fear_n and_o not_o be_v too_o presumptuous_a resolution_n be_v certain_o one_o of_o the_o best_a mean_n in_o the_o world_n to_o withstand_v temptation_n to_o sin_n for_o it_o have_v these_o advantage_n 1._o it_o keep_v the_o mind_n steady_a and_o fix_v and_o therefore_o prepare_v to_o resist_v a_o temptation_n when_o it_o come_v whereas_o a_o irresolved_a mind_n leave_v a_o man_n open_a to_o the_o first_o assault_n it_o be_v like_o dispute_v in_o a_o garrison_n who_o shall_v command_v when_o the_o enemy_n be_v at_o the_o gate_n a_o fix_v and_o settle_a mind_n in_o religion_n be_v two_o sort_n of_o resolution_n 1._o some_o that_o be_v sudden_a and_o make_v in_o a_o heat_n and_o passion_n without_o due_a consideration_n and_o weigh_v of_o thing_n and_o such_o as_o these_o be_v of_o no_o great_a force_n or_o continuance_n and_o it_o be_v often_o see_v that_o the_o same_o heat_n which_o cause_v the_o resolution_n to_o be_v make_v prove_v the_o occasion_n of_o break_v it_o when_o it_o be_v carry_v another_o way_n the_o inconstancy_n of_o their_o temper_n make_v they_o resolve_v hope_v thereby_o to_o bind_v up_o themselves_o the_o fast_o but_o nature_n and_o temptation_n soon_o grow_v too_o hard_o for_o such_o resolution_n which_o be_v make_v only_o by_o a_o sudden_a passion_n 2._o there_o be_v other_o which_o be_v make_v about_o matter_n of_o plain_a duty_n and_o against_o know_a temptation_n to_o sin_n after_o a_o due_a sense_n of_o our_o own_o folly_n and_o weakness_n and_o a_o firm_a purpose_n never_o more_o to_o return_v to_o the_o practice_n of_o sin_n faith_n and_o only_o such_o a_o one_o will_v carry_v we_o to_o heaven_n when_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a for_o we_o to_o have_v the_o utmost_a infallibility_n in_o the_o act_n of_o believe_v yet_o
