the_o seed_n of_o abraham_n or_o the_o child_n of_o the_o flesh_n be_v all_o the_o child_n of_o god_n where_o consider_v what_o the_o general_a design_n and_o scope_n of_o the_o apostle_n be_v viz._n oblige_v to_o do_v for_o every_o one_o to_o who_o the_o promise_n do_v appertain_v what_o be_v absolute_o necessary_a to_o their_o be_v or_o become_v the_o child_n of_o god_n in_o such_o a_o sense_n it_o either_o of_o abraham_n or_o any_o other_o believer_n can_v lay_v claim_n to_o the_o new_a covenant_n promise_v unless_o bear_v again_o and_o engraft_v into_o christ_n by_o faith_n now_o before_o that_o god_n make_v a_o twofold_a covenant_n with_o abraham_n the_o one_o a_o covenant_n of_o grace_n the_o other_o a_o legal_a or_o temporal_a covenant_n and_o that_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n be_v make_v with_o he_o and_o his_o spiritual_a seed_n viz._n believer_n whether_o jew_n or_o gentile_n without_o any_o respect_n at_o all_o to_o a_o fleshly_a descent_n either_o from_o abraham_n himself_o or_o from_o any_o of_o his_o seed_n second_o that_o the_o legal_a or_o temporal_a covenant_n be_v make_v with_o abraham_n and_o his_o fleshly_a seed_n and_o only_o with_o they_o and_o that_o as_o continue_v in_o the_o line_n of_o isaac_n and_o jacob_n and_o that_o this_o be_v the_o covenant_n the_o jew_n during_o the_o first_o testament_n administration_n be_v under_o and_o the_o only_a covenant_n they_o be_v under_o as_o the_o fleshly_a seed_n of_o abraham_n second_o other_o declare_v their_o sense_n and_o conception_n thus_o that_o there_o be_v but_o one_o covenant_n make_v with_o abraham_n and_o that_o be_v a_o mix_a covenant_n consist_v partly_o of_o spiritual_a and_o partly_o of_o temporal_a promise_n and_o as_o this_o covenant_n be_v a_o mix_a covenant_n so_o answerable_o the_o seed_n of_o abraham_n must_v be_v distinguish_v off_o there_o be_v say_v they_o his_o natural_a seed_n and_o there_o be_v and_o be_v his_o spiritual_a seed_n now_o these_o hold_n that_o the_o covenant_n as_o consist_v of_o temporal_a or_o as_o some_o express_v it_o domestic_a or_o politic_a blessing_n be_v make_v with_o abraham_n and_o his_o natural_a or_o fleshly_a seed_n in_o their_o generation_n but_o the_o covenant_n as_o consist_v of_o spiritual_a blessing_n be_v make_v with_o abraham_n only_o as_o a_o spiritual_a father_n and_o with_o his_o spiritual_a seed_n that_o be_v believer_n whether_o jew_n or_o gentile_n now_o though_o our_o opposite_n do_v thus_o various_o express_v themselves_o yet_o they_o all_o agree_v in_o the_o general_n that_o only_o temporal_a blessing_n do_v appertain_v to_o abraham_n natural_a seed_n as_o such_o and_o that_o spiritual_a blessing_n be_v whole_o or_o alone_o promise_v to_o abraham_n in_o reference_n to_o his_o spiritual_a these_o two_o thing_n first_o prove_v that_o there_o be_v no_o such_o real_a and_o specificla_n difference_n between_o these_o two_o covenant_n as_o the_o objector_n suppose_v and_o take_v for_o grant_v that_o there_o be_v secon_o show_v that_o notwithstanding_o the_o covenant_n make_v with_o abraham_n and_o that_o make_v with_o believer_n shall_v be_v real_o and_o specifical_o divers_a the_o one_o from_o the_o other_o yet_o upon_o supposal_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o what_o can_v be_v gainsay_v by_o our_o opposer_n unless_o they_o shall_v in_o express_a term_n contradict_v the_o apostle_n infant-seed_n of_o believe_a gentile_n shall_v be_v suppose_v to_o stand_v relate_v to_o abraham_n as_o his_o seed_n and_o upon_o that_o account_n be_v baptize_v when_o his_o own_o natural_a seed_n can_v no_o long_o bear_v the_o denomination_n of_o his_o seed_n with_o reference_n to_o the_o promise_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n can_v be_v imagine_v but_o seem_v to_o be_v matter_n of_o require_v their_o own_o faith_n and_o repentance_n so_o soon_o as_o grow_v up_o to_o a_o capacity_n enable_v they_o thereunto_o whence_o as_o such_o who_o in_o their_o infancy_n have_v a_o right_a to_o and_o interest_n in_o the_o covenant_n and_o promise_v thereof_o either_o by_o virtue_n of_o their_o relation_n to_o abraham_n as_o his_o natural_a seed_n thus_o in_o respect_n of_o his_o own_o immediate_a child_n or_o by_o virtue_n of_o the_o relation_n to_o covenant_n parent_n thus_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o jew_n mediate_o descend_v from_o abraham_n during_o the_o first_o testament_n administration_n i_o say_v as_o such_o might_n when_o grow_v up_o to_o year_n of_o maturity_n fail_v in_o the_o perform_v the_o condition_n of_o the_o covenant_n and_o thereupon_o be_v reject_v of_o as_o parent_n have_v any_o right_n to_o the_o covenant_n as_o administer_v under_o the_o first_o testament_n but_o what_o depend_v upon_o their_o personal_a exceptance_n and_o performance_n of_o the_o to_o the_o covenant_n and_o the_o privilege_n thereof_o depend_v upon_o their_o own_o acceptation_n and_o performance_n of_o the_o covenant_n as_o now_o administer_v so_o their_o child_n right_a to_o
