shall_v by_o captious_a objection_n seem_v to_o trouble_v the_o clearness_n of_o the_o infallibility_n of_o the_o catholic_n church_n which_o be_v in_o itself_o real_o impossible_a to_o be_v endanger_v yet_o be_v the_o motive_n of_o adherence_n to_o that_o communion_n so_o high_o credible_a even_o in_o a_o rational_a &_o natural_a consideration_n that_o it_o be_v a_o absolute_a madness_n to_o prefer_v any_o other_o separate_v church_n or_o congregation_n which_o can_v pretend_v to_o the_o least_o credibility_n to_o support_v it_o 3._o these_o thing_n be_v thus_o premise_v since_o there_o be_v so_o many_o degree_n of_o truth_n or_o veracity_n and_o infallibility_n and_o yet_o the_o same_o word_n infallibility_n apply_v to_o they_o all_o it_o may_v be_v very_o reasonable_a that_o great_a caution_n shall_v be_v use_v in_o the_o application_n of_o it_o that_o be_v that_o it_o shall_v be_v express_v in_o what_o sense_n and_o degree_n the_o word_n be_v take_v before_o it_o be_v urge_v or_o dispute_v upon_o so_o that_o if_o it_o be_v advance_v to_o a_o more_o sublime_a degree_n than_o the_o matter_n require_v no_o wonder_n if_o there_o be_v misunderstanding_n between_o disputant_n and_o not_o only_o a_o prolong_n of_o disputation_n but_o also_o a_o impossibility_n of_o end_v they_o now_o whether_o it_o be_v the_o fault_n of_o catholic_n controvertist_n for_o want_n of_o explication_n and_o clear_n of_o the_o sense_n of_o this_o word_n infallibility_n that_o have_v give_v a_o advantage_n to_o protestant_n i_o examine_v not_o but_o sure_o i_o be_o protestant_n have_v take_v advantage_n from_o the_o ambiguousness_n of_o this_o word_n infallibility_n to_o embroile_v the_o controversy_n of_o the_o church_n authority_n and_o to_o spin_v it_o out_o endless_o insomuch_o as_o there_o be_v not_o one_o author_n of_o they_o i_o ever_o meet_v with_o that_o treat_v of_o this_o controversy_n dispute_v to_o the_o point_n or_o so_o much_o as_o aim_n to_o combat_v against_o the_o church_n authority_n but_o against_o a_o image_n of_o infallibility_n create_v only_o by_o their_o own_o fancy_n 4._o for_o proof_n of_o this_o to_o omit_v the_o ordinary_a polemical_a write_n of_o protestant_n who_o waste_a paper_n and_o time_n only_o in_o combat_v particular_a unnecessary_a point_n controvert_v by_o catholic_n themselves_o i_o shall_v desire_v any_o ingenuous_a protestant_n to_o examine_v the_o proceed_n of_o mr._n chillingworth_n and_o even_o my_o noble_a lord_n too_o in_o this_o little_a treatise_n and_o he_o will_v acknowledge_v what_o i_o say_v to_o be_v will_v all_o christian_n be_v turn_v out_o of_o their_o way_n to_o salvation_n do_v not_o or_o may_v not_o he_o easy_o have_v be_v inform_v that_o except_v in_o infant_n even_o baptism_n itself_o and_o much_o less_o any_o other_o sacrament_n unlawful_o and_o invalid_o administer_v
infallibility_n or_o authority_n of_o the_o church_n i_o be_o most_o assure_v if_o the_o reason_n give_v by_o i_o against_o m._n chillingworth_n be_v indeed_o conclude_v and_o my_o answer_n to_o his_o authority_n 12._o as_o to_o the_o three_o absurdity_n in_o the_o opinion_n of_o i._o p._n follow_v from_o the_o unreasonableness_n of_o my_o answer_n of_o which_o the_o 1._o be_v that_o after_o all_o consequence_n 3._o i_o have_v no_o obligation_n to_o think_v still_o for_o it_o never_o concern_v i_o to_o think_v his_o argument_n to_o be_v unanswerable_a as_o they_o be_v intend_v by_o himself_o 13._o to_o the_o second_o pretend_v absurdity_n i_o further_a answer_n that_o it_o be_v true_a mr._n chillingworth_n very_o often_o mistake_v even_o his_o adversary_n in_o his_o acception_n of_o the_o word_n infallibility_n and_o this_o i_o say_v in_o general_a in_o the_o book_n and_o much_o more_o that_o he_o mistake_v in_o his_o application_n of_o this_o mistake_a notion_n to_o the_o church_n authority_n or_o qualify_v infallibility_n but_o though_o i_o say_v this_o in_o general_a you_o will_v find_v that_o when_o i_o come_v to_o a_o particular_a answer_n of_o passage_n and_o ground_n quote_v out_o of_o he_o they_o be_v such_o as_o concern_v the_o positive_a fundamental_a ground_n of_o his_o whole_a book_n and_o destroy_v not_o only_o all_o infallibility_n but_o all_o authority_n yea_o the_o very_a be_v of_o a_o church_n whether_o catholic_n or_o schismatic_a and_o where_o i_o answer_v particular_a objection_n against_o the_o church_n i_o have_v no_o recourse_n to_o his_o mistake_n of_o infallibility_n therefore_o my_o answer_n be_v to_o some_o purpose_n though_o many_o of_o his_o objection_n be_v to_o none_o as_o to_o catholic_n in_o general_n 14._o to_o the_o three_o
