increase_v of_o their_o generation_n like_o the_o light_n of_o wisdom_n and_o knowledge_n as_o it_o be_v yet_o even_o of_o they_o the_o operation_n be_v corporeal_a many_o and_o diverse_a and_o one_o thing_n grow_v out_o of_o another_o they_o be_v multiply_v by_o thy_o blessing_n o_o god_n who_o have_v refresh_v our_o soon_o cloy_v mortal_a sense_n that_o so_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v but_o be_v in_o thy_o gospel_n because_o indeed_o the_o water_n cast_v they_o forth_o the_o bitterness_n whereof_o be_v the_o very_a cause_n why_o these_o sacrament_n go_v along_o accompany_v with_o thy_o word_n 3._o now_o be_v all_o thing_n fair_a that_o thou_o have_v make_v but_o lo_o thyself_o be_v infinite_o fair_a that_o make_v these_o all_o from_o who_o have_v not_o adam_n fall_v this_o brackishnesse_n of_o the_o sea_n have_v never_o flow_v out_o of_o his_o join_n namely_o this_o mankind_n so_o profound_o and_o so_o tempestuous_o swell_v and_o so_o restles_o tumble_v up_o and_o down_o and_o then_o have_v there_o be_v no_o necessity_n of_o thy_o minister_n to_o work_v in_o many_o water_n after_o a_o corporeal_a and_o sensible_a manner_n such_o mysterious_a do_n and_o say_n for_o in_o this_o sense_n have_v those_o move_a fly_a creature_n at_o this_o present_a fall_v into_o my_o meditation_n in_o which_o people_n be_v train_v up_o &_o admit_v into_o though_o they_o have_v receive_v corporeal_a sacrament_n shall_v not_o for_o all_o this_o be_v able_a to_o profit_v by_o they_o unless_o their_o soul_n be_v also_o quicken_v up_o unto_o a_o consummation_n high_a pitch_n and_o unless_o after_o the_o word_n of_o admission_n it_o look_v forward_o to_o perfection_n chap._n 21._o he_o allegorize_v upon_o the_o creation_n of_o bird_n and_o fish_n allude_v by_o they_o unto_o such_o as_o have_v receive_v the_o lord_n supper_n be_v better_o teach_v and_o mortify_v which_o be_v perfect_a christian_n than_o the_o mere_o baptize_v 1._o and_o hereby_o by_o virtue_n of_o thy_o word_n not_o the_o deepness_n of_o the_o sea_n but_o the_o earth_n itself_o once_o separate_v from_o the_o bitterness_n of_o the_o water_n bring_v forth_o not_o the_o creep_a and_o fly_v creature_n of_o soul_n have_v life_n in_o they_o but_o the_o live_a soul_n it_o 20_o self_n which_o have_v now_o no_o 7._o more_o need_n of_o baptism_n as_o the_o heathen_a yet_o have_v and_o as_o itself_o also_o have_v when_o it_o be_v cover_v heretofore_o with_o the_o water_n for_o there_o be_v entrance_n into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n no_o other_o way_n baptism_n since_o the_o time_n that_o thou_o have_v institute_v this_o sacrament_n for_o man_n to_o enter_v by_o nor_o do_v the_o live_a soul_n any_o more_o seek_v after_o miracle_n to_o work_v belief_n nor_o be_v it_o so_o with_o it_o any_o long_o that_o unless_o it_o see_v sign_n and_o wonder_n it_o will_v not_o believe_v now_o that_o the_o faithful_a earth_n be_v separate_v from_o the_o water_n that_o be_v bitter_a with_o infidelity_n and_o that_o tongue_n be_v for_o a_o sign_n not_o to_o they_o that_o believe_v but_o to_o they_o that_o believe_v not_o 22_o the_o earth_n therefore_o which_o thou_o have_v found_v upon_o over_o the_o fowl_n of_o the_o air_n and_o over_o all_o cattle_n and_o wild_a beast_n and_o over_o all_o the_o earth_n and_o over_o every_o