cause_n to_o fear_v lest_o they_o be_v forsake_v of_o god_n and_o give_v over_o to_o their_o own_o heart_n lust_n seal_v up_o under_o judicial_a blindness_n and_o hardness_n of_o heart_n iii_o when_o the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n give_v over_o strive_v with_o the_o soul_n of_o men._n this_o be_v a_o most_o dangerous_a case_n for_o except_o he_o return_v they_o be_v irrecoverable_o lose_v there_o be_v a_o absolute_a necessity_n of_o the_o influence_n of_o the_o divine_a spirit_n to_o the_o beginning_n progress_n and_o continuance_n of_o the_o spiritual_a life_n and_o there_o be_v no_o that_o do_v act_v 7.51_o now_o if_o this_o bless_a spirit_n move_v not_o upon_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o backslider_n he_o can_v never_o be_v recover_v and_o when_o he_o have_v often_o be_v repulse_v their_o own_o counsel_n as_o the_o fruit_n of_o their_o be_v give_v up_o to_o their_o own_o lust_n and_o these_o be_v first_o the_o most_o foolish_a blind_a guide_n that_o can_v be_v that_o fill_v man_n with_o vain_a project_n and_o design_n as_o the_o rich_a fool_n in_o the_o gospel_n luke_n 16._o he_o will_v pull_v down_o his_o barn_n and_o build_v great_a and_o say_v soul_n take_v thy_o ease_n etc._n etc._n second_o they_o be_v false_a and_o treacherous_a guide_n they_o promise_v peace_n and_o happiness_n but_o procure_v nothing_o like_o it_o promise_v ease_n and_o rest_v but_o can_v by_o no_o mean_n perform_v what_o they_o promise_v but_o leave_v a_o man_n to_o wander_v and_o go_v astray_o unto_o his_o own_o destruction_n prov._n 5.31_o three_o they_o be_v cruel_a and_o pernicious_a guide_n as_o well_o as_o deceitful_a one_o such_o person_n will_v walk_v in_o the_o way_n that_o lead_v to_o destruction_n he_o that_o walk_v after_o his_o own_o counsel_n will_v find_v the_o end_n of_o that_o way_n to_o be_v death_n last_o the_o severity_n of_o this_o judgement_n will_v appear_v in_o that_o it_o can_v never_o be_v inflict_v but_o in_o anger_n this_o be_v the_o fruit_n of_o divine_a wrath._n all_o other_o calamity_n and_o affliction_n may_v be_v the_o fruit_n of_o love_n may_v be_v sanctify_v for_o our_o good_a may_v turn_v to_o our_o advantage_n but_o this_o calamity_n have_v no_o such_o original_a and_o no_o such_o effect_n a_o man_n may_v be_v give_v up_o to_o satan_n for_o the_o destruction_n of_o the_o flesh_n that_o the_o soul_n may_v be_v save_v but_o to_o be_v give_v up_o to_o sin_n be_v a_o thousand_o time_n worse_o because_o that_o be_v the_o fruit_n of_o divine_a anger_n in_o order_n to_o the_o damnation_n of_o the_o soul_n here_o
