viz._n that_o he_o be_v a_o person_n who_o by_o the_o influence_n of_o god_n upon_o his_o rational_a faculty_n do_v attain_v to_o such_o knowledge_n as_o by_o his_o natural_a ability_n will_v in_o one_o respect_n or_o other_o be_v unattainable_a in_o which_o description_n it_o concern_v we_o at_o present_a to_o observe_v only_o that_o it_o be_v not_o prediction_n but_o influence_n from_o god_n which_o constitute_v a_o prophet_n at_o least_o such_o a_o one_o as_o we_o be_v now_o speak_v of_o and_o that_o this_o be_v no_o new_a notion_n adapt_v to_o our_o present_a undertake_n be_v evident_a himself_o say_v be_v to_o be_v interpret_v 36._o that_o way_n whatsoever_o it_o be_v i_o suppose_v he_o mean_v without_o the_o ministry_n of_o man_n by_o which_o god_n make_v they_o to_o understand_v man_n in_o the_o world_n the_o power_n and_o wisdom_n of_o god_n together_o with_o the_o capacity_n of_o man_n soul_n be_v enough_o to_o remove_v all_o suspicion_n of_o its_o impossibility_n he_o that_o make_v the_o mind_n shall_v not_o he_o be_v able_a to_o teach_v man_n knowledge_n and_o he_o that_o be_v make_v on_o purpose_n to_o know_v god_n and_o give_v he_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o handiwork_n shall_v not_o he_o be_v think_v capable_a of_o learning_n from_o such_o a_o teacher_n there_o be_v therefore_o no_o show_n of_o reason_n to_o doubt_v the_o possibility_n of_o prophecy_n especial_o consider_v that_o all_o sort_n of_o man_n how_o wide_a soever_o their_o difference_n be_v in_o other_o matter_n do_v yet_o agree_v in_o this_o viz._n that_o there_o be_v or_o have_v be_v such_o prophet_n in_o the_o world_n this_o be_v so_o manifest_a and_o vulgar_o know_v to_o be_v the_o belief_n of_o christian_n jew_n and_o turk_n as_o that_o among_o all_o that_o have_v hear_v of_o there_o be_v nothing_o more_o unlikely_a and_o ridiculous_a it_o must_v therefore_o be_v grant_v to_o the_o jew_n that_o god_n prophet_n be_v though_o it_o may_v be_v not_o always_o learned_a in_o language_n art_n and_o science_n etc._n etc._n yet_o wise_a and_o prudent_a man_n and_o this_o their_o prudence_n dwell_v with_o such_o knowledge_n as_o be_v unattainable_a without_o revelation_n and_o that_o in_o one_o or_o more_o of_o these_o three_o respect_n either_o first_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o thing_n know_v as_o in_o their_o prediction_n of_o future_a contingence_n of_o which_o hereafter_o or_o second_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o manner_n of_o their_o knowledge_n my_o meaning_n be_v that_o those_o thing_n which_o of_o their_o own_o nature_n be_v such_o as_o may_v have_v be_v know_v by_o the_o power_n of_o our_o natural_a ability_n be_v sometime_o make_v know_v to_o the_o prophet_n by_o immediate_a revelation_n thus_o the_o prophet_n samuel_n almost_o all_o sort_n of_o humane_a learning_n find_v christianity_n to_o be_v the_o only_a sure_a and_o useful_a philosophy_n try_n we_o can_v except_v against_o his_o judgement_n as_o that_o of_o otherwise_o proof_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o prophecy_n than_o as_o they_o make_v evidence_n of_o such_o foreknowledge_n if_o then_o the_o apostle_n be_v endue_v with_o this_o the_o matter_n be_v not_o much_o whither_o or_o no_o they_o be_v author_n of_o those_o especial_o in_o the_o thing_n now_o under_o consideration_n because_o christ_n have_v foretell_v it_o before_o they_o and_o send_v to_o fulfil_v it_o and_o this_o he_o do_v so_o plain_o in_o his_o parable_n 45._o viz._n that_o of_o the_o king_n which_o make_v a_o marriage_n for_o his_o son_n and_o that_o of_o the_o housholder_n barbarian_n that_o give_v their_o mind_n to_o the_o study_n of_o it_o there_o be_v not_o only_o many_o question_n but_o divers_a sect_n and_o sort_n of_o physician_n thus_o also_o philosophy_n that_o promise_v the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o direction_n for_o a_o good_a life_n it_o be_v well_o know_v there_o be_v divers_a sect_n about_o it_o some_o more_o some_o less_o famous_a yea_o and_o judaisme_n itself_o though_o acknowledge_v to_o be_v of_o divine_a origine_fw-la yet_o give_v occasion_n to_o sect_n and_o division_n among_o those_o that_o own_v it_o so_o to_o be_v from_o hence_o it_o follow_v that_o though_o it_o be_v grant_v christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n do_v foresee_v and_o foretell_v there_o will_v be_v division_n among_o their_o follower_n yet_o this_o do_v not_o argue_v they_o be_v endue_v with_o the_o spirit_n of_o prophecy_n because_o wise_a man_n by_o compare_v thing_n pass_v with_o thing_n present_a may_v guess_v at_o thing_n future_a yea_o by_o the_o strength_n of_o ratiocination_n they_o may_v be_v so_o very_o persuade_v concern_v their_o future_a existence_n as_o that_o with_o some_o confidence_n and_o good_a success_n they_o may_v foretell_v it_o ans_fw-fr it_o seem_v than_o it_o be_v grant_v that_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n be_v wise_a man_n otherwise_o they_o can_v not_o have_v be_v author_n of_o such_o conjecture_n but_o that_o
