be_v for_o 1_o st_z his_o redemption_n be_v universal_a for_o all_o mankind_n as_o it_o be_v in_o he_o respect_v his_o be_v a_o universal_a sacrifice_n and_o propitiation_n by_o his_o death_n and_o blood_n for_o all_o mankind_n while_o we_o be_v enemy_n christ_n die_v god_n be_v in_o christ_n reconcile_n the_o world_n to_o himself_o the_o price_n be_v universal_a but_o 2_o dly_a it_o be_v they_o who_o only_o believe_v in_o he_o that_o receive_v this_o redemption_n and_o they_o who_o be_v not_o only_o reconcile_v through_o his_o death_n but_o also_o save_v by_o his_o life_n who_o by_o he_o have_v receive_v the_o atonement_n or_o peace_n make_v by_o he_o so_o that_o though_o the_o redemption_n and_o price_n as_o in_o christ_n or_o on_o his_o part_n be_v universal_a yet_o the_o end_n thereof_o be_v not_o receive_v by_o all_o but_o only_o by_o those_o who_o believe_v and_o live_v unto_o he_o and_o so_o the_o glory_n of_o our_o redemption_n &_o salvation_n we_o ascribe_v unto_o he_o who_o give_v himself_o for_o we_o that_o he_o may_v redeem_v we_o from_o all_o iniquity_n which_o answer_v the_o end_n and_o manifest_v the_o compleatness_n of_o that_o redemption_n for_o which_o christ_n give_v himself_o object_n i_o do_v not_o think_v that_o the_o quaker_n alone_o be_v in_o the_o dark_a about_o this_o matter_n yet_o these_o man_n i_o count_v here_o be_v most_o of_o all_o out_o they_o look_v upon_o the_o work_v of_o christ_n redemption_n to_o be_v the_o work_n of_o christ_n within_o so_o they_o speak_v and_o so_o they_o think_v altogether_o and_o then_o wilful_o confound_v sanctification_n and_o redemption_n animad_fw-la this_o be_v a_o mistake_n we_o do_v not_o confound_v they_o yet_o must_v confess_v they_o be_v receive_v together_o as_o inseparable_a where_o christ_n be_v make_v unto_o any_o wisdom_n righteousness_n sanctification_n and_o redemption_n for_o the_o receive_a redemption_n through_o his_o blood_n even_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n can_v be_v without_o sanctification_n which_o be_v both_o gradual_o carry_v on_o and_o effect_v by_o the_o work_n of_o christ_n within_o although_o i_o do_v confess_v redemption_n be_v manifest_o or_o public_o set_v forth_o and_o declare_v by_o christ_n as_o without_o in_o his_o suffering_n death_n and_o blood_n as_o the_o introduction_n and_o preparation_n of_o the_o way_n into_o the_o new_a covenant_n he_o consecrate_v and_o set_v open_v the_o new_a and_o live_a way_n through_o the_o veil_n that_o be_v to_o say_v his_o flesh._n object_n 24._o the_o quaker_n do_v place_n christ_n redemption_n in_o bring_v we_o up_o to_o these_o term_n the_o performance_n whereof_o be_v indeed_o our_o gospel_n perfection_n but_o he_o be_v here_o so_o miserable_o out_o that_o he_o both_o mistake_v the_o term_n or_o this_o perfection_n as_o if_o it_o be_v no_o less_o than_o the_o fulfil_n of_o every_o jot_n of_o the_o law_n itself_o and_o also_o contradict_v himself_o in_o the_o best_a tenet_n he_o have_v animad_fw-la though_o we_o confess_v christ_n redemption_n to_o be_v twofold_a both_o as_o in_o he_o and_o in_o we_o respect_v his_o fulfil_v the_o law_n his_o suffering_n for_o we_o as_o also_o his_o fulfil_n the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n in_o we_o yet_o our_o accuser_n be_v herein_o either_o overâ—een_v in_o word_v his_o matter_n or_o mistake_v in_o the_o matter_n itself_o for_o 1_o st_z we_o place_v not_o christ_n redemption_n in_o bring_v we_o to_o fulfil_v every_o jot_n of_o the_o law_n itself_o for_o much_o of_o it_o be_v abolish_v as_o the_o literal_a and_o shadowy_a part_n though_o the_o substance_n thereof_o remain_v not_o to_o be_v make_v void_a through_o faith_n but_o establish_v yet_o this_o we_o have_v not_o obtain_v either_o by_o our_o own_o strength_n or_o imitation_n of_o the_o letter_n but_o through_o the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n