more_o and_o more_o to_o the_o perfect_a day_n or_o as_o the_o morning_n light_n as_o some_o read_v it_o that_o you_o know_v grow_v from_o one_o degree_n to_o another_o until_o the_o perfect_a day_n further_o confirm_v it_o and_o apply_v it_o and_o the_o open_n of_o it_o i_o shall_v deliver_v in_o several_a proposition_n as_o distinct_o as_o i_o can_v for_o the_o right_a understanding_n of_o
christ_n when_o we_o walk_v not_o after_o the_o flesh_n but_o after_o the_o spirit_n for_o a_o man_n to_o pretend_v to_o have_v no_o condemnation_n upon_o he_o and_o yet_o walk_v after_o the_o flesh_n loose_o and_o vain_o wicked_o 13._o and_o yet_o never_o doubt_v nor_o question_v his_o condition_n i_o say_v that_o man_n be_v in_o a_o desperate_a security_n a_o lethargy_n it_o be_v very_o great_a odds_o but_o he_o perish_v in_o it_o the_o apostle_n say_v such_o shall_v die_v and_o they_o say_v they_o shall_v live_v but_o they_o will_v one_o day_n know_v whether_o god_n word_n or_o they_o shall_v stand_v well_o then_o this_o much_o further_v their_o comfort_n and_o this_o be_v one_o of_o the_o lord_n great_a design_n for_o our_o good_a that_o we_o shall_v walk_v comfortable_o and_o therefore_o he_o bring_v oâ—_n that_o his_o work_n that_o spark_n in_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o green_a wood_n that_o smother_v and_o smoke_n and_o put_v out_o our_o eye_n almost_o with_o weep_v at_o it_o he_o blow_v it_o up_o by_o his_o spirit_n more_o and_o more_o and_o bring_v judgement_n to_o victory_n victory_n over_o our_o corruption_n through_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o so_o victory_n over_o our_o doubt_n fear_n and_o discomfort_n o_o what_o riches_n of_o grace_n be_v 20._o here_o but_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o argument_n of_o the_o point_n for_o the_o application_n then_o first_o this_o will_v speak_v the_o sad_a condition_n of_o two_o sort_n of_o person_n and_o those_o be_v first_o such_o as_o make_v a_o profession_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o yet_o grow_v not_o be_v at_o a_o stand_n we_o do_v innovere_fw-la but_o not_o promovere_fw-la like_o a_o horse_n in_o a_o mill_n go_v round_o and_o be_v at_o night_n where_o they_o be_v in_o the_o morning_n they_o never_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o 7._o there_o be_v silly_a man_n among_o we_o that_o be_v always_o learning_n and_o yet_o be_v not_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n some_o indeed_o i_o pity_v much_o there_o be_v a_o natural_a defect_n in_o their_o understanding_n by_o mediation_n whereof_o all_o this_o growth_n be_v perfect_v and_o it_o be_v so_o great_a in_o some_o that_o they_o will_v hardly_o ever_o be_v able_a to_o apprehend_v much_o of_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n in_o a_o mystery_n it_o be_v well_o if_o they_o understand_v the_o main_a thing_n without_o which_o there_o be_v no_o life_n but_o these_o be_v not_o the_o person_n i_o speak_v of_o but_o such_o among_o we_o have_v wit_n and_o part_n enough_o can_v understand_v and_o manage_v and_o improve_v any_o thing_n else_o they_o take_v in_o hand_n and_o yet_o in_o the_o matter_n of_o their_o soul_n they_o take_v up_o their_o rest_n like_o tire_a jade_n that_o will_v go_v no_o further_o the_o apostle_n reprove_v the_o hebrew_n for_o it_o sharp_o that_o when_o for_o the_o time_n they_o may_v have_v be_v teacher_n of_o other_o yet_o we_o have_v need_v 12._o to_o be_v teach_v ourselves_o the_o first_o principle_n of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o christianity_n true_o brethren_n i_o think_v you_o that_o have_v long_o know_v jesus_n christ_n and_o have_v gray_a hair_n upon_o your_o head_n and_o be_v find_v in_o the_o way_n of_o righteousness_n when_o you_o see_v young_a stripling_n outgrow_a you_o and_o apprehend_v much_o of_o the_o mystery_n of_o christ_n which_o you_o do_v not_o this_o shall_v be_v a_o shame_n to_o you_o it_o be_v a_o 31._o strange_a sottishness_n and_o security_n that_o seize_v upon_o man_n in_o respect_n of_o their_o