have_v no_o great_a gift_n than_o christ_n to_o give_v and_o he_o he_o have_v free_o give_v we_o and_o in_o christ_n himself_o his_o spirit_n his_o kingdom_n and_o his_o glory_n too_o who_o will_v by_o grace_n that_o we_o be_v save_v what_o can_v thou_o say_v now_o poor_a doubt_a soul_n all_o life_n be_v without_o thyself_o it_o be_v by_o grace_n that_o thou_o be_v save_v if_o thou_o can_v not_o see_v thyself_o worthy_a why_o yet_o see_v god_n be_v gracious_a it_o be_v not_o god_n design_n to_o look_v out_o worthy_a soul_n but_o to_o take_v unworthy_a soul_n and_o magnify_v his_o contrary_a when_o we_o will_v not_o rest_v on_o christ_n whole_o as_o our_o life_n till_o we_o have_v wrought_v up_o some_o qualification_n in_o ourselves_o we_o deny_v this_o gift_n of_o god_n and_o our_o like_a to_o be_v from_o freegrace_n the_o text_n speak_v plain_o it_o be_v of_o grace_n that_o we_o be_v save_v oh_o let_v god_n have_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o grace_n for_o the_o life_n of_o our_o soul_n lie_v in_o it_o there_o be_v no_o other_o way_n to_o enjoy_v interest_n in_o christ_n but_o to_o lay_v hand_n on_o he_o as_o the_o gift_n of_o grace_n and_o it_o appear_v that_o a_o christlesse_a soul_n be_v a_o dead_a soul_n be_v it_o better_a to_o be_v dead_a soul_n then_o to_o have_v life_n mere_o from_o grace_n if_o not_o oh_o then_o honour_n grace_n let_v christ_n be_v our_o life_n though_o we_o be_v whole_o dead_a in_o ourselves_o yet_o cast_v thyself_o upon_o christ_n as_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n freegrace_n for_o thy_o life_n but_o in_o the_o last_o place_n if_o christ_n be_v only_o a_o saint_n life_n and_o a_o saint_n enjoy_v this_o as_o he_o live_v upon_o christ_n in_o the_o spirit_n then_o let_v this_o teach_v we_o always_o at_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n to_o be_v plead_v the_o promise_n of_o the_o father_n &_o the_o son_n to_o power_n out_o the_o holy_a spirit_n upon_o we_o and_o not_o rest_v satisfy_v without_o the_o spirit_n in_o any_o or_o in_o all_o external_o not_o in_o a_o bare_a literal_a knowledge_n no_o nor_o a_o christ_n only_o in_o the_o flesh_n but_o only_o to_o know_v god_n and_o christ_n and_o to_o live_v on_o they_o in_o the_o spirit_n to_o know_v truth_n as_o they_o be_v in_o jesus_n be_v to_o know_v they_o in_o the_o spirit_n of_o jesus_n and_o this_o be_v our_o saviour_n own_o promise_n john_n 14.26_o that_o when_o the_o have_v before_o ordain_v that_o we_o shall_v walk_v in_o they_o the_o holy_a ghost_n speak_v methinks_v very_o full_o to_o this_o truth_n in_o this_o place_n that_o it_o be_v ordain_v and_o decree_v by_o god_n from_o all_o eternity_n that_o such_o as_o be_v save_v by_o christ_n shall_v be_v sanctify_v in_o christ_n as_o it_o be_v the_o design_n of_o god_n from_o all_o eternity_n to_o save_v soul_n mere_o of_o his_o grace_n through_o christ_n so_o be_v it_o the_o same_o design_n of_o god_n to_o sanctify_v every_o soul_n who_o he_o save_v through_o christ_n now_o this_o be_v the_o decree_n of_o god_n that_o if_o any_o man_n be_v in_o christ_n and_o christ_n be_v his_o justification_n that_o christ_n shall_v be_v in_o he_o and_o his_o sanctification_n so_o that_o if_o any_o man_n be_v in_o christ_n he_o be_v a_o new_a creature_n for_o the_o one_o be_v as_o full_o the_o design_n &_o desire_v of_o the_o free_a grace_n of_o god_n as_o the_o other_o holiness_n it_o be_v the_o work_n of_o god_n commit_v as_o i_o may_v say_v to_o the_o hand_n of_o christ_n the_o same_o apostle_n