ground_n of_o our_o heart_n and_o love_n seek_v not_o all_o her_o own_o but_o oftentimes_o frank_o and_o free_o give_v of_o her_o right_a unto_o god_n herein_o also_o we_o may_v discern_v that_o this_o be_v a_o special_a work_n we_o may_v see_v of_o god_n grace_n for_o our_o nature_n be_v whole_o give_v to_o attend_v upon_o herself_o little_o regard_v so_o matter_n go_v well_o there_o how_o it_o fare_v with_o other_o abroad_o love_n in_o like_a manner_n be_v know_v thus_o that_o it_o be_v not_o provoke_v unto_o anger_n it_o be_v not_o easy_o incense_v though_o wrong_v be_v offer_v unto_o it_o for_o the_o heart_n be_v so_o knit_v by_o love_n that_o it_o can_v well_o bear_v many_o wrong_n this_o note_n whereby_o love_n be_v discern_v differ_v not_o much_o from_o that_o property_n which_o be_v speak_v of_o in_o the_o first_o place_n save_v that_o to_o speak_v proper_o that_o be_v a_o meekness_n join_v with_o do_n &_o this_o with_o suffer_v this_o hardness_n to_o be_v provoke_v thing_n for_o it_o as_o a_o cause_n that_o move_v the_o doer_n thereunto_o and_o so_o remove_v it_o from_o he_o therefore_o it_o can_v be_v incense_v therewith_o or_o provoke_v unto_o anger_n parent_n put_v over_o the_o whole_a blame_n thereof_o to_o some_o one_o thing_n or_o other_o as_o that_o their_o frowardness_n come_v for_o lack_v of_o sleep_n or_o want_v of_o meat_n etc_n etc_n for_o love_n can_v rifle_n into_o the_o evil_a to_o be_v muse_v and_o think_v much_o upon_o it_o diligent_o examine_v the_o wickedness_n how_o great_a it_o be_v that_o do_v appear_v in_o it_o love_n can_v stand_v upon_o it_o to_o gather_v together_o the_o conjecture_n that_o may_v be_v have_v of_o great_a evil_a to_o be_v in_o it_o hereby_o it_o appear_v that_o love_n be_v far_o from_o suspicion_n of_o evil_a where_o there_o be_v no_o apparent_a token_n thereof_o see_v it_o pass_v with_o such_o speed_n and_o turn_v the_o thought_n so_o soon_o from_o muse_v upon_o and_o examine_v see_v and_o know_v evil_n in_o those_o who_o it_o love_v it_o be_v also_o incident_a unto_o love_n as_o a_o true_a mark_n to_o discern_v it_o by_o not_o to_o rejoice_v in_o iniquity_n but_o to_o rejoice_v in_o the_o truth_n so_o do_v the_o holy_a ghost_n report_n of_o it_o in_o this_o place_n the_o truth_n wherein_o he_o that_o love_v be_v say_v to_o rejoice_v signify_v true_a and_o sincere_a deal_n according_a to_o the_o usual_a speech_n of_o the_o scripture_n which_o may_v also_o be_v understand_v in_o that_o it_o be_v set_v here_o against_o iniquity_n or_o unrighteousness_n as_o be_v contrary_a thereunto_o this_o property_n of_o not_o rejoice_v in_o iniquity_n be_v very_o fit_o join_v unto_o the_o former_a for_o in_o that_o it_o be_v say_v not_o to_o think_v evil_a but_o friendly_a not_o to_o impute_v it_o it_o may_v be_v think_v that_o love_n have_v a_o delight_n in_o the_o evil_a deal_n of_o he_o who_o she_o love_v therefore_o be_v this_o add_v that_o it_o rejoice_v not_o in_o his_o evil_a deal_n &_o unrighteousness_n for_o these_o may_v well_o stand_v together_o not_o to_o search_v into_o evil_a thing_n to_o withdraw_v his_o affection_n from_o the_o offender_n therein_o and_o yet_o for_o reproach_n which_o he_o will_v be_v loath_a shall_v happen_v unto_o he_o who_o he_o so_o tender_o love_v the_o most_o wicked_a man_n that_o live_v will_v be_v loath_a that_o the_o man_n who_o he_o love_v shall_v do_v any_o thing_n which_o in_o his_o judgement_n can_v not_o but_o bring_v harm_n or_o hurt_v unto_o he_o and_o when_o any_o such_o thing_n escape_v he_o he_o be_v grieve_v and_o vex_v by_o he_o who_o he_o love_v to_o this_o it_o may_v be_v answer_v that_o he_o according_a to_o the_o blindness_n and_o hardness_n of_o his_o