bless_v yourselves_o in_o this_o through_o god_n mercy_n the_o lord_n have_v send_v we_o his_o word_n plentiful_o and_o the_o gospel_n come_v to_o be_v open_v clear_o among_o we_o that_o be_v not_o enough_o what_o god_n have_v do_v but_o look_v you_o into_o your_o own_o heart_n how_o you_o embrace_v it_o otherwise_o the_o gospel_n may_v come_v among_o you_o and_o yet_o you_o never_o come_v to_o be_v save_v by_o it_o but_o this_o indeed_o be_v a_o sad_a condition_n wheresoever_o it_o be_v four_o further_o god_n minister_n be_v to_o learn_v from_o hence_o not_o to_o be_v discourage_v they_o come_v and_o preach_v and_o with_o a_o expectation_n to_o prevail_v with_o the_o heart_n of_o people_n to_o draw_v they_o to_o christ_n when_o they_o have_v be_v in_o their_o study_n labour_v to_o find_v out_o some_o truth_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o to_o sit_v it_o to_o the_o heart_n of_o their_o auditor_n and_o have_v be_v pray_v over_o it_o they_o come_v now_o with_o expectation_n that_o some_o good_a may_v be_v do_v that_o some_o soul_n may_v be_v draw_v in_o to_o christ_n yet_o perhaps_o find_v it_o quite_o otherwise_o and_o the_o people_n to_o sit_v dead_a under_o it_o it_o may_v be_v slight_a it_o contemn_v it_o scorn_v it_o disobey_v it_o but_o they_o must_v not_o be_v i_o say_v discourage_v in_o this_o as_o if_o so_o be_v a_o strange_a thing_n have_v befall_v they_o what_o be_v thou_o more_o than_o jesus_n christ_n thy_o master_n what_o be_v thou_o more_o than_o paul_n and_o other_o of_o the_o apostle_n they_o have_v be_v reject_v all_o in_o their_o ministry_n and_o what_o be_v thou_o that_o thou_o can_v not_o bear_v any_o rejection_n indeed_o it_o be_v the_o hard_a thing_n to_o be_v bear_v by_o a_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o possible_o may_v be_v but_o consider_v that_o it_o be_v not_o a_o new_a thing_n for_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v reject_v i_o remember_v i_o have_v read_v of_o melancthon_n he_o have_v such_o thought_n that_o when_o he_o begin_v to_o preach_v he_o shall_v convert_v all_o that_o hear_v he_o he_o think_v there_o be_v so_o much_o reason_n in_o what_o he_o speak_v and_o so_o much_o evidence_n and_o power_n to_o prevail_v with_o the_o heart_n of_o people_n that_o he_o think_v he_o shall_v prevail_v with_o every_o one_o but_o he_o find_v it_o otherwise_o by_o experience_n and_o though_o indeed_o when_o any_o minister_n that_o be_v acquaint_v with_o the_o glorious_a thing_n of_o god_n and_o christ_n come_v to_o open_v they_o to_o people_n they_o be_v ready_a to_o think_v such_o thing_n will_v sure_o prevail_v with_o the_o heart_n of_o people_n but_o the_o lord_n teach_v he_o to_o know_v that_o the_o blessing_n depend_v upon_o himself_o that_o though_o the_o thing_n be_v never_o so_o excellent_a and_o move_a yet_o all_o will_v not_o do_v except_o the_o lord_n come_v in_o by_o his_o almighty_a power_n five_o let_v all_o those_o with_o who_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o gospel_n do_v prevail_v in_o any_o measure_n bless_v god_n that_o make_v such_o a_o difference_n between_o they_o and_o any_o other_o it_o be_v preach_v unto_o many_o but_o do_v they_o no_o good_a but_o the_o lord_n have_v call_v thou_o out_o and_o it_o have_v strike_v thy_o heart_n convert_v thy_o spirit_n thou_o see_v cause_n to_o stand_v and_o admire_v at_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n and_o thou_o wondere_v perhaps_o that_o all_o a_o minister_n and_o especial_o when_o his_o ministry_n have_v not_o success_n and_o therefore_o this_o point_n be_v very_o reasonable_a to_o tell_v unto_o they_o all_o that_o though_o they_o have_v not_o the_o success_n that_o they_o desire_v yet_o the_o good_a of_o their_o ministry_n shall_v return_v upon_o they_o again_o be_v there_o a_o people_n that_o they_o be_v send_v to_o to_o who_o do_v they_o offer_v christ_n why_o they_o will_v fain_o gain_v their_o soul_n unto_o christ_n that_o they_o may_v live_v for_o ever_o in_o praise_v the_o riches_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n in_o the_o high_a heaven_n but_o will_v they_o not_o know_v thou_o shait_fw-fr have_v the_o blessing_n of_o that_o peace_n look_v what_o glory_n and_o comfort_n they_o shall_v have_v have_v return_v into_o your_o bosom_n and_o therefore_o be_v encourage_v in_o every_o good_a work_n as_o minister_n shall_v be_v encourage_v in_o their_o ministry_n though_o they_o have_v not_o success_n so_o you_o every_o one_o in_o your_o measure_n shall_v be_v encourage_v in_o every_o work_n that_o god_n have_v call_v you_o unto_o go_v on_o therefore_o with_o peace_n and_o with_o comfort_n in_o all_o the_o work_n that_o heretofore_o you_o have_v be_v so_o much_o discourage_v in_o for_o the_o reward_n be_v to_o your_o faithfulness_n and_o not_o to_o the_o success_n of_o your_o work_n the_o next_o to_o this_o be_v your_o peace_n shall_v return_v that_o be_v as_o i_o show_v you_o it_o shall_v return_v with_o as_o much_o power_n and_o efficacy_n for_o they_o may_v think_v thus_o lord_n and_o now_o the_o edge_n seem_v to_o be_v off_o and_o never_o like_a to_o do_v good_a any_o where_o no_o say_v christ_n do_v not_o reason_n so_o do_v not_o think_v that_o your_o gospel_n have_v lose_v the_o edge_n of_o it_o it_o shall_v return_v to_o you_o again_o with_o as_o much_o power_n as_o ever_o it_o do_v at_o first_o it_o be_v not_o so_o with_o the_o gospel_n as_o with_o other_o thing_n many_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n if_o once_o they_o receive_v a_o repulse_n their_o edge_n be_v take_v off_o but_o the_o gospel_n though_o it_o do_v receive_v a_o repulse_n yet_o still_o the_o edge_n of_o it_o shall_v continue_v and_o the_o power_n of_o it_o this_o be_v that_o which_o the_o apostle_n say_v 2_o tim._n 2._o 10._o wherein_o i_o suffer_v trouble_n as_o a_o evil-doer_n even_o unto_o
