every_o unrighteous_a and_o covetous_a mind_a man_n be_v shut_v out_o from_o enter_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n nay_o though_o he_o may_v be_v outward_o righteous_a as_o be_v one_o in_o christ_n day_n when_o he_o say_v it_o be_v easy_a for_o a_o camel_n to_o go_v through_o the_o eye_n of_o a_o needle_n than_o for_o a_o rich_a man_n to_o enter_v the_o kingdom_n heaven_n which_o be_v for_o to_o be_v spiritual_o mind_v be_v life_n and_o peace_n which_o thing_n ought_v by_o all_o man_n to_o be_v due_o consider_v before_o time_n be_v no_o more_o for_o as_o death_n leave_v so_o judgement_n find_v and_o in_o the_o grave_a they_o can_v repent_v but_o these_o thing_n be_v not_o regard_v nor_o mind_v among_o many_o therefore_o be_v it_o write_v the_o fool_n have_v say_v in_o his_o heart_n there_o be_v no_o god_n which_o though_o in_o word_n he_o acknowledge_v god_n yet_o the_o bent_n of_o his_o covetous_a mind_n draw_v the_o heart_n from_o retain_v god_n in_o its_o thought_n that_o such_o man_n live_v without_o god_n in_o the_o world_n for_o by_o their_o deed_n they_o manifest_v the_o same_o therefore_o be_v it_o that_o there_o be_v no_o true_a save_a knowledge_n of_o god_n to_o they_o and_o in_o this_o state_n be_v all_o covetous_a man_n among_o who_o many_o be_v they_o that_o have_v take_v upon_o they_o the_o name_n of_o god_n and_o christ_n who_o word_n they_o have_v steal_v who_o through_o covetousness_n make_v it_o their_o trade_n to_o gain_v money_n by_o this_o be_v also_o contrary_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o not_o at_o all_o according_a to_o the_o example_n of_o his_o holy_a one_o who_o covet_v no_o man_n silver_n nor_o gold_n but_o free_o receive_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o as_o good_a steward_n of_o his_o manifold_a grace_n they_o free_o break_v their_o bread_n from_o house_n to_o house_n with_o singleness_n and_o gladness_n of_o heart_n rejoice_v in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n who_o word_n they_o divide_v to_o every_o one_o his_o portion_n without_o money_n or_o price_n labour_v with_o their_o hand_n for_o their_o maintenance_n that_o they_o may_v not_o make_v the_o gospel_n chargeable_a to_o any_o and_o woe_n be_v to_o he_o that_o do_v not_o preach_v the_o gospel_n without_o reward_n from_o man_n because_o the_o promise_n of_o he_o that_o take_v care_n for_o bird_n of_o the_o air_n and_o beast_n of_o the_o field_n who_o be_v it_o among_o man_n that_o regard_n or_o mind_n these_o thing_n be_v not_o the_o love_n of_o money_n which_o be_v the_o root_n of_o all_o evil_a that_o which_o be_v most_o belove_a among_o man_n and_o again_o covetousness_n be_v of_o lust_n such_o a_o devil_n that_o contrive_v and_o join_v so_o close_a and_o fast_o to_o the_o mind_n of_o man_n that_o some_o have_v lose_v their_o life_n by_o sorrow_n for_o worldly_a good_n for_o a_o covetous_a mâ—n_z can_v meet_v with_o no_o great_a sorrow_n than_o to_o part_v with_o that_o in_o which_o his_o love_n do_v most_o abide_v for_o above_o all_o other_o thing_n that_o which_o a_o man_n do_v most_o love_n to_o delight_v his_o mind_n in_o that_o be_v to_o he_o his_o godd_n therefore_o be_v it_o that_o bear_v outside_n christian_n be_v so_o entangle_v with_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n for_o where_o the_o treasure_n be_v there_o be_v the_o heart_n also_o and_o yet_o extreme_a righteous_a as_o towards_o the_o law_n of_o man_n which_o often_o be_v extreme_a wrong_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n because_o a_o covetous_a man_n take_v the_o opportunity_n to_o enrich_v himself_o by_o