heart_n think_v not_o that_o his_o such_o deal_n will_v any_o way_n turn_v to_o his_o hurt_n or_o discredit_v but_o think_v rather_o that_o it_o will_v work_v his_o credit_n among_o those_o man_n that_o he_o use_v to_o make_v account_n of_o as_o for_o fear_n of_o punishment_n from_o god_o against_o he_o that_o be_v far_o out_o of_o sight_n hereupon_o it_o be_v plain_a that_o perfect_a love_n be_v not_o to_o be_v find_v but_o among_o the_o godly_a for_o all_o other_o through_o blindness_n and_o hardness_n of_o heart_n rejoice_v at_o many_o thing_n do_v by_o those_o who_o they_o love_v which_o be_v not_o sincere_a and_o righteous_a and_o condemn_v that_o damnable_a sect_n which_o term_v itself_o the_o family_n of_o love_n who_o uphold_v their_o love_n like_a unto_o the_o papist_n be_v clean_o go_v from_o the_o truth_n and_o righteousness_n of_o god_n approve_v by_o his_o word_n unto_o a_o righteousness_n approve_v by_o the_o revelation_n of_o their_o own_o spirit_n make_v the_o word_n of_o god_o the_o playnesong_n which_o their_o spirit_n may_v descant_v upon_o as_o seem_v good_a unto_o itself_o but_o always_o so_o that_o there_o be_v no_o melody_n but_o from_o their_o own_o mouth_n for_o they_o will_v have_v the_o word_n to_o have_v no_o soundness_n nor_o certainty_n in_o itself_o hereby_o be_v all_o the_o friendship_n of_o the_o wicked_a condemn_v who_o will_v have_v no_o long_a like_n of_o any_o but_o such_o as_o will_v joy_v with_o they_o in_o their_o wickedness_n for_o they_o will_v not_o hold_v friendship_n with_o they_o that_o will_v not_o lend_v they_o the_o credit_n of_o their_o countenance_n and_o if_o need_v be_v of_o their_o oath_n also_o to_o help_v out_o evil_a cause_n withal_o here_o also_o be_v all_o these_o detect_v of_o want_n of_o love_n who_o publish_v abroad_o the_o infirmity_n of_o their_o brethren_n to_o those_o to_o who_o in_o no_o consideration_n it_o be_v behooveful_a to_o be_v know_v love_n rejoice_v not_o in_o iniquity_n nor_o in_o
our_o face_n etc_n etc_n but_o the_o godly_a man_n that_o ever_o live_v be_v never_o free_a from_o all_o those_o punishment_n that_o there_o be_v appoint_v for_o the_o transgressor_n of_o the_o law_n nor_o yet_o bless_v with_o all_o those_o blessing_n in_o all_o thing_n which_o be_v promise_v to_o they_o that_o keep_v the_o law_n 28._o and_o thereupon_o we_o may_v safe_o conclude_v that_o the_o which_o the_o lord_n from_o heaven_n have_v reprove_v by_o punishment_n bring_v in_o upon_o they_o and_o therefore_o he_o do_v strengthen_v his_o former_a affirmation_n that_o the_o just_a man_n shall_v live_v by_o faith_n which_o be_v his_o purpose_n to_o prove_v unto_o they_o and_o unto_o the_o which_o end_n he_o direct_v all_o his_o speech_n in_o those_o four_o chapter_n in_o like_a the_o treasure_n of_o his_o kingdom_n above_o all_o the_o obedience_n that_o we_o can_v perform_v and_o to_o set_v they_o at_o a_o great_a price_n than_o this_o poverty_n and_o want_n that_o we_o be_v in_o shall_v ever_o be_v able_a to_o reach_v unto_o if_o it_o be_v further_o demand_v what_o meaning_n the_o lord_n have_v in_o promise_a life_n unto_o we_o for_o do_v of_o that_o which_o he_o know_v we_o never_o can_v perform_v and_o bring_v to_o pass_v it_o be_v to_o be_v answer_v that_o the_o lord_n do_v it_o to_o let_v we_o who_o be_v so_o well_o persuade_v by_o the_o nature_n of_o our_o own_o ability_n see_v clear_o into_o our_o poverty_n and_o want_n how_o great_a it_o be_v that_o we_o may_v have_v true_a trial_n within_o ourselves_o how_o great_o we_o be_v behold_v unto_o the_o free_a mercy_n of_o god_o in_o jesus_n christ_n when_o we_o shall_v have_v see_v plain_o by_o the_o law_n how_o unable_a we_o be_v to_o