from_o that_o integrity_n which_o it_o have_v in_o creation_n and_o then_o how_o can_v we_o in_o that_o darkness_n see_v light_a see_v that_o hinder_v we_o from_o behold_v grace_n more_o clear_a than_o these_o that_o be_v to_o be_v see_v in_o affliction_n and_o correction_n and_o if_o we_o can_v see_v in_o they_o his_o love_n till_o the_o thick_a scale_n of_o our_o ignorance_n be_v pull_v from_o the_o eye_n of_o our_o mind_n and_o understanding_n how_o shall_v we_o perceive_v that_o he_o assay_v our_o good_a therem_fw-la till_o the_o same_o also_o be_v remove_v and_o take_v away_o for_o as_o we_o be_v hardly_o persuade_v of_o this_o that_o stroke_n testify_v the_o favour_n of_o he_o that_o sound_o &_o round_o lay_v they_o upon_o we_o so_o shall_v flesh_n &_o blood_n never_o yield_v to_o this_o that_o blow_v better_v we_o till_o the_o heart_n special_o enlighten_v believe_v the_o same_o and_o we_o know_v either_o by_o experience_n in_o ourselves_o or_o by_o observation_n in_o other_o that_o they_o have_v not_o by_o nature_n but_o by_o grace_n gain_v that_o glorious_a issue_n the_o like_a may_v we_o say_v of_o pledge_v up_o unto_o we_o the_o hope_n of_o heaven_n for_o what_o man_n if_o he_o have_v not_o more_o in_o he_o than_o man_n will_v imagine_v that_o so_o hard_a a_o measure_n of_o affliction_n and_o sorrow_n as_o lie_v not_o only_o upon_o the_o back_n but_o be_v in_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n yea_o godly_a man_n shall_v testify_v unto_o they_o such_o heavenly_a grace_n we_o rather_o say_v and_o see_v that_o the_o father_n that_o beat_v the_o child_n much_o and_o often_o hardly_o mind_v to_o give_v he_o the_o inheritance_n and_o to_o make_v he_o lord_n and_o heir_n of_o all_o howbeit_o god_n word_n tell_v we_o that_o it_o be_v far_o otherwise_o with_o of_o glory_n now_o whether_o in_o these_o point_v it_o be_v better_a for_o we_o to_o believe_v god_n and_o his_o holy_a word_n or_o to_o trust_v our_o own_o reason_n and_o humane_a judgement_n i_o have_v almost_o say_v let_v all_o the_o world_n judge_v but_o let_v the_o godly_a especial_o speak_v their_o mind_n and_o deliver_v their_o sentence_n according_a to_o truth_n and_o right_n whatsoever_o hitherto_o have_v be_v deliver_v concern_v especial_o either_o the_o narration_n itself_o and_o the_o thing_n do_v as_o we_o say_v or_o else_o some_o profitable_a point_n arise_v therefrom_o or_o appertain_v thereto_o all_o which_o no_o doubt_n of_o it_o be_v profitable_a if_o they_o be_v lay_v to_o heart_n to_o build_v we_o up_o in_o knowledge_n and_o judgement_n but_o there_o be_v another_o thing_n beside_o that_o as_o in_o all_o cause_n general_o so_o particular_o in_o this_o we_o must_v careful_o labour_v to_o attain_v to_o and_o that_o be_v conscience_n of_o the_o thing_n that_o we_o know_v &_o care_v to_o profit_v by_o they_o to_o the_o better_n of_o we_o in_o this_o life_n before_o god_n and_o man_n and_o in_o our_o own_o heart_n also_o that_o so_o in_o the_o comfortable_a feel_n of_o it_o we_o may_v have_v assurance_n of_o hope_n and_o heart_n that_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v confound_v in_o that_o which_o be_v to_o come_v and_o to_o this_o we_o can_v come_v or_o be_v bring_v but_o by_o make_v special_a use_n of_o and_o particular_a apply_v unto_o our_o own_o soul_n the_o point_n of_o instruction_n or_o the_o several_a and_o sundry_a action_n that_o god_n do_v for_o or_o among_o the_o son_n of_o man_n without_o which_o indeed_o as_o in_o the_o public_a ministry_n all_o pain_n take_v be_v but_o labour_n lose_v and_o as_o it_o be_v word_n speak_v in_o the_o air_n as_o the_o example_n of_o former_a