we_o have_v familiar_a simile_n to_o illustrate_v this_o as_o that_o of_o a_o race_n wherein_o though_o but_o one_o shall_v certain_o enjoy_v the_o prize_n or_o laurel_n yet_o this_o do_v not_o god_n in_o the_o glorious_a manifestation_n of_o his_o exceed_o abundant_a grace_n but_o dazzle_v and_o doubt_n be_v there_o such_o a_o treasury_n of_o mercy_n for_o a_o sinner_n be_v there_o enough_o interruption_n and_o without_o any_o cessation_n for_o twenty_o thirty_o forty_o fifty_o year_n together_o be_v commit_v against_o many_o threaten_n warn_n example_n punishment_n yea_o and_o against_o many_o call_v of_o mercy_n and_o offer_v of_o grace_n which_o have_v they_o be_v accept_v in_o time_n there_o may_v have_v be_v some_o hope_n but_o you_o go_v on_o and_o multiply_v your_o transgression_n against_o all_o these_o therefore_o for_o such_o a_o multitude_n of_o sin_n no_o mercy_n will_v be_v find_v it_o be_v true_a that_o god_n have_v promise_v to_o pardon_v all_o the_o hint_v before_o the_o riches_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o great_a goodness_n and_o his_o heart_n of_o mercy_n to_o the_o very_a full_a and_o beside_o this_o he_o seal_v this_o part_n of_o his_o covenant_n with_o the_o same_o infallibility_n of_o truth_n and_o ratify_v it_o with_o the_o same_o blood_n of_o christ_n which_o though_o it_o respect_v the_o stablish_n of_o the_o whole_a covenant_n yet_o it_o be_v more_o frequent_o express_v to_o confirm_v the_o branch_n of_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n as_o you_o may_v see_v in_o mat._n 26._o 28._o ephes_n 1._o 7._o 1_o john_n 1_o 7._o rev._n 1._o 5._o etc._n etc._n that_o our_o faith_n may_v be_v the_o more_o strengthen_v and_o so_o give_v unto_o god_n the_o more_o glory_n in_o and_o for_o such_o a_o gracious_a truth_n and_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o one_o thing_n that_o what_o ground_n you_o have_v to_o believe_v that_o god_n will_v forgive_v you_o any_o one_o of_o your_o sin_n the_o very_a same_o you_o have_v to_o believe_v that_o he_o will_v forgive_v you_o all_o your_o sin_n and_o upon_o the_o same_o reason_n that_o you_o believe_v not_o the_o promise_n as_o to_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o all_o your_o sin_n upon_o the_o same_o reason_n you_o must_v deny_v belief_n of_o the_o promise_n as_o to_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o any_o one_o sin_n and_o so_o god_n lose_v all_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o rich_a mercy_n by_o your_o unbelief_n 2._o the_o peace_n of_o your_o own_o conscience_n for_o suppose_v you_o do_v believe_v that_o god_n will_v forgive_v some_o of_o your_o sin_n but_o some_o other_o of_o your_o sin_n he_o will_v not_o forgive_v can_v this_o partial_a forgiveness_n settle_v and_o quiet_v your_o conscience_n will_v they_o not_o hold_v you_o under_o as_o much_o fear_n and_o bondage_n as_o if_o not_o one_o of_o your_o sin_n be_v forgive_v sure_o it_o will_v because_o there_o be_v still_o in_o any_o unforgve_v sin_n so_o much_o guilt_n and_o merit_n as_o will_v serve_v effectual_o to_o the_o everlasting_a destruction_n of_o your_o soul_n and_o body_n 3._o the_o renew_n of_o you_o again_o to_o repentance_n and_o bring_v of_o you_o back_o again_o unto_o god_n for_o suppose_v you_o confine_v your_o faith_n to_o believe_v that_o god_n will_v pardon_v the_o sin_n which_o you_o have_v commit_v in_o time_n past_a and_o beyond_o this_o your_o faith_n will_v not_o stir_v tell_v i_o then_o i_o beseech_v you_o what_o will_v you_o do_v for_o the_o sin_n you_o have_v commit_v since_o conversion_n will_v you_o have_v they_o pardon_v or_o will_v you_o not_o have_v they_o pardon_v will_v you_o go_v on_o in_o they_o or_o will_v you_o forsake_v they_o will_v you_o still_o go_v away_o or_o will_v you_o return_v to_o your_o first_o husband_n sure_o you_o will_v have_v they_o pardon_v sure_o you_o will_v renew_v repentance_n and_o return_v to_o the_o lord_n your_o god_n but_o how_o can_v this_o be_v if_o you_o can_v or_o will_v not_o believe_v that_o god_n will_v forgive_v those_o sin_n as_o well_o as_o the_o former_a if_o you_o be_v persuade_v that_o forgive_a mercy_n be_v at_o a_o end_n and_o god_n have_v no_o more_o mercy_n to_o forgive_v any_o more_o sin_n i_o dare_v assure_v you_o that_o where_o the_o hope_n of_o mercy_n cease_v there_o the_o practice_n of_o repentance_n will_v cease_v but_o on_o the_o contrary_a when_o you_o can_v by_o faith_n see_v god_n if_o minister_n have_v more_o tenderness_n of_o heart_n they_o will_v in_o their_o place_n also_o give_v all_o diligence_n to_o make_v christ_n know_v and_o the_o truth_n of_o christ_n and_o contend_v for_o they_o and_o oppose_v man_n of_o corrupt_a mind_n and_o that_o which_o be_v antichrist_n indeed_o and_o they_o will_v exceed_o persuade_v and_o encourage_v even_o to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o to_o the_o love_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o to_o walk_v in_o all_o manner_n of_o holiness_n and_o godliness_n and_o they_o will_v reprove_v threaten_v warn_v and_o declare_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n against_o all_o sort_n of_o wickedness_n in_o all_o sort_n of_o man_n if_o parent_n and_o master_n of_o family_n have_v this_o tender_a heart_n they_o will_v not_o suffer_v ignorance_n and_o looseness_n in_o their_o dwelling_n but_o on_o the_o contrary_n will_v study_v and_o take_v pain_n to_o instruct_v and_o teach_v their_o child_n and_o servant_n and_o will_v reprove_v and_o correct_v etc._n etc._n how_o will_v they_o pray_v and_o strive_v on_o the_o behalf_n of_o knowledge_n and_o faith_n and_o holiness_n and_o fear_v of_o god_n and_o of_o walk_v with_o god_n very_o the_o whole_a land_n will_v in_o a_o short_a time_n be_v make_v a_o habitation_n of_o holiness_n a_o land_n flow_v with_o knowledge_n and_o fear_v of_o the_o lord_n have_v we_o more_o of_o this_o tenderness_n of_o heart_n which_o will_v undoubted_o make_v we_o more_o zealous_a and_o industrious_a for_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n 6._o it_o will_v be_v a_o special_a help_n unto_o steadfastness_n and_o perseverance_n to_o hold_v out_o and_o continue_v steadfastness_n it_o be_v a_o special_a help_n unto_o steadfastness_n to_o the_o end_n jer._n 32._o 40._o i_o will_v put_v my_o fear_n into_o their_o heart_n that_o they_o shall_v not_o depart_v from_o i_o as_o long_o as_o fear_n hold_v steadfastness_n do_v hold_v and_o as_o long_o as_o tenderness_n of_o heart_n continue_v
