soul_n o_o what_o be_v man_n that_o a_o god_n shall_v be_v so_o mindful_a of_o he_o and_o do_v so_o for_o he_o but_o o_o what_o must_v man_n then_o be_v that_o so_o little_a mind_n god_n and_o what_o must_v that_o man_n be_v that_o do_v not_o that_o can_v or_o rather_o will_v not_o find_v mind_n employment_n how_o to_o engage_v and_o act_v that_o rare_a endowment_n the_o think_v power_n in_o the_o rich_a and_o ample_a provision_n purposely_o make_v for_o object_n of_o mind_n entertainment_n all_o this_o be_v then_o my_o eye-scope_n and_o have_v so_o great_a variety_n of_o eye-walks_a so_o large_a a_o latitude_n to_o exercise_v my_o think_n so_o profitable_o to_o act_v this_o holy_a duty_n of_o meditation_n i_o be_o leave_v whole_o if_o i_o neglect_v it_o without_o all_o excuse_n if_o i_o still_o daily_o let_v my_o thought_n run_v and_o ravel_v out_o in_o vanity_n and_o impertinency_n and_o can_v fix_v no_o where_o useful_o for_o my_o spiritual_a good_a but_o in_o that_o multitude_n of_o thing_n may_v breed_v confusion_n prudence_n must_v direct_v to_o find_v out_o the_o best_a method_n and_o order_n that_o so_o i_o may_v meditate_v with_o more_o ease_n pleasure_n and_o advantage_n my_o best_a wisdom_n therefore_o be_v to_o consider_v of_o the_o fit_a way_n if_o not_o in_o itself_o yet_o at_o least_o for_o my_o particular_a ability_n and_o time_n 1._o as_o either_o to_o meditate_v of_o some_o portion_n or_o passage_n of_o holy_a scripture_n some_o precept_n promise_v threaten_v direction_n encouragement_n or_o example_n or_o some_o grace_n virtue_n vice_n or_o sin_n and_o for_o more_o delight_n and_o help_v meditate_v i_o may_v by_o set_v one_o contrary_a against_o another_o as_o one_o promise_n be_v single_v or_o some_o of_o the_o promise_n i_o may_v turn_v upon_o the_o threaten_n if_o i_o meditate_v upon_o a_o reward_n and_o blessing_n give_v to_o any_o turn_v i_o may_v to_o the_o punishment_n and_o evil_n that_o have_v be_v inflict_v or_o be_v threaten_v reward_v on_o obedience_n and_o punishment_n on_o disobedience_n 2._o meditate_v i_o may_v over_o the_o head_n and_o chief_a point_n of_o religion_n in_o order_n as_o i_o can_v set_v they_o or_o as_o some_o short_a body_n of_o divinity_n and_o catechism_n comprise_v they_o 3._o or_o something_o of_o the_o work_n of_o the_o great_a god_n as_o creation_n that_o so_o amaze_a and_o utter_o inconceivable_a work_n set_v out_o as_o it_o be_v in_o genesis_n the_o first_o and_o in_o other_o scripture_n or_o providence_n god_n so_o strange_a and_o admirable_a preservation_n and_o govern_n of_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n from_o the_o great_a to_o the_o least_o in_o it_o and_o about_o it_o every_o motion_n mutation_n and_o dispose_v of_o it_o to_o a_o sure_a end_n his_o own_o high_a glory_n 4._o or_o something_o particular_o of_o my_o own_o spiritual_a condition_n for_o my_o more_o peculiar_a benefit_n as_o 1._o something_o which_o may_v make_v i_o wise_a to_o salvation_n and_o add_v to_o my_o treasure_n of_o spiritual_a truth_n 2._o something_o may_v make_v i_o warm_a and_o increase_v my_o heat_n of_o holy_a affection_n 3._o or_o something_o which_o may_v strengthen_v and_o fix_v my_o soul_n great_a purpose_n of_o walk_v with_o god_n and_o render_v i_o a_o more_o high_o resolve_v person_n for_o heaven_n 4._o i_o shall_v as_o a_o grand_a business_n the_o affair_n of_o chief_a concernment_n meditate_v frequent_o and_o most_o serious_o about_o the_o case_n of_o my_o soul_n how_o in_o very_a deed_n it_o be_v 2_o cor._n 13.5_o both_o without_o any_o self_n flattery_n on_o the_o one_o hand_n or_o self_n injury_n on_o the_o other_o hand_n psal_n 36.2_o neither_o make_v my_o self_n and_o state_n better_o than_o it_o be_v nor_o worse_o than_o it_o assert_v so_o by_o a_o god_n for_o who_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o lie_v heb._n 6._o being_n infinite_o wise_a holy_a righteous_a and_o good_a he_o affirm_v it_o and_o that_o before_o and_o to_o the_o very_a face_n of_o all_o person_n he_o have_v write_v record_v it_o in_o his_o scripture_n of_o truth_n he_o have_v command_v all_o person_n to_o read_v what_o he_o have_v there_o record_v he_o have_v preserve_v miraculous_o these_o record_n against_o all_o hater_n and_o opposer_n man_n and_o devil_n and_o among_o other_o end_n that_o man_n may_v have_v a_o glass_n a_o perfect_a undeceive_a glass_n to_o show_v man_n that_o they_o never_o will_v or_o can_v see_v or_o believe_v if_o god_n have_v not_o hold_v this_o glass_n to_o they_o and_o make_v the_o true_a and_o lively_a representation_n of_o the_o heart_n deceitfulness_n above_o all_o thing_n by_o it_o 2._o these_o scripture_n assertion_n of_o the_o heart_n deceitfulness_n be_v from_o that_o god_n who_o be_v the_o only_a both_o heart-framer_n and_o heart-searcher_n and_o knower_n ps_n 33.15_o have_v his_o eye_n omniscient_a eye_n also_o every_o moment_n and_o least_o particle_n of_o time_n upon_o it_o and_o sin_n which_o have_v fall_v in_o and_o which_o it_o have_v gather_v all_o its_o motion_n irregular_a all_o its_o stop_n and_o stand_v all_o its_o commission_n and_o omission_n all_o its_o defect_n of_o principle_n all_o its_o corrupt_a principle_n therefore_o know_v the_o both_o natural_a power_n of_o the_o soul_n with_o all_o superadded_a corrupt_a principle_n evil_o incline_v aim_n and_o interest_n bias_v and_o lead_v he_o keep_v also_o such_o a_o eye_n ever_o upon_o it_o for_o of_o the_o thing_n in_o the_o whole_a world_n there_o be_v no_o one_o thing_n the_o eye_n of_o god_n look_v so_o upon_o as_o spirit_n and_o heart_n he_o must_v know_v the_o deceitfulness_n of_o it_o by_o be_v the_o only_a maker_n and_o likewise_o the_o continual_a observer_n of_o it_o and_o therefore_o if_o
