there_o be_v these_o two_o thing_n against_o it_o first_o secret_a thing_n belong_v to_o god_n second_o no_o eye_n have_v see_v what_o be_v do_v in_o heaven_n and_o if_o eye_n have_v not_o see_v it_o how_o shall_v i_o attain_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o it_o in_o answer_n to_o this_o temptation_n know_v and_o consider_v that_o many_o of_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n have_v attain_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n eternal_a love_n and_o have_v rise_v to_o this_o assurance_n that_o the_o lord_n have_v love_v and_o will_v love_v with_o a_o everlasting_a love_n the_o apostle_n paul_n do_v wait_v upon_o god_n and_o seek_v for_o assurance_n but_o i_o have_v not_o attain_v it_o and_o therefore_o i_o be_o ready_a to_o conclude_v sure_o the_o lord_n have_v not_o love_v i_o other_o seek_v and_o they_o have_v attain_v and_o have_v assurance_n i_o have_v seek_v and_o i_o can_v meet_v with_o assurance_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o certain_o the_o lord_n have_v not_o love_v i_o i_o answer_v to_o this_o temptation_n know_v that_o thou_o can_v not_o conclude_v that_o god_n have_v not_o call_v thou_o effectual_o because_o thou_o have_v not_o assurance_n and_o if_o have_v not_o ask_v a_o sign_n you_o have_v hear_v of_o that_o woman_n that_o sometime_o live_v in_o cambridge_n that_o be_v many_o year_n in_o a_o tempt_a condition_n and_o be_v sore_o afflict_v one_o day_n she_o take_v up_o a_o glass_n in_o her_o hand_n and_o cast_v it_o against_o the_o ground_n with_o this_o expression_n i_o be_o as_o sure_o damn_v as_o this_o glass_n be_v break_v and_o it_o please_v god_n so_o to_o order_v it_o that_o the_o glass_n be_v not_o break_v which_o be_v to_o the_o conviction_n of_o her_o unbelief_n i_o say_v the_o lord_n may_v give_v a_o sign_n yea_o when_o will_n of_o god_n be_v god_n himself_o and_o therefore_o the_o purpose_n of_o god_n can_v be_v no_o more_o unchangeable_a than_o god_n himself_o so_o that_o you_o see_v there_o be_v a_o election_n and_o this_o election_n be_v of_o grace_n that_o be_v the_o first_o particular_a the_o second_o particular_a which_o i_o shall_v but_o touch_v be_v that_o this_o election_n may_v be_v know_v by_o comfort_n when_o they_o do_v know_v their_o election_n yet_o you_o must_v not_o begin_v with_o election_n but_o know_v that_o you_o must_v walk_v by_o god_n reveal_v will_n and_o look_v to_o god_n the_o reveal_v will_n of_o god_n so_o long_o as_o a_o man_n be_v in_o the_o state_n of_o unbelief_n it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o he_o shall_v know_v what_o god_n have_v decree_v concern_v he_o therefore_o do_v not_o begin_v at_o election_n this_o be_v for_o a_o man_n to_o covet_v to_o set_v his_o foot_n upon_o the_o high_a step_n of_o the_o ladder_n before_o he_o set_v it_o upon_o low_a when_o a_o man_n be_v in_o his_o youth_n he_o do_v not_o know_v whether_o god_n have_v purpose_v old_a age_n for_o he_o and_o because_o he_o do_v not_o know_v it_o he_o be_v not_o discourage_v from_o as_o i_o say_v so_o i_o say_v again_o that_o there_o be_v no_o man_n that_o ever_o believe_v in_o jesus_n christ_n but_o he_o be_v save_v and_o therefore_o it_o be_v madness_n and_o folly_n for_o a_o
