part_n of_o life_n to_o be_v ridiculous_a and_o of_o no_o account_n and_o therefore_o as_o i_o be_o not_o ashamed_a to_o confess_v that_o i_o have_v receive_v wonderful_a cause_n of_o thanksgiving_n gift_n which_o he_o have_v give_v i_o as_o in_o this_o kind_n of_o study_n namely_o of_o writing_n i_o may_v and_o also_o if_o i_o shall_v not_o endeavour_n to_o grow_v forward_o in_o grace_n experience_n 17._o and_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n from_o the_o which_o a_o man_n may_v be_v easy_o hinder_v by_o the_o error_n of_o the_o wicked_a rather_o than_o to_o to_o they_o because_o they_o have_v much_o provoke_v they_o before_o and_o rail_v on_o they_o therefore_o if_o any_o be_v trouble_v as_o these_o be_v with_o doubt_n especial_o in_o their_o conscience_n and_o be_v in_o great_a straits_n and_o unquietness_n through_o fear_n of_o god_n displeasure_n and_o wrath_n if_o they_o can_v with_o their_o own_o knowledge_n put_v away_o their_o trouble_n of_o mind_n let_v they_o inquire_v of_o the_o man_n and_o brethren_n who_o they_o be_v well_o persuade_v off_o for_o resolution_n and_o comfort_n as_o they_o do_v who_o as_o they_o have_v be_v instrument_n of_o god_n to_o prick_v and_o wound_v they_o so_o be_v they_o also_o to_o help_v to_o ease_v they_o and_o they_o need_v not_o fear_v god_n have_v promise_v but_o that_o they_o shall_v find_v rest_n to_o their_o soul_n how_o impossible_a soever_o it_o seem_v to_o they_o to_o be_v so_o and_o this_o be_v say_v of_o the_o first_o verse_n in_o this_o next_o it_o be_v manifest_a that_o god_n give_v they_o a_o answer_n from_o the_o propitiatory_a 2._o or_o mercy-seat_n which_o they_o receive_v by_o the_o high_a priest_n for_o so_o he_o use_v to_o do_v and_o it_o be_v one_o of_o the_o ordinary_a mean_n whereby_o god_n speak_v to_o they_o in_o those_o day_n and_o he_o do_v not_o only_o so_o whereby_o they_o be_v satisfy_v their_o question_n be_v answer_v but_o he_o also_o encourage_v they_o to_o go_v to_o the_o work_n he_o set_v they_o about_o promise_v they_o the_o victory_n in_o that_o war_n against_o the_o canaanite_n say_v i_o have_v give_v their_o land_n into_o the_o well_o do_v of_o duty_n as_o it_o make_v we_o see_v the_o wicked_a at_o their_o wit_n end_n when_o they_o be_v in_o great_a danger_n can_v have_v no_o help_n from_o god_n as_o we_o read_v it_o be_v with_o saul_n who_o when_o he_o seek_v to_o god_n and_o ask_v counsel_n of_o he_o to_o serve_v his_o own_o turn_n thereby_o against_o the_o philistines_n rather_o then_o to_o please_v he_o and_o he_o answer_v he_o not_o he_o in_o depth_n of_o sorrow_n complain_v and_o cry_v out_o say_v the_o lord_n have_v forsake_v i_o and_o answer_v i_o no_o more_o neither_o by_o prophet_n nor_o by_o dream_n but_o bless_v be_v his_o name_n he_o deal_v not_o so_o with_o his_o neither_o let_v this_o trouble_v they_o for_o so_o they_o will_v say_v that_o although_o god_n answer_v this_o people_n of_o israel_n here_o when_o they_o seek_v to_o he_o yet_o he_o do_v not_o so_o to_o we_o now_o for_o they_o be_v to_o know_v that_o it_o be_v his_o promise_n to_o we_o in_o all_o that_o we_o ask_v of_o he_o according_a to_o his_o will_n to_o grant_v it_o as_o well_o as_o here_o he_o answer_v 14._o to_o they_o in_o that_o they_o ask_v therefore_o in_o the_o psalm_n he_o say_v call_v on_o i_o in_o more_o welcome_a we_o be_v for_o this_o be_v as_o true_a as_o the_o former_a speech_n see_v such_o be_v most_o inward_a with_o he_o and_o belove_v of_o he_o as_o abraham_n moses_n and_o david_n who_o of_o other_o repair_v oft_a to_o he_o and_o receive_v most_o of_o he_o i_o say_v see_v it_o be_v thus_o betwixt_o god_n and_o we_o how_o lamentable_a be_v it_o and_o to_o be_v bewail_v that_o this_o be_v not_o more_o common_a for_o man_n to_o repair_v to_o god_n who_o if_o they_o can_v mark_v it_o may_v easy_o perceive_v that_o while_o they_o neglect_v to_o do_v so_o they_o increase_v their_o term_v it_o as_o other_o shall_v bold_o affirm_v that_o they_o see_v no_o good_a come_v of_o it_o they_o and_o yet_o in_o their_o distress_n they_o think_v they_o shall_v pray_v but_o then_o they_o have_v neither_o will_n nor_o skill_n thereto_o in_o stead_n thereof_o do_v curse_n and_o rage_n for_o that_o they_o be_v not_o help_v and_o deliver_v though_o