grieve_v upon_o that_o account_n but_o because_o he_o believe_v in_o christ_n who_o have_v satisfy_v justice_n and_o for_o who_o sake_n pardon_n be_v promise_v to_o such_o as_o repent_v for_o in_o he_o be_v all_o the_o spring_n of_o our_o justification_n but_o lest_o this_o discourse_n shall_v grow_v too_o ample_a for_o if_o every_o thing_n be_v treat_v of_o particular_o it_o may_v be_v these_o consequence_n from_o they_o see_v such_o a_o judgement_n be_v approach_v as_o will_v bring_v every_o one_o to_o render_v a_o account_n of_o their_o life_n therefore_o no_o man_n shall_v flatter_v himself_o with_o hope_n that_o any_o of_o his_o offence_n either_o in_o word_n or_o deed_n will_v go_v unpunished_a but_o every_o man_n shall_v so_o frame_v his_o life_n that_o faith_n and_o holiness_n may_v be_v joint_o unite_v together_o and_o not_o separate_v from_o one_o another_o and_o this_o be_v a_o truth_n which_o many_o now_o a_o day_n have_v need_v to_o be_v admonish_v of_o doubt_n but_o a_o reward_n will_v be_v give_v suitable_a to_o every_o man_n work_n but_o in_o a_o far_o different_a manner_n to_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o for_o they_o who_o seek_v for_o salvation_n not_o by_o faith_n nor_o the_o imputation_n of_o christ_n righteousness_n only_o but_o by_o the_o work_v of_o the_o law_n they_o shall_v receive_v a_o reward_n according_a to_o the_o desert_n of_o their_o deed_n upon_o this_o condition_n that_o they_o shall_v live_v by_o the_o sentence_n of_o the_o law_n if_o they_o fulfil_v the_o law_n as_o they_o ought_v but_o if_o not_o what_o not_o evident_a that_o he_o speak_v of_o that_o faith_n which_o we_o have_v in_o christ_n through_o the_o free_a gift_n of_o god_n how_o much_o more_o than_o may_v this_o be_v understand_v of_o work_v which_o when_o paul_n exclude_v from_o justification_n it_o can_v be_v doubt_v but_o he_o understand_v it_o not_o only_o of_o work_v that_o be_v we_o whole_o 2._o and_o do_v by_o our_o own_o strength_n but_o also_o of_o those_o work_v that_o be_v do_v by_o the_o help_n of_o grace_n operate_a in_o we_o so_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o work_v either_o of_o the_o law_n or_o of_o justification_n though_o i_o acknowledge_v there_o be_v great_a difference_n between_o consist_v the_o law_n and_o grace_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o manner_n of_o do_v and_o the_o end_n of_o their_o office_n for_o what_o the_o law_n exact_v that_o grace_n perform_v but_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o thing_n themselves_o and_o the_o action_n unto_o which_o they_o be_v direct_v see_v both_o the_o law_n and_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n be_v exercise_v in_o the_o same_o subject_a matter_n there_o be_v no_o difference_n between_o they_o the_o law_n command_v we_o to_o love_v our_o neighbour_n and_o lay_v a_o punishment_n on_o he_o that_o disobey_v but_o grace_n communicate_v strength_n and_o ability_n to_o perform_v what_o the_o law_n command_v which_o when_o we_o perform_v we_o be_v say_v to_o require_v these_o thing_n at_o your_o hand_n nay_o but_o 1._o he_o will_v defend_v himself_o and_o take_v sanctuary_n in_o the_o law_n which_o he_o have_v fulfil_v not_o by_o the_o strength_n of_o his_o own_o freewill_n but_o by_o the_o help_n of_o divine_a grace_n say_v you_o so_o david_n be_v guard_v with_o as_o much_o grace_n as_o any_o man_n be_v yet_o sink_v down_o under_o the_o weight_n wit_n that_o it_o be_v a_o firm_a and_o constant_a reliance_n on_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n promise_v free_o for_o the_o sake_n of_o christ._n which_o definition_n if_o it_o be_v true_a by_o this_o mean_v it_o appear_v that_o the_o object_n of_o faith_n be_v place_v no_o otherway_n nor_o in_o any_o other_o thing_n but_o in_o the_o free_a mercy_n of_o god_n lay_v hold_v upon_o mercy_n which_o neither_o i_o myself_o deny_v to_o be_v true_a in_o this_o sense_n as_o faith_n in_o this_o place_n be_v take_v for_o a_o reliance_n as_o it_o be_v often_o use_v in_o this_o signification_n because_o it_o have_v a_o respect_n to_o mercy_n god_n and_o bring_v forth_o assurance_n in_o the_o mind_n of_o believer_n but_o whether_o this_o reliance_n proper_o justify_v we_o before_o god_n it_o may_v here_o be_v inquire_v not_o without_o profit_n a_o question_n whether_o only_a reliance_n on_o mercy_n justify_v of_o itself_o very_o as_o for_o my_o part_n i_o be_o not_o faith_n nor_o ever_o be_v the_o man_n that_o will_v be_v prejudicial_a to_o another_o man_n opinion_n i_o allow_v that_o every_o man_n shall_v be_v persuade_v in_o his_o own_o mind_n i_o hinder_v it_o not_o but_o if_o i_o be_o
