those_o guide_n which_o the_o church_n have_v lawful_o call_v and_o authorize_v in_o all_o case_n of_o conscience_n for_o since_o as_o this_o gentleman_n tell_v we_o many_o nay_o most_o of_o man_n and_o the_o wise_a of_o man_n have_v err_v though_o they_o have_v have_v all_o the_o advantage_n to_o improve_v their_o reason_n that_o this_o world_n can_v afford_v they_o how_o shall_v any_o ordinary_a man_n who_o be_v void_a of_o all_o help_n but_o his_o own_o natural_a reason_n dare_v to_o rely_v upon_o it_o alone_o in_o business_n of_o so_o great_a concern_v as_o his_o eternal_a happiness_n or_o misery_n especial_o since_o he_o do_v not_o think_v it_o convenient_a to_o rely_v upon_o it_o in_o business_n of_o lesser_a concern_n viz._n that_o of_o his_o health_n or_o estate_n every_o private_a person_n to_o be_v whole_o commit_v to_o the_o guidance_n of_o his_o own_o reason_n according_a to_o this_o author_n doctrine_n and_o let_v we_o see_v what_o safety_n he_o enjoy_v thereby_o for_o then_o suppose_v he_o meet_v with_o a_o cunning_a gentleman_n from_o rome_n that_o have_v be_v bring_v up_o in_o all_o advantage_n of_o learning_n and_o education_n that_o shall_v jesuit_n in_o disguise_n who_o business_n it_o be_v to_o convert_v man_n first_o to_o debauchery_n then_o to_o atheism_n and_o so_o by_o degree_n to_o popery_n who_o shall_v baffle_v all_o his_o reason_n for_o the_o practice_n of_o virtue_n nay_o for_o the_o immortality_n of_o his_o soul_n and_o for_o the_o be_v of_o god_n as_o it_o may_v well_o be_v suppose_v where_o there_o be_v so_o great_a a_o difference_n in_o the_o advantage_n of_o the_o person_n what_o then_o will_v become_v of_o he_o if_o he_o commit_v himself_o only_o to_o the_o guidance_n of_o his_o own_o reason_n he_o man_n chance_n to_o prove_v that_o in_o most_o case_n of_o our_o life_n we_o be_v secure_a if_o we_o follow_v authority_n though_o we_o may_v err_v thereby_o may_v though_o we_o err_v contrary_a to_o our_o own_o reason_n and_o that_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n if_o we_o err_v by_o follow_v our_o own_o reason_n against_o authority_n we_o be_v clear_o leave_v without_o excuse_n for_o our_o presumption_n how_o then_o what_o will_v become_v of_o the_o grand_a security_n our_o author_n say_v every_o man_n have_v in_o be_v guide_v by_o his_o own_o understanding_n will_v it_o not_o thence_o be_v clear_o prove_v that_o authority_n be_v a_o much_o safe_a guide_n in_o those_o thing_n than_o every_o man_n own_o reason_n and_o yet_o i_o think_v what_o i_o have_v undertake_v will_n neither_o require_v any_o extraordinary_a brain_n nor_o pain_n to_o demonstrate_v for_o be_v it_o not_o as_o visible_a as_o the_o sun_n in_o our_o assent_n to_o all_o matter_n of_o fact_n from_o the_o authority_n of_o witness_n and_o in_o our_o obedience_n to_o authority_n in_o all_o indifferent_a thing_n for_o in_o both_o these_o case_n especial_o in_o the_o latter_a he_o that_o err_v with_o authority_n may_v plead_v the_o authority_n for_o his_o excuse_n but_o he_o that_o err_v against_o it_o be_v quite_o jeft_n without_o any_o excuse_n at_o all_o for_o in_o all_o thing_n indifferent_a in_o their_o own_o nature_n i._n e._n all_o such_o thing_n which_o before_o any_o humane_a command_n concern_v they_o be_v whole_o leave_v to_o every_o man_n own_o judgement_n be_v neither_o forbid_v because_o we_o lie_v the_o blasphemous_a accusation_n of_o injustice_n upon_o god_n if_o he_o punish_v we_o for_o a_o error_n that_o we_o can_v not_o avoid_v these_o be_v his_o word_n but_o i_o