another_o man_n necessity_n whereby_o the_o borrower_n rather_o become_v a_o slave_n than_o a_o servant_n to_o the_o lender_n who_o through_o covetousness_n can_v in_o no_o wise_n sympathize_v nor_o participate_v with_o his_o friend_n or_o neighbour_n in_o loss_n or_o cross_v whatever_o because_o the_o affectionate_a part_n be_v only_o to_o self_n so_o as_o covetousness_n can_v do_v no_o good_a work_n to_o itself_o neither_o can_v it_o do_v that_o which_o be_v proper_o good_a to_o another_o therefore_o be_v it_o not_o safe_a to_o be_v too_o far_o concern_v with_o the_o god_n of_o any_o covetous_a usurer_n for_o as_o it_o whole_o tend_v to_o the_o destruction_n of_o the_o soul_n of_o he_o that_o bind_v so_o it_o also_o tend_v to_o impoverish_v he_o that_o be_v bind_v for_o the_o lust_n of_o a_o covetous_a man_n namely_o the_o devil_n his_o idol_n and_o god_n will_v never_o suffer_v the_o rust_n and_o canker_n to_o feed_v upon_o his_o money_n nor_o the_o mote_n to_o devour_v his_o good_n more_o than_o to_o supply_v the_o necessity_n of_o any_o man_n without_o interest_n so_o that_o the_o mercy_n and_o pity_n of_o a_o covetous_a man_n be_v plain_a cruelty_n not_o only_o to_o his_o own_o soul_n but_o also_o to_o the_o body_n of_o other_o who_o be_v concern_v with_o the_o idol_n or_o god_n of_o a_o covetous_a man_n who_o mind_n be_v always_o bend_v towards_o the_o enlarge_n of_o his_o idol_n therefore_o he_o take_v the_o opportunity_n of_o every_o advantage_n by_o bill_n bond_n mortgage_n and_o the_o like_a to_o enrich_v himself_o with_o those_o thing_n which_o will_v perish_v with_o he_o except_o he_o repent_v and_o of_o this_o nature_n by_o opportunity_n through_o advantage_n of_o another_o man_n necessity_n do_v man_n enrich_v and_o impoverish_v one_o another_o so_o that_o oppression_n among_o man_n be_v like_a to_o a_o sweep_a rain_n which_o drive_v all_o from_o one_o man_n into_o the_o bound_n and_o possession_n of_o another_o through_o which_o many_o man_n be_v enlarge_v with_o mountain_n hill_n and_o valley_n when_o many_o have_v not_o whereon_o to_o set_v their_o foot_n and_o of_o this_o nature_n be_v it_o that_o covetousness_n lead_v to_o usury_n oppression_n and_o the_o like_o which_o have_v divide_v the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n and_o be_v the_o only_a portion_n of_o every_o covetous_a proud_a and_o vain_a man_n which_o do_v not_o forsake_v and_o repent_v of_o all_o his_o evil_a deed_n and_o covet_v after_o the_o better_a part_n unto_o which_o be_v the_o promise_n of_o add_v all_o thing_n needful_a therefore_o be_v it_o what_o the_o law_n require_v of_o he_o to_o do_v so_o also_o be_v they_o accurse_v which_o refuse_v to_o hear_v and_o obey_v the_o voice_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n who_o gift_n of_o divine_a light_n be_v the_o condemnation_n of_o every_o covetous_a man_n thought_n word_n and_o work_n so_o that_o covetousness_n be_v of_o no_o profit_n to_o any_o man_n that_o gain_v the_o riches_n of_o this_o world_n with_o the_o loss_n of_o his_o soul_n but_o godliness_n with_o content_a be_v great_a gain_n to_o they_o that_o fear_v god_n work_v righteousness_n do_v just_o love_v mercy_n walk_v humble_o and_o do_v no_o other_o thing_n to_o other_o than_o as_o themselves_o will_v be_v do_v unto_o yet_o notwithstanding_o this_o and_o whatever_o else_o be_v write_v in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n against_o covetousness_n how_o do_v man_n daily_o nourish_v and_o cherish_v it_o as_o if_o it_o be_v a_o godd_n of_o such_o a_o nature_n and_o life_n as_o to_o abide_v with_o they_o forever_o therefore_o be_v they_o so_o choice_a of_o this_o lust_n of_o unrighteousness_n that_o for_o its_o sin_n they_o provide_v the_o large_a cloak_n for_o of_o all_o other_o sin_n covetousness_n be_v most_o in_o credit_n among_o the_o son_n