be_v so_o mighty_a and_o strong_a psal._n 103._o 20._o nor_o flee_v from_o they_o be_v so_o swift_a isa._n 6._o 2._o nor_o move_v with_o flattery_n and_o request_n they_o be_v so_o true_a unto_o their_o trust_n psal._n 103._o 21._o for_o in_o order_n to_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o one_o and_o terror_n of_o the_o other_o he_o show_v how_o christ_n shall_v come_v accompany_v with_o a_o glorious_a train_n of_o mighty_a angel_n 5._o even_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v in_o themselves_o most_o terrible_a and_o shall_v be_v so_o to_o godless_a reprobate_n at_o christ_n second_o come_v have_v in_o they_o matter_n of_o comfort_n and_o encouragement_n unto_o the_o godly_a and_o in_o particular_a those_o very_a flame_n which_o shall_v put_v those_o heaven_n and_o earth_n which_o now_o be_v all_o in_o a_o blaze_n and_o consequent_o shall_v prove_v a_o most_o terrible_a and_o sadn_v sight_n unto_o the_o wicked_a when_o all_o their_o delightsome_a idol_n be_v burn_v up_o and_o destroy_v before_o their_o eye_n and_o that_o flame_n of_o fiery_a wrath_n then_o kindle_v shall_v devour_v themselves_o unto_o all_o eternity_n even_o those_o terrible_a flame_n shall_v be_v a_o comfortable_a sight_n unto_o the_o godly_a yea_o and_o the_o fore-thought_n of_o they_o may_v and_o shall_v yield_v comfort_n to_o they_o under_o their_o present_a trouble_n as_o know_v that_o the_o more_o terrible_a that_o judgement_n be_v which_o do_v remain_v for_o their_o adversary_n the_o more_o be_v they_o both_o in_o their_o person_n and_o cause_n own_v by_o the_o lord_n for_o clear_v whereof_o he_o will_v give_v such_o evident_a proof_n of_o his_o wrath_n against_o all_o who_o will_v not_o favour_v they_o as_o he_o do_v for_o in_o order_n to_o their_o comfort_n he_o show_v that_o jesus_n the_o lord_n shall_v be_v reveal_v in_o flame_v fire_n ver._n 8._o take_v vengeance_n on_o they_o that_o know_v not_o god_n and_o that_o obey_v not_o the_o gospel_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ._n he_o describe_v the_o day_n of_o judgement_n second_o from_o a_o twofold_a end_n of_o christ_n come_v on_o it_o and_o joint_o clear_v that_o twofold_a retribution_n speak_v of_o v_o 6_o 7_o the_o first_o end_n relate_v to_o the_o wicked_a he_o shall_v come_v to_o take_v vengeance_n on_o they_o that_o be_v to_o proceed_v against_o they_o as_o a_o wrathful_a judge_n with_o all_o know_v of_o he_o 2._o all_o those_o among_o christian_n who_o though_o they_o have_v some_o knowledge_n of_o gospel-truth_n yet_o do_v not_o yield_v that_o subjection_n and_o obedience_n thereunto_o which_o be_v enjoin_v by_o it_o the_o greatness_n of_o which_o sin_n of_o disobedience_n to_o the_o gospel_n be_v hint_v at_o in_o this_o that_o the_o gospel_n be_v here_o call_v the_o gospel_n of_o live_v in_o their_o ignorance_n of_o god_n and_o disobedience_n to_o the_o gospel_n do_v not_o only_o wrong_v themselves_o and_o be_v indeed_o great_a enemy_n to_o their_o own_o mercy_n but_o do_v from_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o from_o his_o glorious_a power_n to_o wit_n joint_o and_o without_o intermission_n ver._n 10._o when_o he_o shall_v come_v to_o be_v glorify_v in_o his_o saint_n and_o to_o be_v admire_v in_o all_o they_o that_o believe_v because_o our_o testimony_n among_o you_o be_v believe_v in_o that_o day_n here_o be_v the_o second_o end_n of_o christ_n come_n purpose_n to_o put_v glory_n on_o his_o people_n take_v vengeance_n on_o they_o that_o know_v not_o god_n say_v he_o v_o 8._o when_o he_o shall_v come_v to_o be_v glorify_v in_o his_o saint_n 3._o the_o rest_n remain_v to_o the_o now_o afflict_a and_o trouble_a people_n of_o god_n be_v a_o glorious_a rest_n and_o therefore_o not_o a_o total_a cessation_n from_o all_o action_n and_o duty_n as_o clear_v the_o rest_n which_o be_v promise_v v_o 7._o say_v he_o shall_v come_v to_o be_v glorify_v in_o his_o saint_n 4._o though_o the_o glory_n of_o christ_n the_o judge_n will_v be_v ser_fw-mi forth_o to_o the_o admiration_n of_o all_o beholder_n in_o the_o pour_v forth_o of_o his_o wrath_n and_o vengeance_n upon_o godless_a reprobate_n his_o proud_a and_o obstinate_a enemy_n yet_o his_o glory_n will_v be_v incomparable_o more_o and_o more_o admire_v in_o his_o put_a glory_n upon_o the_o elect_n in_o so_o far_o as_o the_o reprobate_n shall_v receive_v but_o what_o they_o deserve_v but_o as_o for_o the_o elect_n beside_o the_o wonderful_a change_n which_o shall_v be_v wrought_v in_o they_o the_o glory_n put_v upon_o they_o shall_v be_v without_o yea_o and_o contrary_a to_o far_o as_o they_o stand_v not_o much_o upon_o the_o nature_n and_o kind_n of_o the_o mean_n they_o use_v whether_o they_o be_v right_a or_o wrong_n if_o so_o they_o can_v serve_v their_o present_a design_n for_o antichrist_n do_v use_v all_o deceiveableness_n of_o unrighteousness_n 3._o so_o tender_a be_v god_n of_o his_o people_n comfort_n that_o for_o the_o most_o part_n those_o scripture_n which_o terrify_v most_o be_v so_o contrive_v as_o to_o carry_v with_o they_o a_o antidote_n of_o comfort_n against_o hopeless_a discouragement_n in_o their_o bosom_n for_o this_o terrify_a scripture_n which_o speak_v of_o antichrist_n future_a success_n have_v in_o it_o a_o comfort_n to_o wit_n that_o his_o power_n and_o success_n be_v limit_v only_o to_o reprobate_n even_o they_o that_o perish_v 4._o though_o even_o the_o godly_a elect_a may_v be_v seduce_v to_o error_n for_o a_o time_n phil._n 3._o 15._o yet_o they_o can_v arrive_v at_o such_o a_o height_n of_o malicious_a
