can_v like_v and_o approve_v of_o any_o thing_n better_o or_o as_o well_o as_o holiness_n thou_o have_v no_o power_n of_o godliness_n in_o thou_o if_o thou_o be_v ignorant_a what_o communion_n with_o god_n be_v and_o can_v not_o speak_v by_o experience_n what_o sweetness_n be_v in_o christ_n nor_o can_v prize_v it_o at_o a_o high_a rate_n because_o thou_o know_v not_o what_o it_o be_v nor_o the_o worth_n thereof_o if_o thou_o can_v not_o rest_v upon_o god_n in_o a_o straight_a but_o flee_v to_o the_o creature_n and_o use_v any_o indirect_a mean_n to_o deliver_v thyself_o or_o else_o thou_o sinke_v under_o thy_o affliction_n when_o thou_o place_v confidence_n in_o outward_a mean_n and_o forsake_v the_o god_n of_o life_n if_o thou_o have_v no_o love_n to_o god_n gospel_n the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o the_o saint_n nor_o see_v no_o excellency_n in_o they_o and_o yet_o have_v a_o eye_n to_o see_v and_o admire_v a_o excellency_n in_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n as_o in_o profit_n pleasure_n riches_n honour_n good_a bargain_n and_o such_o in_o which_o indeed_o no_o excellency_n be_v it_o be_v to_o be_v fear_v that_o there_o be_v not_o the_o least_o spark_n of_o godliness_n in_o thou_o if_o thou_o can_v be_v content_a to_o live_v and_o enjoy_v the_o world_n for_o ever_o with_o all_o that_o it_o can_v afford_v and_o in_o thy_o thought_n can_v wish_v that_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n be_v at_o thy_o command_n and_o that_o thou_o will_v willing_o take_v they_o for_o thy_o heaven_n and_o for_o thy_o portion_n that_o thou_o have_v rather_o have_v thy_o tabernacle_n here_o on_o earth_n then_o to_o enjoy_v the_o mansion_n of_o heaven_n that_o thou_o have_v rather_o associate_v and_o hold_v fellowship_n with_o the_o man_n of_o this_o world_n then_o be_v a_o companion_n to_o and_o with_o the_o bless_a saint_n and_o angel_n in_o heaven_n o_o this_o speak_v thou_o carnal_a this_o render_v thou_o worldly_a if_o man_n will_v but_o examine_v their_o heart_n and_o awake_v their_o benumb_a conscience_n it_o will_v be_v find_v to_o be_v the_o condition_n of_o million_o of_o man_n and_o woman_n in_o this_o world_n and_o it_o be_v for_o that_o they_o be_v of_o the_o earth_n and_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v with_o any_o acquaintance_n or_o familiarity_n with_o god_n or_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n for_o the_o natural_a man_n know_v not_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n for_o they_o be_v spiritual_o discern_v if_o thy_o thought_n and_o affection_n be_v set_v upon_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n in_o the_o general_a course_n of_o thy_o life_n so_o that_o the_o god_n of_o this_o world_n have_v take_v the_o whole_a possession_n of_o thy_o heart_n and_o have_v blind_v thy_o eye_n do_v but_o ask_v thy_o conscience_n what_o thy_o affection_n run_v after_o and_o what_o thy_o soul_n be_v most_o take_v up_o with_o if_o thou_o be_v a_o carnal_a wretch_n than_o it_o will_v speak_v pure_a world_n the_o first_o thing_n wherewith_o thy_o mind_n be_v agitate_a in_o the_o night_n when_o thou_o awake_v and_o in_o the_o morning_n when_o thou_o arise_v be_v what_o must_v i_o do_v this_o day_n where_o shall_v i_o first_o pitch_n upon_o my_o employment_n where_o shall_v i_o light_v upon_o a_o good_a bargain_n how_o shall_v i_o put_v off_o such_o and_o such_o a_o bad_a commodity_n what_o wile_n shall_v i_o use_v what_o stratagem_n shall_v i_o invent_v what_o way_n shall_v i_o go_v to_o work_v to_o pull_v a_o thorn_n out_o of_o my_o own_o foot_n and_o put_v it_o into_o my_o neighbour_n to_o advantage_n myself_o and_o overreach_v my_o friend_n to_o ease_v myself_o and_o burden_v other_o such_o as_o these_o will_v be_v thy_o soliloquy_n these_o will_v be_v thy_o reason_n and_o machination_n and_o have_v through_o these_o night-study_n accomplish_v thy_o end_n o_o how_o will_v thy_o heart_n rejoice_v o_o what_o a_o perfect_a man_n be_v thou_o in_o thy_o own_o wisdom_n thy_o only_o joy_n be_v in_o the_o increase_n of_o thy_o corn_n wine_n and_o oil_n but_o as_o for_o god_n christ_n and_o his_o way_n and_o for_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o spirit_n they_o be_v not_o at_o all_o in_o thy_o thought_n o_o this_o be_v a_o lamentable_a sign_n that_o thy_o portion_n be_v in_o this_o world_n and_o that_o thou_o have_v no_o part_n of_o that_o inheritance_n which_o be_v give_v to_o the_o saint_n if_o thou_o find_v a_o certain_a antipathy_n or_o opposition_n in_o thy_o spirit_n against_o those_o scripture_n or_o minister_n that_o meet_v with_o thy_o sin_n can_v thou_o wish_v that_o the_o scripture_n be_v all_o compliance_n to_o thy_o will_n will_v thou_o that_o god_n himself_o be_v not_o so_o holy_a as_o in_o his_o word_n he_o be_v hold_v forth_o to_o be_v and_o that_o there_o be_v less_o preach_v &_o more_o recreation_n than_o now_o there_o be_v on_o the_o lord_n day_n &_o other_o day_n will_v one_o sermon_n in_o a_o day_n yea_o in_o month_n please_v thou_o better_o if_o thou_o may_v have_v but_o