tell_v we_o that_o christ_n be_v make_v to_o we_o of_o god_n wisdom_n righteousness_n sanctification_n &_o redemption_n and_o god_n carry_v on_o this_o decree_n of_o he_o when_o he_o call_v a_o soul_n to_o lie_v in_o his_o bosom_n and_o to_o have_v communion_n with_o himself_o through_o the_o lord_n christ_n the_o apostle_n make_v it_o a_o argument_n in_o 1_o thes_n 4.7_o for_o god_n have_v not_o call_v we_o unto_o uncleanness_n but_o unto_o holiness_n his_o business_n in_o the_o foregoing_a verse_n be_v to_o exhort_v they_o to_o holiness_n and_o to_o avoid_v the_o lust_n and_o concupiscence_n of_o the_o gentile_n which_o say_v he_o know_v not_o god_n and_o make_v this_o the_o argument_n to_o his_o exhortation_n for_o god_n have_v call_v we_o to_o holiness_n god_n have_v unite_v we_o to_o christ_n and_o in_o that_o union_n he_o have_v decree_v that_o we_o shall_v be_v sanctify_v as_o god_n from_o all_o eternity_n and_o shall_v abide_v to_o all_o eternity_n a_o second_o demonstration_n of_o this_o truth_n may_v be_v this_o that_o the_o teach_n of_o christ_n in_o those_o that_o be_v true_o teach_v by_o he_o be_v to_o put_v off_o the_o old_a man_n which_o be_v corrupt_a according_a to_o the_o deceitful_a lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o to_o put_v on_o the_o new_a man_n which_o be_v to_o be_v renew_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o their_o mind_n after_o the_o image_n of_o god_n in_o righteousness_n and_o true_a holiness_n the_o proof_n of_o this_o do_v appear_v in_o ephes_n 4.20_o 21_o 22_o 23_o 24._o but_o you_o have_v not_o so_o learned_a christ_n if_o so_o be_v that_o you_o have_v hear_v he_o and_o have_v be_v teach_v by_o he_o as_o the_o truth_n be_v in_o jesus_n that_o you_o put_v off_o concern_v the_o former_a conversation_n the_o old_a man_n which_o be_v corrupt_a according_a to_o the_o deceitful_a lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o be_v renew_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o your_o mind_n and_o that_o you_o put_v on_o the_o new_a man_n which_o after_o god_n be_v create_v in_o righteousness_n and_o true_a holiness_n by_o this_o scripture_n it_o appear_v that_o such_o soul_n as_o have_v learned_a christ_n and_o truth_n as_o they_o be_v in_o jesus_n they_o be_v thereby_o renew_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o their_o mind_n so_o as_o that_o the_o old_a man_n which_o be_v after_o the_o flesh_n be_v put_v off_o and_o the_o new_a man_n put_v on_o which_o be_v after_o god_n create_v in_o righteousness_n and_o true_a holiness_n christ_n teach_v with_o power_n and_o his_o teach_n make_v a_o change_n from_o flesh_n to_o spirit_n and_o from_o the_o carnal_a conversation_n of_o the_o old_a man_n to_o the_o image_n of_o god_n in_o the_o spirit_n according_a to_o righteousness_n and_o holiness_n christ_n he_o renew_v the_o mind_n and_o the_o conversation_n when_o he_o teach_v his_o teach_n reach_v the_o internal_o the_o root_n receive_v life_n from_o he_o so_o that_o the_o fruit_n be_v the_o image_n of_o god_n in_o righteousness_n and_o true_a holiness_n not_o a_o bare_a form_n all_o profess_a holiness_n but_o a_o true_a holiness_n that_o be_v holiness_n in_o truth_n which_o be_v in_o christ_n the_o truth_n itself_o so_o that_o the_o demonstration_n be_v full_a christ_n and_o the_o new_a creature_n always_o go_v together_o but_o as_o if_o the_o apostle_n have_v say_v there_o may_v be_v many_o formal_a carnal_a wretch_n that_o may_v profess_v christ_n and_o lie_v claim_v to_o he_o but_o