age_n and_o the_o experience_n of_o our_o own_o time_n do_v but_o too_o sufficient_o show_v so_o in_o all_o private_a doctrine_n or_o document_n whether_o they_o be_v deliver_v by_o the_o audible_a voice_n of_o man_n or_o propound_v unto_o we_o by_o the_o work_n of_o god_n in_o his_o mercy_n towards_o his_o own_o people_n or_o in_o his_o judgement_n towards_o the_o wicked_a will_v be_v at_o the_o most_o but_o as_o a_o wonder_n of_o nine_o day_n as_o we_o say_v in_o the_o proverb_n and_o like_v unto_o water_n spill_v upon_o the_o ground_n true_a it_o be_v and_o i_o be_o sure_a every_o good_a man_n will_v confess_v it_o that_o neither_o the_o one_o nor_o the_o other_o can_v indeed_o either_o do_v we_o good_a in_o this_o life_n or_o further_o we_o unto_o eternal_a salvation_n to_o make_v we_o without_o excuse_n and_o defence_n before_o god_n and_o in_o ourselves_o i_o deny_v not_o but_o some_o power_n they_o have_v otherwise_o than_o as_o they_o be_v sanctify_v by_o the_o almighty_a work_n of_o the_o bless_a spirit_n and_o therefore_o when_o or_o where_o or_o howsoever_o god_n deal_v with_o we_o we_o shall_v present_o and_o unfeigned_o humble_v ourselves_o in_o prayer_n and_o call_v and_o crave_v for_o grace_n to_o profit_v thereby_o howbeit_o though_o that_o i_o mean_v the_o gracious_a work_n of_o god_n no_o man_n so_o unwise_a as_o to_o refuse_v meat_n drink_n cloth_n sleep_n and_o other_o necessary_a help_n and_o aide_n that_o way_n for_o that_o be_v to_o tempt_v god_n and_o to_o live_v if_o some_o one_o or_o other_o can_v do_v it_o rather_o a_o miraculous_a than_o a_o natural_a life_n so_o in_o our_o spiritual_a life_n though_o god_n by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n work_v all_o in_o all_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o they_o that_o he_o have_v mark_v out_o unto_o eternal_a blessedness_n yet_o no_o man_n that_o fear_v god_n or_o care_v for_o his_o own_o salvation_n neglect_v much_o less_o despise_v the_o word_n sacrament_n prayer_n admonition_n exhortation_n rebuke_n public_a private_a etc._n etc._n but_o more_o careful_o frequent_v and_o more_o religious_o use_v the_o same_o and_o labour_v more_o to_o treasure_n they_o up_o in_o his_o heart_n for_o goodness_n than_o he_o do_v all_o or_o any_o of_o the_o outward_a thing_n appertain_v to_o the_o body_n or_o natural_a man_n and_o even_o so_o be_v it_o in_o this_o case_n of_o apply_v to_o our_o purpose_n and_o make_v use_n in_o our_o soul_n of_o the_o way_n and_o work_n of_o god_n general_a or_o particular_a open_a or_o secret_a to_o that_o therefore_o we_o come_v as_o indeed_o unto_o the_o life_n and_o soul_n of_o the_o other_o thing_n before_o go_v and_o therein_o direct_v our_o speech_n as_o first_o to_o the_o whole_a land_n general_o who_o upon_o every_o such_o particular_a occasion_n shall_v make_v special_a profit_n as_o well_o because_o all_o the_o several_a member_n in_o a_o kingdom_n or_o in_o a_o church_n make_v the_o house_n of_o the_o east_n side_n of_o the_o say_a town_n where_o also_o it_o burn_v some_o fifteen_o or_o sixteen_o bay_n of_o building_n as_o i_o take_v it_o to_o all_o this_o we_o may_v add_v as_o mean_n to_o increase_v this_o enkindle_a flame_n the_o carefulness_n of_o the_o people_n come_v together_o out_o of_o the_o field_n and_o their_o carelessness_n also_o if_o any_o man_n think_v it_o strange_a that_o such_o contrary_n shall_v either_o be_v in_o one_o and_o the_o self_n same_o subject_n or_o further_o one_o and_o the_o self_n same_o action_n let_v he_o weigh_v that_o the_o care_n that_o they_o have_v to_o carry_v some_o of_o their_o good_n out_o of_o their_o dwell_a house_n