some_o of_o they_o do_v utter_a word_n in_o their_o passion_n the_o lord_n hear_v they_o not_o as_o we_o read_v pro._n 1._o 20._o for_o it_o be_v all_o one_o as_o if_o they_o utter_v none_o and_o though_o they_o can_v pray_v to_o god_n yet_o they_o make_v their_o complaint_n and_o moan_n to_o every_o man_n that_o they_o have_v acquaintance_n with_o and_o that_o will_v hear_v they_o and_o for_o they_o to_o break_v their_o mind_n to_o they_o that_o can_v help_v they_o when_o yet_o they_o will_v so_o glad_o find_v help_v and_o to_o pass_v by_o he_o in_o who_o there_o be_v present_a and_o sure_a help_n to_o be_v find_v what_o folly_n nay_o what_o madness_n be_v it_o for_o to_o say_v the_o truth_n god_n be_v not_o seek_v unto_o in_o any_o sort_n of_o such_o no_o not_o when_o all_o other_o shift_n fail_v as_o i_o have_v say_v but_o to_o speak_v of_o the_o second_o sort_n who_o be_v professor_n a_o forward_a sort_n in_o religion_n then_o the_o former_a these_o shall_v pray_v and_o that_o in_o faith_n confidence_n and_o repentance_n with_o comfort_n as_o well_o as_o in_o desire_n of_o obtain_v the_o thing_n which_o they_o want_v with_o patient_a wait_a god_n leisure_n but_o even_o they_o seek_v not_o to_o god_n in_o bare_a noise_n of_o word_n vain_a repetition_n and_o idle_a 7._o speech_n which_o god_n abhor_v neither_o may_v such_o look_v to_o receive_v any_o thing_n as_o s._n james_n say_v you_o ask_v and_o obtain_v not_o because_o you_o ask_v amiss_o 3._o and_o when_o they_o see_v they_o receive_v not_o the_o thing_n they_o ask_v even_o they_o as_o well_o as_o the_o other_o who_o be_v further_o off_o do_v gather_v and_o imagine_v though_o false_o and_o unjust_o that_o prayer_n do_v no_o good_a and_o that_o it_o be_v but_o lose_a labour_n see_v they_o be_v not_o hear_v in_o they_o when_o they_o pray_v amiss_o and_o so_o they_o wax_v more_o slack_a and_o negligent_a therein_o as_o the_o other_o omit_v it_o altogether_o and_o the_o less_o marvel_v it_o be_v see_v even_o good_a christian_n to_o come_v to_o the_o three_o sort_n who_o go_v far_o beyond_o both_o do_v so_o forget_v themselves_o ofttimes_o and_o be_v so_o delude_v by_o the_o devil_n that_o even_o they_o omit_v zealous_a and_o servant_n pray_v and_o fall_v to_o pray_v cold_o deadly_a so_o many_o vain_a deluzion_n and_o allurement_n stand_v up_o in_o their_o way_n to_o unsettle_v they_o and_o misty_a cloud_n of_o trouble_n to_o discourage_v they_o and_o while_o it_o be_v thus_o with_o
his_o profession_n ridiculous_fw-la and_o to_o let_v he_o see_v what_o this_o will_v grow_v to_o he_o may_v further_o understand_v that_o god_n deal_v with_o such_o after_o this_o manner_n that_o first_o he_o suffer_v they_o to_o be_v unsettle_a in_o their_o course_n so_o that_o they_o serve_v god_n awk_o and_o untoward_o as_o he_o go_v to_o work_v that_o use_v dull_a edge_a instrument_n they_o can_v pray_v nor_o walk_v roundly_o and_o cheerful_o in_o their_o call_n but_o be_v full_a of_o unquietnes_n with_o much_o grudge_n of_o conscience_n and_o a_o very_a taste_n of_o hell_n which_o to_o continue_v many_o hour_n or_o day_n be_v yet_o a_o heavy_a burden_n and_o great_a bondage_n note_n and_o yet_o if_o they_o relent_v not_o when_o they_o be_v unsettle_a and_o when_o they_o see_v themselves_o thus_o far_o out_o of_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n a_o great_a danger_n be_v like_a to_o follow_v that_o be_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v harden_v and_o so_o far_o from_o repentance_n and_o then_o they_o fall_v from_o evil_a to_o worse_o till_o they_o break_v into_o other_o open_a offence_n be_v meet_v withal_o and_o requite_v with_o sundry_a open_a and_o shameful_a punishment_n this_o be_v the_o lord_n manner_n of_o deal_n with_o his_o own_o even_o as_o he_o deal_v with_o the_o ungodly_a first_o to_o warn_v they_o secret_o by_o the_o accusation_n of_o their_o vice_n or_o in_o a_o high_a degree_n give_v to_o anger_n wrath_n impatience_n currishnesse_n stoutness_n wilfulness_n or_o be_v scoff_v spirit_v oppress_v with_o melancholy_a woman_n particular_o of_o a_o sting_a tongue_n and_o parret-like_a or_o exceed_v other_o in_o any_o such_o bad_a quality_n and_o so_o the_o man_n in_o some_o like_a manner_n disguise_v i_o say_v if_o these_o be_v let_v there_o
