be_v any_o great_a person_n in_o the_o congregation_n who_o will_v think_v the_o worse_a of_o they_o for_o use_v it_o to_o conclude_v this_o business_n i_o question_v not_o but_o it_o be_v both_o lawful_a and_o expedient_a to_o use_v the_o lord_n prayer_n as_o a_o prayer_n as_o well_o as_o a_o pattern_n but_o let_v not_o mr._n d._n too_o severe_o censure_v those_o who_o can_v as_o yet_o obtain_v leave_n of_o themselves_o to_o use_v it_o as_o a_o prayer_n especial_o at_o such_o time_n when_o they_o have_v before_o pray_v large_o both_o for_o themselves_o and_o other_o for_o where_o can_v he_o find_v a_o law_n make_v it_o our_o duty_n to_o use_v those_o word_n common_o call_v the_o lord_n prayer_n any_o otherwise_o than_o as_o a_o pattern_n and_o example_n of_o our_o prayer_n i_o know_v he_o somewhere_o produce_v the_o word_n of_o st._n luke_n when_o you_o pray_v say_v etc._n etc._n but_o be_v those_o word_n bring_v into_o the_o form_n of_o a_o syllogism_n it_o will_v not_o to_o the_o brownist_n themselves_o appear_v very_o formidable_a for_o they_o will_v ask_v what_o the_o word_n be_v that_o christ_n there_o command_v to_o use_v if_o it_o shall_v be_v answer_v they_o the_o word_n that_o follow_v in_o st._n luke_n gospel_n then_o will_v they_o reply_v that_o all_o who_o tie_v themselves_o to_o the_o use_n of_o our_o english_a liturgy_n will_v be_v transgressor_n of_o this_o law_n for_o no_o where_n in_o all_o the_o liturgy_n do_v the_o lord_n prayer_n occur_v as_o it_o be_v record_v in_o st._n luke_n gospel_n indeed_o the_o compiler_n of_o our_o liturgy_n do_v neither_o follow_v st._n matthew_n nor_o st_n luke_n but_o vary_v from_o they_o both_o as_o will_v appear_v to_o any_o that_o shall_v compare_v the_o lord_n prayer_n in_o the_o liturgy_n with_o the_o lord_n prayer_n in_o the_o new_a testament_n whether_o of_o the_o last_o or_o former_a translation_n but_o if_o it_o shall_v be_v say_v to_o they_o that_o the_o commandment_n require_v only_o that_o word_n be_v use_v to_o the_o same_o sense_n and_o purpose_n with_o those_o in_o st._n luke_n then_o be_v the_o brownist_n at_o as_o great_a liberty_n as_o he_o can_v wish_v they_o who_o lay_v it_o as_o a_o burden_n upon_o our_o conscience_n to_o use_v the_o same_o word_n in_o english_a that_o the_o evangelist_n use_v in_o greek_a shall_v do_v well_o clear_o to_o satisfy_v we_o what_o word_n be_v use_v by_o the_o evangelist_n for_o in_o no_o other_o matter_n do_v the_o copy_n more_o vary_v i_o have_v enough_o to_o satisfy_v myself_o that_o the_o doxology_n in_o matthew_n be_v not_o add_v in_o late_a time_n as_o some_o think_v but_o if_o any_o one_o shall_v differ_v from_o i_o in_o this_o opinion_n i_o shall_v be_v loath_a to_o tie_v myself_o neither_o to_o eat_v nor_o drink_v till_o i_o have_v convince_v he_o grotius_n tell_v i_o that_o it_o be_v in_o the_o syriack_n and_o arabic_a translation_n yea_o and_o in_o the_o latin_a too_o but_o i_o be_o sure_a it_o be_v not_o in_o the_o very_a syriack_n translation_n which_o all_o scholar_n acknowledge_v to_o be_v ancient_a but_o how_o shall_v i_o be_v able_a to_o persuade_v a_o dissenter_n that_o this_o syriack_n translation_n which_o we_o follow_v be_v the_o ancient_a in_o that_o kind_n if_o it_o be_v the_o ancient_a then_o must_v i_o needs_o acknowledge_v that_o from_o thence_o may_v be_v fetch_v a_o very_a good_a argument_n for_o the_o antiquity_n of_o holiday_n but_o perhaps_o it_o be_v not_o the_o ancient_a that_o which_o immanuel_n tremelius_fw-la follow_v have_v no_o such_o inscription_n and_o various_a title_n by_o which_o be_v signify_v that_o these_o and_o the_o other_o thing_n be_v do_v certain_a day_n in_o the_o year_n how_o shall_v i_o convince_v he_o that_o will_v say_v our_o father_n only_o and_o not_o our_o father_n which_o be_v in_o heaven_n or_o he_o that_o will_v use_v few_o petition_n by_o two_o than_o we_o common_o use_v or_o he_o that_o will_v not_o say_v amen_o at_o the_o end_n of_o the_o prayer_n above_o all_o thing_n this_o make_v i_o that_o i_o dare_v not_o too_o confident_o assert_v that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n intend_v to_o make_v it_o the_o duty_n of_o his_o disciple_n after_o his_o departure_n to_o use_v those_o very_a word_n which_o he_o deliver_v to_o they_o because_o i_o do_v not_o find_v in_o those_o word_n any_o mention_n of_o his_o own_o most_o sweet_a &_o precious_a name_n whereas_o
