after_o it_o with_o great_a desire_n to_o recover_v the_o same_o whereby_o it_o appear_v how_o gross_o they_o be_v deceive_v &_o abuse_v which_o think_v to_o find_v the_o worthiness_n of_o man_n within_o man_n himself_o and_o in_o that_o that_o be_v of_o man._n man._n the_o cause_n of_o their_o error_n be_v this_o that_o the_o secret_a of_o their_o destruction_n and_o fall_n which_o come_v by_o our_o first_o father_n fault_n &_o wherein_o they_o will_v needs_o seek_v a_o fair_a and_o sound_a building_n be_v not_o reveal_v unto_o they_o whereby_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o through_o pride_n which_o they_o conceive_v of_o themselves_o for_o that_o small_a remnant_n of_o light_n that_o remain_v of_o the_o first_o beginning_n which_o be_v include_v in_o our_o nature_n which_o they_o call_v a_o little_a portion_n of_o the_o godhead_n they_o speak_v so_o bold_o and_o presumptuous_o of_o that_o which_o they_o know_v not_o and_o commend_v man_n for_o that_o which_o in_o deed_n be_v not_o in_o he_o and_o wherefore_o he_o be_v not_o in_o any_o wise_n to_o be_v commend_v and_o see_v the_o case_n stand_v so_o that_o though_o man_n be_v fall_v into_o a_o miserable_a state_n through_o the_o fall_n of_o adam_n and_o the_o image_n of_o god_n in_o he_o be_v mar_v and_o miserable_o deform_v yet_o he_o have_v some_o spark_n leave_v whereby_o there_o remain_v in_o he_o some_o dark_a light_n and_o perceiverance_n of_o the_o excellency_n of_o his_o nature_n that_o be_v to_o say_v of_o that_o uprightness_n wherewith_o the_o first_o man_n be_v beautify_v and_o make_v noble_a so_o that_o the_o corruption_n of_o sin_n be_v not_o able_a to_o do_v so_o much_o as_o utter_o to_o deface_v the_o image_n of_o god_o in_o we_o but_o that_o there_o remain_v always_o some_o little_a trace_n of_o it_o thereby_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o man_n prick_v and_o awaken_v with_o the_o feel_n of_o the_o relic_n of_o their_o first_o dignity_n and_o excellency_n enwrap_v notwithstanding_o in_o darkness_n and_o possess_v with_o a_o perverse_a and_o presumptuous_a desire_n to_o have_v somewhat_o of_o their_o own_o &_o remain_v within_o they_o be_v easy_o move_v to_o praise_n and_o commend_v the_o excellency_n of_o their_o nature_n which_o foolish_a desire_n be_v once_o present_v to_o the_o understanding_n and_o brain_n of_o each_o man_n by_o the_o same_o deceiver_n that_o will_v needs_o persuade_v our_o father_n to_o become_v like_a to_o god_n there_o be_v not_o one_o of_o we_o that_o have_v not_o a_o root_n of_o pride_n deep_o plant_v within_o his_o heart_n not_o that_o i_o mean_v to_o deny_v but_o that_o little_a understanding_n that_o man_n have_v in_o he_o even_o of_o nature_n for_o the_o maintenance_n of_o this_o present_a life_n and_o that_o discretion_n of_o good_a and_o evil_n engrave_v in_o his_o heart_n yea_o &_o that_o piece_n of_o knowledge_n of_o god_n which_o he_o have_v natural_o in_o he_o be_v not_o out_o of_o doubt_n excellent_a in_o that_o it_o come_v from_o god_n but_o i_o say_v that_o all_o these_o thing_n be_v defile_v in_o man_n even_o as_o wine_n that_o have_v receive_v infection_n by_o the_o unsavoury_a taste_n of_o the_o vessel_n wherinto_o it_o be_v put_v defile_v whereby_o the_o grace_n of_o his_o savour_n and_o goodness_n be_v go_v and_o have_v get_v beside_o a_o bitter_a and_o unwholesome_a taste_n because_o the_o judgement_n and_o discretion_n which_o he_o have_v leave_v to_o discern_v and_o make_v his_o choice_n of_o thing_n be_v partly_o imperfect_a and_o full_a of_o confusion_n and_o all_o the_o wit_n he_o have_v become_v vain_a as_o also_o his_o will_n be_v tempestuous_o carry_v and_o full_a of_o frenzy_n accordingly_z as_o man_n be_v whole_o carry_v away_o with_o sin_n and_o to_o be_v short_a his_o understanding_n and_o perceiverance_n which_o he_o have_v of_o god_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o very_o horrible_a wellspring_n of_o error_n as_o appear_v not_o only_o by_o the_o idolatry_n and_o superstition_n which_o he_o invent_v but_o also_o herein_o that_o whereas_o the_o heaven_n keep_v their_o natural_a motion_n &_o the_o water_n their_o accustom_a course_n the_o bird_n make_v their_o nest_n and_o the_o plant_n bring_v forth_o fruit_n each_o one_o in_o his_o due_a time_n &_o to_o be_v short_a no_o creature_n subject_a to_o man_n fault_v in_o his_o work_n man_n endue_v with_o knowledge_n judgement_n discourse_n and_o understanding_n be_v he_o that_o only_o err_v and_o err_v in_o such_o sort_n that_o in_o the_o whole_a world_n there_o be_v no_o fault_n no_o disorder_n &_o confusion_n but_o on_o his_o part_n so_o that_o to_o speak_v true_o there_o remain_v not_o one_o drop_n of_o uprightness_n in_o his_o whole_a nature_n so_o far_o be_v he_o from_o that_o deprive_v for_o ever_o of_o all_o his_o blessing_n yet_o notwithstanding_o it_o please_v he_o of_o a_o certain_a more_o than_o fatherly_a love_n and_o special_a favour_n which_o he_o bear_v he_o not_o