in_o christ_n bring_v we_o up_o to_o the_o word_n of_o faith_n in_o our_o heart_n to_o obey_v it_o and_o do_v it_o so_o that_o our_o redemption_n by_o he_o be_v not_o to_o serve_v in_o the_o oldness_n of_o the_o letter_n which_o make_v nothing_o perfect_a but_o in_o the_o newness_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o perfect_o sanctify_v 2_o dly_z and_o in_o this_o we_o do_v not_o think_v ourselves_o out_o but_o in_o even_o the_o truth_n and_o within_o even_o in_o the_o spirit_n of_o life_n in_o christ_n jesus_n not_o out_o in_o the_o letter_n but_o within_o in_o the_o spirit_n not_o out_o in_o the_o righteousness_n of_o the_o law_n which_o paul_n call_v his_o own_o but_o within_o in_o the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n walk_v in_o the_o spirit_n 3_o dly_z and_o herein_o we_o be_v not_o conscious_a of_o self_n contradiction_n in_o any_o of_o our_o tenet_n much_o less_o in_o the_o best_a this_o objection_n be_v take_v off_o by_o our_o confess_v universal_a grace_n and_o redemption_n in_o christ_n towards_o all_o and_o for_o all_o mankind_n and_o yet_o this_o grace_n and_o redemption_n not_o take_v effect_n in_o all_o but_o only_o in_o they_o who_o believe_v and_o repent_v which_o man_n be_v not_o irresistable_o force_v to_o but_o general_o call_v and_o 〈◊〉_d to_o faith_n be_v also_o offer_v unto_o all_o by_o christ_n and_o the_o world_n be_v reprove_v of_o their_o sin_n of_o unbelief_n by_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n sect._n xiii_o it_o be_v true_a what_o he_o say_v viz._n our_o divine_n we_o call_v orthodox_n do_v general_o stumble_v upon_o this_o same_o stone_n in_o their_o denial_n of_o christ_n redemption_n to_o be_v universal_a that_o he_o have_v procure_v that_o all_o may_v be_v save_v if_o they_o believe_v and_o repent_v which_o be_v our_o new_a term_n unless_o he_o have_v procure_v also_o that_o they_o believe_v and_o repent_v but_o it_o be_v the_o elect_a only_o do_v believe_v and_o repent_v and_o therefore_o they_o hold_v redemption_n only_o of_o the_o elect._n animad_fw-la it_o be_v very_o true_a there_o be_v too_o many_o that_o stumble_v about_o this_o and_o deny_v christ_n universal_a redemption_n and_o the_o sufficiency_n thereof_o and_o so_o oppose_v the_o general_a extent_n of_o save_a grace_n partial_o limit_v and_o restrain_v the_o universal_a sense_n and_o intent_n of_o those_o testimony_n of_o scripture_n which_o assert_v that_o christ_n give_v himself_o a_o ransom_n for_o all_o and_o that_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n he_o taste_v death_n for_o every_o man_n etc._n etc._n these_o they_o confine_v only_o to_o the_o elect_n herein_o they_o be_v not_o orthodox_n but_o be_v stumble_v in_o the_o dark_a object_n let_v the_o quaker_n then_o know_v it_o be_v not_o christ_n bring_v man_n up_o to_o the_o term_n of_o god_n but_o his_o bring_v down_o god_n to_o the_o term_n of_o man_n that_o be_v such_o as_o be_v suitable_a to_o his_o fall_a state_n wherein_o the_o great_a work_n he_o have_v do_v for_o we_o be_v to_o be_v fix_v page_n 25._o animad_fw-la true_o the_o quaker_n do_v not_o know_v how_o to_o own_v this_o doctrine_n in_o the_o term_n of_o it_o on_o either_o hand_n as_o it_o be_v state_v for_o christ_n come_v to_o bring_v man_n up_o to_o god_n 18._o and_o those_o term_n that_o he_o have_v the_o mediator_n not_o to_o bring_v god_n down_o to_o the_o term_n of_o fallen_n man_n but_o as_o a_o mediator_n which_o be_v not_o of_o one_o but_o betwixt_o two_o both_o to_o bring_v god_n love_n and_o evidence_n his_o kindness_n to_o man_n and_o also_o to_o restore_v man_n out_o of_o his_o fallen_n estate_n into_o covenant_n and_o reconciliation_n with_o god_n so_o as_o god_n and_o his_o creature_n meet_v in_o his_o son_n christ_n jesus_n who_o be_v the_o son_n of_o his_o love_n see_v it_o be_v
