thou_o thou_o humble_v thyself_o that_o we_o may_v be_v exalt_v thou_o become_v poor_a to_o make_v we_o rich_a thou_o come_v down_o to_o the_o earth_n to_o live_v in_o humility_n that_o we_o may_v be_v exalt_v to_o live_v in_o felicity_n thou_o be_v poor_a in_o estate_n mean_v in_o attire_n and_o base_a in_o all_o thing_n before_o the_o world_n in_o respect_n of_o thy_o humanity_n but_o before_o thy_o heavenly_a father_n in_o respect_n of_o thy_o deity_n most_o magnifical_a and_o glorious_a and_o therefore_o not_o without_o cause_n thou_o bid_v we_o learn_v of_o thou_o say_v learn_v of_o i_o for_o i_o be_o humble_a &_o lowly_a &_o your_o soul_n shall_v live_v thou_o overthrowe_v the_o proud_a in_o their_o own_o imagination_n and_o give_v grace_n to_o the_o humble_a yea_o thou_o so_o much_o abhor_v pride_n that_o thou_o iudge_v they_o to_o eternal_a damnation_n that_o offend_v therein_o if_o we_o will_v consider_v with_o ourselves_o our_o own_o misery_n we_o shall_v have_v be_v regenerate_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n be_v they_o not_o bondslave_n to_o satan_n receptacle_n to_o fiend_n and_o subject_a to_o everlasting_a damnation_n what_o have_v we_o now_o that_o we_o have_v not_o receive_v or_o whereof_o may_v we_o be_v proud_a wherefore_o o_o my_o god_n i_o beseech_v thou_o who_o be_v the_o true_a mirror_n of_o all_o humility_n give_v i_o the_o spirit_n of_o meekness_n humbleness_n and_o lowliness_n of_o heart_n and_o keep_v i_o from_o all_o filthy_a pride_n &_o arrogancy_n of_o body_n or_o mind_n that_o i_o never_o lift_v up_o myself_o into_o pride_n against_o thou_o or_o think_v of_o myself_o above_o that_o which_o i_o be_o of_o myself_o but_o that_o i_o cast_v down_o myself_o and_o distrust_v my_o own_o worthiness_n may_v be_v by_o thou_o advance_v to_o eternal_a glory_n grant_v that_o those_o thing_n which_o thou_o give_v i_o for_o necessity_n sake_n only_o as_o thou_o do_v my_o apparel_n to_o hide_v my_o shame_n withal_o may_v never_o be_v abuse_v of_o i_o as_o instrument_n of_o wickedness_n and_o those_o thing_n which_o thou_o give_v i_o to_o praise_n and_o glorify_v thou_o withal_o as_o thou_o do_v my_o heart_n my_o tongue_n &_o mouth_n i_o never_o abuse_v to_o thy_o dishonour_n and_o as_o it_o may_v please_v thou_o to_o endue_v i_o with_o this_o true_a humility_n of_o mind_n towards_o thou_o so_o i_o beseech_v thou_o to_o give_v i_o the_o true_a humility_n of_o body_n and_o mind_n towards_o my_o brethren_n also_o that_o i_o be_v not_o puff_v up_o nor_o advance_v myself_o above_o they_o disdain_v or_o contemn_v they_o though_o otherwise_o never_o so_o mean_a or_o contemptible_a before_o the_o world_n and_o whensoever_o the_o enemy_n assault_v i_o to_o stir_v i_o up_o to_o pride_n i_o beseech_v arrogant_a miscreant_n and_o many_o other_o who_o through_o the_o sin_n of_o pride_n rebel_v against_o thou_o and_o may_v by_o these_o example_n be_v terrify_v from_o commit_v that_o great_a &_o heinous_a sin_n against_o thou_o that_o i_o humble_v myself_o in_o this_o world_n after_o the_o consummation_n of_o this_o life_n may_v be_v exalt_v in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n