and_o argument_n it_o must_v needs_o propound_v it_o with_o great_a strength_n and_o authority_n to_o the_o low_a faculty_n and_o so_o must_v have_v more_o powerful_a influence_n upon_o all_o our_o affection_n and_o action_n otherwise_o how_o can_v we_o expect_v but_o that_o any_o little_a reason_n shall_v be_v too_o hard_a for_o and_o baffle_v that_o faith_n which_o be_v ground_v on_o no_o reason_n at_o all_o or_o how_o can_v we_o think_v that_o those_o thing_n which_o we_o believe_v but_o without_o any_o sufficient_a convince_a motive_n or_o evidence_n shall_v outweigh_v those_o thing_n which_o we_o be_v more_o certain_a of_o which_o we_o daily_o see_v feel_v and_o experience_n such_o as_o be_v the_o present_a sensible_a pleasure_n and_o the_o visible_a good_a and_o evil_a thing_n of_o this_o life_n this_o therefore_o be_v one_o great_a reason_n of_o the_o inefficacy_n of_o man_n faith_n that_o their_o belief_n of_o these_o great_a truth_n be_v never_o well_o root_v understanding_n to_o follow_v and_o obey_v its_o dictate_v so_o also_o it_o be_v most_o importunate_o solicit_v by_o our_o low_a fleshly_a appetite_n and_o lust_n crave_v their_o several_a satisfaction_n and_o gratification_n and_o by_o outward_a object_n that_o continual_o thrust_v themselves_o upon_o we_o agreeable_a to_o those_o desire_n and_o propensity_n hence_o arise_v a_o great_a conflict_n between_o those_o truth_n of_o religion_n which_o be_v propound_v by_o our_o understanding_n on_o the_o one_o side_n and_o our_o inferior_a sensitive_a faculty_n on_o the_o other_o our_o lust_n be_v check_v and_o cross_v by_o the_o hope_n and_o fear_n of_o another_o life_n make_v the_o shrewd_a objection_n against_o the_o principle_n of_o religion_n and_o do_v with_o all_o their_o force_n and_o power_n oppose_v the_o entertainment_n of_o they_o in_o our_o mind_n and_o on_o the_o success_n of_o this_o contest_v do_v especial_o depend_v the_o efficacy_n of_o our_o faith_n thus_o there_o be_v many_o that_o be_v not_o altogether_o thus_o easy_a and_o complaisant_a as_o to_o follow_v mere_o for_o company_n nor_o so_o lazy_a as_o to_o take_v up_o every_o thing_n on_o trust_n but_o they_o be_v man_n of_o prudence_n and_o discretion_n who_o desire_v first_o to_o be_v satisfy_v whether_o what_o they_o be_v entice_v to_o be_v prudent_a and_o safe_a they_o like_v a_o wicked_a do_v without_o the_o help_n of_o a_o instructor_n it_o will_v even_o force_v they_o to_o do_v well_o without_o a_o guide_n or_o monitour_n this_o will_v fortify_v our_o mind_n against_o all_o the_o temptation_n we_o may_v meet_v with_o from_o this_o world_n or_o any_o of_o its_o bewitch_a enjoyment_n so_o that_o that_o man_n who_o have_v his_o eternal_a state_n always_o in_o his_o eye_n be_v set_v above_o the_o power_n of_o this_o world_n frown_n or_o smile_n he_o can_v neither_o be_v tempt_v by_o the_o suffering_n of_o this_o life_n nor_o yet_o entice_v by_o any_o of_o its_o allure_a charm_n can_v he_o who_o thought_n be_v fix_v upon_o throne_n and_o kingdom_n and_o immortal_a glory_n be_v divert_v by_o the_o gay_a bauble_n or_o glitter_a toy_n which_o this_o world_n present_v he_o with_o it_o offer_v he_o infinite_o too_o little_a when_o the_o soul_n once_o by_o faith_n be_v mount_v beyond_o the_o star_n into_o that_o place_n where_o god_n and_o his_o saviour_n dwell_v how_o mean_a and_o contemptible_a how_o vile_a and_o sordid_a do_v all_o thing_n here_o below_o appear_v when_o this_o whole_a earth_n seem_v but_o a_o point_n how_o next_o to_o nothing_o be_v that_o small_a pittance_n of_o it_o which_o any_o one_o man_n can_v possess_v or_o enjoy_v faith_n look_v beyond_o this_o present_a scene_n of_o thing_n behold_v this_o world_n dissolve_v and_o all_o the_o glory_n and_o pomp_n of_o it_o vanish_v and_o this_o curtain_n be_v draw_v there_o appear_v to_o his_o view_n a_o new_a world_n wherein_o be_v joy_n and_o pleasure_n and_o honour_n substantial_a and_o eternal_a the_o prospect_n and_o forethought_a of_o which_o rectify_v his_o judgement_n about_o these_o inferior_a thing_n and_o beget_v very_o slight_a and_o undervalue_a thought_n of_o all_o thing_n on_o this_o side_n heaven_n this_o faith_n will_v inspire_v we_o with_o strength_n and_o activity_n and_o carry_v we_o out_o even_o beyond_o ourselves_o will_v animate_v we_o with_o such_o courage_n and_o resolution_n as_o that_o we_o shall_v despise_v all_o danger_n and_o difficulty_n and_o think_v eternal_a happiness_n a_o good_a bargain_n whatever_o pain_n or_o trouble_v it_o may_v cost_v we_o to_o purchase_v it_o such_o great_a hope_n set_v before_o we_o will_v animate_v we_o with_o a_o undaunted_a bravery_n and_o courage_n and_o enable_v we_o to_o work_v wonder_n this_o conquer_v the_o love_n of_o life_n itself_o which_o be_v most_o deep_o implant_v in_o our_o nature_n for_o what_o will_v not_o a_o man_n give_v or_o part_v with_o for_o the_o save_n of_o his_o life_n yet_o they_o
