his_o book_n the_o soul_n to_o be_v finite_a by_o which_o he_o plain_o mean_v mortal_a or_o final_a to_o die_v or_o have_v a_o end_n which_o finis_n signify_v from_o whence_o finite_a come_v our_o uncharitable_a opposer_n have_v conclude_v we_o hold_v the_o soul_n to_o be_v infinite_a and_o consequent_o god_n whereas_o the_o word_n before_o and_o after_o as_o well_o as_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o thing_n show_v plain_o he_o only_o mean_v that_o it_o be_v eternal_a and_o so_o not_o finite_a that_o be_v not_o terminable_a or_o that_o which_o shall_v come_v to_o a_o end_n and_o also_o because_o we_o have_v not_o declare_v ourselves_o about_o matter_n of_o faith_n in_o the_o many_o and_o critical_a word_n that_o man_n wisdom_n teach_v but_o in_o the_o word_n which_o the_o holy_a ghost_n teach_v we_o have_v be_v esteem_v either_o ignorant_a or_o equivocal_a and_o unsound_a whereas_o it_o be_v real_o matter_n of_o conscience_n to_o we_o to_o deliver_v our_o belief_n in_o such_o word_n as_o the_o holy_a spirit_n in_o scripture_n teach_v and_o if_o we_o add_v more_o for_o illustration_n it_o be_v from_o a_o experience_n of_o the_o work_n of_o the_o same_o spirit_n in_o religion_n whereas_o we_o differ_v least_o where_o we_o be_v think_v to_o differ_v most_o for_o set_v aside_o some_o school_n term_n we_o hold_v the_o substance_n of_o those_o doctrine_n believe_v by_o the_o church_n of_o england_n as_o to_o god_n christ_n spirit_n scripture_n repentance_n sanctification_n remission_n of_o sin_n holy_a living_n and_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o just_a and_o unjust_a to_o eternal_a reward_n and_o punishment_n but_o that_o wherein_o we_o differ_v most_o be_v about_o worship_n and_o conversation_n and_o the_o inward_a qualification_n of_o the_o soul_n by_o the_o work_n of_o god_n spirit_n thereon_o in_o pursuance_n of_o these_o good_a and_o general_o receive_v doctrine_n for_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n only_o convince_v and_o convert_v the_o soul_n and_o make_v those_o that_o be_v dead_a in_o trespass_n and_o sin_n and_o in_o the_o lust_n pleasure_n and_o fashion_n of_o this_o world_n alive_a to_o god_n that_o be_v sensible_a of_o his_o mind_n and_o will_n and_o of_o their_o duty_n to_o do_v they_o and_o bring_v to_o know_v god_n and_o his_o attribute_n by_o the_o power_n of_o they_o upon_o their_o own_o soul_n and_o lead_v to_o worship_n god_n right_o which_o be_v in_o his_o spirit_n and_o in_o truth_n with_o heart_n sanctify_v by_o the_o truth_n which_o be_v a_o live_n and_o acceptable_a worship_n and_o stand_v in_o power_n not_o formality_n nor_o in_o the_o tradition_n and_o prescription_n of_o man_n in_o synod_n and_o convocation_n but_o in_o the_o holy_a spirit_n first_o in_o show_v we_o our_o real_a want_n and_o then_o in_o help_v our_o infirmity_n with_o sigh_n and_o groan_n and_o sometime_o word_n to_o pray_v for_o a_o suitable_a supply_n for_o which_o we_o in_o our_o meeting_n wait_v upon_o god_n to_o quicken_v and_o prepare_v we_o that_o we_o may_v worship_v he_o acceptable_o and_o profitable_o for_o they_o go_v together_o now_o because_o we_o be_v satisfy_v that_o all_o worship_n to_o god_n and_o exhortation_n to_o man_n as_o pray_v praise_v and_o preach_v and_o every_o other_o religious_a duty_n ought_v to_o be_v spiritual_o perform_v and_o find_v so_o little_a of_o it_o among_o professor_n of_o christianity_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n have_v not_o that_o rule_n and_o guidance_n of_o they_o in_o their_o life_n and_o worship_n as_o it_o ought_v to_o have_v and_o see_v they_o too_o general_o satisfy_v with_o a_o ministry_n and_o worship_n of_o man_n make_v be_v not_o qualify_v nor_o lead_v by_o god_n spirit_n thereunto_o we_o can_v find_v that_o comfort_n and_o edification_n to_o god_n the_o great_a and_o last_o judge_n of_o the_o act_n and_o deed_n of_o the_o son_n of_o men._n last_o because_o at_o the_o time_n of_o our_o friend_n first_o appear_v in_o this_o age_n there_o be_v a_o sect_n of_o people_n new_o spring_v up_o and_o true_o call_v ranter_n that_o be_v the_o reverss_n to_o the_o quaker_n for_o they_o fear_v and_o quake_v at_o nothing_o but_o make_v a_o mock_n at_o fear_v of_o god_n and_o at_o sin_n and_o at_o hell_n who_o pretend_v that_o love_n make_v fear_v needless_a and_o that_o nothing_o be_v sin_n but_o to_o they_o that_o think_v it_o so_o and_o that_o none_o shall_v be_v damn_v at_o last_o who_o extravagant_a practice_n exact_o correspond_v with_o their_o evil_a principle_n from_o hence_o some_o ignorant_o and_o too_o many_o
