affect_v with_o that_o which_o we_o do_v not_o believe_v or_o be_v persuade_v to_o part_v with_o those_o lust_n that_o be_v so_o dear_a to_o we_o upon_o proposal_n that_o we_o give_v no_o credit_n to_o and_o of_o who_o truth_n or_o falsehood_n we_o never_o trouble_v ourselves_o to_o inquire_v let_v we_o therefore_o but_o satisfy_v our_o own_o reason_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o our_o religion_n by_o consider_v impartial_o those_o mighty_a evidence_n it_o be_v found_v upon_o and_o than_o it_o will_v soon_o captivate_v our_o soul_n into_o the_o love_n and_o obedience_n of_o it_o and_o none_o of_o our_o lust_n will_v be_v able_a to_o withstand_v its_o mighty_a force_n and_o efficacy_n but_o will_v all_o be_v force_v to_o fall_v down_o before_o it_o as_o dagon_n do_v before_o the_o ark_n of_o the_o lord_n this_o therefore_o be_v the_o first_o instrument_n of_o mortification_n viz._n a_o hearty_a belief_n of_o the_o christian_a religion_n ii_o another_o instrument_n of_o cease_v to_o be_v as_o to_o be_v faithful_a and_o therefore_o if_o after_o so_o much_o need_n and_o encouragement_n we_o do_v neglect_v our_o prayer_n and_o turn_v our_o back_n upon_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n it_o be_v a_o plain_a argument_n that_o either_o we_o be_v wretched_o insensible_a of_o our_o need_n of_o god_n grace_n or_o causeless_o suspicious_a of_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o time_n into_o the_o world_n without_o god_n to_o hazard_v our_o immortal_a soul_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o such_o a_o numberless_a battle_n of_o temptation_n without_o arm_v ourselves_o by_o prayer_n with_o the_o divine_a grace_n and_o assistance_n wherefore_o since_o we_o have_v so_o much_o need_n and_o if_o we_o seek_v it_o so_o much_o assurance_n too_o of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n let_v we_o have_v promise_v by_o his_o grace_n to_o cooperate_v with_o we_o to_o join_v in_o with_o our_o faculty_n and_o bless_v our_o virtuous_a essay_n but_o he_o be_v by_o no_o mean_n oblige_v to_o work_v ordinary_a mean_n and_o ministry_n of_o salvation_n we_o can_v ponder_v and_o consider_v the_o great_a motive_n of_o our_o religion_n and_o abstain_v at_o least_o from_o the_o outward_a act_n of_o can_v do_v all_o ourselves_o yet_o since_o we_o can_v do_v so_o much_o as_o will_v certain_o oblige_v god_n to_o empower_v we_o to_o do_v the_o rest_n it_o be_v already_o in_o our_o power_n to_o do_v all_o if_o we_o will_n he_o that_o be_v strong_a enough_o to_o carry_v a_o burden_n of_o a_o hundred_o weight_n but_o be_v require_v to_o carry_v two_o may_v carry_v both_o suppose_v that_o by_o
