one_o addict_v to_o a_o party_n but_o i_o say_v they_o will_v have_v their_o friendship_n as_o large_a as_o their_o lord_n and_o master_n since_o it_o be_v for_o his_o sake_n that_o they_o have_v any_o friend_n at_o all_o such_o be_v the_o affection_n which_o god_n spirit_n work_v in_o his_o people_n and_o with_o which_o they_o be_v possess_v so_o far_o as_o they_o be_v frame_v and_o mould_v by_o his_o spirit_n but_o moreover_o the_o charity_n requisite_a in_o communicant_n consist_v not_o only_o in_o a_o cordial_a love_n to_o the_o godly_a who_o they_o be_v to_o reckon_v upon_o as_o dear_a friend_n but_o also_o in_o forgiveness_n of_o injury_n to_o all_o that_o be_v their_o enemy_n and_o have_v do_v or_o endeavour_v to_o do_v they_o wrong_n which_o temper_n be_v of_o flat_a necessity_n to_o all_o that_o will_v come_v worthy_o to_o this_o ordinance_n hither_o man_n come_v expect_v a_o pardon_n and_o can_v he_o look_v for_o a_o pardon_n of_o his_o many_o and_o heinous_a sin_n from_o the_o great_a god_n of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n who_o will_v not_o forgive_v some_o small_a offence_n that_o he_o may_v have_v receive_v from_o his_o fellow-creature_n small_a i_o say_v such_o unsufferable_a injury_n that_o by_o all_o mean_v we_o must_v seek_v to_o be_v revenge_v sure_o such_o a_o wicked_a spirit_n can_v enter_v into_o the_o breast_n of_o a_o christian_a that_o remember_v what_o he_o have_v do_v against_o god_n and_o yet_o what_o he_o expect_v from_o he_o and_o what_o he_o have_v already_o receive_v and_o indeed_o there_o be_v nothing_o more_o likely_a to_o bring_v we_o to_o the_o performance_n of_o this_o duty_n to_o our_o brother_n than_o the_o serious_a consideration_n of_o the_o infinite_a mercy_n god_n have_v show_v to_o we_o in_o send_v his_o son_n more_o full_o show_v how_o the_o consideration_n of_o christ_n death_n may_v bring_v we_o to_o true_a repentance_n and_o what_o i_o there_o speak_v chief_o of_o a_o change_n of_o state_n may_v be_v apply_v to_o the_o particular_a exercise_n of_o repentance_n wherefore_o i_o shall_v insist_v no_o more_o on_o this_o only_o let_v i_o meet_v with_o a_o objection_n that_o may_v perhaps_o be_v in_o the_o mind_n of_o some_o namely_o that_o sorrow_n for_o sin_n at_o this_o time_n scarce_o seem_v consistent_a with_o that_o hope_v of_o mercy_n that_o joy_n and_o thankfulness_n which_o be_v chief_o require_v in_o the_o communicant_a know_v therefore_o that_o i_o press_v no_o sorrow_n but_o what_o be_v a_o preparation_n to_o joy_n and_o do_v even_o animate_v and_o exalt_v it_o whilst_o the_o humble_a christian_a reflect_v upon_o his_o own_o nothingnesse_n and_o unworthiness_n and_o thence_o be_v carry_v forth_o to_o the_o great_a admiration_n of_o that_o mercy_n that_o have_v so_o and_o upon_o our_o return_n to_o he_o be_v so_o ready_o reconcile_v to_o retain_v this_o apprehension_n of_o love_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o our_o mourning_n will_v make_v they_o most_o ingenuous_a it_o not_o enough_o to_o be_v able_a to_o say_v the_o bare_a word_n to_o repeat_v your_o creed_n without_o book_n or_o the_o like_a but_o labour_v well_o to_o understand_v they_o and_o fix_v they_o deep_o upon_o your_o mind_n as_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v of_o great_a necessity_n to_o be_v know_v and_o remember_v of_o any_o in_o the_o world_n but_o yet_o bare_o to_o know_v and_o remember_v they_o will_v not_o profit_v you_o except_o you_o so_o digest_v and_o improve_v they_o that_o they_o move_v your_o affection_n and_o guide_v you_o in_o your_o conversation_n it_o be_v a_o most_o lamentable_a mistake_n to_o think_v that_o the_o mere_a say_n of_o what_o you_o believe_v and_o what_o you_o be_v to_o do_v will_v save_v your_o soul_n as_o if_o there_o be_v some_o strange_a force_n in_o the_o very_a word_n which_o will_v make_v they_o useful_a to_o all_o that_o shall_v patter_v they_o over_o for_o by_o this_o mean_v a_o parrot_n may_v pass_v for_o a_o good_a christian._n if_o desirous_a of_o this_o above_o all_o thing_n that_o god_n for_o his_o son_n sake_n will_v pardon_v and_o save_v you_o yea_o more_o than_o that_o be_v you_o not_o sincere_o willing_a that_o christ_n shall_v rule_v in_o your_o heart_n and_o guide_v you_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o frame_v you_o according_a to_o his_o will_n do_v you_o not_o account_v his_o command_n holy_a just_a and_o good_a and_o do_v you_o not_o desire_v strength_n from_o he_o your_o head_n to_o obey_v they_o and_o to_o conquer_v all_o temptation_n from_o within_o and_o without_o that_o will_v draw_v you_o aside_o do_v you_o long_o to_o be_v free_v from_o you_o have_v no_o sin_n that_o make_v you_o unfit_a for_o the_o sacrament_n nay_o more_o this_o your_o sense_n of_o sin_n make_v you_o right_o fit_v for_o it_o and_o then_o there_o be_v less_o ground_n of_o doubt_n as_o to_o the_o fear_n and_o sadness_n you_o may_v labour_v under_o or_o any_o temptation_n with_o which_o you_o be_v trouble_v you_o can_v sure_o be_v so_o weak_a as_o to_o think_v yourselves_o upon_o any_o of_o these_o account_n unmeet_a for_o your_o lord_n table_n for_o you_o must_v remember_v he_o never_o make_v this_o the_o qualification_n of_o his_o guest_n that_o they_o shall_v come_v want_v nothing_o but_o he_o call_v hither_o the_o necessitous_a to_o supply_v their_o want_n you_o come_v not_o hither_o only_o to_o be_v thankful_a for_o what_o you_o have_v receive_v but_o to_o receive_v far_o what_o your_o soul_n stand_v in_o need_n of_o you_o will_v think_v he_o argue_v at_o a_o very_a silly_a rate_n that_o shall_v tell_v you_o you_o must_v not_o go_v to_o a_o feast_n till_o your_o hunger_n be_v satisfy_v nor_o come_v to_o the_o fire_n till_o you_o be_v warm_a and_o yet_o no_o better_o be_v the_o sophistry_n of_o satan_n whereby_o he_o will_v persuade_v you_o that_o whilst_o you_o feel_v so_o many_o imperfection_n cleave_v to_o you_o and_o lie_v under_o such_o great_a doubt_n you_o must_v stay_v away_o from_o the_o sacrament_n when_o as_o this_o be_v one_o mean_v appoint_v by_o god_n for_o your_o relief_n here_o be_v both_o physic_n and_o food_n administer_v to_o the_o sick_a and_o faint_a and_o god_n may_v take_v this_o season_n of_o reveal_v himself_o to_o you_o and_o satisfy_v those_o doubt_n which_o you_o can_v no_o other_o way_n get_v rid_v of_o thus_o have_v it_o be_v with_o many_o a_o soul_n why_o may_v it_o not_o be_v so_o with_o you_o
