the_o first_o five_o of_o these_o have_v already_o be_v declare_v by_o thou_o but_o the_o sixth_o namely_o of_o work_n of_o supererogation_n i_o scarce_o understand_v what_o it_o mean_v i_o will_v therefore_o have_v thou_o show_v it_o i_o brief_o mat._n supererogation_n work_n of_o supererogation_n to_o supererogat_v in_o latin_a signify_v so_o much_o as_o in_o the_o business_n of_o another_o man_n to_o lay_v out_o a_o great_a sum_n than_o we_o receive_v of_o he_o by_o mean_n whereof_o he_o be_v make_v bebter_n unto_o us._n but_o these_o man_n dream_v that_o man_n may_v do_v more_o good_a work_n than_o god_n have_v command_v and_o those_o according_a to_o this_o similitude_n they_o call_v work_n of_o supererogation_n signify_v that_o in_o respect_n of_o they_o they_o account_n god_n to_o be_v in_o their_o debt_n than_o which_o doctrine_n what_o be_v there_o more_o monster_n like_a for_o any_o to_o believe_v that_o a_o mortal_a man_n can_v bind_v his_o creator_n unto_o he_o to_o who_o notwithstanding_o whatsoever_o good_a thing_n he_o be_v able_a at_o any_o time_n to_o perform_v that_o all_o he_o be_v indebt_v &_o bind_v to_o do_v according_a as_o have_v be_v show_v of_o we_o in_o the_o chapter_n work_v but_o what_o a_o mischief_n be_v it_o that_o a_o great_a part_n of_o these_o work_n of_o supererogation_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o idolatry_n or_o superstition_n such_o as_o be_v religious_a pilgrimage_n monastical_a life_n &_o such_o other_o of_o that_o kind_n wherewith_o god_n be_v even_o offend_v wherefore_o see_v they_o have_v set_v themselves_o against_o his_o will_n the_o lord_n be_v not_o only_o nothing_o in_o their_o debt_n but_o contrariwise_o they_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o hold_v guilty_a before_o his_o judgement_n seat_n theoph._n pardon_n popish_a pardon_n very_o till_o now_o i_o know_v not_o that_o opinion_n as_o neither_o the_o other_o concern_v pardon_n which_o i_o desire_v thou_o to_o declare_v unto_o i_o matth._n it_o be_v no_o one_o drop_n of_o christ_n blood_n be_v sufficient_a for_o our_o redemption_n and_o that_o whatsoever_o he_o suffer_v beside_o which_o be_v indeed_o a_o infinite_a merit_n be_v lay_v up_o in_o the_o treasury_n of_o the_o church_n together_o with_o the_o innumerable_a work_n of_o supererogation_n wrought_v by_o hee-saint_n and_o she-saint_n for_o the_o which_o god_n be_v indebt_v unto_o they_o of_o this_o treasure_n say_v they_o the_o pope_n be_v the_o disposer_n and_o steward_n whereof_o he_o give_v to_o such_o as_o he_o see_v good_a that_o be_v to_o such_o as_o pay_v money_n that_o gift_n they_o call_v indulgence_n or_o pardon_n because_o they_o serve_v to_o remit_v or_o lessen_v somewhat_o of_o the_o punishment_n to_o be_v otherwise_o suffer_v in_o purgatory_n fire_n as_o often_o therefore_o as_o the_o pope_n by_o his_o indulgence_n grant_v ten_o twenty_o or_o a_o hundred_o year_n of_o pardon_n this_o he_o mean_v that_o so_o much_o be_v diminish_v of_o the_o time_n of_o that_o punishment_n which_o we_o have_v deserve_v for_o full_a satisfaction_n to_o be_v suffer_v for_o our_o sin_n either_o in_o this_o life_n or_o in_o the_o life_n to_o come_v yea_o they_o say_v further_o such_o be_v the_o height_n of_o their_o impiety_n that_o these_o pardon_n do_v profit_v the_o dead_a namely_o such_o as_o be_v in_o the_o fire_n of_o purgatory_n in_o somuch_o as_o that_o if_o the_o pope_n will_v serious_o and_o in_o earnest_n draw_v forth_o that_o his_o treasure_n of_o pardon_n he_o can_v say_v they_o empty_v it_o and_o send_v the_o soul_n torment_v in_o purgatory_n the_o right_a way_n into_o the_o heaven_n theoph._n why_o therefore_o do_v he_o it_o not_o according_a to_o the_o pattern_n of_o that_o pardon_n the_o vicar_n whereof_o he_o say_v that_o he_o be_v upon_o the_o earth_n mat._n lest_o that_o purgatory_n fire_n shall_v be_v altogether_o put_v out_o by_o the_o which_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n have_v get_v so_o great_a riches_n as_o it_o now_o abound_v with_o theo._n i_o do_v very_o see_v that_o upon_o good_a cause_n it_o be_v say_v of_o thou_o that_o the_o truth_n of_o doctrine_n be_v utter_o overthrow_v in_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n for_o these_o two_o point_n which_o thou_o have_v even_o now_o speak_v of_o do_v almost_o altogether_o abolish_v and_o take_v away_o