perform_v that_o there_o be_v require_v to_o be_v do_v of_o so_o many_o as_o hope_v for_o wage_n by_o reason_n of_o their_o work_n and_o that_o if_o we_o will_v lay_v claim_n to_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_o for_o our_o work_v we_o remain_v accurse_v for_o every_o sin_n and_o offence_n against_o the_o law_n commit_v by_o we_o because_o it_o be_v the_o write_a sentence_n of_o the_o law_n that_o he_o be_v curse_a that_o continue_v not_o in_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v write_v in_o the_o book_n of_o the_o law_n to_o do_v they_o than_o not_o from_o the_o bare_a speech_n of_o our_o mouth_n but_o from_o the_o true_a trial_n of_o our_o heart_n we_o be_v send_v to_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_o alone_o to_o stick_v whole_o unto_o they_o acknowledge_v all_o our_o goodness_n to_o proceed_v from_o thence_o alone_o and_o be_v compel_v by_o the_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o our_o own_o want_n make_v know_v unto_o we_o by_o the_o law_n to_o let_v pass_v all_o that_o opinion_n of_o our_o own_o work_n which_o we_o before_o be_v so_o well_o persuade_v of_o as_o if_o some_o impotent_a and_o lame_a child_n that_o be_v in_o deed_n able_a to_o do_v nothing_o towards_o the_o earn_n of_o his_o live_a be_v chargeable_a to_o his_o father_n not_o only_o for_o himself_o but_o also_o for_o one_o that_o shall_v give_v attendance_n unto_o he_o shall_v in_o the_o foolish_a persuasion_n

perpetual_a doctrine_n unto_o the_o church_n that_o when_o any_o punishment_n be_v upon_o those_o that_o be_v his_o they_o shall_v confess_v their_o sin_n in_o truth_n with_o a_o assure_a hope_n in_o punishment_n be_v upon_o they_o for_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o their_o sin_n and_o as_o plain_a be_v this_o also_o that_o his_o mercy_n towards_o they_o &_o pardon_v of_o their_o sin_n consist_v not_o only_o in_o the_o remove_n of_o the_o fault_n from_o they_o but_o also_o of_o the_o punishment_n that_o be_v due_a for_o the_o fault_n &_o transgression_n for_o he_o pray_v that_o when_o the_o people_n shall_v be_v lead_v out_o of_o their_o land_n by_o their_o enemy_n because_o they_o have_v sin_v against_o the_o lord_n that_o if_o they_o shall_v confess_v their_o sin_n and_o turn_v unto_o the_o lord_n then_o he_o will_v be_v merciful_a and_o bring_v they_o again_o unto_o the_o land_n which_o be_v to_o remove_v the_o punishment_n from_o they_o as_o well_o as_o the_o fault_n and_o guiltiness_n this_o be_v that_o punishment_n to_o be_v captive_n and_o prisoner_n in_o their_o enemy_n land_n when_o they_o be_v bring_v home_o this_o punishment_n be_v remove_v the_o like_a proof_n we_o have_v of_o this_o matter_n in_o the_o same_o chapter_n in_o these_o word_n when_o heaven_n shall_v be_v shut_v up_o 35._o &_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o rain_n because_o they_o have_v sin_v against_o thou_o and_o shall_v pray_v in_o this_o place_n and_o turn_v from_o their_o sin_n when_o thou_o do_v afflict_v they_o then_o hear_v thou_o in_o heaven_n &_o pardon_v the_o sin_n of_o thy_o the_o fault_n of_o he_o and_o yet_o retain_v still_o the_o punishment_n which_o they_o say_v must_v be_v redeem_v by_o their_o satisfaction_n a_o dangerous_a doctrine_n that_o god_n shall_v absolve_v they_o of_o the_o fault_n &_o yet_o press_v they_o with_o the_o punishment_n which_o do_v not_o appertain_v unto_o they_o but_o in_o respect_n of_o their_o offence_n because_o they_o be_v faulty_a we_o have_v so_o often_o hear_v of_o before_o when_o he_o pray_v that_o the_o people_n of_o god_n may_v have_v their_o punishment_n remove_v when_o they_o call_v upon_o he_o there_o be_v always_o add_v