2_o a_o commendation_n of_o his_o ministry_n ver_fw-la 25._o mind_v to_o commend_v his_o ministry_n to_o they_o to_o make_v way_n to_o that_o he_o have_v to_o teach_v he_o first_o prevent_v that_o which_o may_v be_v object_v against_o the_o same_o object_n it_o may_v be_v say_v it_o seem_v strange_a to_o we_o that_o thou_o be_v servant_n to_o so_o great_a a_o lord_n as_o thou_o have_v describe_v he_o to_o be_v shall_v find_v so_o hard_a entertainment_n in_o the_o world_n be_v almost_o in_o continual_a affliction_n this_o be_v so_o far_o from_o derogate_a any_o thing_n from_o i_o or_o my_o ministry_n answ_n that_o contrariwise_o i_o have_v good_a cause_n to_o joy_n and_o do_v rejoice_v therein_o for_o thereby_o i_o make_v supply_n of_o the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n and_o that_o for_o the_o good_a of_o the_o church_n in_o general_a and_o of_o you_o particular_o wherein_o first_o observe_v obs_n obs_n that_o it_o be_v no_o new_a thing_n for_o the_o minister_n of_o christ_n to_o be_v afflict_v for_o the_o gospels_n sake_n the_o apostle_n be_v seldom_o in_o any_o other_o condition_n the_o like_a be_v the_o state_n of_o other_o apostle_n and_o of_o the_o prophet_n that_o be_v before_o they_o and_o of_o all_o other_o sanctify_a minister_n the_o disciple_n be_v not_o above_o his_o master_n and_o all_o that_o will_v live_v godly_a in_o christ_n must_v suffer_v persecution_n then_o much_o more_o they_o that_o teach_v man_n so_o to_o do_v yea_o this_o be_v so_o ordinary_a to_o faithful_a minister_n and_o so_o usual_a a_o companion_n to_o their_o faithfulness_n that_o a_o man_n may_v worthy_o doubt_v of_o that_o minister_n faithfulness_n that_o find_v not_o this_o entertainment_n in_o this_o world_n they_o be_v therefore_o man_n either_o of_o weak_a understanding_n use_v or_o of_o a_o very_a perverse_a heart_n who_o assoon_o as_o they_o see_v a_o minister_n under_o persecution_n and_o trouble_n forthwith_o censure_v he_o as_o a_o busy_a and_o factious_a man_n so_o with_o the_o same_o breath_n they_o give_v sentence_n against_o the_o holy_a apostle_n and_o prophet_n yea_o and_o against_o our_o saviour_n christ_n himself_o it_o be_v their_o peevishness_n want_v of_o judgement_n and_o discretion_n object_n etc._n etc._n that_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o their_o trouble_n there_o may_v be_v some_o such_o fault_n in_o some_o answ_n yea_o in_o some_o measure_n in_o all_o but_o why_o then_o escape_v not_o saint_n paul_n and_o other_o the_o apostle_n and_o prophet_n yea_o and_o christ_n himself_o be_v they_o peevish_a it_o be_v therefore_o some_o other_o thing_n that_o be_v chief_o the_o cause_n of_o minister_n molestation_n even_o the_o inveterate_a hatred_n of_o the_o old_a serpent_n and_o his_o brood_n it_o be_v for_o instruction_n let_v such_o to_o see_v they_o have_v no_o cause_n to_o be_v grieve_v or_o ashamed_a at_o their_o suffering_n for_o the_o gospel_n but_o to_o rejoice_v rather_o jam._n 1.2_o my_o brethren_n count_v it_o exceed_v great_a joy_n when_o you_o fall_v into_o divers_a temptation_n and_o act_v 5.41_o rejoice_v that_o you_o be_v count_v worthy_a to_o suffer_v rebuke_n for_o christ_n indeed_o man_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v without_o sense_n of_o their_o affliction_n how_o then_o shall_v they_o profit_v by_o they_o indeed_o as_o they_o be_v god_n chastisement_n they_o ought_v to_o be_v grieve_v at_o they_o and_o humble_v under_o they_o but_o the_o joy_n conceive_v at_o the_o cause_n of_o they_o and_o the_o honour_n god_n vouchsafe_v to_o we_o in_o they_o aught_o to_o swallow_v up_o or_o at_o least_o overcome_v that_o sorrow_n many_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o we_o shall_v rejoice_v in_o this_o kind_n of_o affliction_n but_o let_v we_o consider_v the_o reason_n allege_v by_o the_o apostle_n in_o this_o place_n the_o first_o be_v because_o therein_o he_o make_v a_o supply_n of_o christ_n affliction_n object_n it_o seem_v then_o may_z some_z say_v that_o the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n be_v not_o sufficient_a but_o have_v need_n to_o be_v supply_v and_o patch_v up_o by_o our_o good_a work_n do_n or_o suffering_n christ_n and_o his_o member_n make_v but_o one_o christ_n answ_n 1_o cor._n 12.12_o and_o therefore_o that_o which_o they_o suffer_v he_o suffer_v act_n 9.4_o saul_n saul_n why_o persecute_v thou_o i_o and_o he_o will_v suffer_v in_o his_o member_n that_o the_o truth_n tend_v great_o to_o the_o good_a of_o the_o church_n to_o the_o confirmation_n comfort_n and_o good_a example_n of_o it_o but_o as_o for_o merit_n it_o neither_o need_v any_o but_o the_o merit_n of_o christ_n neither_o if_o it_o do_v can_v they_o avail_v but_o the_o papist_n that_o will_v wring_v these_o thing_n from_o hence_o be_v evident_o discover_v to_o be_v blasphemer_n of_o god_n and_o of_o christ_n his_o son_n the_o apostle_n oppose_v this_o everywhere_o 2_o tim._n 2.10_o therefore_o i_o suffer_v all_o thing_n for_o the_o elect_v sake_n that_o they_o may_v also_o obtain_v the_o salvation_n which_o be_v in_o jesus_n christ_n with_o eternal_a glory_n 2_o cor._n 1.6_o whether_o we_o be_v afflict_v it_o be_v for_o your_o consolation_n and_o salvation_n and_o eph._n 1.23_o to_o comfort_v we_o who_o be_v so_o near_o knit_v unto_o he_o use_v 1_o bone_n of_o his_o bone_n and_o flesh_n of_o his_o flesh_n how_o can_v we_o perish_v if_o he_o be_v our_o head_n
