life_n this_o be_v the_o office_n of_o the_o gospel_n but_o to_o discover_v sin_n and_o death_n therein_o as_o in_o a_o glass_n we_o may_v see_v our_o own_o blindness_n etc._n etc._n for_o our_o nature_n be_v so_o corrupt_a that_o we_o shall_v not_o know_v they_o be_v corrupt_v but_o by_o the_o law_n rom._n 7.7_o the_o law_n than_o serve_v to_o humble_v we_o and_o drive_v we_o unto_o christ_n to_o make_v we_o know_v sin_n and_o so_o know_v ourselves_o and_o so_o renounce_v ourselves_o and_o fly_v unto_o christ_n and_o so_o the_o law_n be_v our_o schoolmaster_n to_o bring_v we_o unto_o christ_n gal._n 3._o and_o christ_n be_v the_o end_n of_o the_o law_n for_o righteousness_n to_o every_o one_o that_o believe_v rom._n 10._o because_o the_o end_n of_o the_o law_n be_v perfect_a righteousness_n which_o we_o can_v attain_v of_o ourselves_o but_o by_o christ_n who_o have_v fulfil_v the_o same_o for_o we_o and_o when_o the_o law_n have_v bring_v we_o unto_o christ_n it_o go_v no_o far_o the_o coactive_a power_n of_o it_o cease_v but_o not_o the_o directive_n it_o be_v still_o a_o guide_n and_o rule_v of_o life_n unto_o we_o which_o we_o follow_v not_o to_o seek_v righteousness_n to_o ourselves_o but_o to_o testify_v our_o thankfulness_n unto_o god_n we_o endeavour_v to_o keep_v the_o law_n not_o to_o justify_v ourselves_o but_o to_o glorify_v god_n and_o edify_v our_o neighbour_n by_o our_o good_a example_n and_o therefore_o we_o be_v still_o exhort_v to_o do_v the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n though_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v justify_v by_o the_o same_o chap._n xvi_o of_o good_a work_n although_o we_o be_v justify_v free_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n through_o the_o redemption_n that_o be_v in_o jesus_n christ._n rom._n 3._o truth_n truth_n yet_o we_o ought_v still_o to_o maintain_v good_a work_n 1._o out_o of_o thankfulness_n unto_o god_n for_o so_o great_a a_o benefit_n and_o to_o glorify_v his_o name_n 2._o to_o assure_v ourselves_o of_o the_o truth_n of_o our_o faith_n by_o the_o fruit_n thereof_o 3._o to_o edify_v win_v and_o provoke_v other_o also_o by_o our_o good_a example_n adversary_n be_v 1._o the_o papist_n error_n error_n who_o think_v good_a work_n be_v meritorious_a and_o so_o overvalue_v they_o 2_o the_o libertine_n that_o undervalve_v they_o and_o think_v they_o be_v repugnant_a and_o contrary_a unto_o faith_n that_o understand_v our_o liberty_n that_o