this_o be_v a_o stand_a truth_n they_o have_v not_o be_v teach_v truth_n as_o they_o be_v in_o jesus_n and_o for_o their_o formality_n and_o carnality_n they_o have_v that_o from_o the_o old_a man_n what_o ever_o they_o profess_v of_o christ_n for_o sure_a i_o be_o they_o have_v not_o so_o learned_a christ_n his_o teach_n be_v spiritual_a and_o his_o renewing_n be_v in_o the_o mind_n which_o make_v the_o image_n of_o god_n in_o righteousness_n and_o true_a holiness_n in_o the_o conversation_n not_o only_o a_o naked_a profess_a holiness_n for_o if_o christ_n than_o the_o new_a creature_n a_o three_o demonstration_n may_v be_v this_o that_o god_n be_v light_n and_o in_o he_o be_v no_o darkness_n so_o that_o whoever_o have_v fellowship_n with_o god_n and_o christ_n walk_v in_o the_o light_n as_o god_n be_v light_a for_o proof_n of_o this_o take_v a_o scripture_n or_o two_o 1_o john_n 1.5_o 6._o this_o be_v the_o message_n which_o we_o have_v hear_v of_o he_o and_o declare_v unto_o you_o
as_o if_o the_o lord_n christ_n have_v say_v my_o work_n and_o will_n be_v bind_v up_o in_o god_n and_o it_o be_v my_o joy_n and_o content_a to_o be_v do_v his_o work_n and_o fulfil_v his_o will_n and_o in_o the_o five_o of_o john_n verse_n 30._o i_o seek_v not_o my_o own_o will_n but_o the_o will_n of_o my_o father_n which_o have_v send_v i_o i_o pursue_v the_o business_n that_o i_o come_v god_n if_o the_o lord_n christ_n will_v allow_v in_o himself_o no_o other_o will_n but_o the_o will_n of_o god_n then_o certain_o he_o will_v not_o do_v it_o in_o his_o member_n it_o be_v both_o the_o duty_n and_o privilege_n of_o saint_n to_o be_v make_v conformable_a to_o christ_n their_o head_n as_o the_o branch_n in_o the_o vine_n receive_v that_o sap_n which_o come_v from_o the_o root_n and_o bring_v forth_o such_o fruit_n as_o that_o fap_a produce_v so_o be_v it_o with_o saint_n unite_v to_o christ_n they_o have_v their_o lise_fw-fr and_o fruit_n from_o union_n and_o he_o ow_v they_o to_o be_v unite_v to_o he_o that_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o do_v it_o luke_n 8.21_o this_o be_v so_o clear_a a_o truth_n so_o much_o of_o god_n in_o it_o that_o i_o can_v doubt_v but_o it_o carry_v its_o proof_n and_o commission_n with_o it_o into_o the_o bosom_n of_o all_o such_o as_o own_o god_n and_o christ_n so_o that_o the_o improve_n will_v be_v more_o edify_v then_o the_o prove_v therefore_o confider_v the_o second_o head_n namely_o that_o so_o far_o as_o christ_n live_v in_o any_o soul_n it_o be_v the_o desire_n of_o such_o a_o soul_n that_o the_o whole_a will_n of_o god_n and_o no_o other_o but_o the_o will_n of_o god_n may_v be_v do_v in_o all_o time_n and_o thing_n what_o christ_n be_v in_o himself_o that_o he_o be_v in_o his_o member_n he_o be_v in_o himself_o one_o with_o the_o will_n of_o god_n so_o where_o christ_n live_v in_o any_o soul_n so_o much_o christ_n so_o much_o oneness_n with_o and_o conformity_n to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n such_o a_o soul_n speak_v in_o christ_n strength_n and_o so_o speak_v christ_n language_n to_o god_n not_o my_o will_n but_o thy_o will_n be_v do_v there_o be_v in_o the_o best_a of_o saint_n on_o earth_n as_o in_o paul_n a_o double_a law_n one_o in_o the_o member_n and_o another_o in_o the_o mind_n one_o of_o the_o flesh_n and_o another_o of_o the_o spirit_n but_o as_o that_o apostle_n rom._n 7._o last_o through_o christ_n he_o serve_v god_n with_o the_o mind_n where_o christ_n possess_v there_o god_n be_v obey_v if_o he_o