creep_a thing_n that_o creep_v upon_o the_o earth_n for_o this_o he_o exercise_v by_o the_o understanding_n of_o his_o mind_n by_o the_o which_o he_o perceive_v the_o thing_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o 14_o god_n whereas_o otherwise_o man_n be_v in_o honour_n grace_n spiritual_a in_o which_o according_a to_o sex_n of_o body_n there_o be_v neither_o male_a nor_o female_a because_o neither_o jew_n nor_o grecian_a neither_o bond_n nor_o free_a 11_o 2._o spiritual_a person_n therefore_o whether_o such_o as_o govern_v or_o such_o as_o obey_v do_v judge_v spiritual_o not_o upon_o those_o spiritual_a thought_n which_o shine_v in_o the_o firmament_n for_o they_o ought_v not_o to_o pass_v their_o judgement_n upon_o so_o supreme_a authority_n for_o they_o may_v not_o censure_v thy_o bible_n notwithstanding_o something_o in_o it_o shine_v not_o out_o clear_o enough_o for_o we_o submit_v our_o understanding_n unto_o that_o &_o hold_v for_o certain_a that_o even_o that_o which_o be_v shut_v from_o our_o eye_n to_o be_v most_o right_o and_o true_o either_o in_o the_o solemnity_n of_o that_o sacrament_n by_o which_o such_o be_v admit_v into_o the_o church_n as_o thy_o mercy_n search_v out_o among_o many_o water_n sacrament_n or_o in_o that_o of_o word_n as_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o authority_n of_o thy_o bible_n like_o the_o fowl_n as_o it_o be_v fly_v under_o the_o firmament_n namely_o by_o interpret_n expound_v discourse_v dispute_v consecrate_v or_o pray_v unto_o thou_o with_o the_o mouth_n with_o expression_n break_v forth_o and_o a_o loud_a sound_v that_o the_o people_n may_v answer_v 36._o amen_n 4._o for_o the_o vocal_a pronounce_v of_o all_o which_o word_n the_o occasion_n grow_v from_o the_o darksome_a deep_o of_o this_o present_a world_n and_o from_o the_o blindness_n of_o flesh_n &_o blood_n see_v that_o by_o find_v amiss_o in_o the_o work_n and_o manner_n of_o the_o faithful_a yea_o &_o in_o their_o alm_n too_o which_o resemble_v the_o earth_n bring_v forth_o fruit_n and_o of_o the_o whole_a live_a soul_n that_o have_v tame_v she_o own_o affection_n by_o chastity_n by_o fast_v and_o by_o holy_a meditation_n and_o of_o all_o those_o thing_n too_o which_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o body_n upon_o all_o these_o be_v he_o now_o say_v to_o judge_v and_o over_o all_o these_o have_v he_o absolute_a power_n of_o correction_n chap._n 24._o he_o allegorize_v upon_o increase_n and_o multiply_v 1._o but_o what_o be_v this_o now_o and_o what_o kind_n of_o mystery_n behold_v thou_o bless_v mankind_n o_o lord_n that_o they_o may_v increase_v and_o multiply_v and_o replenish_v the_o earth_n do_v thou_o not_o give_v we_o a_o privy_a hint_n to_o learn_v something_o by_o why_o do_v thou_o not_o aswell_o bless_v the_o light_n which_o thou_o call_v day_n or_o the_o firmament_n of_o heaven_n or_o the_o light_n or_o the_o star_n or_o the_o earth_n or_o the_o sea_n i_o may_v say_v o_o god_n that_o create_v we_o after_o thy_o own_o image_n i_o may_v say_v that_o it_o have_v be_v thy_o good_a pleasure_n to_o have_v bestow_v this_o blessing_n peculiar_o upon_o man_n have_v thou_o not_o in_o likemane_a bless_v the_o fish_n and_o the_o whale_n that_o they_o also_o shall_v increase_v and_o multiply_v and_o replenish_v the_o water_n of_o the_o sea_n