there_o to_o reign_v with_o thou_o for_o ever_o and_o ever_o amen_n a_o prayer_n against_o gluttony_n and_o drunkenness_n bless_a lord_n as_o thou_o have_v create_v man_n after_o thy_o own_o similitude_n and_o likeness_n and_o have_v give_v he_o a_o perfect_a body_n like_o unto_o thy_o son_n jesus_n christ_n so_o thou_o have_v ordain_v and_o provide_v for_o he_o ordinary_a mean_n as_o meat_n drink_n flesh_n fish_n herb_n oil_n wine_n &_o what_o not_o to_o keep_v and_o sustain_v the_o same_o and_o have_v command_v these_o thy_o creature_n to_o be_v moderate_o take_v to_o the_o sustentation_n of_o the_o body_n with_o praise_n and_o thanksgiving_n to_o thou_o accurse_v they_o to_o hell_n who_o by_o abuse_v not_o lawful_o use_v these_o thy_o blessing_n make_v they_o instrument_n of_o sin_n and_o so_o consequent_o of_o damnation_n to_o themselves_o give_v i_o grace_n i_o beseech_v thou_o that_o i_o may_v never_o abuse_v thy_o gift_n through_o gluttony_n drunkenness_n riot_n or_o excess_n but_o that_o i_o live_v in_o all_o godly_a temperance_n and_o sobriety_n may_v be_v thankful_a unto_o thou_o for_o they_o and_o also_o use_v they_o for_o my_o necessity_n know_v that_o our_o meat_n without_o thy_o blessing_n can_v nourish_v the_o body_n but_o destroy_v it_o rather_o as_o experience_n daily_o teach_v make_v i_o o_o lord_n to_o loath_a and_o detest_v this_o horrible_a vice_n so_o much_o the_o more_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o filthynes_n of_o the_o same_o for_o beside_o that_o it_o transform_v man_n into_o the_o image_n of_o a_o beast_n or_o rather_o make_v he_o worse_o than_o a_o beast_n for_o they_o neither_o eat_v nor_o drink_v without_o measure_n it_o also_o blind_v his_o eye_n of_o reason_n
therefore_o in_o thy_o infinite_a wisdom_n thou_o have_v now_o restrain_v we_o from_o bodily_a labour_n that_o we_o may_v be_v there_o by_o free_v from_o all_o encumbrance_n of_o care_n and_o worldly_a mindedness_n and_o so_o may_v whole_o apply_v ourselves_o both_o to_o the_o public_a and_o private_a mean_n and_o practice_n of_o thy_o worship_n therein_o even_o all_o the_o day_n and_o that_o we_o may_v so_o do_v o_o grant_v we_o we_o humble_o pray_v thou_o to_o call_v thy_o sabbath_n a_o delight_n to_o consecrate_v it_o glorious_a unto_o thou_o eschew_v our_o own_o way_n and_o constant_a follow_v thou_o in_o all_o the_o way_n of_o thy_o worship_n as_o may_v any_o way_n seem_v to_o the_o sanctify_a of_o this_o day_n and_o because_o i_o be_o like_a to_o meet_v with_o many_o hindrance_n herein_o both_o within_o and_o without_o my_o own_o heart_n within_o repine_v hereat_o as_o a_o heavy_a yoke_n and_o plead_v for_o unseasonable_a and_o carnal_a liberty_n the_o world_n without_o allure_a by_o cunning_a pretence_n and_o contrary_a example_n and_o scorn_v my_o strictness_n and_o scrupulousness_n herein_o o_o arm_v i_o strong_o gracious_a god_n against_o all_o these_o enchantment_n and_o foolish_a scarecrow_n that_o i_o may_v not_o lean_a to_o i_o own_o wisdom_n but_o to_o thy_o sacred_a word_n study_v the_o more_o careful_o to_o please_v thou_o in_o all_o thing_n that_o i_o may_v stop_v