live_v and_o reign_v in_o any_o soul_n that_o soul_n so_o far_o know_v no_o will_n to_o obey_v but_o the_o will_n of_o god_n and_o if_o any_o part_n of_o that_o man_n know_v any_o other_o will_n it_o be_v the_o fleshly_a part_n which_o christ_n have_v not_o full_o subdue_v to_o himself_o but_o where_o christ_n live_v there_o he_o suffer_v no_o other_o will_n but_o the_o will_n of_o god_n to_o bear_v rule_n and_o as_o the_o fire_n of_o god_n spirit_n do_v consume_v the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n in_o saint_n so_o do_v the_o will_n of_o such_o saint_n run_v more_o and_o more_o into_o the_o will_n of_o god_n they_o be_v lose_v unto_o themselves_o and_o find_v in_o god_n they_o will_v and_o do_v every_o day_n less_o of_o self_n and_o more_o of_o god_n they_o be_v crucify_v with_o christ_n to_o the_o world_n and_o the_o world_n to_o they_o and_o the_o life_n that_o they_o then_o live_v be_v by_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n in_o conformity_n to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n christ_n make_v the_o desire_n shape_n and_o form_n the_o will_n in_o such_o soul_n as_o he_o live_v in_o to_o god_n and_o god_n be_v sure_a to_o have_v that_o which_o christ_n new_o make_v for_o it_o be_v his_o business_n to_o do_v his_o father_n work_n when_o ever_o christ_n new_o make_v or_o make_v the_o new_a creature_n in_o any_o soul_n his_o end_n be_v to_o make_v for_o god_n and_o to_o lift_v up_o his_o own_o name_n in_o lift_v up_o god_n for_o he_o tell_v and_o holy_a will_n of_o god_n and_o from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o any_o soul_n come_v to_o be_v change_v in_o its_o desire_n because_o it_o be_v change_v in_o itself_o or_o more_o proper_o out_o of_o itself_o from_o flesh_n to_o spirit_n from_o self_n to_o christ_n from_o its_o own_o will_n to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n but_o now_o if_o any_o shall_v object_v and_o say_v this_o be_v a_o hard_a say_n who_o can_v bear_v it_o this_o make_v christianity_n to_o be_v such_o a_o burdensome_a thing_n as_o the_o world_n report_v it_o to_o be_v that_o a_o man_n must_v be_v always_o cross_v and_o convince_a they_o and_o make_v they_o believe_v that_o their_o own_o good_a be_v in_o his_o will_n so_o that_o gather_v up_o all_o these_o together_o and_o it_o will_v plain_o appear_v that_o it_o be_v ignorance_n of_o god_n and_o his_o way_n in_o any_o soul_n that_o shall_v make_v this_o objection_n that_o god_n way_n upon_o the_o soul_n of_o his_o people_n be_v hard_a and_o burdensome_a way_n such_o as_o if_o a_o man_n once_o enter_v into_o and_o give_v up_o his_o will_n to_o god_n will_v than_o he_o must_v be_v ever_o cross_v and_o deny_v himself_o make_v the_o way_n to_o heaven_n overcome_v the_o will_n four_o he_o give_v in_o high_a and_o full_a joy_n and_o contentment_n into_o the_o soul_n of_o his_o people_n when_o he_o melt_v they_o into_o his_o own_o will_n than_o they_o have_v at_o any_o time_n or_o at_o all_o time_n before_o and_o last_o god_n convince_v and_o make_v the_o soul_n of_o his_o people_n to_o believe_v that_o their_o good_a be_v bind_v up_o in_o his_o will_n this_o way_n of_o work_v must_v needs_o convince_v that_o the_o work_n the_o way_n and_o the_o end_n of_o god_n be_v sweet_a safe_a and_o pleasant_a to_o the_o soul_n of_o his_o people_n when_o he_o bring_v they_o to_o this_o frame_n of_o spirit_n to_o say_v in_o sincerity_n not_o my_o will_n but_o thy_o will_n be_v do_v o_o father_n doubtless_o it_o will_v be_v worthy_a
