lord_n and_o so_o as_o may_v stir_v we_o up_o to_o earnest_a prayer_n these_o thing_n contain_v in_o the_o king_n edict_n of_o cover_v with_o sackcloth_n and_o withhold_v food_n from_o man_n and_o beast_n tend_v to_o these_o end_n for_o hereby_o they_o declare_v how_o all_o sort_n have_v offend_v god_n and_o abuse_v the_o creature_n unto_o sin_n they_o testify_v also_o their_o sense_n of_o their_o own_o deserve_n that_o the_o lord_n may_v cut_v they_o all_o off_o and_o their_o beast_n for_o their_o sake_n and_o that_o because_o of_o this_o they_o be_v in_o a_o abject_a and_o deplorable_a condition_n in_o their_o own_o eye_n and_o withal_o by_o this_o mournful_a face_n of_o all_o thing_n they_o will_v stir_v up_o themselves_o to_o entreat_v the_o face_n of_o the_o lord_n sackcloth_n be_v more_o call_v for_o under_o the_o shadow_n of_o the_o law_n when_o the_o promise_n be_v not_o so_o clear_a as_o under_o the_o gospel_n and_o when_o people_n be_v train_v on_o to_o their_o duty_n by_o that_o paedagogie_n and_o as_o abstinence_n be_v still_o require_v in_o solemn_a humiliation_n in_o so_o far_o as_o may_v be_v subservient_fw-fr to_o spiritual_a duty_n so_o it_o may_v be_v more_o practise_v in_o warm_a country_n then_o in_o cold_a climate_n 6._o a_o lively_a sense_n of_o god_n authority_n and_o of_o his_o wrath_n kindle_v against_o sin_n my_o make_n a_o king_n quit_v his_o throne_n and_o robe_n and_o take_v a_o place_n in_o the_o dust_n with_o the_o mean_a of_o his_o subject_n to_o deprecate_v the_o anger_n of_o god_n for_o the_o king_n of_o nineveh_n arise_v from_o his_o throne_n and_o lay_v his_o robe_n from_o he_o and_o cover_v he_o with_o sackcloth_n and_o sit_v in_o ash_n 7._o king_n be_v oblige_v not_o only_o by_o their_o such_o as_o may_v be_v instrumental_a to_o frame_v they_o according_a to_o god_n mind_n prophesy_v you_o not_o say_v they_o to_o they_o that_o prophesy_v or_o prophesy_v you_o not_o let_v these_o prophesy_v 3._o howsoever_o the_o lord_n will_v have_v his_o truth_n publish_v so_o song_n as_o he_o see_v fit_v or_o have_v use_v for_o it_o oppose_v who_o will_v and_o so_o the_o word_n may_v be_v read_v that_o when_o the_o wicked_a say_v prophesy_v not_o the_o lord_n answer_v they_o shall_v prophesy_v yet_o when_o man_n become_v so_o desperate_o wicked_a as_o not_o only_o not_o to_o care_v for_o the_o word_n but_o study_n to_o affront_v and_o injure_v the_o carrier_n of_o it_o it_o be_v righteous_a with_o god_n to_o deprive_v they_o of_o it_o for_o a_o judgement_n to_o they_o and_o the_o good_a of_o his_o wrong_a servant_n they_o shall_v not_o prophesy_v to_o they_o that_o they_o shall_v not_o take_v shame_n see_v ezek._n 3.26_o 4_o albeit_o wicked_a man_n think_v all_o sure_a flow_v from_o their_o perverse_a and_o corrupt_a affection_n therefore_o say_v he_o of_o oppressor_n you_o hate_v the_o good_a and_o love_v the_o evil_n 4._o great_a perversity_n be_v usual_o find_v import_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v put_v to_o seek_v god_n who_o otherwise_o they_o misregarded_a then_o shall_v they_o cry_v 2._o natural_a man_n may_v make_v some_o show_n of_o seek_v god_n in_o trouble_n not_o in_o faith_n or_o out_o of_o love_n but_o out_o of_o sense_n of_o trouble_n then_o that_o be_v when_o the_o common_a calamity_n former_o threaten_v or_o their_o own_o particular_a correction_n for_o their_o sin_n be_v lie_v on_o shall_v they_o cry_v 3._o it_o be_v righteous_a with_o god_n not_o to_o own_o this_o cry_n of_o the_o wicked_a in_o their_o trouble_n because_o of_o their_o former_a wickedness_n and_o present_a unsoundnesse_n and_o particular_o that_o he_o may_v recompense_v they_o for_o not_o harken_v to_o the_o cry_n of_o the_o poor_a oppress_v by_o they_o they_o shall_v cry_v unto_o the_o lord_n but_o he_o will_v not_o hear_v they_o 4._o it_o be_v extreme_a misery_n to_o be_v desert_v total_o of_o god_n in_o trouble_n and_o to_o want_v his_o favour_n preach_v peace_n do_v in_o effect_n destroy_v people_n soul_n with_o delusion_n as_o if_o these_o dog_n have_v devour_v the_o lord_n sheep_n with_o their_o tooth_n or_o they_o flatter_v the_o people_n in_o sin_n that_o they_o may_v get_v somewhat_o to_o eat_v and_o devour_v their_o substance_n wherein_o if_o they_o be_v not_o satisfy_v and_o humour_v according_a to_o their_o own_o desire_n they_o turn_v bitter_a enemy_n and_o denounce_v judgement_n though_o they_o former_o flatter_v they_o doct._n 1._o false_a teacher_n be_v not_o the_o least_o among_o the_o sad_a companion_n of_o a_o decline_a time_n nor_o will_v the_o lord_n forget_v to_o reckon_v with_o they_o for_o here_o the_o lord_n have_v such_o to_o deal_v with_o thus_o say_v the_o lord_n and_o not_o one_o prophet_n envy_v another_o concern_v the_o prophet_n etc._n etc._n see_v lam._n 2.14_o 2._o a_o unfaithful_a ministry_n be_v a_o most_o effectual_a mean_n to_o prevail_v with_o people_n and_o carry_v they_o out_o of_o the_o way_n of_o god_n for_o the_o

and_o of_o a_o jealous_a god_n thou_o shall_v be_v cut_v off_o for_o ever_o for_o however_o there_o may_v be_v some_o relent_a under_o this_o or_o that_o particular_a stroke_n yet_o unless_o that_o
