then_o she_o err_v against_o the_o second_o commandment_n though_o she_o judge_v she_o do_v not_o p._n d._n what_o be_v this_o to_o the_o purpose_n the_o question_n be_v not_o whether_o idolatry_n do_v not_o imply_v a_o practical_a error_n against_o the_o second_o commandment_n but_o whether_o it_o be_v consistent_a with_o the_o doctrinal_a point_n of_o faith_n such_o as_o be_v essential_a to_o the_o be_v of_o a_o church_n for_o of_o this_o sort_n of_o error_n all_o the_o dispute_n be_v as_o be_v plain_a from_o dr_n st.'s_n word_n which_o give_v occasion_n to_o this_o objection_n r._n p._n but_o be_v it_o not_o a_o fundamental_a error_n to_o destroy_v the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o second_o commandment_n p._n d._n if_o it_o be_v the_o more_o care_n have_v they_o need_v to_o have_v who_o put_v it_o out_o of_o their_o book_n that_o it_o may_v not_o fly_v in_o their_o face_n but_o who_o ever_o reckon_v the_o commandment_n among_o the_o article_n of_o faith_n i_o do_v not_o deny_v it_o to_o be_v a_o very_a dangerous_a practical_a error_n to_o destroy_v the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o second_o commandment_n or_o rather_o to_o take_v away_o the_o whole_a force_n of_o the_o precept_n but_o i_o say_v this_o be_v none_o of_o those_o essential_a point_n of_o faith_n which_o dr._n st._n speak_v of_o and_o therefore_o this_o be_v no_o answer_n to_o he_o r._n p._n therefore_o t._n g._n add_v that_o this_o do_v not_o proceed_v upon_o a_o general_a thesis_n 94._o whether_o some_o idolatrous_a practice_n may_v not_o consist_v with_o own_v the_o general_a principle_n of_o faith_n but_o upon_o a_o particular_a hypothesis_n whether_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n by_o a_o image_n be_v not_o a_o error_n against_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o second_o commandment_n if_o that_o be_v to_o forbid_v man_n to_o worship_v he_o by_o a_o image_n and_o therefore_o if_o it_o be_v a_o fundamental_a point_n to_o believe_v that_o to_o be_v idolatry_n which_o god_n have_v express_o forbid_v in_o the_o law_n under_o the_o notion_n of_o idolatry_n and_o that_o be_v the_o worship_v of_o he_o by_o a_o image_n as_o dr._n st._n assert_n it_o be_v clear_a that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n in_o tell_v man_n it_o be_v not_o idolatry_n err_v against_o a_o fundamental_a point_n and_o he_o can_v according_o to_o his_o principle_n maintain_v his_o charge_n of_o idolatry_n without_o a_o contradiction_n p._n d._n this_o be_v then_o the_o thing_n to_o be_v try_v and_o therefore_o we_o must_v judge_v of_o it_o by_o what_o dr._n st._n say_v to_o which_o this_o be_v suppose_v to_o be_v a_o contradiction_n do_v he_o ever_o say_v that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n do_v not_o err_v against_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o second_o commandment_n nay_o he_o have_v invincible_o prove_v it_o have_v i_o say_v invincible_o since_o t._n g._n give_v it_o up_o in_o these_o dialogue_n spend_v so_o many_o page_n upon_o the_o repetition_n of_o his_o old_a argument_n and_o pass_v over_o all_o that_o elaborate_a discourse_n of_o dr._n st._n about_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o second_o commandment_n on_o which_o the_o hinge_n of_o the_o controversy_n depend_v if_o then_o dr._n st._n do_v charge_v they_o with_o a_o very_a dangerous_a and_o pernicious_a error_n in_o respect_n of_o this_o commandment_n that_o can_v not_o be_v the_o fundamental_a error_n he_o clear_v the_o church_n of_o rome_n from_o when_o he_o say_v she_o hold_v all_o essential_a point_n of_o faith_n mark_v that_o and_o he_o explain_v himself_o purposely_o to_o prevent_v such_o a_o mistake_n to_o mean_v such_o doctrinal_a point_n of_o faith_n as_o be_v essential_a to_o the_o constitution_n of_o a_o church_n and_o the_o true_a form_n of_o baptism_n now_o the_o question_n be_v whether_o it_o be_v a_o contradiction_n for_o a_o man_n to_o say_v that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n do_v hold_v all_o these_o essential_a point_n of_o faith_n and_o yet_o be_v guilty_a of_o idolatry_n and_o how_o after_o all_o have_v t._n g._n prove_v it_o it_o be_v a_o fundamental_a point_n say_v he_o to_o believe_v that_o to_o be_v idolatry_n which_o god_n have_v forbid_v as_o idolatry_n and_o so_o it_o be_v to_o believe_v that_o to_o be_v perjury_n and_o theft_n and_o adultery_n which_o god_n have_v forbid_v under_o their_o notion_n but_o will_v any_o man_n say_v the_o true_a notion_n of_o adultery_n be_v a_o doctrinal_a point_n of_o faith_n although_o therefore_o it_o be_v grant_v that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n do_v err_v fundamental_o against_o the_o second_o commandment_n yet_o that_o do_v not_o prove_v dr._n st._n guilty_a of_o a_o contradiction_n because_o he_o speak_v not_o of_o practical_a error_n but_o of_o the_o doctrinal_a and_o essential_a point_n of_o faith_n and_o now_o i_o hope_v we_o have_v do_v with_o all_o these_o preliminary_n and_o may_v come_v
work_n which_o be_v neither_o from_o mathematical_a demonstration_n nor_o supernatural_a infallibility_n he_o call_v moral_a certainty_n which_o he_o may_v do_v from_o these_o ground_n 1._o because_o the_o force_n of_o the_o argument_n from_o the_o creature_n depend_v upon_o some_o moral_a principle_n viz._n from_o the_o suitableness_n and_o fitness_n of_o thing_n to_o the_o wisdom_n of_o a_o intelligent_a and_o infinite_a agent_n who_o may_v from_o thence_o be_v infer_v to_o be_v the_o maker_n of_o they_o it_o be_v unconceivable_a that_o mere_a matter_n shall_v ever_o produce_v thing_n in_o so_o much_o beauty_n order_n and_o usefulness_n as_o we_o see_v in_o every_o creature_n in_o a_o ant_n or_o a_o fly_n as_o much_o as_o in_o the_o vast_a body_n of_o the_o heaven_n 2._o because_o