the_o condition_n of_o turn_v from_o their_o sin_n either_o in_o express_a word_n or_o else_o in_o word_n that_o necessary_o import_v the_o same_o as_o to_o take_v one_o example_n for_o many_o sundry_a profitable_a instruction_n for_o by_o it_o we_o be_v teach_v what_o shall_v be_v the_o end_n of_o our_o petition_n why_o we_o will_v have_v they_o grant_v even_o that_o his_o kingdom_n power_n &_o glory_n may_v be_v advance_v for_o as_o we_o have_v learn_v before_o while_o that_o the_o lord_n frame_v he_o to_o the_o obedience_n of_o his_o will_n give_v good_a thing_n unto_o they_o remove_v evil_a thing_n from_o they_o his_o name_n be_v hallow_v his_o kingdom_n come_v &_o his_o will_n be_v do_v here_o in_o earth_n for_o by_o deal_v thus_o with_o his_o servant_n he_o will_v be_v know_v to_o rule_v and_o reign_v here_o upon_o earth_n &_o be_v glorify_v in_o the_o same_o this_o desire_n therefore_o to_o have_v he_o glorify_v shall_v be_v both_o at_o the_o beginning_n and_o end_n of_o our_o prayer_n whether_o our_o suit_n be_v for_o spiritual_a grace_n or_o for_o temporal_a blessing_n by_o this_o also_o our_o faith_n be_v strengthen_v in_o the_o hope_n to_o obtain_v our_o petition_n because_o the_o lord_n can_v neglect_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o name_n and_o the_o honour_n of_o his_o kingdom_n which_o depend_v upon_o the_o performance_n of_o his_o mercy_n towards_o his_o servant_n that_o call_v upon_o he_o &_o therefore_o our_o hope_n can_v deceive_v we_o be_v join_v so_o near_o unto_o the_o glory_n of_o our_o god._n moreover_o in_o this_o we_o be_v admonish_v that_o it_o be_v not_o the_o worthiness_n of_o ourselves_o nor_o yet_o of_o any_o other_o but_o the_o honour_n of_o his_o name_n that_o commend_v our_o suit_n and_o petition_n unto_o the_o lord_n final_o herein_o we_o be_v admonish_v of_o a_o special_a worship_n and_o service_n which_o be_v thank_n give_v unto_o god_o when_o soever_o we_o receive_v any_o benefit_n of_o what_o kind_n soever_o for_o we_o acknowledge_v in_o our_o prayer_n not_o only_o that_o he_o have_v the_o dispose_n of_o these_o benefit_n but_o also_o that_o his_o kingdom_n glory_n &_o honour_n consist_v in_o the_o reward_v of_o his_o with_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v find_v traitor_n to_o the_o crown_n of_o his_o kingdom_n if_o after_o benefit_n receive_v we_o do_v not_o by_o thank_n give_v confess_v and_o acknowledge_v the_o same_o this_o give_v of_o thank_n be_v a_o special_a worship_n and_o service_n of_o god_n in_o somuch_o that_o the_o lord_n reject_v sacrifice_n place_v his_o honour_n in_o thanksgiving_n will_v i_o eat_v the_o flesh_n of_o bull_n 50.13_o or_o drink_v the_o blood_n of_o goat_n say_v the_o lord_n by_o his_o ptophet_n offer_v unto_o god_n praise_n and_o pay_v the_o vow_n of_o god_n peculiar_a and_o proper_a unto_o the_o child_n of_o god_n for_o the_o wicked_a be_v not_o acquaint_v with_o it_o they_o see_v not_o the_o lord_n his_o arm_n in_o their_o deliverance_n they_o see_v not_o through_o the_o instrument_n that_o god_n use_v to_o help_v they_o by_o into_o the_o especial_a goodwill_n and_o favour_n of_o god_o from_o whence_o the_o godly_a take_v those_o help_n to_o come_v as_o a_o plain_a proof_n thereof_o therefore_o do_v the_o prophet_n say_v the_o voice_n of_o joy_n and_o deliverance_n shall_v be_v in_o the_o tabernacle_n of_o the_o righteous_a say_v 118.15_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o the_o lord_n have_v do_v valiant_o he_o make_v it_o the_o peculiar_a work_n of_o the_o righteous_a to_o rejoice_v in_o the_o lord_n and_o in_o heart_n to_o not_o overwhelm_v in_o his_o affliction_n and_o so_o the_o lord_n want_v the_o praise_n