doubt_v of_o his_o faith_n he_o may_v make_v use_n of_o it_o it_o be_v not_o of_o such_o we_o here_o dispute_v of_o but_o he_o put_v the_o objection_n forward_o viz._n be_v it_o not_o absurd_a for_o a_o man_n to_o set_v his_o seal_n where_o there_o have_v be_v no_o agreement_n and_o transaction_n before_o so_o do_v unregenerate_a man_n who_o come_v to_o the_o sacrament_n without_o that_o solemn_a give_v up_o the_o soul_n to_o god_n as_o he_o aught_o who_o enter_v into_o covenant_n with_o he_o to_o this_o he_o answer_v that_o there_o be_v too_o many_o come_v absurd_o and_o wicked_o etc._n etc._n now_o say_v he_o though_o the_o receiver_n fail_v on_o his_o part_n in_o his_o solemn_a mutual_a engagement_n whereof_o he_o be_v to_o repent_v yet_o as_o for_o the_o minister_n and_o church_n there_o be_v a_o true_a seal_n to_o a_o true_a copy_n etc._n etc._n answ_n now_o we_o reply_v to_o he_o there_o be_v a_o true_a seal_n to_o a_o true_a copy_n but_o not_o to_o be_v deliver_v to_o that_o the_o receiver_n ought_v solemn_o to_o profess_v and_o give_v up_o himself_o to_o god_n and_o enter_v into_o covenant_n with_o he_o before_o he_o be_v admit_v by_o they_o to_o the_o seal_n of_o it_o if_o the_o person_n do_v not_o this_o in_o sincerity_n let_v he_o look_v to_o that_o but_o that_o he_o do_v it_o be_v the_o church_n part_n to_o require_v of_o he_o without_o which_o we_o believe_v he_o can_v full_o acquit_v the_o church_n as_o he_o undertake_v to_o do_v p._n 47._o and_o without_o this_o instead_o of_o nothing_o be_v out_o of_o order_n as_o he_o speak_v there_o be_v hardly_o any_o thing_n in_o order_n now_o if_o the_o receiver_n do_v this_o the_o minister_n and_o church_n receive_v he_o in_o the_o judgement_n of_o love_n as_o a_o regenerate_a person_n and_o so_o they_o do_v not_o sin_n in_o offer_v the_o sacrament_n as_o a_o seal_n on_o god_n part_n but_o say_v he_o the_o sacrament_n seal_v general_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o covenant_n free_o to_o all_o engage_v they_o unto_o it_o and_o the_o interest_n and_o benefit_n of_o it_o to_o every_o single_a person_n upon_o the_o term_n condition_n tenor_n of_o the_o gospel_n answ_n with_o this_o notion_n which_o he_o say_v have_v lie_v as_o a_o embryon_n a_o long_a time_n he_o profess_v himself_o and_o another_o pierce_a godly_a man_n to_o be_v convert_v with_o it_o we_o shall_v not_o judge_v they_o in_o this_o their_o conversion_n but_o take_v boldness_n from_o the_o deceit_n we_o have_v learn_v in_o our_o own_o heart_n that_o it_o be_v no_o hard_a matter_n to_o get_v distinction_n to_o pacify_v the_o conscience_n in_o a_o troublesome_a work_n as_o the_o practice_n of_o reformation_n be_v we_o answer_v the_o blood_n of_o christ_n seal_v the_o covenant_n of_o god_n but_o when_o it_o be_v offer_v in_o the_o sign_n of_o it_o the_o sacrament_n it_o be_v to_o such_o person_n who_o accept_v of_o the_o covenant_n upon_o the_o term_n and_o condition_n of_o it_o as_o himself_o speak_v and_o of_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n thereby_o signify_v and_o it_o seal_v to_o none_o but_o to_o they_o who_o have_v communion_n with_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n 1_o cor._n 10.16_o therefore_o it_o great_a mistake_n lie_v in_o it_o in_o confound_v of_o thing_n that_o ought_v to_o be_v distinguish_v we_o say_v the_o tender_a of_o the_o covenant_n be_v first_o in_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n upon_o which_o believer_n profess_v to_o own_o and_o accept_v of_o and_o enter_v into_o it_o not_o by_o a_o mere_a tacit_n come_v which_o have_v do_v before_o the_o lord_n and_o the_o church_n then_o as_o the_o sacrament_n shall_v be_v administer_v the_o seal_n be_v annex_v to_o it_o and_o a_o believer_n receive_v the_o blood_n of_o christ_n jesus_n as_o a_o seal_n of_o god_n
