life_n and_o deed_n in_o conversation_n he_o never_o use_v his_o insight_n into_o the_o law_n to_o examine_v himself_o thereby_o and_o to_o mark_v how_o far_o short_a his_o practice_n come_v of_o his_o knowledge_n but_o alone_o employ_v it_o if_o need_v be_v to_o discourse_v to_o teach_v other_o and_o reproove_v other_o hence_o it_o come_v that_o his_o knowledge_n do_v heave_v he_o up_o and_o and_o be_v glad_a to_o make_v themselves_o obstinate_a in_o evil_n and_o to_o confirm_v their_o inbred_a hatred_n of_o piety_n by_o turn_v all_o occurrent_n to_o that_o purpose_n be_v it_o not_o i_o say_v for_o this_o malicious_a blindness_n of_o they_o how_o can_v they_o be_v so_o foolish_a as_o not_o to_o have_v learn_v of_o our_o saviour_n most_o plain_a word_n that_o in_o he_o there_o will_v be_v fruitless_a branch_n that_o must_v be_v cut_v off_o and_o cast_v out_o as_o well_o as_o fruitful_a that_o will_v continue_v and_o increase_v in_o fruitfulness_n will_v any_o but_o a_o very_a he_o may_v just_o cause_v he_o to_o take_v heed_n and_o beware_v of_o hypocrisy_n as_o our_o saviour_n christ_n bid_v now_o the_o same_o thing_n that_o be_v available_a to_o beat_v down_o any_o vice_n from_o bear_v rule_n in_o the_o heart_n the_o same_o thing_n be_v also_o needful_a for_o the_o further_o and_o further_o weaken_v of_o it_o that_o it_o may_v be_v less_o and_o less_o noisome_a to_o they_o will_v not_o see_v themselves_o confute_v if_o ever_o any_o of_o you_o meet_v with_o any_o foolish_a hypocrite_n offer_v to_o tell_v you_o a_o tale_n of_o such_o perfection_n that_o he_o hope_v to_o get_v or_o that_o he_o have_v get_v or_o that_o may_v be_v get_v by_o any_o in_o this_o life_n as_o never_o to_o sin_v any_o more_o never_o any_o more_o to_o need_v repentance_n do_v no_o more_o unbelieve_a heart_n i_o be_o full_a of_o sin_n but_o i_o confess_v they_o and_o be_o trouble_v with_o they_o i_o fall_v often_o but_o i_o ever_o rise_v and_o ever_o resolve_v to_o rise_v to_o go_v to_o the_o lord_n and_o acknowledge_v and_o strive_v to_o bewail_v they_o and_o to_o crave_v and_o beg_v his_o help_n against_o they_o more_o and_o more_o earnest_o wherefore_o i_o be_o sure_a that_o those_o sin_n can_v disprove_v my_o be_v a_o true_a christian_a and_o a_o child_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o i_o will_v both_o call_v upon_o he_o and_o stay_v upon_o he_o and_o resolve_v still_o labour_v against_o they_o in_o his_o strength_n because_o our_o often_o foil_n and_o fail_n do_v make_v we_o conclude_v it_o be_v in_o vain_a this_o be_v no_o way_n allowable_a as_o good_a scald_a soul_n of_o a_o christian_a man_n that_o cut_v off_o the_o superfluity_n of_o the_o vine-branche_n be_v to_o they_o and_o this_o can_v be_v nothing_o else_o but_o the_o help_a of_o they_o against_o their_o corruption_n for_o look_v what_o superfluity_n of_o leaf_n twig_n or_o the_o like_a be_v to_o a_o branch_n the_o same_o be_v corruption_n of_o all_o sort_n to_o the_o christian_a man_n and_o therefore_o prune_v be_v the_o take_v away_o remove_v strengthen_v they_o against_o these_o corruption_n know_v then_o for_o a_o surety_n that_o as_o a_o good_a and_o husbandly_a gardener_n will_v take_v away_o from_o the_o vine_n all_o out-shooting_a and_o over_o grow_a thing_n that_o may_v make_v it_o yield_v he_o less_o increase_n of_o grape_n doct._n 3_o so_o the_o lord_n will_v lessen_v weaken_v redress_v the_o disorder_n of_o all_o sort_n that_o be_v in_o his_o servant_n people_n the_o lord_n will_v more_o and_o more_o weaken_v the_o corruption_n of_o his_o people_n even_o their_o chirurgeon_n look_v on_o a_o sore_a to_o search_v and_o dress_v and_o heal_v it_o not_o to_o kill_v the_o man_n for_o it_o as_o he_o that_o meet_v with_o a_o apple_n rot_v at_o core_n though_o it_o look_v sound_o on_o the_o outside_n cast_v it_o away_o from_o he_o to_o the_o dunghill_n so_o the_o lord_n meet_v with_o those_o in_o who_o sin_n have_v dominion_n cut_v they_o off_o and_o reject_v they_o utter_o but_o as_o a_o man_n meet_v with_o a_o apple_n a_o little_a speck_v here_o or_o there_o pick_v out_o that_o be_v naught_o and_o pare_v and_o eat_v it_o so_o the_o lord_n find_v man_n in_o who_o sin_n be_v dwell_v in_o some_o degree_n but_o be_v not_o predominant_a pick_v out_o that_o sin_n and_o preserve_v they_o for_o the_o use_n of_o his_o glory_n the_o apostle_n say_v that_o god_n will_v tread_v satan_n under_o our_o foot_n short_o and_o it_o be_v out_o of_o question_n that_o satan_n can_v never_o be_v tread_v under_o foot_n if_o sin_n be_v not_o yea_o sin_n say_v the_o same_o apostle_n shall_v not_o have_v dominion_n over_o your_o mortal_a body_n can_v we_o desire_v a_o more_o express_a promise_n the_o same_o thing_n we_o may_v note_v in_o the_o word_n of_o the_o prophet_n i_o will_v take_v away_o the_o heart_n of_o stone_n out_o of_o your_o body_n and_o give_v you_o a_o heart_n of_o flesh_n and_o again_o i_o will_v deliver_v you_o from_o all_o your_o uncleanness_n we_o see_v the_o lord_n intention_n plain_a enough_o he_o will_v help_v his_o servant_n not_o alone_o against_o one_o or_o two_o but_o against_o all_o their_o filthiness_n so_o do_v the_o prophet_n isaiah_n foretell_v say_v the_o lord_n shall_v wash_v away_o the_o filth_n of_o the_o daughter_n of_o zion_n and_o purge_v the_o blood_n of_o jerusalem_n from_o the_o midst_n thereof_o