the_o mouth_n of_o gainsayer_n or_o gloâ—ie_v herein_o the_o more_o that_o they_o be_v still_o open_v against_o welldoing_a &_o shall_v provoke_v thou_o just_o to_o stop_v their_o mouth_n in_o due_a time_n with_o confusion_n o_o persuade_v my_o heart_n as_o thou_o have_v teach_v i_o that_o thy_o yoke_n be_v easy_a thy_o ordinance_n not_o grievous_a and_o grant_v i_o to_o try_v my_o ease_n by_o the_o disease_a of_o my_o flesh_n and_o to_o prepare_v for_o comfort_n therein_o by_o grief_n for_o my_o faylling_n which_o may_v still_o provoke_v i_o to_o continue_v therein_o and_o the_o subdue_a of_o my_o flesh_n may_v better_o fit_v i_o to_o the_o cheerful_a undergo_n thereof_o and_o the_o more_o i_o feel_v my_o own_o want_n and_o grieve_v therein_o the_o it_o open_v my_o heart_n again_o by_o apply_v thy_o ordinance_n to_o my_o present_a and_o special_a want_n and_o so_o break_v the_o stony_a rock_n again_o that_o the_o tear_n of_o hearty_a repentance_n may_v gush_v out_o plentiful_o o_o then_o let_v it_o shut_v my_o heart_n fast_o by_o confidence_n in_o thou_o that_o i_o sink_v not_o in_o despair_n and_o then_o let_v it_o open_v and_o enlarge_v my_o heart_n again_o with_o joy_n unspeakable_a and_o glorious_a in_o the_o sense_n of_o thy_o rich_a mercy_n and_o now_o let_v it_o shut_v up_o my_o heart_n again_o against_o self_n love_n &_o spiritual_a pride_n that_o so_o it_o may_v be_v open_v by_o special_a grace_n to_o all_o gracious_a and_o constant_a duty_n to_o thou_o myself_o and_o my_o neighbour_n and_o when_o we_o be_v to_o meet_v thou_o together_o in_o that_o holy_a communion_n o_o prepare_v the_o room_n for_o thyself_o that_o thou_o may_v delight_v to_o feast_v with_o i_o and_o give_v i_o a_o heavenly_a appetite_n thy_o everlasting_a presence_n so_o enlarge_v i_o from_o thy_o bounty_n to_o all_o occasion_n for_o thy_o sake_n to_o fill_v the_o empty_a to_o empty_a the_o gorge_v stomach_n to_o raise_v the_o humble_v recall_v the_o wander_a confirm_v the_o weakâ—_n inform_v the_o ignorant_a convince_v the_o obstinate_a comfort_v the_o abject_a and_o reconcile_v the_o averse_a &_o in_o all_o these_o give_v i_o good_a lord_n a_o cheerful_a heart_n rather_o choose_v to_o prevent_v then_o be_v prevent_v herein_o rather_o strive_v with_o the_o last_o then_o give_v over_o with_o the_o first_o and_o so_o what_o i_o have_v find_v a_o broad_a o_o grant_v i_o to_o communicate_v at_o home_n with_o my_o god_n in_o prayer_n to_o bless_v it_o unto_o i_o with_o myself_o in_o private_a application_n to_o be_v better_v thereby_o with_o my_o family_n in_o conference_n and_o instruction_n to_o increase_v the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n still_o raise_v my_o soul_n high_a from_o the_o world_n by_o meditation_n of_o the_o wisdom_n and_o goodness_n of_o my_o god_n in_o his_o wonderful_a work_n &_o so_o still_o more_o abase_v my_o flesh_n in_o the_o view_n and_o sense_n of_o my_o own_o unprofitablenesse_n in_o weakness_n that_o though_o i_o find_v no_o more_o in_o my_o rekcon_n but_o a_o dear_a and_o more_o deep_a sense_n of_o my_o corruption_n as_o this_o day_n to_o discern_v &_o detest_v the_o same_o so_o
