these_o word_n be_v to_o be_v understand_v with_o reference_n what_o shall_v we_o say_v therefore_o in_o the_o 13_o verse_n where_o the_o apostle_n bring_v in_o god_n speak_v from_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o prophet_n i_o have_v love_v jacob_n and_o hate_v esau_n and_o they_o be_v thus_o to_o be_v conceive_v what_o shall_v we_o say_v therefore_o see_v what_o conclusion_n we_o shall_v infer_v of_o it_o how_o by_o his_o true_a inward_a and_o effectual_a call_n he_o know_v it_o and_o be_v assure_v of_o it_o that_o he_o be_v a_o vessel_n of_o mercy_n and_o that_o he_o be_v in_o the_o number_n of_o god_n choose_v and_o shall_v one_o day_n come_v to_o eternal_a salvation_n in_o heaven_n admit_v this_o and_o grant_v it_o to_o be_v true_a which_o the_o enemy_n of_o god_n truth_n do_v contend_v about_o that_o he_o have_v a_o special_a and_o divine_a revelation_n from_o heaven_n which_o declare_v to_o he_o that_o he_o be_v a_o choose_a vessel_n yet_o he_o know_v it_o not_o by_o special_a revelation_n only_o but_o also_o by_o his_o effectual_a call_n here_o affirm_v this_o text_n be_v clear_a but_o he_o know_v it_o also_o by_o his_o effectual_a call_n and_o his_o effectual_a calling_n be_v a_o evidence_n that_o heaven_n be_v prepare_v for_o he_o and_o he_o prepare_v for_o heaven_n so_o that_o this_o be_v clear_a unless_o they_o will_v deny_v the_o evidence_n of_o the_o text_n and_o as_o this_o bless_a apostle_n be_v assure_v of_o his_o own_o salvation_n by_o his_o effectual_a call_n so_o doubtless_o they_o that_o be_v true_a christian_n that_o be_v effectual_o call_v they_o come_v to_o have_v a_o particular_a assurance_n of_o their_o own_o salvation_n that_o they_o be_v in_o the_o number_n of_o god_n choose_v for_o the_o apostle_n if_o you_o mark_v it_o do_v join_v other_o with_o himself_o he_o do_v not_o only_o say_v i_o but_o you_o also_o speak_v in_o the_o judgement_n of_o charity_n therefore_o we_o be_v to_o abhor_v and_o detest_v that_o same_o damnable_a doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n who_o teach_v that_o a_o particular_a persuasion_n of_o a_o man_n own_o salvation_n be_v presumption_n it_o be_v a_o illusion_n and_o deceit_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o say_v they_o you_o mock_v the_o people_n and_o be_v blind_a leader_n but_o this_o be_v a_o damnable_a doctrine_n of_o they_o for_o belove_a take_v away_o all_o assurance_n of_o a_o man_n salvation_n and_o you_o leave_v a_o christian_a in_o a_o miserable_a case_n we_o strip_v he_o of_o all_o ground_n of_o joy_n and_o true_a comfort_n and_o rejoice_v yea_o we_o take_v from_o he_o all_o ground_n of_o hearty_a thankfulness_n and_o encouragement_n of_o go_v on_o in_o a_o good_a course_n of_o life_n for_o how_o can_v a_o man_n true_o and_o sound_o rejoice_v in_o the_o apprehension_n of_o the_o joy_n of_o heaven_n when_o he_o be_v uncertain_a altogether_o whether_o he_o shall_v enjoy_v they_o yea_o or_o no_o how_o can_v a_o man_n be_v thankful_a for_o that_o thing_n that_o he_o be_v altogether_o uncertain_a whether_o he_o shall_v enjoy_v it_o yea_o or_o no_o and_o how_o can_v a_o man_n go_v on_o constant_o in_o a_o holy_a and_o good_a course_n of_o life_n when_o he_o can_v tell_v whether_o it_o will_v bring_v he_o to_o heaven_n or_o to_o hell_n yea_o or_o no_o as_o the_o papist_n doctrine_n do_v say_v oh_o it_o be_v a_o most_o uncomfortable_a position_n a_o position_n of_o desperation_n that_o those_o enemy_n of_o god_n grace_n do_v hold_v and_o teach_v that_o a_o special_a persuasion_n of_o god_n mercy_n and_o of_o a_o man_n salvation_n it_o be_v presumption_n and_o a_o false_a illusion_n of_o the_o devil_n for_o this_o be_v a_o position_n direct_o contrary_a to_o the_o evidence_n of_o this_o text._n again_o we_o see_v that_o the_o apostle_n have_v speak_v of_o god_n vessel_n of_o mercy_n that_o they_o be_v such_o as_o be_v prepare_v unto_o glory_n he_o do_v adjoyn_v a_o particular_a instance_n who_o they_o be_v that_o be_v prepare_v unto_o glory_n even_o such_o as_o be_v call_v of_o god_n i_o and_o you_o that_o be_v effectual_o call_v hence_o arise_v this_o conclusion_n viz._n doctrine_n that_o god_n effectual_a call_n be_v unto_o man_n a_o sure_a and_o certain_a evidence_n of_o their_o election_n such_o as_o be_v effectual_o call_v among_o man_n and_o powerful_o wrought_v upon_o by_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o word_n and_o bring_v from_o their_o ignorance_n and_o unbelief_n and_o set_v out_o of_o the_o estate_n of_o nature_n into_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n they_o have_v hereby_o a_o infallible_a evidence_n that_o they_o be_v such_o as_o shall_v be_v save_v eternal_o and_o this_o truth_n we_o find_v make_v good_a unto_o we_o in_o many_o place_n of_o scripture_n in_o roman_n 8.30_o who_o he_o predestinate_v they_o also_o he_o faith_n and_o effectual_a call_v they_o be_v make_v know_v to_o be_v such_o as_o be_v appoint_v to_o life_n and_o glory_n in_o heaven_n in_o john_n 10.16_o say_v christ_n other_o sheep_n i_o have_v that_o be_v not_o of_o this_o fold_n they_o also_o must_v be_v call_v and_o they_o shall_v answer_v my_o call_n and_o voice_n and_o be_v effectual_o to_o their_o call_v and_o shall_v know_v of_o and_o a_o thing_n indeed_o wherein_o many_o do_v err_v and_o go_v astray_o in_o this_o one_o point_n as_o those_o be_v strong_o delude_v by_o the_o devil_n who_o think_v as_o many_o do_v that_o if_o man_n do_v live_v a_o civil_a and_o orderly_a life_n whatsoever_o they_o be_v though_o they_o be_v papist_n familist_n anabaptist_n or_o whatsoever_o yet_o if_o they_o lead_v a_o civil_a and_o
