unto_o you_o that_o you_o have_v nothing_o to_o object_v why_o it_o do_v not_o belong_v particular_o to_o you_o and_o whether_o you_o have_v not_o see_v a_o readiness_n and_o willingness_n in_o christ_n to_o receive_v and_o embrace_v you_o as_o his_o belove_a spouse_n and_o whether_o you_o have_v not_o thereupon_o consent_v and_o resolve_v to_o take_v christ_n and_o to_o give_v up_o yourself_o to_o he_o and_o whether_o you_o have_v not_o since_o that_o find_v in_o your_o heart_n a_o love_n to_o christ_n and_o his_o law_n and_o a_o readiness_n and_o willingness_n to_o do_v your_o duty_n to_o god_n as_o a_o child_n to_o his_o father_n free_o without_o fear_n of_o hell_n or_o hope_v of_o heaven_n now_o tell_v i_o i_o pray_v you_o true_o whether_o you_o have_v not_o find_v these_o thing_n in_o you_o neo._n yea_o indeed_o i_o hope_v i_o have_v in_o some_o measure_n evan._n why_o then_o i_o may_v say_v with_o the_o apostle_n john_n you_o be_v of_o the_o truth_n and_o if_o he_o be_v sure_a he_o do_v the_o former_a then_o may_v he_o be_v sure_a that_o his_o outward_a qualification_n proceed_v from_o his_o inward_a and_o so_o be_v right_a and_o true_a but_o if_o he_o do_v the_o latter_a then_o may_v he_o be_v sure_a that_o they_o be_v wrong_a and_o false_a evidence_n nom._n then_o true_o sir_n i_o have_v not_o as_o yet_o any_o right_a and_o true_a evidence_n of_o faith_n evan._n if_o you_o have_v not_o then_o as_o i_o tell_v you_o it_o be_v time_n to_o believe_v that_o so_o you_o may_v have_v they_o that_o be_v right_a and_o true_a neo._n but_o sir_n i_o pray_v you_o let_v i_o ask_v you_o one_o question_n more_o touch_v this_o point_n and_o that_o be_v suppose_v that_o hereafter_o i_o shall_v see_v no_o outward_a evidence_n and_o question_n whether_o i_o have_v ever_o any_o true_a inward_a evidence_n and_o so_o whether_o i_o do_v ever_o true_o believe_v or_o no_o what_o must_v i_o do_v then_o evan._n indeed_o it_o be_v possible_a you_o may_v such_o nutriment_n as_o may_v agree_v with_o it_o tender_a condition_n and_o if_o the_o nurse_n through_o negligence_n or_o ignorance_n either_o give_v it_o no_o meat_n at_o all_o or_o else_o such_o as_o it_o be_v not_o capable_a of_o receive_v the_o child_n refuse_v it_o and_o still_o cry_v in_o strength_n of_o desire_n after_o the_o dug_n yet_o do_v not_o the_o child_n in_o this_o estate_n know_v by_o any_o intellectual_a power_n and_o understanding_n what_o itself_o desire_v even_o so_o man_n poor_a soul_n do_v cry_v to_o god_n as_o for_o its_o proper_a nourishment_n but_o his_o understanding_n like_o a_o blind_a ignorant_a nurse_n not_o know_v what_o it_o cry_v for_o do_v offer_n to_o the_o heart_n a_o creature_n instead_o of_o a_o creator_n thus_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o understanding_n together_o with_o the_o corruption_n of_o the_o will_n and_o disorder_n of_o the_o affection_n man_n soul_n be_v keep_v by_o violence_n from_o its_o proper_a centre_n even_o god_n himself_o o_o how_o many_o soul_n be_v there_o in_o the_o world_n that_o be_v hinder_v if_o not_o quite_o keep_v from_o rest_n in_o god_n by_o reason_n that_o their_o blind_a understanding_n do_v present_a unto_o their_o sensual_a appetite_n variety_n of_o sensual_a object_n be_v there_o not_o many_o a_o luxurious_a person_n soul_n hinder_v if_o not_o quite_o keep_v from_o true_a rest_n in_o god_n by_o that_o beauty_n which_o nature_n have_v place_v in_o feminine_a face_n especial_o when_o satan_n do_v secret_o suggest_v into_o such_o feminine_a heart_n a_o desire_n of_o a_o artificial_a dress_n from_o the_o head_n to_o the_o foot_n yea_o and_o sometime_o paint_v the_o face_n like_o their_o mother_n jezabel_n and_o be_v there_o not_o many_o a_o voluptuous_a epicure_n soul_n hinder_v if_o not_o quite_o keep_v from_o rest_n in_o god_n by_o behold_v the_o colour_n and_o taste_v the_o sweetness_n of_o dainty_a delicate_a dish_n his_o wine_n red_a in_o the_o cup_n and_o his_o beer_n of_o amber_n colour_n in_o the_o glass_n in_o the_o scripture_n we_o read_v of_o a_o certain_a man_n that_o fare_v delicious_o very_a day_n as_o if_o there_o have_v be_v no_o more_o but_o one_o so_o ill_o dispose_v but_o in_o our_o time_n there_o be_v certain_a hundred_o both_o of_o man_n and_o woman_n that_o do_v not_o only_o fare_v delicious_o but_o voluptuous_o twice_o every_o day_n if_o no_o more_o and_o be_v there_o not_o many_o a_o proud_a person_n soul_n hinder_v if_o not_o quite_o keep_v from_o rest_n in_o god_n by_o the_o harmonious_a sound_n of_o popular_a praise_n which_o like_o a_o loadstone_n draw_v the_o vainglorious_a heart_n to_o hunt_v so_o much_o the_o more_o eager_o to_o augment_v the_o echo_n of_o such_o vain_a