weighty_a and_o of_o marvellous_a great_a consequence_n for_o it_o do_v concern_v the_o estate_n of_o religion_n the_o truth_n of_o god_n and_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n for_o the_o direction_n of_o their_o understanding_n and_o settle_v of_o their_o will_n in_o matter_n of_o conscience_n whereof_o every_o man_n be_v bind_v to_o have_v a_o special_a care_n therefore_o it_o be_v natural_a to_o all_o man_n not_o to_o endure_v any_o sudden_a reformation_n or_o change_n therein_o because_o tacit_o he_o be_v thereby_o reprove_v and_o convict_v as_o if_o hitherto_o he_o have_v not_o be_v in_o the_o right_a way_n of_o salvation_n which_o be_v a_o great_a trouble_n unto_o the_o spirit_n of_o man_n that_o be_v zealous_a for_o mean_n of_o eternal_a life_n and_o a_o matter_n that_o can_v be_v digest_v by_o any_o but_o such_o as_o have_v no_o true_a sense_n of_o religion_n from_o hence_o then_o it_o follow_v that_o it_o will_v be_v a_o matter_n of_o extreme_a difficulty_n to_o meddle_v in_o this_o business_n because_o it_o touch_v the_o very_a apple_n of_o a_o man_n spiritual_a eye_n wherein_o the_o least_o disturbance_n of_o the_o world_n be_v not_o only_o perceptible_a but_o also_o intolerable_a because_o it_o do_v endanger_v he_o to_o lose_v his_o whole_a sight_n that_o be_v to_o say_v to_o lose_v all_o sense_n &_o certainty_n of_o religion_n and_o all_o care_n of_o conscience_n if_o he_o be_v once_o unsettled_a and_o trouble_v in_o the_o profession_n of_o that_o which_o he_o have_v hitherto_o maintain_v to_o remedy_v this_o inconvenience_n and_o all_o the_o dangerous_a consequence_n follow_v thereupon_o prevention_n must_v be_v use_v towards_o the_o understanding_n and_o will_n of_o man_n that_o be_v weak_a and_o make_v they_o sensible_a of_o the_o true_a scope_n which_o be_v intend_v and_o of_o the_o mean_n to_o be_v use_v in_o this_o work_n the_o scope_n then_o to_o be_v real_o intend_v and_o whereof_o other_o be_v to_o be_v make_v sensible_a must_v not_o be_v to_o condemn_v to_o stagger_v or_o to_o overthrow_v any_o but_o rather_o direct_o to_o strengthen_v to_o confirm_v and_o to_o build_v up_o all_o the_o truth_n know_v and_o once_o receive_v that_o by_o the_o increase_n of_o light_n in_o theoreticall_a and_o practical_a truth_n which_o be_v of_o chief_a moment_n the_o false_a zeal_n and_o giddiness_n of_o man_n mind_n about_o private_a opinion_n about_o doubtful_a and_o disputable_a matter_n which_o common_o be_v of_o no_o great_a consequence_n unto_o salvation_n but_o rather_o proceed_v from_o curiosity_n and_o self-conceited_a imagination_n may_v fall_v of_o themselves_o unto_o the_o ground_n which_o will_v fall_v out_o when_o once_o invincible_o truth_n will_v sway_v the_o conscience_n and_o will_n of_o man_n to_o look_v more_o after_o matter_n of_o present_a edification_n in_o the_o knowledge_n and_o duty_n of_o godliness_n and_o mutual_a love_n then_o after_o high_a and_o sublime_a mystery_n whereby_o man_n be_v not_o only_o involve_v into_o a_o labyrinth_n of_o doubt_n and_o scruple_n which_o breed_v improfitable_a question_n but_o also_o withdraw_v in_o their_o understanding_n from_o the_o only_a true_a comfortable_a and_o laudable_a object_n of_o meditation_n thus_o than_o if_o the_o real_a purpose_n of_o the_o work_n be_v to_o lead_v the_o mind_n of_o man_n unto_o such_o object_n of_o knowledge_n whereby_o infallible_o comfort_n may_v arise_v unto_o their_o soul_n and_o if_o mean_v fit_a to_o effect_v this_o be_v make_v use_n of_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o all_o the_o difficulty_n and_o fear_n of_o other_o thing_n will_v be_v swallow_v up_o and_o drown_v in_o the_o life_n of_o godly_a affection_n which_o will_v enlighten_v and_o settle_v the_o soul_n in_o the_o way_n of_o peace_n and_o righteousness_n towards_o god_n and_o man_n by_o which_o mean_v without_o all_o occasion_n of_o dispute_n without_o all_o danger_n of_o apparent_a change_n and_o without_o all_o occasion_n of_o outward_a condemnation_n and_o fear_n of_o inward_a trouble_n perplexity_n to_o the_o conscience_n man_n will_v be_v enable_v and_o addict_v to_o judge_v themselves_o and_o so_o by_o little_a &_o little_a to_o rectify_v their_o own_o way_n from_o all_o circumstance_n of_o scandal_n and_o from_o evil_a inclination_n which_o through_o disorderly_a affection_n and_o untoward_a action_n have_v breed_v all_o these_o division_n now_o the_o mean_n by_o which_o this_o purpose_n may_v be_v bring_v to_o pass_v as_o well_o towards_o the_o understanding_n as_o towards_o the_o will_n of_o conscionable_a man_n whether_o they_o be_v learn_v or_o unlearned_a statesman_n or_o divine_n of_o this_o or_o that_o side_n be_v no_o way_n difficult_a but_o easy_a to_o be_v set_v a_o work_n if_o the_o matter_n itself_o
