or_o persuasion_n his_o speech_n must_v not_o be_v answerable_a to_o that_o which_o be_v in_o his_o mind_n if_o he_o know_v a_o thing_n to_o be_v false_a and_o swear_v it_o be_v false_a this_o be_v no_o perjury_n 2._o in_o perjury_n there_o must_v be_v a_o oath_n it_o be_v not_o perjury_n to_o affirm_v a_o thing_n that_o be_v false_a unless_o he_o also_o swear_v to_o the_o thing_n he_o affirm_v false_o against_o his_o mind_n yet_o every_o oath_n make_v not_o a_o direct_a perjury_n unless_o it_o be_v a_o bind_a oath_n for_o a_o man_n may_v swear_v unto_o a_o thing_n that_o be_v unlawful_a and_o afterward_o alter_v his_o mind_n and_o not_o perform_v his_o oath_n without_o perjury_n now_o he_o sin_v in_o so_o swear_v and_o thereby_o oblige_v to_o repentance_n yet_o he_o be_v not_o upon_o himself_o wish_v god_n to_o be_v a_o witness_n of_o his_o speech_n and_o a_o judge_n to_o revenge_n if_o he_o swear_v false_o so_o as_o herein_o a_o man_n be_v his_o own_o enemy_n and_o as_o much_o as_o in_o he_o lie_v do_v cast_v his_o own_o both_o body_n and_o soul_n into_o hell_n now_o as_o touch_v vow_n know_v that_o these_o four_o condition_n be_v require_v in_o every_o lawful_a vow_n viz._n 1._o concern_v the_o person_n of_o he_o that_o vow_v that_o he_o be_v a_o fit_a person_n 2._o concern_v the_o matter_n of_o a_o vow_n that_o it_o be_v lawful_a possible_a and_o acceptable_a to_o god_n it_o may_v not_o therefore_o be_v sin_n not_o trifle_n or_o light_a matter_n nor_o thing_n mere_o necessary_a as_o to_o die_v which_o can_v be_v avoid_v nor_o thing_n impossible_a 3._o concern_v the_o form_n of_o a_o vow_n it_o must_v be_v voluntary_a and_o free_a now_o that_o it_o may_v be_v so_o these_o three_o thing_n be_v necessary_a 1._o that_o it_o be_v make_v in_o judgement_n that_o be_v in_o reason_n and_o deliberation_n 2._o that_o it_o be_v do_v with_o consent_n of_o will._n 3._o with_o liberty_n of_o conscience_n 4._o concern_v the_o end_n of_o end_n of_o a_o lawful_a vow_n viz._n 1._o to_o show_v ourselves_o thankful_a to_o god_n for_o blessing_n receive_v 2._o to_o prevent_v sin_n to_o come_v by_o keep_v sobriety_n and_o moderation_n 3._o to_o preserve_v and_o increase_v our_o faith_n prayer_n repentance_n and_o obedience_n again_o in_o a_o vow_n consider_v 1._o what_o it_o be_v be_v even_o a_o free_a and_o solemn_a promise_n to_o