of_o man_n therefore_o they_o will_v not_o let_v this_o devil_n go_v naked_a but_o clothe_v it_o with_o credible_a name_n not_o as_o sin_v or_o vile_a but_o as_o thrift_n provident_a good_a care_n of_o a_o man_n own_o and_o care_n of_o the_o main_a chance_n and_o not_o only_o so_o but_o will_v protect_v and_o defend_v it_o with_o scripture_n word_n viz._n he_o that_o provide_v not_o for_o his_o own_o house_n be_v worse_a than_o a_o idfidel_n and_o have_v deny_v the_o faith_n therefore_o as_o god_n direct_v be_v my_o labour_n to_o uncloak_v and_o lay_v open_a this_o lust_n devil_n and_o sin_n of_o covetousness_n which_o abide_v in_o the_o wise_a and_o prudent_a of_o this_o world_n who_o through_o covet_v after_o money_n the_o love_n of_o which_o be_v the_o root_n of_o all_o evil_a in_o they_o that_o will_v neither_o enter_v the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n nor_o suffer_v other_o which_o be_v enter_v to_o go_v therein_o which_o do_v manifest_v their_o covetousness_n to_o exclude_v all_o love_n and_o fear_n to_o god_n and_o all_o love_n and_o pity_n to_o their_o neighbour_n good_a nay_o what_o sin_n be_v it_o that_o covetousness_n lead_v man_n not_o to_o commit_v it_o lead_v they_o that_o be_v covetous_a to_o oppress_v cousin_n deceive_v lie_v and_o sell_v their_o conscience_n for_o every_o trifle_n also_o it_o lead_v man_n to_o turn_v from_o the_o faith_n betray_v the_o truth_n sell_v it_o for_o money_n and_o to_o hold_v the_o truth_n in_o unrighteousness_n it_o lead_v man_n to_o forsake_v all_o good_a religion_n to_o turn_v persecutor_n which_o be_v the_o great_a oppression_n that_o can_v be_v for_o it_o sweep_v away_o the_o life_n and_o estate_n of_o many_o man_n it_o lead_v man_n to_o wait_v as_o troop_n of_o robber_n to_o kill_v and_o destroy_v by_o the_o consent_n of_o unrighteous_a law_n which_o have_v be_v make_v by_o covetous_a usurer_n and_o i_o may_v say_v covetousness_n not_o only_o lead_v man_n to_o kill_v and_o steal_v by_o the_o highway_n but_o to_o rob_v god_n of_o his_o honour_n by_o steal_v his_o word_n which_o he_o speak_v by_o the_o mouth_n of_o his_o holy_a one_o who_o word_n they_o sell_v for_o money_n each_o look_v for_o his_o gain_n from_o his_o quarter_n which_o if_o any_o man_n refuse_v to_o pay_v open_a war_n be_v prepare_v against_o he_o and_o of_o this_o and_o the_o like_a nature_n do_v covetousness_n lead_v man_n to_o sin_n against_o god_n even_o to_o the_o destroy_n of_o their_o peace_n with_o he_o for_o to_o the_o wicked_a there_o be_v no_o true_a peace_n in_o this_o life_n nor_o in_o the_o life_n to_o come_v covetousness_n be_v one_o of_o the_o chief_a gate_n and_o inlet_n to_o the_o broad_a way_n of_o death_n hell_n and_o destruction_n and_o be_v so_o delightful_a and_o well-pleasing_a that_o many_o be_v lead_v thereby_o into_o all_o manner_n of_o abomination_n even_o to_o rebel_v against_o god_n and_o king_n and_o to_o change_v the_o form_n of_o worship_n at_o every_o change_n in_o government_n in_o short_a it_o lead_v parent_n to_o destroy_v their_o child_n and_o child_n to_o destroy_v their_o parent_n also_o it_o lead_v man_n to_o lie_v and_o swear_v and_o to_o hold_v the_o the_o truth_n in_o unrighteousness_n and_o to_o pervert_v the_o truth_n thereby_o to_o turn_v the_o cause_n of_o the_o fatherless_a and_o widow_n therefore_o let_v all_o man_n beware_v of_o covet_v after_o that_o which_o god_n have_v forbid_v for_o while_o some_o have_v beên_o covet_v after_o riches_n they_o have_v err_v from_o the_o faith_n and_o pierce_v themselves_o be_v rich_a be_v pierce_v through_o with_o many_o sorrow_n for_o it_o be_v write_v they_o that_o will_v be_v rich_a fall_v into_o many_o temptation_n and_o a_o snare_n and_o many_o foolish_a and_o