soul_n they_o will_v think_v shame_n that_o a_o young_a man_n of_o little_a or_o no_o experience_n shall_v know_v they_o to_o manage_v their_o trade_n better_o than_o themselves_o that_o be_v of_o so_o long_o stand_v and_o experience_n but_o here_o they_o be_v content_a to_o be_v outstrip_v and_o content_v themselves_o with_o any_o thing_n that_o your_o grace_n shall_v be_v so_o small_a as_o i_o may_v say_v in_o the_o seed_n still_o so_o small_a as_o a_o seed_n and_o scarce_o discernible_a to_o this_o day_n o_o what_o a_o sad_a thing_n be_v this_o now_o your_o salvation_n be_v near_a than_o when_o you_o believe_v and_o you_o be_v as_o far_o from_o be_v meet_a for_o it_o as_o when_o you_o believe_v o_o how_o unfit_a be_v we_o for_o death_n though_o we_o have_v one_o foot_n in_o the_o grave_n already_o some_o of_o we_o and_o we_o do_v not_o heed_v this_o sure_o if_o this_o be_v a_o truth_n that_o those_o who_o be_v plant_v in_o christ_n do_v grow_v and_o thou_o can_v not_o find_v thou_o grow_v never_o matter_n whether_o they_o improve_v or_o no._n or_o else_o second_o which_o be_v bad_a enough_o that_o thou_o have_v some_o sad_a disease_n upon_o thou_o that_o hinder_v thy_o growth_n sure_o somewhat_o be_v the_o matter_n brethren_n it_o be_v not_o right_a with_o you_o if_o you_o have_v a_o child_n stand_v at_o a_o stay_n for_o two_o or_o three-year_n while_o it_o shall_v grow_v you_o see_v it_o be_v a_o live_a child_n but_o it_o grow_v not_o o_o sure_o it_o have_v some_o disease_n or_o another_o some_o obstruction_n hinder_v the_o course_n between_o the_o head_n and_o heart_n and_o the_o member_n and_o you_o fear_v such_o a_o child_n will_v not_o live_v o_o that_o you_o will_v but_o apply_v this_o to_o your_o soul_n sure_o you_o have_v some_o desperate_a disease_n upon_o you_o some_o obstruction_n or_o another_o it_o may_v be_v the_o world_n be_v get_v between_o you_o and_o the_o root_n and_o the_o head_n which_o be_v christ_n and_o so_o the_o communication_n be_v hinder_v you_o grow_v not_o up_o into_o he_o draw_v nothing_o near_o to_o he_o at_o all_o do_v it_o never_o enter_v into_o your_o heart_n to_o consider_v this_o brethren_n be_v you_o not_o afraid_a of_o perish_v in_o such_o a_o condition_n i_o be_o sure_a your_o condition_n be_v sad_a that_o a_o grow_a sensible_a christian_n will_v not_o be_v in_o your_o case_n for_o a_o world_n and_o be_v you_o not_o sensible_a of_o it_o it_o be_v so_o much_o the_o worse_o o_o how_o will_v you_o answer_v it_o brethren_n consider_v how_o much_o influence_n you_o have_v have_v from_o on_o high_a the_o ordinance_n the_o fat_a thing_n of_o his_o house_n in_o abundance_n the_o sincere_a milk_n of_o the_o word_n you_o have_v have_v in_o this_o place_n for_o a_o long_a time_n more_o than_o most_o place_n have_v have_v it_o and_o yet_o your_o soul_n have_v prosper_v no_o more_o under_o it_o you_o have_v have_v five_o talent_n and_o yet_o it_o may_v be_v many_o that_o have_v have_v but_o two_o but_o one_o have_v outstrip_v some_o of_o you_o where_o you_o have_v have_v five_o sermon_n five_o opportunity_n of_o grace_n many_o a_o poor_a soul_n will_v have_v be_v glad_a of_o one_o and_o yet_o faith_n nothing_o lay_v the_o soul_n low_o and_o indeed_o this_o be_v the_o prosper_a grace_n of_o the_o soul_n that_o soul_n that_o be_v lift_v up_o as_o the_o prophet_n say_v be_v not_o right_a within_o he_o learn_v of_o i_o say_v our_o 29._o saviour_n for_o i_o be_o meek_a and_o lowly_a o_o when_o the_o soul_n be_v thus_o low_a than_o it_o be_v hungry_a and_o thirsty_a and_o poor_a in_o spirit_n and_o than_o it_o suck_v from_o the_o lord_n jesus_n than_o a_o taste_n of_o his_o love_n be_v sweet_a to_o the_o soul_n than_o the_o spirit_n be_v ready_a to_o yield_v to_o god_n in_o every_o thing_n to_o do_v all_o his_o will_n god_n be_v ready_a to_o yield_v to_o the_o soul_n in_o every_o thing_n that_o he_o require_v agreeable_a to_o his_o will_n how_o do_v we_o grow_v in_o humility_n brethren_n examine_v this_o it_o be_v the_o first_o and_o second_o and_o three_o and_o every_o step_n of_o jacob_n