those_o thing_n which_o be_v promise_v or_o concern_v the_o mediator_n faithfulness_n of_o the_o promiser_n for_o what_o be_v more_o sure_a than_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n what_o more_o stable_n than_o the_o faithfulness_n of_o the_o promiser_n what_o more_o free_a than_o mercy_n free_o propose_v in_o christ_n wherefore_o the_o rather_o this_o unsavoury_a and_o no_o less_o reproachful_a of_o salvation_n which_o they_o of_o trent_n condemn_v with_o a_o anathema_n hosius_n detest_v it_o as_o vain_a and_o unprofitable_a argue_v as_o if_o this_o assurance_n of_o divine_a grace_n do_v concern_v the_o assurance_n of_o christian_a reliance_n against_o hosius_n a_o worthy_a comparison_n for_o sooth_n uncertainty_n of_o god_n and_o man_n which_o disannul_v and_o destroy_v all_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n the_o whole_a doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n yea_o and_o the_o foundation_n of_o all_o religion_n for_o to_o what_o purpose_n shall_v god_n promise_v by_o his_o word_n if_o he_o will_v not_o have_v we_o assure_v of_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v promise_v a_o son_n be_v promise_v to_o abraham_n and_o he_o believe_v not_o at_o all_o distrust_v he_o that_o promise_v and_o it_o be_v account_v a_o praise_n to_o he_o what_o then_o do_v you_o praise_v the_o undaunted_a confidence_n of_o abraham_n and_o do_v you_o dispraise_v we_o in_o like_a manner_n the_o seed_n to_o come_v be_v promise_v to_o miserable_a adam_n to_o what_o purpose_n that_o he_o may_v stick_v in_o a_o tremble_a waver_a diffidence_n or_o rather_o that_o he_o may_v support_v his_o mind_n with_o the_o expectation_n of_o the_o promise_a consolation_n there_o be_v so_o many_o engagement_n of_o promise_n in_o both_o covenant_n which_o if_o the_o divine_a truth_n will_v not_o have_v make_v sure_a unto_o we_o why_o then_o will_v he_o have_v they_o write_v in_o the_o word_n and_o record_v in_o book_n brief_o why_o be_v we_o command_v in_o the_o christian_a article_n of_o faith_n to_o believe_v the_o remission_n of_o sin_n the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o life_n eternal_a but_o that_o we_o may_v reckon_v those_o thing_n to_o be_v most_o sure_o unto_o we_o which_o be_v insert_v in_o the_o article_n therefore_o that_o be_v false_a which_o hosius_n affirm_v that_o no_o man_n be_v bind_v to_o believe_v firm_o or_o to_o hold_v assure_o either_o concern_v himself_o or_o this_o man_n or_o that_o man_n that_o his_o sin_n be_v forgive_v he_o for_o christ_n sake_n that_o he_o be_v in_o a_o state_n of_o grace_n and_o that_o he_o be_v assure_o to_o possess_v the_o kingdom_n of_o 32._o heaven_n etc._n etc._n and_o again_o neither_o be_v that_o less_o false_a which_o he_o father_n upon_o man_n of_o our_o persuasion_n as_o if_o we_o hold_v thus_o that_o every_o man_n be_v a_o partaker_n upon_o that_o account_n only_o because_o he_o have_v determine_v himself_o to_o be_v a_o person_n that_o will_v be_v accept_v of_o god_n which_o be_v not_o true_a and_o be_v not_o without_o a_o impudent_a calumny_n for_o we_o be_v not_o of_o such_o a_o opinion_n as_o to_o believe_v that_o a_o assure_a persuasion_n of_o mercy_n shall_v by_o any_o mean_n be_v separate_v from_o justify_v faith_n which_o the_o divine_n of_o the_o popish_a way_n do_v abominable_o neither_o again_o do_v we_o transfer_v proper_o the_o very_a cause_n of_o justification_n into_o this_o confidence_n and_o naked_a application_n of_o marcy_n as_o they_o false_o slander_v we_o why_o so_o because_o yet_o some_o other_o thing_n be_v want_v which_o must_v needs_o go_v before_o this_o application_n of_o the_o promise_n and_o which_o be_v necessary_o require_v to_o the_o true_a cause_n of_o justify_v the_o cause_n of_o justification_n depend_v not_o on_o confidence_n or_o the_o application_n of_o mercy_n only_o you_o will_v say_v what_o then_o be_v mediator_n not_o the_o free_a promise_n of_o god_n a_o most_o true_a cause_n on_o which_o our_o whole_a justification_n depend_v if_o you_o say_v on_o
