all_o other_o in_o the_o fervency_n of_o prayer_n yet_o nevertheless_o he_o do_v not_o neglect_v the_o prayer_n of_o the_o faithful_a with_o the_o which_o the_o lord_n will_v have_v we_o holpen_v we_o in_o like_a manner_n after_o his_o example_n ought_v always_o to_o require_v this_o help_n and_o to_o stir_v up_o the_o faithful_a to_o pray_v for_o us._n for_o there_o be_v nothing_o more_o available_a with_o god_n then_o faithful_a prayer_n that_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n may_v have_v free_a passage_n for_o two_o cause_n the_o prayer_n of_o the_o church_n be_v here_o require_v of_o the_o apostle_n the_o first_o be_v for_o the_o happy_a success_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o the_o same_o be_v preach_v to_o other_o nation_n may_v be_v no_o less_o esteem_v than_o it_o be_v of_o the_o thessalonian_o therefore_o by_o these_o word_n paul_n show_v that_o he_o have_v not_o so_o much_o care_n and_o consideration_n of_o himself_o as_o he_o have_v of_o the_o whole_a church_n for_o why_o do_v he_o desire_v to_o be_v commend_v to_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o thessalonian_o that_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n may_v have_v his_o course_n therefore_o he_o will_v have_v they_o to_o have_v respect_v not_o so_o much_o to_o he_o alone_o as_o to_o the_o glory_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o common_a salvation_n of_o the_o church_n and_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v say_v to_o have_v free_a passage_n when_o in_o preach_v and_o in_o doctrine_n it_o have_v no_o let_v but_o happy_a success_n insomuch_o that_o many_o believe_v it_o and_o believe_v it_o do_v glorify_v god_n and_o be_v save_v and_o be_v glorify_v he_o desire_v that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n may_v have_v his_o force_n and_o efficacy_n to_o reform_v man_n into_o the_o image_n of_o god_n therefore_o holiness_n of_o life_n and_o integrity_n in_o christian_n be_v the_o beauty_n of_o the_o gospel_n even_o as_o they_o do_v bring_v infamy_n and_o slander_n to_o the_o gospel_n profess_v it_o with_o their_o mouth_n and_o live_v nevertheless_o filthylie_a and_o wicked_o 5.15_o mat._n 5.15_o to_o this_o end_n partaine_a the_o exhortation_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n of_o peter_n and_o of_o other_o 2.12_o 1._o pet._n 2.12_o in_o the_o new_a testament_n even_o as_o it_o be_v with_o you_o that_o be_v to_o say_v after_o the_o same_o manner_n form_n and_o happy_a success_n for_o this_o aught_o to_o be_v a_o great_a encouragement_n to_o the_o godly_a that_o they_o may_v see_v all_o other_o man_n like_v to_o themselves_o in_o godliness_n therefore_o they_o which_o be_v already_o enter_v into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v command_v to_o pray_v daily_o that_o the_o same_o kingdom_n may_v come_v so_o far_o off_o they_o ought_v to_o be_v from_o envy_n when_o they_o do_v hear_v that_o other_o be_v come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n 2_o and_o that_o we_o may_v be_v deliver_v from_o unreasonable_a and_o evil_a man_n for_o all_o man_n have_v not_o faith_n this_o be_v the_o latter_a cause_n why_o the_o apostle_n require_v the_o prayer_n of_o the_o faithful_a the_o truth_n indeed_o be_v preach_v but_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n there_o spring_v up_o diverse_a schism_n among_o they_o also_o which_o will_v seem_v to_o be_v the_o embracer_n of_o true_a religion_n and_o the_o public_a enemy_n of_o religion_n do_v both_o banish_v the_o truth_n and_o do_v also_o most_o cruel_o persecute_v they_o which_o be_v maintainer_n of_o the_o truth_n neither_o do_v there_o want_v certain_a hypocrite_n and_o false_a brethren_n which_o be_v worse_o &_o far_o more_o pestilent_a they_o they_o unto_o true_a godliness_n for_o it_o be_v true_o say_v that_o a_o counterfeit_a friend_n be_v much_o more_o hurtful_a than_o a_o open_a enemy_n wherefore_o paul_n desire_v to_o be_v deliver_v from_o such_o for_o by_o unreasonable_a and_o evil_a man_n he_o mean_v those_o which_o under_o the_o name_n of_o christian_n lurk_v in_o the_o church_n or_o else_o the_o jew_n which_o through_o a_o mad_a zeal_n of_o the_o law_n furious_o persecute_v the_o gospel_n for_o he_o know_v how_o great_a harm_n be_v like_a to_o come_v by_o they_o both_o and_o this_o say_n of_o the_o apostle_n may_v be_v extend_v to_o all_o manner_n of_o peril_n for_o then_o paul_n be_v go_v to_o jerusalem_n and_o do_v write_v be_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o his_o journey_n but_o it_o be_v already_o tell_v he_o from_o above_o that_o bond_n and_o persecution_n wait_v for_o he_o there_o 20.23_o act._n 20.23_o from_o the_o which_o he_o do_v desire_n to_o be_v so_o deliver_v that_o he_o may_v overcome_v whether_o it_o be_v by_o death_n or_o by_o life_n but_o now_o at_o this_o day_n the_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n have_v the_o pope_n and_o papist_n for_o their_o principal_a adversary_n which_o be_v in_o deed_n unreasonable_a and_o evil_a man_n which_o do_v hinder_v the_o course_n of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n with_o their_o accusation_n and_o do_v destroy_v so_o much_o as_o lie_v in_o they_o the_o fruit_n &_o glory_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n preach_v