ladder_n do_v thou_o find_v that_o whereas_o thou_o be_v wont_n to_o overlook_a and_o undervalue_v in_o comparison_n of_o thyself_o now_o rather_o thou_o think_v in_o good_a earnest_n that_o every_o one_o fear_v god_n be_v better_a than_o thyself_o because_o of_o the_o now_o if_o thou_o be_v reprove_v thou_o have_v nothing_o to_o say_v but_o fear_v thy_o heart_n it_o may_v be_v too_o true_a of_o thou_o now_o it_o be_v welcome_a thou_o love_v they_o that_o reprove_v thou_o so_o much_o the_o more_o brethren_n it_o may_v be_v heretofore_o you_o will_v be_v apt_a to_o complain_v of_o yourselves_o and_o of_o your_o own_o vileness_n and_o make_v sad_a moan_n and_o yet_o if_o another_o speak_v but_o a_o ill_a word_n of_o you_o yea_o if_o they_o speak_v no_o more_o of_o you_o than_o you_o deserve_v you_o can_v not_o bear_v it_o now_o if_o they_o speak_v ill_o this_o pitch_n or_o how_o far_o be_v we_o go_v herein_o be_v it_o better_o with_o we_o than_o it_o have_v be_v in_o this_o respect_n but_o than_o second_o we_o must_v try_v whether_o we_o grow_v and_o down_o with_o every_o wind_n of_o doctrine_n and_o be_v not-stablished_n in_o the_o present_a truth_n but_o your_o mind_n be_v float_v and_o hover_v and_o ready_a to_o settle_v upon_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v present_v to_o you_o though_o contrary_a to_o what_o you_o have_v receive_v it_o be_v a_o sign_n that_o you_o be_v but_o child_n in_o understanding_n how_o easy_a be_v it_o to_o deceive_v child_n to_o put_v upon_o they_o counter_n instead_o of_o gold_n to_o make_v they_o part_v with_o the_o one_o for_o the_o other_o and_o how_o easy_a be_v it_o to_o lead_v captive_a silly-woman_n as_o the_o apostle_n 6._o call_v they_o that_o be_v ever_o learning_n and_o never_o able_a to_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n a_o weak_a eye_n that_o can_v discern_v between_o 14._o thing_n that_o differ_v have_v not_o his_o sense_n exercise_v to_o discern_v it_o be_v very_o easy_a to_o put_v one_o thing_n upon_o they_o for_o another_o true_o brethren_n these_o time_n have_v the_o name_n for_o time_n of_o great_a light_n and_o great_a knowledge_n than_o there_o be_v before_o and_o i_o do_v believe_v that_o knowledge_n shall_v increase_v by_o go_v too_o and_o not_o this_o unreasonable_a again_o if_o we_o look_v upon_o the_o lord_n jesus_n who_o seek_v to_o we_o beseech_v we_o to_o accept_v of_o he_o of_o mercy_n of_o pardon_n in_o his_o blood_n the_o creator_n come_v down_o to_o the_o creature_n poor_a worm_n who_o have_v our_o be_v by_o his_o word_n and_o may_v be_v dissolve_v with_o his_o word_n and_o yet_o we_o stand_v it_o out_o and_o will_v not_o accept_v of_o he_o who_o will_v bestow_v himself_o and_o his_o infinite_a all-sufficiency_n upon_o we_o and_o we_o will_v not_o be_v not_o this_o unreasonable_a that_o a_o prince_n shall_v seek_v to_o a_o worthless_a rebel_n to_o be_v reconcile_v and_o he_o will_v not_o hear_v of_o it_o if_o he_o have_v any_o need_n of_o we_o and_o upon_o that_o account_n will_v have_v poor_a sinner_n unreasonable_a thing_n o_o how_o may_v we_o here_o break_v out_o and_o say_v hear_v you_o heaven_n and_o give_v ear_n o_o earth_n for_o the_o lord_n jesus_n the_o lord_n of_o both_o heir_n of_o all_o injuriousness_n of_o this_o sin_n of_o unbelief_n how_o injurious_a it_o be_v to_o jesus_n christ_n brethren_n for_o if_o the_o truth_n be_v know_v what_o be_v the_o reason_n wherefore_o we_o need_v so_o much_o ado_n why_o we_o come_v not_o in_o to_o he_o we_o either_o think_v he_o can_v save_v we_o our_o sin_n be_v so_o great_a o_o say_v one_o there_o be_v never_o such_o a_o wretch_n as_o i_o every_o entreaty_n to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o he_o brethren_n what_o can_v the_o lord_n jesus_n do_v more_o for_o we_o than_o he_o do_v be_v not_o his_o life_n dear_a to_o he_o even_o to_o the_o death_n sor_n poor_a sinner_n that_o there_o may_v be_v a_o pardon_n for_o we_o and_o do_v we_o thus_o requite_v he_o even_o to_o slight_v it_o never_o to_o mind_v it_o or_o if_o we_o do_v sometime_o
