other_o and_o 5_o be_v also_o sensible_a of_o what_o transcendent_a concernment_n his_o eternal_a salvation_n be_v of_o which_o he_o before_o slight_v this_o rouse_v suspicion_n which_o in_o all_o our_o fear_n and_o doubt_n and_o as_o we_o be_v dark_a and_o weak_a creature_n so_o guilty_a creature_n also_o and_o this_o guilt_n like_o the_o wave_n of_o the_o sea_n or_o the_o swell_n of_o jordan_n do_v begin_v upon_o these_o terrible_a storm_n from_o god_n to_o rise_v and_o swell_v and_o overflow_v in_o our_o conscience_n as_o in_o david_n psal_n 38._o when_o god_n wrath_n be_v sore_o indeed_o there_o be_v in_o the_o best_a of_o we_o humour_n enough_o which_o if_o they_o be_v stir_v and_o congregat_v in_o our_o conscience_n may_v alone_o cast_v we_o into_o these_o burn_a fit_n of_o trouble_n and_o distress_n so_o as_o whilst_o god_n spirit_n shall_v withhold_v from_o we_o the_o light_n of_o our_o own_o grace_n &_o our_o own_o conscience_n represent_v to_o we_o the_o guilt_n and_o corruption_n that_o be_v in_o our_o best_a performance_n our_o heart_n may_v conclude_v ourselves_o hypocrite_n as_o m._n bradfar_o in_o some_o of_o his_o letter_n cloth_n of_o himself_o &_o other_o of_o the_o saint_n have_v do_v yea_o so_o as_o even_o our_o own_o conscience_n which_o be_v the_o only_a principle_n now_o leave_v in_o we_o which_o shall_v take_v part_n with_o and_o encourage_v faith_n and_o witness_v to_o we_o as_o the_o office_n of_o it_o be_v the_o goodness_n of_o our_o estate_n in_o this_o may_v join_v with_o the_o former_a corruption_n against_o we_o and_o bring_v in_o a_o false_a evidence_n and_o pronounce_v a_o false_a judgement_n even_o conscience_n itself_o which_o be_v ordain_v as_o the_o urine_n of_o the_o body_n to_o show_v the_o estate_n of_o the_o whole_a and_o therefore_o be_v according_o call_v good_a or_o evil_a as_o the_o man_n state_n be_v this_o be_v apt_a in_o such_o distemper_n to_o change_v and_o turn_v colour_n and_o look_v to_o a_o man_n own_o view_n as_o 〈◊〉_d as_o the_o state_n of_o a_o very_a hypocrite_n and_o the_o reason_n of_o this_o be_v also_o as_o evident_a reason_n the_o reason_n as_o be_v the_o experience_n of_o it_o even_o because_o conscience_n remain_v in_o part_n defile_v in_o a_o man_n that_o be_v regenerate_v and_o though_o we_o be_v sprinkle_v from_o a_o evil_a conscience_n in_o part_n yet_o not_o whole_o so_o as_o though_o our_o person_n be_v full_o discharge_v from_o the_o guilt_n of_o our_o sin_n through_o the_o sprinkle_n of_o christ_n blood_n before_o god_n yet_o the_o sprinkle_n of_o that_o blood_n upon_o our_o conscience_n whereby_o we_o apprehend_v this_o be_v imperfect_a and_o the_o reason_n be_v because_o this_o very_a sprinkle_n of_o conscience_n whereby_o it_o restify_v sincere_a and_o unfeigned_a obedience_n then_o it_o be_v see_v his_o repentance_n be_v true_a when_o he_o repent_v not_o of_o it_o then_o when_o he_o be_v out_o of_o hope_n of_o any_o reward_n for_o it_o then_o it_o be_v see_v his_o sorrow_n be_v godly_a sorrow_n when_o though_o the_o sentence_n of_o condemnation_n be_v read_v to_o he_o in_o his_o own_o apprehension_n and_o conscience_n and_o faith_n the_o most_o therefore_o 1_o pet._n 1._o 7._o you_o be_v in_o heaviness_n through_o manifold_a temptation_n that_o the_o trial_n of_o your_o faith_n be_v much_o more_o precious_a then_o of_o
