live_v in_o habitual_a and_o wilful_a disobedience_n to_o the_o holy_a precept_n and_o institution_n which_o the_o same_o gospel_n have_v prescribe_v now_o how_o can_v these_o thing_n consist_v together_o how_o can_v they_o possible_o be_v reconcile_v unless_o these_o person_n judge_v themselves_o in_o god_n favour_n though_o they_o live_v in_o such_o disobedience_n to_o he_o can_v man_n person_n the_o same_o temptation_n that_o sway_v the_o affection_n and_o vitiate_v the_o life_n of_o other_o man_n do_v also_o sway_v and_o vitiate_v they_o they_o love_v the_o wealth_n and_o power_n and_o honour_n all_o the_o pleasure_n all_o the_o advantage_n of_o the_o world_n as_o much_o as_o they_o who_o love_v they_o most_o nor_o do_v they_o forbear_v to_o use_v any_o of_o the_o same_o method_n the_o same_o forbid_a art_n and_o way_n to_o attain_v their_o end_n that_o be_v use_v by_o the_o common_a sort_n of_o person_n they_o please_v themselves_o in_o the_o speculation_n of_o useless_a notion_n or_o spend_v their_o zeal_n in_o mere_a dispute_n or_o the_o censure_n of_o the_o life_n of_o other_o but_o take_v no_o care_n to_o reform_v themselves_o yet_o all_o this_o while_o god_n have_v promise_v to_o give_v his_o spirit_n to_o they_o that_o ask_v he_o and_o that_o in_o a_o promise_n confirm_v by_o a_o argument_n draw_v from_o common_a and_o know_a experience_n for_o judgement_n in_o the_o good_a and_o perfect_a will_n of_o god_n be_v so_o much_o antecedent_n probity_n so_o much_o sincerity_n towards_o god_n as_o that_o we_o be_v willing_a to_o do_v his_o will_n when_o it_o shall_v be_v make_v know_v unto_o we_o and_o wonder_v not_o that_o this_o shall_v be_v requisite_a for_o the_o gain_n of_o stable_a judgement_n in_o it_o for_o this_o be_v no_o more_o than_o the_o very_a belief_n that_o there_o be_v a_o god_n may_v produce_v in_o every_o man_n so_o believe_v if_o a_o man_n have_v nothing_o of_o inclination_n to_o do_v god_n will_v when_o he_o when_o the_o interest_n of_o powerful_a lust_n and_o passion_n bribe_n and_o corrupt_v the_o understanding_n for_o a_o man_n to_o prevaricate_v with_o himself_o and_o baffle_v and_o cheat_v his_o own_o mind_n but_o where_o there_o

believe_v their_o sin_n forgive_v although_o they_o wilful_o still_o retain_v they_o they_o will_v believe_v that_o this_o be_v so_o in_o spite_n of_o common_a sense_n and_o reason_n in_o spite_n of_o here_o of_o thing_n most_o grievous_a to_o flesh_n and_o blood_n heap_n upon_o heap_n of_o all_o the_o several_a trouble_n and_o danger_n which_o the_o life_n of_o man_n be_v expose_v unto_o in_o the_o present_a world_n but_o what_o impression_n do_v these_o calamity_n make_v on_o he_o who_o have_v design_v eternal_a happiness_n do_v he_o leave_v the_o way_n that_o lead_v unto_o it_o in_o by_o the_o ease_n they_o find_v or_o fancy_n in_o the_o delight_n of_o the_o present_a world_n and_o so_o they_o mistake_v a_o mere_a appearance_n a_o show_n a_o shadow_n of_o felicity_n instead_o of_o the_o very_a thing_n itself_o it_o be_v a_o vanity_n which_o they_o follow_v but_o a_o vanity_n under_o a_o show_n of_o happiness_n what_o so_o vain_a as_o popular_a fame_n the_o breath_n of_o