windy_a reputation_n and_o be_v there_o not_o many_o a_o covetous_a person_n soul_n hinder_v if_o not_o quite_o keep_v from_o rest_n in_o god_n by_o the_o cry_n of_o great_a abundance_n the_o word_n of_o wealth_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o gain_n and_o be_v there_o not_o many_o a_o musical_a mind_n hinder_v if_o not_o quite_o keep_v from_o sweet_a comfort_n in_o god_n by_o the_o harmony_n of_o artificial_a concord_n upon_o musical_a instrument_n and_o how_o many_o perfume_a fool_n be_v there_o in_o the_o world_n who_o by_o smell_v their_o sweet_a apparel_n and_o their_o sweet_a nosegays_a be_v keep_v from_o soul_n sweetness_n in_o christ._n and_o thus_o do_v satan_n like_o a_o cunning_a fisher_n beat_v his_o hook_n with_o a_o sensual_a object_n to_o catch_v man_n with_o and_o have_v get_v it_o into_o their_o jaw_n he_o draw_v they_o up_o and_o down_o in_o their_o sensual_a contentment_n till_o he_o have_v so_o drown_v they_o therein_o that_o the_o peace_n and_o rest_n of_o their_o soul_n in_o god_n be_v almost_o forget_v and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o great_a part_n of_o man_n life_n and_o in_o many_o their_o whole_a life_n be_v spend_v in_o seek_v satisfaction_n to_o the_o sensual_a appetite_n nom._n indeed_o sir_n this_o which_o you_o have_v say_v we_o may_v see_v true_o verify_v in_o many_o man_n who_o spend_v their_o day_n about_o these_o vanity_n and_o will_v afford_v no_o time_n for_o religious_a exercise_n no_o not_o upon_o the_o lord_n day_n by_o their_o good_a will_n neo._n you_o say_v the_o truth_n and_o yet_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o withal_o that_o a_o man_n by_o the_o power_n of_o natural_a conscience_n may_v be_v force_v to_o confess_v that_o his_o hope_n of_o happiness_n be_v in_o god_n alone_o and_o not_o in_o these_o thing_n yea_o and_o to_o forsake_v profit_n and_o pleasure_n and_o all_o sensual_a object_n as_o unable_a to_o give_v his_o soul_n any_o true_a contentment_n and_o fall_v to_o the_o performance_n of_o religious_a exercise_n and_o yet_o rest_v there_o and_o never_o come_v to_o god_n for_o rest_n and_o if_o we_o consider_v it_o either_o in_o the_o rude_a multitude_n of_o sensual_a liver_n or_o in_o the_o more_o seem_o religious_a we_o shall_v perceive_v that_o the_o religious_a exercise_n of_o man_n do_v strong_o deceive_v and_o strange_o delude_v many_o man_n of_o their_o heart_n happiness_n in_o god_n for_o the_o first_o sort_n though_o they_o be_v such_o as_o make_v their_o belly_n their_o best_a god_n and_o do_v no_o sacrifice_n but_o to_o bacchus_n apollo_n or_o venus_n though_o their_o conscience_n do_v accuse_v they_o that_o these_o thing_n be_v nought_o yet_o in_o that_o they_o have_v the_o name_n of_o christian_n put_v upon_o they_o in_o their_o baptism_n and_o for_o as_o much_o as_o they_o do_v often_o repeat_v the_o lord_n prayer_n the_o apostle_n creed_n and_o the_o ten_o commandment_n and_o in_o that_o it_o may_v be_v they_o have_v late_o accustom_v themselves_o to_o go_v to_o church_n to_o hear_v divine_a service_n and_o a_o preach_v now_o and_o then_o and_o in_o that_o they_o have_v divers_a time_n receive_v the_o sacrament_n they_o will_v not_o be_v persuade_v but_o that_o god_n be_v well_o please_v with_o they_o and_o a_o man_n may_v as_o well_o persuade_v they_o that_o they_o be_v not_o man_n and_o woman_n as_o that_o they_o be_v not_o in_o a_o good_a condition_n and_o for_o the_o second_o sort_n that_o ordinary_o have_v more_o themselves_o to_o have_v all_o thing_n and_o yet_o indeed_o have_v nothing_o but_o only_o a_o bladder_n full_a or_o rather_o a_o brainfull_a of_o wind_n and_o worldly_a conception_n be_v there_o not_o some_o who_o give_v themselves_o to_o a_o more_o special_a search_n and_o seek_v out_o for_o knowledge_n in_o scripture_n learnednesse_n and_o clerk-like_a skill_n in_o this_o art_n and_o that_o language_n till_o they_o come_v to_o be_v able_a to_o repeat_v all_o the_o historical_a place_n in_o the_o bible_n yea●_n and_o all_o those_o text_n of_o scripture_n that_o they_o conceive_v do_v make_v for_o some_o private_a opinion_n of_o they_o concern_v ceremony_n church-government_n or_o other_o such_o circumstantial_a point_n of_o religion_n touch_v which_o point_n they_o be_v very_o able_a to_o reason_n and_o dispute_v and_o to_o put_v forth_o such_o curious_a question_n as_o be_v not_o easy_o answer_v be_v not_o some_o of_o these_o man_n call_v sect-maker_n and_o begetter_n or_o deviser_n of_o new_a opinion_n in_o religion_n especial_o in_o the_o matter_n of_o worship_v god_n as_o they_o use_v to_o call_v it_o wherein_o they_o find_v a_o beginning_n but_o hardly_o any_o end_n
