wave_n thus_o far_o may_v you_o swell_v but_o no_o further_o the_o devil_n may_v touch_v job_n good_n his_o cattle_n and_o his_o child_n but_o his_o life_n he_o must_v not_o and_o he_o keep_v touch_v not_o out_o of_o any_o desire_n the_o devil_n have_v to_o preserve_v one_o or_o any_o wicked_a person_n but_o will_v devour_v all_o and_o ruin_n all_o and_o therefore_o wonder_v wicked_a man_n at_o god_n goodness_n in_o your_o preservation_n and_o your_o friend_n cruelty_n in_o seek_v your_o ruin_n and_o destruction_n for_o the_o devil_n be_v our_o adversary_n though_o wicked_a man_n suppose_a friend_n and_o he_o go_v about_o continual_o like_o a_o roar_a lion_n seek_v who_o he_o may_v devour_v who_o will_v then_o be_v a_o slave_n to_o satan_n to_o who_o though_o we_o be_v so_o willing_a to_o obey_v yet_o if_o god_n do_v not_o restrain_v he_o he_o will_v destroy_v we_o and_o this_o be_v all_o the_o comfort_n a_o wicked_a man_n can_v have_v in_o all_o his_o sweet_n of_o sin_n that_o though_o he_o please_v the_o devil_n and_o please_v himself_o but_o displease_v god_n yet_o consider_v do_v not_o thy_o displease_a god_n restrain_v thy_o content_a devil_n he_o will_v cut_v thy_o throat_n every_o moment_n and_o who_o will_v be_v a_o slave_n unto_o such_o a_o slave_n or_o rather_o who_o will_v not_o fear_v and_o serve_v such_o a_o god_n who_o daily_o preserve_v and_o also_o restrain_v notwithstanding_o thy_o daily_a and_o such_o notorious_a provocation_n may_v not_o the_o lord_n say_v i_o will_v avenge_v myself_o of_o these_o my_o adversary_n and_o wrath_n take_v they_o and_o devil_n take_v they_o but_o instead_o of_o this_o he_o bridle_v up_o satan_n and_o instead_o of_o wrath_n he_o pour_v down_o mercy_n and_o preservation_n and_o why_o shall_v not_o kindness_n melt_v we_o and_o mercy_n overcome_v we_o the_o saint_n indeed_o may_v comfort_v themselves_o in_o this_o that_o though_o satan_n desire_v to_o winnow_v they_o like_o wheat_n yet_o christ_n pray_v and_o have_v promise_v luke_n 21._o 18._o not_o a_o hair_n of_o your_o head_n shall_v perish_v they_o may_v indeed_o be_v pull_v off_o by_o persecution_n but_o lose_v they_o can_v be_v for_o he_o it_o 2._o i_o shall_v give_v you_o some_o aggravation_n of_o the_o doctrine_n 3._o some_o brief_a application_n and_o so_o conclude_v chap._n vii_o wherein_o the_o doctrine_n be_v explain_v and_o obedience_n compare_v betwixt_o man_n and_o devil_n 1._o for_o the_o explanation_n of_o the_o doctrine_n that_o many_o man_n obedience_n be_v not_o so_o good_a as_o the_o devil_n be_v i_o shall_v compare_v the_o way_n and_o practice_n of_o man_n with_o the_o way_n and_o practice_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o let_v we_o in_o the_o hear_n of_o it_o or_o the_o read_n bring_v forth_o conscience_n to_o judge_v the_o difference_n for_o to_o that_o i_o shall_v now_o and_o then_o appeal_v unto_o to_o clear_v the_o point_n in_o hand_n before_o the_o judgement_n seat_n of_o god_n all_o man_n appear_v in_o two_o sort_n either_o sheep_n or_o goat_n godly_a or_o ungodly_a good_a or_o bad_a and_o the_o reason_n be_v because_o god_n judge_v like_o himself_o absolute_a judgement_n and_o we_o then_o shall_v say_v that_o god_n be_v righteous_a in_o all_o his_o way_n and_o just_a in_o all_o his_o judgement_n but_o now_o among_o ourselves_o as_o we_o be_v in_o this_o world_n and_o in_o our_o present_a be_v and_o practice_n we_o may_v judge_v three_o sort_n of_o person_n yea_o among_o they_o that_o do_v profess_v for_o christ_n you_o have_v such_o mixture_n and_o intermingling_n as_o special_a believer_n general_a professor_n and_o common_o profane_a person_n which_o be_v in_o a_o sort_n professor_n also_o as_o the_o apostle_n reduce_v all_o sin_n into_o that_o triplicite_a the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n the_o lust_n of_o the_o eye_n and_o the_o pride_n of_o life_n 1_o john_n 2._o 16._o so_o every_o man_n and_o woman_n may_v be_v bring_v into_o one_o or_o other_o of_o those_o three_o consideration_n i_o dare_v not_o compare_v you_o among_o yourselves_o by_o name_n but_o according_a to_o your_o several_a obedience_n i_o shall_v compare_v it_o both_o for_o quantity_n and_o quality_n and_o wager_v it_o to_o the_o text_n in_o hand_n and_o the_o instance_n therein_o mention_v which_o be_v the_o devil_n for_o though_o it_o be_v say_v that_o all_o the_o forementioned_a several_a sort_n of_o man_n do_v believe_v so_o do_v the_o devil_n and_o that_o with_o tremble_a the_o devil_n believe_v and_o tremble_v and_o because_o you_o shall_v not_o think_v i_o will_v be_v partial_a i_o shall_v instance_n in_o the_o first_o sort_n that_o i_o mention_v and_o do_v you_o that_o be_v either_o partial_a or_o impartial_a judge_n 1._o i_o shall_v call_v forth_o the_o obedience_n of_o true_a believer_n believer_n what_o say_v you_o you_o have_v true_a faith_n
