fullness_n of_o the_o gentile_n be_v come_v in_o and_o we_o must_v distinguish_v of_o such_o as_o be_v in_o the_o visible_a church_n for_o some_o be_v sincere_o subject_v unto_o god-redeemer_n according_a to_o their_o allegiance_n some_o be_v subject_n only_o by_o name_n and_o profession_n and_o by_o their_o ignorance_n unbelief_n disobedience_n be_v little_o better_o than_o heathen_n and_o alien_n some_o be_v subject_a in_o some_o measure_n but_o come_v short_a of_o that_o degree_n which_o be_v require_v to_o admission_n all_o these_o except_v one_o sort_n be_v out_o of_o this_o kingdom_n as_o it_o consist_v of_o real_a saint_n and_o live_a member_n of_o christ._n apostate_n shall_v never_o be_v call_v much_o less_o admit_v if_o they_o be_v personal_o and_o wilful_o such_o alone_o be_v not_o sufficient_a without_o the_o spirit_n the_o spirit_n without_o the_o word_n will_v not_o ordinary_o do_v any_o thing_n the_o word_n concern_v man_n â—in_a god_n love_n christ_n redemption_n man_n duty_n as_o it_o be_v a_o outward_a revelation_n write_v or_o speak_v can_v penetrate_v the_o heart_n of_o man_n something_o it_o may_v teach_v and_o something_o it_o may_v move_v and_o work_v upon_o a_o man_n that_o attend_v unto_o it_o and_o by_o natural_a reason_n consider_v it_o but_o this_o be_v nothing_o to_o purpose_n whether_o god_n concur_v with_o any_o measure_n of_o his_o prepare_v spirit_n with_o the_o first_o publish_n or_o make_v know_v his_o word_n by_o man_n to_o natural_a man_n be_v hard_o to_o determine_v he_o may_v do_v so_o if_o he_o please_v and_o there_o can_v be_v no_o doubt_n thereof_o yet_o if_o he_o do_v i_o think_v its_o a_o special_a if_o not_o a_o extraordinary_a gratuity_n but_o this_o be_v certain_a that_o man_n be_v bind_v to_o and_o reward_v he_o be_v to_o little_a purpose_n for_o our_o bless_a saviour_n be_v not_o to_o be_v understand_v of_o that_o power_n which_o man_n have_v by_o nature_n but_o of_o some_o stock_n or_o talon_n of_o grace_n which_o he_o his_o lord_n and_o master_n have_v give_v he_o and_o suppose_v it_o be_v true_a that_o to_o he_o that_o do_v quoth_v in_o se_fw-la est_fw-la what_o he_o can_v do_v more_o shall_v be_v give_v he_o yet_o 1._o no_o man_n do_v what_o he_o can_v do_v by_o nature_n 2._o nor_o can_v do_v any_o thing_n in_o spiritual_n without_o grace_n 3._o though_o he_o shall_v ever_o answer_v man_n in_o this_o kind_n where_o do_v we_o find_v that_o he_o have_v bind_v himself_o by_o promise_n so_o to_o do_v man_n may_v talk_v at_o random_n this_o and_o that_o yet_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n be_v such_o a_o doctrine_n as_o neither_o jew_n nor_o gentile_n can_v by_o nature_n digest_v it_o be_v to_o the_o one_o a_o stumble_v block_n and_o to_o the_o other_o foolishness_n though_o some_o of_o they_o may_v be_v of_o exquisite_a and_o high_o improve_v natural_a part_n this_o doctrine_n be_v god_n wisdom_n in_o a_o mystery_n and_o so_o hide_v that_o it_o pose_v the_o great_a wit_n and_o profound_a learning_n of_o the_o world_n and_o if_o paul_n himself_o have_v not_o preach_v it_o in_o demonstration_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o power_n it_o have_v take_v little_a effect_n it_o be_v far_o above_o nature_n god_n must_v give_v man_n so_o much_o of_o his_o spirit_n as_o he_o may_v see_v the_o want_n of_o the_o spirit_n before_o he_o can_v pray_v for_o the_o spirit_n so_o as_o to_o obtain_v it_o for_o conversion_n and_o consolation_n the_o first_o duty_n that_o man_n be_v instruct_v by_o the_o word_n can_v perform_v §_o iv_o be_v hear_v the_o word_n yet_o there_o be_v many_o kind_n of_o hear_v and_o many_o degree_n thereof_o neither_o be_v any_o kind_n of_o hear_v such_o as_o upon_o which_o faith_n do_v follow_v for_o when_o the_o apostle_n say_v that_o faith_n be_v by_o hear_v he_o intend_v some_o special_a hear_n which_o require_v a_o due_a preparation_n of_o the_o heart_n antecedent_n for_o when_o a_o regenerate_a person_n hear_v the_o notwithstanding_o the_o word_n may_v be_v hear_v many_o and_o several_a way_n yet_o these_o thing_n be_v certain_a 1._o that_o a_o man_n be_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n according_a to_o the_o best_a power_n natural_a god_n have_v give_v he_o and_o to_o proceed_v so_o far_o as_o a_o natural_a moral_a heathen_a may_v do_v 2._o whether_o there_o be_v any_o promise_n of_o further_a grace_n to_o be_v give_v upon_o this_o performance_n or_o no_o yet_o if_o he_o neglect_v to_o do_v what_o he_o can_v in_o this_o particular_a its_o just_a with_o god_n to_o deny_v any_o further_a grace_n then_o that_o which_o have_v be_v grant_v the_o teach_n of_o the_o word_n 3._o that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n ought_v to_o be_v hear_v as_o the_o word_n of_o god_n 4._o that_o it_o be_v never_o hear_v as_o the_o word_n of_o god_n so_o as_o to_o assent_v to_o the_o truth_n and_o consent_n to_o the_o practice_n of_o it_o effectual_o without_o the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n go_v along_o with_o it_o and_o carry_v it_o close_o to_o the_o heart_n 5._o one_o effect_n if_o not_o the_o first_o which_o by_o the_o word_n god_n work_v upon_o the_o heart_n of_o he_o that_o use_v the_o mean_n of_o conversion_n aright_o be_v to_o make_v the_o heart_n sensible_a for_o by_o nature_n it_o be_v senseless_a stupid_a stony_a and_o this_o be_v one_o promise_n of_o god_n to_o put_v a_o new_a spirit_n
