reason_n of_o mankind_n i_o can_v think_v of_o no_o more_o but_o two_o way_n whereby_o man_n shall_v be_v bring_v universal_o to_o consent_v in_o a_o thing_n of_o so_o weighty_a concernment_n which_o be_v not_o obvious_a to_o their_o sense_n either_o first_o the_o be_v of_o a_o god_n be_v a_o thing_n so_o imprint_v in_o nature_n that_o the_o reason_n of_o man_n can_v be_v awake_a and_o consider_v a_o thing_n be_v not_o which_o it_o be_v natural_a to_o he_o to_o discern_v and_o which_o he_o can_v no_o soon_o open_v and_o use_v as_o he_o ought_v the_o eye_n of_o his_o soul_n to_o look_v after_o but_o he_o must_v needs_o see_v it_o if_o then_o it_o be_v natural_a to_o man_n by_o the_o use_n of_o reason_n to_o discern_v the_o be_v of_o a_o god_n and_o if_o this_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o man_n general_o notwithstanding_o all_o their_o other_o disagreement_n be_v agree_v in_o this_o belief_n then_o be_v it_o both_o reasonable_a and_o natural_a for_o man_n to_o believe_v it_o and_o if_o any_o one_o believe_v it_o not_o it_o be_v because_o he_o be_v not_o a_o perfect_a man_n but_o be_v defective_a in_o some_o faculty_n essential_a to_o mankind_n it_o must_v be_v either_o because_o he_o want_v the_o use_n of_o reason_n or_o because_o he_o will_v not_o use_v it_o and_o whichsoever_o it_o be_v no_o man_n can_v deny_v he_o to_o be_v a_o fool_n for_o what_o be_v it_o else_o to_o he_o for_o end_n of_o their_o own_o which_o they_o will_v serve_v by_o it_o set_v abroach_o this_o opinion_n and_o most_o man_n see_v how_o useful_a it_o prove_v for_o the_o preservation_n of_o order_n and_o good_a government_n easy_o entertain_v it_o and_o ruler_n find_v the_o advantage_n of_o it_o to_o themselves_o have_v do_v all_o they_o can_v to_o countenance_v it_o and_o have_v punish_v all_o that_o question_v it_o and_o thus_o though_o but_o a_o politic_a invention_n at_o first_o it_o have_v prevail_v at_o length_n as_o a_o certain_a truth_n now_o if_o we_o have_v no_o may_v yet_o if_o he_o live_v in_o a_o christian_a church_n hear_v it_o and_o god_n himself_o speak_v to_o he_o in_o it_o and_o he_o that_o live_v abroad_o in_o the_o world_n though_o he_o can_v see_v god_n himself_o yet_o he_o may_v every_o where_o see_v his_o work_n and_o in_o they_o all_o the_o be_v the_o power_n the_o wisdom_n and_o the_o goodness_n of_o god._n nay_o if_o he_o can_v but_o eat_v and_o drink_v he_o may_v know_v there_o be_v a_o god_n that_o feed_v he_o for_o he_o know_v very_o well_o that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o his_o own_o power_n nor_o of_o any_o other_o creature_n to_o provide_v his_o food_n for_o he_o or_o to_o enable_v he_o to_o receive_v good_a by_o his_o food_n yet_o more_o no_o man_n how_o unlearned_a so_o ever_o he_o be_v can_v think_v serious_o of_o himself_o and_o consider_v what_o he_o be_v or_o how_o he_o live_v but_o he_o may_v easy_o discover_v a_o god_n that_o make_v he_o to_o be_v what_o he_o be_v and_o preserve_v he_o in_o be_v and_o life_n how_o owe_v a_o duty_n to_o he_o yet_o though_o we_o may_v know_v there_o be_v a_o god_n if_o we_o keep_v it_o not_o in_o mind_n and_o think_v but_o little_a of_o it_o our_o knowledge_n can_v have_v little_a influence_n on_o our_o life_n and_o behaviour_n but_o we_o shall_v demean_v ourselves_o as_o careless_o and_o be_v every_o whit_n as_o secure_v and_o unconcern_v how_o we_o live_v as_o though_o we_o have_v never_o hear_v or_o think_v of_o any_o such_o thing_n as_o a_o god._n yea_o not_o to_o consider_v and_o have_v this_o much_o in_o our_o thought_n seem_v to_o be_v more_o inexcusable_a in_o we_o than_o not_o to_o know_v it_o at_o all_o as_o he_o who_o know_v his_o lord_n will_n and_o do_v it_o not_o deserve_v to_o be_v beat_v with_o more_o stripe_n than_o he_o that_o do_v not_o his_o will_n mere_o because_o he_o know_v it_o not_o luke_n xii_o 47._o so_o he_o that_o consider_v not_o much_o that_o there_o be_v a_o god_n when_o he_o know_v it_o seem_v more_o blame-worthy_a than_o he_o who_o do_v not_o know_v it_o and_o therefore_o can_v consider_v it_o both_o be_v faulty_a and_o can_v have_v nothing_o at_o all_o to_o plead_v for_o themselves_o but_o he_o