into_o the_o street_n and_o other_o place_n lest_o the_o fire_n also_o shall_v have_v take_v hold_v thereof_o make_v they_o careless_a to_o stop_v the_o passage_n of_o the_o fire_n which_o drive_v as_o i_o say_v by_o the_o force_n of_o the_o wind_n do_v not_o only_o pass_v speedy_o from_o which_o be_v not_o of_o least_o consequence_n concern_v this_o cause_n though_o the_o people_n of_o the_o country_n come_v in_o very_o love_o and_o ready_o many_o of_o they_o leave_v their_o own_o labour_n and_o free_v their_o hire_a workman_n from_o their_o task_n and_o pay_v they_o notwithstanding_o their_o day_n wage_n to_o help_v to_o extinguish_v and_o quench_v the_o fire_n and_o indeed_o though_o diverse_a of_o they_o wrought_v and_o toil_v very_o sore_a and_o hard_o there_o about_o yet_o some_o thorough_a want_n of_o experience_n in_o such_o particular_a action_n and_o cause_n and_o other_o some_o for_o lack_n of_o good_a guidance_n and_o direction_n a_o special_a remedy_n doubtless_o in_o such_o extreme_a and_o dangerous_a cause_n take_v not_o the_o ready_a and_o easy_a way_n consume_v their_o bread_n meat_n and_o strong_a drink_n that_o they_o have_v prepare_v against_o the_o fair_a thereby_o to_o put_v they_o in_o mind_n how_o they_o have_v offend_v yea_o do_v offend_v notwithstanding_o this_o chastisement_n and_o correction_n in_o abuse_v these_o blessing_n to_o gourmandise_n and_o drunkenness_n and_o do_v not_o this_o manifest_a his_o wisdom_n that_o in_o that_o superstitious_a of_o the_o world_n irreligious_o ascribe_v as_o they_o do_v the_o matter_n and_o occurence_n that_o fall_v out_o in_o this_o life_n to_o fortune_n and_o secondary_a cause_n which_o be_v nothing_o else_o in_o truth_n but_o to_o spoil_v and_o rob_v the_o divine_a majesty_n of_o his_o power_n providence_n wisdom_n justice_n and_o whatsoever_o therein_o be_v most_o excellent_a and_o if_o we_o do_v not_o with_o a_o sound_a mind_n and_o mouth_n give_v glory_n to_o god_n therein_o and_o confess_v it_o to_o the_o praise_n of_o his_o name_n sure_o it_o be_v impossible_a either_o to_o escape_v therefrom_o a_o matter_n that_o we_o must_v patient_o hope_v for_o or_o else_o all_o will_v be_v nought_o on_o our_o side_n for_o how_o be_v it_o likely_a that_o a_o man_n shall_v quiet_o endure_v the_o cross_n and_o loss_n that_o fall_v upon_o he_o who_o know_v not_o that_o they_o be_v inflict_v not_o only_o by_o a_o superior_a but_o by_o a_o absolute_a overrule_a power_n and_o the_o same_o not_o usurp_v but_o most_o holy_a lawful_a &_o just_a or_o how_o can_v he_o so_o much_o as_o think_v of_o a_o comfortable_a deliverance_n that_o be_v not_o well_o and_o thorough_o persuade_v of_o the_o almighty_a power_n and_o providence_n of_o god_n who_o if_o he_o work_v it_o not_o for_o he_o it_o can_v never_o be_v effect_v and_o if_o he_o can_v as_o a_o skilful_a physician_n heal_v the_o malady_n and_o sickness_n of_o his_o own_o soul_n and_o minister_v consolation_n to_o his_o own_o conscience_n how_o shall_v we_o imagine_v he_o able_a to_o do_v it_o to_o other_o for_o as_o for_o man_n mischievons_a mind_n if_o our_o cross_n and_o calamity_n come_v altogether_o from_o they_o they_o can_v be_v satisfy_v till_o we_o be_v ruinate_v and_o overthrow_v and_o satan_n malice_n special_o against_o god_n people_n have_v neither_o end_n nor_o measure_n if_o it_o be_v not_o restrain_v this_o persuasion_n therefore_o that_o we_o be_v under_o god_n almighty_a hand_n and_o power_n in_o whatsoever_o state_n or_o condition_n we_o be_v be_v well_o settle_v in_o our_o heart_n will_v undoubted_o cause_v we_o that_o in_o the_o time_n of_o our_o prosperity_n we_o shall_v not_o be_v