and_o that_o the_o fowl_n shall_v be_v multiply_v upon_o the_o earth_n i_o may_v say_v likewise_o that_o this_o blessing_n pertain_v proper_o unto_o those_o creature_n as_o be_v breed_v of_o their_o own_o kind_n have_v i_o find_v it_o give_v to_o the_o fruit-tree_n and_o plant_n and_o beast_n of_o the_o earth_n he_o but_o neither_o unto_o the_o herb_n nor_o the_o tree_n nor_o the_o beast_n or_o serpeuts_o be_v it_o say_v increase_v and_o multiply_v notwithstanding_o that_o all_o these_o as_o well_o as_o the_o fish_n fowl_n or_o man_n do_v by_o generation_n both_o increase_n and_o continue_v their_o kind_n 2._o what_o then_o shall_v i_o say_v to_o it_o o_o thou_o truth_n my_o light_n shall_v i_o say_v that_o it_o several_a language_n in_o how_o innumerable_a phrase_n
of_o speak_v it_o be_v corporeal_o express_v and_o thus_o do_v this_o fry_n of_o the_o water_n increase_v and_o multiply_v observe_v again_o reader_n who_o ever_o thou_o be_v behold_v i_o say_v that_o which_o the_o scripture_n deliver_v and_o the_o voice_n pronounce_v one_o only_a way_n in_o the_o beginning_n god_n create_v heaven_n &_o earth_n be_v it_o not_o understand_v many_o a_o several_a way_n not_o with_o the_o any_o deceit_n of_o error_n but_o in_o several_a kind_n of_o very_o true_a sense_n thus_o do_v man_v of_o spring_n increase_n and_o multiply_v 4._o if_o therefore_o we_o can_v conceive_v of_o the_o nature_n of_o thing_n not_o allegorical_o but_o proper_o then_o may_v the_o phrase_n increase_v and_o multiply_v very_o well_o agree_v unto_o all_o thing_n whatsoever_o that_o come_v of_o any_o kind_n of_o seed_n but_o if_o we_o entreat_v of_o the_o word_n as_o figurative_o speak_v which_o i_o rather_o suppose_v to_o be_v the_o purpose_n of_o the_o scripture_n which_o do_v author_n who_o have_v be_v the_o minister_n of_o the_o law_n unto_o we_o as_o in_o the_o firmament_n which_o be_v settle_v betwixt_o the_o high_a and_o the_o low_a water_n and_o in_o the_o society_n of_o people_n yet_o in_o the_o bitterness_n of_o infidelity_n as_o in_o the_o sea_n and_o in_o the_o study_n of_o holy_a soul_n as_o in_o the_o dry_a land_n and_o in_o the_o work_n of_o mercy_n do_v in_o this_o life_n as_o in_o the_o herb_n bear_v seed_n and_o in_o the_o fruitful_a tree_n and_o in_o spiritual_a gift_n shine_v forth_o for_o our_o edification_n as_o in_o the_o light_n of_o heaven_n and_o in_o man_n affection_n reform_v unto_o temperance_n as_o in_o the_o live_a soul_n in_o all_o these_o instance_n we_o meet_v with_o multitude_n abundance_n and_o increase_v 5._o but_o that_o such_o a_o increase_n and_o multiply_a shall_v come_v as_o that_o one_o thing_n may_v be_v understand_v and_o express_v many_o way_n and_o one_o of_o those_o expression_n understand_v several_a way_n too_o we_o do_v no_o where_o find_v except_o in_o word_n corporeal_o express_v and_o in_o thing_n intelligible_o divide_v by_o these_o word_n corporeal_o pronounce_v we_o understand_v the_o generation_n of_o the_o water_n and_o that_o for_o the_o necessary_a cause_n of_o fleshly_a profundity_n by_o these_o thing_n intelligible_o divide_v we_o understand_v humane_a generation_n and_o that_o for_o the_o fruitfulness_n of_o their_o reason_n and_o even_o therefore_o we_o believe_v thou_o lord_n to_o have_v say_v to_o both_o these_o kind_n increase_v and_o multiply_v for_o that_o
