the_o difficulty_n that_o there_o be_v to_o give_v a_o account_n of_o that_o i_o hope_v do_v not_o with_o your_o lordship_n weaken_v the_o credibility_n of_o the_o inseparable_a union_n of_o soul_n and_o body_n to_o eternity_n and_o i_o persuade_v myself_o that_o the_o man_n of_o sense_n to_o who_o your_o lordship_n appeal_v in_o the_o case_n do_v not_o find_v their_o belief_n of_o this_o fundamental_a point_n much_o weaken_v by_o that_o difficulty_n i_o think_v heretofore_o and_o by_o your_o lordship_n permission_n will_v think_v so_o still_o that_o the_o union_n of_o part_n of_o matter_n one_o with_o another_o be_v as_o much_o in_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n as_o the_o union_n of_o a_o material_a and_o immaterial_a substance_n and_o that_o it_o do_v not_o take_v off_o very_o much_o or_o at_o all_o from_o the_o evidence_n of_o immortality_n which_o depend_v on_o that_o union_n that_o it_o be_v no_o easy_a matter_n to_o give_v a_o account_n what_o it_o be_v that_o shall_v keep_v they_o together_o though_o its_o depend_v whole_o upon_o the_o gift_n and_o good_a pleasure_n of_o god_n where_o the_o manner_n create_v great_a difficulty_n in_o the_o understanding_n and_o our_o reason_n can_v discover_v in_o the_o nature_n of_o thing_n how_o it_o be_v be_v that_o which_o your_o lordship_n so_o positive_o say_v lessen_v the_o credibility_n of_o the_o fundamental_a article_n of_o the_o resurrection_n and_o immortality_n but_o my_o lord_n to_o remove_v this_o objection_n a_o little_a and_o to_o show_v of_o how_o small_a force_n it_o be_v even_o with_o yourself_o give_v i_o leave_v to_o presume_v that_o your_o lordship_n as_o firm_o believe_v the_o immortality_n of_o the_o body_n after_o the_o resurrection_n as_o any_o other_o article_n of_o faith_n if_o so_o than_o it_o be_v no_o easy_a matter_n to_o give_v a_o account_n what_o it_o be_v that_o shall_v keep_v together_o the_o part_n of_o a_o material_a soul_n to_o one_o that_o believe_v it_o be_v material_a can_v no_o more_o weaken_v the_o credibility_n of_o its_o immortality_n than_o the_o like_a difficulty_n weaken_v the_o credibility_n of_o the_o immortality_n of_o the_o body_n for_o when_o when_o life_n be_v go_v and_o because_o it_o be_v not_o a_o easy_a matter_n to_o give_v a_o account_n how_o the_o soul_n shall_v be_v capable_a of_o immortality_n unless_o it_o be_v a_o immaterial_a substance_n therefore_o it_o be_v not_o so_o credible_a as_o if_o it_o be_v easy_a to_o give_v a_o account_n by_o natural_a reason_n how_o it_o can_v be_v for_o to_o this_o it_o be_v that_o all_o this_o your_o discourse_n tend_v as_o be_v evident_a by_o what_o be_v already_o set_v down_o out_o of_o page_n 55_o and_o will_v be_v more_o full_o make_v out_o by_o what_o your_o lordship_n say_v place_n assert_v and_o insist_v on_o this_o truth_n that_o no_o part_n of_o divine_a revelation_n be_v the_o less_o to_o be_v believe_v because_o the_o thing_n itself_o oreat_v great_a difficulty_n in_o the_o understanding_n and_o the_o manner_n of_o it_o be_v hard_a to_o be_v explain_v and_o it_o be_v no_o easy_a matter_n to_o give_v a_o account_n how_o it_o be_v this_o as_o i_o take_v it_o your_o lordship_n condemn_v in_o other_o as_o a_o very_a unreaonable_a principle_n and_o such_o as_o will_v subvert_v all_o the_o article_n of_o the_o christian_a religion_n that_o be_v mere_a matter_n of_o faith_n as_o i_o think_v it_o will_v and_o be_v it_o possible_a that_o you_o shall_v make_v use_n of_o it_o here_o yourself_o against_o the_o article_n of_o life_n and_o immortality_n that_o christ_n have_v bring_v to_o light_v through_o the_o gospel_n and_o neither_o be_v nor_o can_v be_v make_v out_o by_o natural_a reason_n without_o revelation_n but_o you_o will_v say_v you_o lordship_n say_v 28._o that_o you_o appeal_v to_o any_o man_n of_o sense_n whether_o to_o a_o man_n who_o think_v by_o his_o principle_n he_o can_v from_o natural_a ground_n demonstrate_v the_o immortality_n of_o the_o soul_n the_o find_v the_o uncertainty_n of_o those_o principle_n he_o go_v upon_o in_o point_n of_o reason_n i._n e._n the_o find_n he_o can_v not_o certain_o prove_v it_o high_a degree_n of_o faith_n which_o the_o apostle_n recommend_v to_o believer_n in_o his_o time_n by_o full_a assurance_n but_o assurance_n of_o faith_n though_o it_o be_v what_o assurance_n soever_o will_v by_o no_o mean_n down_o with_o your_o lordship_n in_o my_o writing_n you_o say_v 26._o i_o allow_v assurance_n of_o faith_n god_n forbid_v i_o shall_v do_v otherwise_o but_o than_o you_o ask_v why_o not_o certainty_n as_o well_o as_o assurance_n my_o lord_n i_o think_v it_o may_v be_v a_o reason_n not_o misbecome_v a_o poor_a layman_n and_o such_o as_o he_o may_v presume_v will_v satisfy_v that_o in_o this_o first_o head_n 27-31_a which_o we_o be_v upon_o your_o lordship_n have_v use_v the_o term_n certain_a and_o certainty_n near_o twenty_o time_n but_o without_o determine_v in_o any_o of_o they_o whether_o you_o mean_v knowledge_n or_o the_o full_a assurance_n of_o faith_n or_o any_o degree_n of_o believe_v though_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o in_o these_o page_n your_o lordship_n use_v certainty_n for_o all_o these_o three_o which_o ambiguous_a use_n of_o the_o main_a word_n in_o that_o discourse_n can_v but_o render_v your_o lordship_n sense_n clear_a and_o perspicuous_a