of_o his_o deliverance_n return_v oh_o lord_n deliver_v my_o life_n save_v i_o for_o thy_o mercy_n sake_n for_o in_o death_n there_o be_v no_o remembrance_n of_o thou_o in_o the_o grave_n who_o shall_v praise_v thou_o the_o scripture_n be_v plentiful_a in_o such_o proof_n where_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n have_v great_o long_v for_o deliverance_n that_o they_o may_v praise_v his_o name_n and_o have_v urge_v it_o as_o a_o reason_n to_o persuade_v the_o lord_n to_o hear_v their_o petition_n because_o than_o they_o will_v offer_v unto_o he_o that_o well_o please_a sacrifice_n and_o service_n of_o thanksgiving_n a_o sacrifice_n that_o do_v so_o great_o please_v the_o lord_n and_o therefore_o can_v but_o be_v well_o like_v of_o all_o those_o that_o be_v he_o it_o be_v declare_v before_o that_o there_o be_v a_o solemn_a rite_n and_o ceremony_n among_o the_o jew_n in_o their_o thank_n give_v after_o soon_o great_a benefit_n receive_v where_o the_o godly_a meet_v together_o not_o only_o to_o give_v praise_n but_o also_o to_o be_v confirm_v and_o strengthen_v more_o &_o more_o in_o their_o faith_n &_o persuasion_n of_o his_o fatherly_a care_n and_o regard_n that_o he_o have_v towards_o those_o that_o be_v he_o this_o be_v make_v plain_a unto_o we_o in_o the_o psalm_n he_o have_v bring_v i_o out_o of_o the_o horrible_a pit_n say_v the_o prophet_n and_o he_o have_v put_v in_o my_o mouth_n a_o new_a song_n of_o praise_n unto_o our_o god._n 40.2_o many_o shall_v see_v it_o and_o fear_n and_o shall_v trust_v in_o the_o lord_n it_o can_v but_o be_v a_o singular_a worship_n of_o god_n that_o ascribe_v this_o right_a of_o government_n and_o care_n of_o his_o servant_n unto_o he_o that_o also_o have_v in_o it_o such_o force_n to_o increase_v faith_n which_o be_v the_o fountain_n of_o all_o obedience_n how_o great_a then_o be_v the_o sin_n of_o unthankfulness_n when_o man_n pass_v over_o the_o benefit_n of_o god_n and_o the_o assure_a pledge_n of_o his_o favour_n without_o any_o thankful_a remembrance_n or_o comfortable_a assurance_n of_o the_o good_a will_n of_o god_o sure_o the_o neglect_n of_o this_o duty_n i_o mean_v of_o thank_n give_v to_o god_n when_o we_o receive_v any_o singular_a benefit_n as_o some_o notable_a deliverance_n from_o danger_n or_o happy_a out_o go_v from_o our_o trouble_n deny_v the_o lord_n to_o be_v the_o disposer_n and_o governor_n of_o thing_n here_o below_o &_o father_v they_o upon_o fortune_n or_o chance_n how_o soever_o they_o deny_v it_o in_o word_n it_o deny_v in_o deed_n any_o especial_a care_n to_o be_v in_o god_n over_o he_o it_o make_v god_n to_o be_v nothing_o beside_o a_o bare_a name_n and_o vain_a imagination_n it_o overthrow_v faith_n which_o persuade_v we_o of_o the_o special_a care_n and_o good_a will_n that_o god_n bear_v we_o in_o take_v his_o benefit_n not_o as_o common_a thing_n but_o as_o pledge_n of_o his_o peculiar_a favour_n in_o that_o as_o common_a matter_n and_o no_o witness_n of_o any_o especial_a good_a will_n by_o unthankfulness_n they_o be_v pass_v over_o and_o light_o let_v slip_v moreover_o the_o want_n of_o this_o duty_n hinder_v the_o profit_v of_o other_o in_o that_o they_o deny_v this_o help_n of_o strengthen_v their_o faith_n which_o the_o lord_n have_v appoint_v and_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n have_v practise_v according_a as_o it_o be_v of_o late_o cite_v out_o of_o the_o prophet_n that_o many_o shall_v see_v what_o the_o lord_n have_v do_v and_o be_v draw_v to_o put_v their_o trust_n in_o he_o now_o let_v we_o pray_v unto_o our_o heavenly_a father_n in_o the_o name_n of_o his_o son_n that_o we_o may_v so_o pray_v that_o we_o may_v obtain_v
